I'm trying to think. Now that you mention it, I've only ever seen it with domestic flights. We had to go inside for international flights.

I've never been able to use curbside check-in when flying from Texas to Canada, so I have to assume it's only there for domestic flights.

Interestingly enough, some airlines count Canada under the "domestic" banner. I'd prefer that, actually. It'd cut down on the taxes and fees when flying back and forth. tongue.gif

I have used curbside with Northwest when flying out of Reagan to Saskatoon! I find they rarely weight the bags, lol

Last night I made a hotel reservation for a night, for after we have moved our stuff out of the house. I did it online at the hotel website, all good.

Well after discussing it for a few minutes we decided that it would be a good idea to spend the night before at the hotel as well, since all our stuff should be packed at that point and check in time isn't until 1:00 the next day and the movers will be here etc.

So I call the hotel directly. She was soooo rude, first she picks up the phone and is talking to someone else, then after a while she says HELLO - name of hotel. I explain I would like to change our reservation.

'I can't do that for you, you will have to contact your travel agent'

Me: 'We don't have a 'travel agent' - I reserved the room online'.

'I don't mean an actual travel agent that you hired, I mean whoever you reserved with, I can't change it here'.

'I reserved it through your (hotel's) website directly'.

'Yes, but you will have to call your travel agent (or something else silly) - if I change it for you here they will have already charged your credit card and there is nothing I can do about that'

What?? So I say I will just call the 800 number for the hotel. But honestly - did she even think about anything she said before she spoke, what she said made zero sense!

Anyway, I called the main number and sorted it out - sort of - I have two nights confirmation by email, but each night is in a different email, so have to call them back today to make sure they have it right.

Funny thing is, I had spoken to her a couple of hours earlier (about early check in) and she was really nice.

jeez, women, who can figure them out??? lol

It's easy to say "complain to the management, don't take it out on the employee" when you're not in the situation at that point in time and frustration.

It's the same as the kids and parents who scream at me when the price of parking goes up, though. Not my ###### fault as that was an administrative decision and I'm merely an employee.

But, someone hired him. At the end of the day, someone hired him. Complain to them.

And don't start making generalizations of what people should and should not speak. I'd like to see you get a job overseas in Germany and 6 months from now speak fluent German. Should you not get work because you can't speak fluent German? That's silly.

And welcome to my life in Quebec tongue.gif lol

I moved back here after being gone for a long time..and tryign to get a job since january has sucked..My french is not good enough for them..go figure. I can talk to french ppl and they can more or less understand me..for some stuff i kinda wing it..but thats not good enough..they want FLUENT french..in fact..i go to a store..and no matter how much i speak english..i get replied to in french as well..

not that i hate french ppl i don't..in fact some of my friends are / were french. However due to the language laws here it makes living here retardedly frustrating and stupid. and the only jobs atm are ones in restaruants etc which hi turnover rates....you can tell me how to cook your food..but i will have not understood a damn thing you said..although it may have sounded nice lol. bah..my little rant for the day tongue.gif

I just assumed it was the neighbors house and tried to go back to bed. Got up and Dale's ear is torn up and there is blood on the driveway outside. Thast why one should protect their FB accounts and not just make them open for public viewing! I belive, if you add any of those FB applications, then you really open urself up, as then you can be found on Google and other search engines. of course if you keep ur info private, they may be able to find you, but cant see ur FB posts! BUT as in ur case, ur hubbys account wasnt "private" bu topen to public viewing, then of course they can see some of ur posts via him! Pretty sad that others enjoy causing pain to others!!

Damn you verizon!! So initially we were to get Verizon FIOS (cable, tv and phone) installed this past Tuesday! tech shows up 2.5 hrs LATE (window as from 0800-noon) he says "ya, thought it was a condo, I dont do condos!!!!, another tech wil have to do it!!!" ok fine!! I'm an easy going guy! So another tech shows up and is like "why wouldn't the last guy do it????" Dont ask me, you guys are the "experts" So he states, I can come back tomorrow and do it. fine!! So he shows up on time! I start askign questions, and he is like, "that doesn't matter to you,as your not getting phone service!" YES I AM!!! blank look over his face! but states he can still do it! Then we start talking about TV in our bedroom and office, which requires a convertor box, WHICH he doesnt have!! So he calls up someone else to bring them over to my place!! It just seemed to be 1 thing after another! Wasn't the techs fault, it was the person who took my order! Not very good customer service at all! But soo far soo good! Still have some tinkering to do with my TIVO HD box--the FIOS comes in too strong, so one has to fool around with attaching attenuators to the back of the TIVO HD box!! can't live without my TIVO,lol They had (maybe stil do) a great deal on the TIVO HD--$500 included the unit and lifetime service!

Off to Middletown (NEWPORT) RI tomorrow. Depart around 2100, that way no traffic!

One has to remember that YOU are in control (99.9% of the time), your not the one that NEEDS the car. They are the ones that NEED to seel a car to make a living! Been a pricey and pain in the butt here, lol! Had to replace the front brakes in the Scion and chg the oil, etc. Our camry is next up for inspection and I have a feeling it will require new front brakes as well as it is due.

Last week our water heater bit the dust, knew that as it leaked! Leaked right down to the lady below us, ouch. No real damage, and lucky she likes us! BUT they installed the new water heater incorrectly, so it leaked! 2nd floor condos and above, according to 'code" must have a pan, and pipe leading from the pan to pipes---thus, you according to theory, if it breaks, you dont flood out ur neighbors below you! Well the kid that installed the heater, didnt pay much attention, and the pan was to high for the heater---thus it put pressure on the plastic outflow valve--thus that valve was resting on the pan---so about a weak later, that valve broke off, and water everywhere. As well he didnt glue the pipe that lead from the pan to the wall, so thats where the water came out! fun stuff!! BUT, the owner of the company came by and admitted it was thier fault! So they have cleaned it up, getting new flooring in my laundry room, and another new water heater! probably look better than it did before, lol! Just a pain as this happened on Sunday, so we have been without hot water since then! I dont mind cold showers, wife refuses too, and showers at her close by brothers place, lol Hopefully that sage will come to an end today!

On the bright side, got a new Vizio LCD HD, Tivio HD and Verizon FIOS gets installed next Tuesday! Comes with the NHL network, sweet!! Not sure if one actually gets live games on the NHL network or not???? Anyone know?? As I know they have another option called NHL center Ice, which does show live games!

Of course we were just friends but I can understand why that line is there though and why you shouldn't cross it because it was hard seeing her as my teacher during the week when on weekends we'd go to shows together and sometimes even drink together... it wasn't like party-hard-highschool drinking - she taught me about martinis and classy stuff. laughing.gif

I emailed them and let them know I was in a time crunch as I needed to buy tickets etc, and could they inform me of my interview date as soon as it had been set. It was very easy and they usually email back within 2 business days. Their email address is: vancouverk@state.gov. Remember, when emailing them you need to have: Attn: K visas VAC2009.... (whatever your file number is) in the subject line. Otherwise they won't look at it. I learned that the hard way! Good luck. They were pretty quick when we had our interview. Hopefully they're as quick now!
