yep, commuting can suck. My wife can work "flex" hours, so were up before 0500 so she can beat the DC area traffic. No traffic, takes 45 minutes, but some days if she goes stays late, it can take up to 2.5 hrs!! Were most likely moving closer to her work, then i wil prob be the 1 with the long commute--that is if i ever get a job,lol Traffic sucks!!

My brother does that but he doesn't even have the deceny to stop at 11 (legal quiet time) he stops between the hours of 2AM and 4AM.

My vent:

Jeremy recieved a letter from NVC saying they transferring our case from Sydney to Montreal, when jurisdiction states I go to Vancouver (which is slightly faster anyways so thats where I want to be)

Called NVC talked to a lady who is convinced all visa cases go to Montreal. I try explaining to her what is stated on travel.state.gov and the Vancouver embassy web pages, and based on the information I received from Vancouver via e-mail. She still says sometimes Vancouver takes interviews but 95% of them go to Montreal. This is my angry point because I thought everything was getting fixed and now they're ###### it up again. I ask to speak to a supervisor. Then I get a Betsy she's nice but she doesn't know either and tells me to call back in two days.

This is all ridiculous.

There have been others on VJ that have had their file sent to Montreal, when it should have gone to Vancouver. What they have done is emailed Montreal, explained the situation and asked to have it transferred to Vancouver. I would even throw inthe info about it gettign sent to Sydney, make them take extra pity on you,lol

If I ever have another baby I'd do a home birth with a midwife.

I didn't like the whole hospital experience when I had my son. I did it drug free, but the nurse was such a b1tch about my decision to do it that way. I have no clue why.

Hey Flames - maybe you can shed light on why there seem to be some nasty nurses in the baby wing? I know they don't want you to be a scream queen - but man, it's like everyone has a story about at least 1 nurse who was really mean at this very sensitive time.

I'm in no way blaming nurses at large since there are many loving ones. I had 2 shift changes during my labour and the 1st and 3rd ladies were superb...middle one couldn't have given a sh*t and I wished she'd been assigned to anotehr area.

Grr - I hate vacuums and I hate vacuuming! My Dad is due to arrive in a few hours - he is driving down from Kingston, Ontario so I put off vaccuming until today rather than have to do it twice (ok, so I'm inherently lazy, too, hehehhe but I do hate vacuuming!). Of course, the vacuum decides to go on the fritz! The beater bar isn't working and when I turn it on there is a hot, burning smell. So, on top of everything else I have to do to get ready I had to run the vacuum over to the vacuum repair shop so I can get it back for next week. Instead of vacuuming, I had to broom sweep all of the carpets and then go over everything with the carpet sweeper which doesn't have enough power to really vacuum well, hence sweeping before hand. Boy, I have got my exercise today! Ok - finished the dusting, cleaned the kitchen - just have to do our bathroom, water the plants, sweep the porch and take a shower before starting dinner. He should be here in about 3 hours - I think I will have enough time to do it all - if I get off the computer now! smile.gif wink.gif tongue.gif

There are some good HOA's not all are evil. One just has to do research! Prior to anytime that I have bought,i have always gone knocking on doors to find out about the neighborhood. Some of the areas we are looking to buy are HOA's and the areas are kept up extremely well, they are more into keeping the area kept up,and not so much into policing neighbors. I'm a big neat freak, so I like my yard kept up,lol

Another thing when it does come to associations, very few people show up to meetings!! So when the association is trying to set up an agenda, they get very little feedback, then these people what to bytch about it,lol We had our annual condo association meeting in January, and guess what, besides the 3 "executive" members, only 2 of us owners showed up,lol Luckily our association is very well run.

Out where we are looking to buy a house in MD,may of the neighborhoods are HOA,was really surprised about that. We would prefer not to reside in a HOA! There are good/bad points of them, and if people are reasonable, they have the opportunity to be really good, but we all know that not everyone is reasonable. But I must admit the nicer maintained neighborhoods are usually HOA (yes, not in all areas, lol)

Why is there no fricking reciprocity for licensure in any of the states I am looking at jobs in???!!! I am an LCSW in GA and an LICSW in NH. No reciprocity means I have to track down my former supervisors, have them verify supervision hours, plus I have to complete all the other paperwork, college and grad school transcripts, etc. C'mon! I have already done this for 2 states and obtained licensure there. Why do I have to do all this bull*&*t paperwork again?!!! GRRRR.
Of course, what makes this worse is that I am trying to do our taxes (yes I know I procrastinated) and also filing to remove conditions on my husband's green card, plus applying for more financial aid for the endless medical bills related to Declan's surgery. I am SWAMPED with paperwork and the idea of more makes me want to hide.

