there is a really neat product on the market called Allerpet. This is supposed to help people who have allergies to cats and dogs. It is a liquid that you put on a cloth and rub all over the animal. It is supposed to help counteract the allergens. There are also 'allergen free' cats, although they can be quite expensive. Basically they are hairless so their coats feel like suede. The breeds are Cornish Rex, Devon Rex and Sphynx. A colleague of mine had a Devon Rex because her daughter was highly allergic even though she loved cats. This cat solved the problem and everyone was happy.

We have 2 Siberians which are suppose to be for cat allergy suffers! Works for my wife who is allergic to "normal" cats! She had a slight reaction at first, but nothing compared to other cats! A Siberian starts around $500 My ex was allergic to cats as well, lol and we tried allerpet, didnt work for her!! I actually used to bath those cats, man, that sure was fun, not!!

Well our min-golf, batting cages, driving range gig went well out near Dulles centre. Mini-golf course was not very challenging, rather plain. batting cages were great and driving range was nice, as it has the "automatic balls" the balls rolled out from the bin, and right onto the tee, which was adjustable in height, pretty cool. Too bad the mini-golf course was not a bit more challenging!! But for a ttl of $18, was a great deal, ty groupon.com

Here are our two Siberians. Bella turns 3 in Sept, she is the Orange one. Kipper turns two in Dec. They are slow maturing cats, not attaining full weight till around 5 yrs of age. And expected weight for males can be in the 15-20 lb range.

The more I see Siberians the more I wonder if Lion and Bear have a Siberian parent rather than a Maine ####### - the size would be right, the appearance is right and the slow maturation is right as well. When did yours develop their long coats? Were they born with them or did they develop when they were around 6 to 7 months old?

They are very beautiful, btw, and the Kipper looks very much like Bear facially and confirmation wise - and fur wise!

We got bella a bit older, think around 16 weeks of age, and Kipper around 12 weeks, and I think they always had long hair, lol

Kipper just had his belly shaved!! he hates to be brushed so he tends to get matts! Well about a month back, we tried to cut a matt, just as we were cutting the matt ( 2 person evolution) he squirmed! Long story short, tore a bit of his skin! $600 vet bill!! From now on, will just take him to the groomers. if you google siberian kittens, you will find many pics

CanadaCandian marrying American in U.S.
Thats where the confusion is---some are not talking about the Ops situation! Yes knowingly coming to the USA to marry and then just stay without a visa is illegal. BUT (not referring to the (OP) coming to the USA, getting married and then leaving is fine. many of us, including me, have done it this way

CanadaCandian marrying American in U.S.
You CAN enter the USA with the intent of getting married. Many do. Now its up to the POE officer to let you in or not! I entered the USA knowingly to marry, then left and started the process! Did I tel the PEO officer my intentions? No. Did he ask, No!

CanadaTwo different stories, one ruined wedding. (Posting again and with updates)
k3/cr-1 are probably both running close to the 8 mo-1 yr time-frame!! k3 is pretty much obsolete, may be beneficial for someone that lives in the western provinces as Vancouver does K3's as well and they tend to be faster than Mtl.

As others have stated the USCIS 1-800 # are referred to as the "mis-information" #'s they give out terrible/incorrect information all the time.

1 thing you learn with immigration dont plan your wedding until you have the visa, OR get married then start the process. best of luck

So I got the email today, finally! My wife and kids have scheduled interviews for Friday December 18th, 2009. This is the great news, the downside is its a Friday? With being on a Friday, when will my family receive the package so they can cross the boarder? It is sooo close to Christmas and I would love to have them here by then? When does the Embassy close for the Holidays? Soo many questions so little time.

Please confirm the following:
O = The original document has been received and accepted as meeting post requirements?
C = Direct inquiries to your consulate / embassy?

congrats! As you know they mail out the approved visa! One can always ask to pick it up, 99.9% they will say no, but doesnt hurt right! Otherwise hopefully they would mail it out early the next week would be my guess. Maybe they would get it in the mail that Friday as it is the holidays, and they may be in a festive mood! :-)

When i did my cr-1 back in dec 2004, I went thru a small POE in Maine and they had no clue on what to do! They had to get out the binder, and eventually had to cal another POE to see how to do it. Still it didnt take that long and it all worked out

We own our condo, but a few of the units are rented out (as will ours soon as we are in the market for a house) last spring 1 of the units water line broke, and flooded their unit and the unit below them. The unit below had the renters. They had NO insurance (South American family, super nice, husband/wife both worked 2 jobs, great family) AND the owner didnt have any insurance!!! Well guess what, the owner tries to drastically raise the rent on them so they move, BUT he stated he was keeping their down payment because he lost so much $$$ on the flood--which wasnt their fault! What a complete jerk. Not to toot my horn, but I found the VA renters rights webpage and forwarded that to them! Just ticks me off that he was trying to take advantage of them, they speak very little English.

