Travel disruptions next week & on-going disruptions at Bond Street Station

Hi All,

Just wanted to remind those who have an interview next week that there is another three day walk-out next starting at 9 pm on 5 th May, unless they get their heads bashed together beforehand. So anyone down there then should be prepared for delays.

On another transport related issue that is affecting Bond Street Tube Station only - see below:

From 23 April to late June: Central line trains will not stop at the station while while a lift shaft is constructed
From July to early December: Jubilee line trains will not stop at the station while extensive work to improve access to the Jubilee line platforms is carried out
The station will then operate on an exit and interchange only basis until the end of 2014 to enable future tunnelling works

As this is the nearest tube to the Embassy it could hinder quite a few when attending their interviews!

We have our interview tomorrow (2/5/2014) so just missed out on the disruptions!

Basically you register the phone numbers you want to call from (landlines or mobiles) - as many as 10 different ones I think and choose a local USA number to assign to his girlfriends land line number in Brazil and when he wants to call her he just uses the "Local USA Number' - My wife's mother uses this from the US to her friends over here (UK) as they do not have internet and at 75 has no wish to get it. My wife and I use a variety of methods to talk/text/type/see each other - but for persons with no internet or smart phone Skype to Go is a good solution and you pay month on month for the subscription so can cancel at anytime.

Just search for Skype to go in a search engine. He could even just buy Skype credit for the first time just to try it out - the rates are dearer Skype Credit - 2.8¢¹/min (3.2¢ incl. VAT) - but it would prove it works OK.

How crucial is the ACRO check for the Medical?

I had my medial yesterday and there was a gentleman who had an incorrect format of UK Police Certificate which they would not accept.

He was permitted to have the medical take place that day regardless, but was told he would need to personally bring in the correct certificate when he had it before the results could be completed and sent to the Embassy. So, if you are not too far away from London I guess it would be a good option to try for your scheduled appointment and drop by later with the Police Cert - maybe that would work for you. YMMV of course!

Which address to put - DS 260

Thanks for help nich nick and ivory boy - things are moving fairly quickly in the states so sounds like it will be worth me waiting a week or so to see if there is a confirmed address there.

Have to say the DS260 pages that I have completed took hours, as unlike the paper form it needed street addresses and postcodes for everywhere you lived since 16... I should have moved around less!

Thanks again for your advice.

Let's home the likely US Government shutdown doesn't happen or we'll all be stuck in a pile for a long time...grrr

Which address to put - DS 260

I would put the addresses where you are most likely to be physically present and where you are most likely to pick up any essential communications - mailing of Green Card etc - rather than anything temporary.

When you have completed the DS260 ensure you send a letter to the Immigrant Visa Unit at the Embassy containing the completed DS2001 form, a printout of the confirmation page you will get when you have finished the DS260 and a cover letter stating your case number, email address, and date of your medical.

My first letter I sent by first class mail was never received at the Embassy - I had to resend it and mailed it by 'signed for' which arrived the next day. I'd recommend that!

DS-260 filed, waiting for interview (split topic)

HI all. I filled in the DS260 on Sep 13 and my CEAC update now reads "Ready for interview". I did mail a hard copy DS 2001 to the Embassy also and my medical results should be with them on Sep 16th. Curious to see how quickly the interview date gets to me...

Should I email about interview date?

Thank you all for your responses and advice! It's definitely appreciated! I think I may call DOS tomorrow. We sent in all of our paperwork and they received it on Oct 4th. Then my fiance had his medical on Oct 9th and they updated right after that. And the most recent update was on Oct 23rd but I don't know what for. Does that sound like a typical timeline?

Just FYI, I have had around 12 or 13 CEAC date status updates - and as of Nov 2nd have no interview scheduled yet. I hope you are lucky but don't get too excited just yet!! The Embassy received all my documents on Sep 27th and my medical was Sep 16th. Nov 4th and still waiting.

Hi all! Thank you for your information on post-interview! He was approved and our case was updated on Nov 26th (the day of his interview)! Then the new case was created the next day and then updated again on Nov 29th to "Issued." I'm just praying that maybe God can create a little miracle for the holidays and send our mail fast. Hope everyone is doing ok!

Sounds like we are on the same timeline - my interview was 26th - approved and CEAC updated to 'issued' on 29th morning. I am packed and ready to get back to work so will fly the day after I get the passport back!

how much relationship prove should i take to my interview

I was asked if I had any photographs or 'phone records' to show. I didn't have either with me (I explained that if I was allowed to have my cellphone I could show him 100s! of photos!) but he was happy with some joint financial agreements we have together instead.

I think perhaps because we are a same-sex relationship perhaps could have had some influence on the questions here..

Hello everyone, long time lurker here and Im really grateful that there is a community like this. People here saved me a handful of times when I was applying for my naturalization.

Anyway,I filed (3)i130 for my wife of 8 years and 2 kids(priority date 3/25). They are in the philippines right now and I had seen a few times in various forums that petitions for Filipinos are"auto expedited". Is there any truth behind this? I know American government wants to help the people who were directly hit by typhoon haiyan but according to what i read, ALL filipinos are auto expedite right now. True or should i take it with a grain of salt?

Thank you. Its still showing initial review online but despite the TSC's imperfections, i have to give them credit for approving my case in two months. In other words, im taking back all the bad stuff i said about them haha

I think Philippines petitions should be expedited.

Im pretty sure that It is expedited. But then again, there's a lot of factors that can delay your petition like incomplete paperworks or background check issues.