Ya it sucks, same goes for Nursing, but there are what is called "compact states" and your license is good in them as well. The others you just have to apply, and fork over more $$$$$$. Its all a ttl $$$$ grab. As I have stated many times before, their is no "United" in the "States"

Now I can only hope that he doesnt follow thru with this. My lawyer thinks he is doing this to test the waters to see if he can try to get more out of this. She thinks if I stay strong and keep my entitlement he may just give up on that. Since I made the agremeent with him that Id be payign for airfare for the kids to see him and he wouldnt have to pay section 7 expenses (half childcare, half children activities, etc). If I stay up here in Canada not only am I going to be keeping what Im entitled to, but the courts are not going to make me pay the airfare for him to see the kids since its his job thats moving him around.. and he is still going to have to pay those section 7 expenses. So she thinks its just a test. But I think for someone whos spending $300 an hour on a lawyer, why pay to test it. Only time will tell.

So can you move anywhere in canada you wish without his consent?? I know not to many good paying jobs in the Kingston/Greenwood area. I believe from ur previous posts, it sounds like he doesn't want a lot to do with the kids, so if that is correct, he is probably just testing you, and trying to be a jerk, so stick it back at him and go for the max!!

So.......my ex dh (darn husband) is a huge dimwat! The idiot loves to play games with his lawyer, and my lawyer decided to provide proof to his lawyer about him lying and contradicting himself and his lawyer didnt even wanna see it. So... I am sick and tired of trying to negotiate on assets/debts outside of court (because he cant afford for it to go court) but at this time Im done with it. Im SO lookin forward to going to court!
The dimwat doesnt want me to touch any of the pension, doesnt want me to have equity of the house, doesnt want to pay me spousal support (ive been a stay at home mom for 6 years), and on top of it wants me to take on a big amount of the matrimonial debt. Nuh-uh! I told him the best I would do is drop the pension and my half of the equity of the house, and he can have the debt.
This divorce is drivin me batty - my doc gave me a lovely supply of anxiety meds

Thank God our wedding isnt planned until next February - because I dont see this divorce gettin finalized in the next few months. Its been 15 months now of battling it out with negotiations. I just want OUT of this seperation and finally marry my soul-mate.

When I went through my divorce, i was told by my lawyer, that if my ex had wanted half of my pension, she would have been entitled to it! Plus half of my CPP (while we were together) but luckily we had a very friendly termination of our belongings and she didnt want half of my pension. We had no kids--just animals to split up,lol If he is being a jerk, take him to court. If it were I, i wouldnt even be talking to him, or be negotiating, let ur lawyer do that, lol One can only be nice for so long.

Rather than a vent, this is just really a weird story.

So, we go to RBC to get a pre-approval for the mortgage - fine. They do that but the mortgage woman is very vague about things like terms and interest rates. For instance she quoted us 5.75 but as most of you know the interest rates dropped the other day so I asked her if the one she quoted would drop too - guess not - she never really answered me.

Secondly, I found out the other day that they sell your mortgage on. I actually had to come out and ask her - she was not volunteering this information.

Also at one point I mentioned to the realtor that I was going to contact a mortgage broker, after she mentioned she was going to meet one she knew after she showed us some houses. I called said broker - she was going to call me back the same day, she never did - she did however call the realtor back?

Then! When I go to talk to ms mortgage again the other day, she said 'and who will you be getting your mortgage through' - I said, RBC (and i'm thinking - umm i'm talking to you about mortgages) - she replies, something like - you know these people (banks that have forclosed) will not look at a mortgage from a broker (note: I, of course, never mentioned to her that I was talking to anyone else about mortgages).

So I have apparently come upon a little tight knit group of some kind - so I think I will call another broker today laughing.gif

It is actually a fairly common occurrence that whomever u have ur mortgage with--wil sell your mortgage to another company. Doesnt really effect you, as your still bound by the same contract obligations! Were with SunTrust, and they say they don't "sell" your mortgage, but I belive they actually do, just that you always deal with them??? What I have found weird is, that before when we refinanced, or got the initial mortgage, our rate was locked in then, and as soon as it weas locked, that was the rate you got, even if it went down! (I know in Canada, if it went down before closing, you got the lower rate) BUT, talking to Sun trust now out of curiosity about refinancing, they wont lock in until like very close to the clsong date, which they said couild be from 1.5 to 2 months down the road, weird!! oh well