I really hate our landlords. They are trying to scare us into paying the gas bill that they are responsible for. I just got a call where he asked me to pay "my part" of the gas bill. Well, if you can furnish me an itemized bill that shows the allocation of gas to each unit, yes, I will be happy to pay my portion of it. But, since you are unable to, as per the state code, it is your responsibility. I know the law, but I have a feeling they are still going to be as$hats about this.

So my TD Visa information was stolen and $1,000 worth of purchases were made at different Walmarts in Duluth, Georgia on Monday. I have never been to Duluth, Georgia. In fact, I was distinctly in Ontario, Canada on Monday. The last time I used that card was over a year ago in Europe. I have been reviewing old statements trying to find where it could have been compromised. The Visa Fraud people say it could have been that my card information just got into the wrong hands because I still, physically, have that card. I feel so violated. sad.gif

If someone knowingly did it, sure I would love to see them get caught, lol Wouldn't hurt my feelings! truth is if someone "knowingly" came in and just kept their mouths shut they can very easily get away with it, just play dumb! Like I stated many time before, we saw an immigration attorney here in DC and that is exactly what she told us to do. Hmm Didn't sound right to us. Yes people do have a right to feel ticked, but I have better things to worry about, lol And if they do get caught, their lives are then truly going to be miserable. Its pretty much impossible to compare USA vs Canada healthcare! Lot of it depends where one lives! Some places in Canada have a better dr to patient ratio. Same thing happens in the USA. If one has decent insurance in the USA, your ahead of the game. I know many that have decent healthcare insurance and they do NOT want reform at all, their opinion is screw those that don't have insurance, its not their problem. And one can see their side of it (even if it is crude) Life isn't fair, people starving in Ethiopia, while one guy just finishes off his 10 Big whooper here! I had no problems with healthcare in Canada, and I have no problems now. Guess if i lost my job, and so did my wife, ya that may change my mind, then we just move back to Canada, lol As a RN, and when patients find out I'm from Canada they always ask about the healthcare, and I say the good and bad. And I do ask occasionally how soon they get to see a Dr. Some get in right away, other have long waits as well. never going to be perfect.

Here is my problem with American healthcare. I went to renew my birth control prescription last week. The doctor decided that he didn't want to do the full-pap because mine from Canada was done at the end of September. But I was out of BC, the reason for my visit. So he gave me a refill for 3 months and said, come back in October and I'll give you a year's worth when we do the pap. Fine. . . . . .

But before I saw the doctor, the nurse had me take a pregnancy test to see the results with the doctor before he could refill my prescription. Okay, maybe that's normal but in the 13 years I've been on orthro, I've never had to take a pregnancy test. The doctor just always asked if there was a possibility that I could be pregnant and if I said no, that was enough.

So I get the bill in the mail yesterday. $35 for that freaking pregnancy test and $95 for the "exam". Now my insurance paid for all but $30 of it. But was the $35 pregnancy test really necessary? I mean I knew I wasn't pregnant. Heck I could buy my own test at Wal-Mart for a heck of a lot less.

Actually (not a vent but a sharing of frustration about the SAVE system), I went to update my SSN today with my citizenship certificate as we were told to do that asap after citizenship, and before we applied for a passport since I need to send the certificate off with the passport application. I wait about half an hour ( not too bad, actually), go up, hand in the application, my ID and my citizenship certificate. A few minutes later she came back and said that they will have to hold my application for 2 weeks (not the certificate, fortunately) because the SAVE system hasn't been updated yet with my citizenship information and it generally takes about 2 weeks, so even though they have the certificate, it isn't good enough until they can verify the information with immigration. And, even though I'm 'done' with immigration, I'm still not yet done. She said I would receive my new card about 10 days after they submit the information in two weeks. Don't know why I need a new card - nothing wrong with the one I have and it isn't restricted. Oh well.

I think thats #######--as i went like the next day after my Citizenship ceremony to update my SSN info. Took all of 4 minutes!!
