PhilippinesUSEM website update
Hi guys!

I just looked at the USEM website and it has been updated as of 11/05/08. A few hours ago, there was an entry for having documents verified at NSO. I went to Metrobank on the way to picking up my daughter from school just to get the payment slips and make an inquiry then back home. Logged on again to the site to look for the payment instructions.......and it isn't there anymore.

What to do now?

Also, how does one check if USEM has received our papers? I tried checking the appointment schedule, entered our case numbers but it says that our case numbers are not on the appointment list. Can we track the packet NVC has supposedly sent to USEM? My husband has received his copy of the appointment letter and it was dated October 28, and it said that they had forwarded our papers to USEM already.

Yes, I will. My daughter is not a morning person and does not have much appetite for too early a breakfast.

It's a glitch in the system. My medical exam was also scheduled at 12:00am on the day of my interview. You and your daughter can have you medical anytime from now. Good luck on your interview. smile.gif

Thank you very much. You truly are a hero star_smile.gif

BTW, I also suggest that you go to SLEC very early (around 6:00 am). During my medical, I arrived at SLEC at 7:00 and was already numbered 126 on the registration queue. Furthermore, be prepared for a long day. During my first day, I was finished at around 7:30 pm. For the second day, I was asked to return at 2:00 pm. And lastly, due to the number of examinees your second visit may or may not be scheduled the following day. Hoping that everything will go well for both of you during your medical. smile.gif

PS. Snacks and beverages aren't allowed inside. Only bottled water is allowed. Have a hearty breakfast before going to SLEC.

Again, another quick question:

I went to the USEM site and our appointment dates now appear on the IV schedule. I am confused though. This is what it looks like:

Case Number: MNL---------
Visa Classification : CR1 (CR2 for my daughter)
St. Luke's Appontment Date : DECEMBER 9, 2008 12:00AM
Embassy Appointment Date: DECEMBER 9, 2008 6:30AM

If one will look at it, we should have our medicals 12am of the same day as our interview????? wacko.gif

Some clarification please?

Thanks again in advance.

Am taking out the bubble layer of these packets....

Printing out 4-5 emails (some contiguous) for each month since June 06, same with the chat logs till present time.

120 pictures all in all, not including pics of my daughter and myself.

Full copies of the I-130's, ds230's, AOS, DS3032, G325a's, even the receipts of the AOS and IV bill.

Plane tickets, hotel/resort bookings, show tickets, even gas receipts, restaurants, wedding receipts, yes, even that ride-all-you-can wrist tag from Storyland.

Phone call logs, insurance letter from his insurance company, credit card company letters, bank statements (including my own)

Oh...and cards from the nursing home staff, well-wishes from relatives abroad...ecards, actual cards and emails from my mother-in-law

Yeah you can do that too but I suggest bring some of it. I wasn't ask snail mails during my interview but a friend of mine who had the same interview as I am was asked for original cards and mails. She just photo copied them and the Co told her we are not going to give you photo copy visa. wink.gif Different Co requires different evidence. Just be ready.

Good Luck!

Thank you. I do intend on bringing the actual cards and letters, and some of the bubble-mail packets.

Hi guys.

Quick question: I have received several letters and what-nots in bubble-mailer packets. These are just too bulky to take along to the interview. Can I just take pictures of them to show the CO if asked? I will have no problems bring the cards and letters.

Thanks for your input.

They'll ask you for your letter, passport, pictures, etc. before they let you in and then give you a form to fill out (hence the black pen). Go to the registration queue and submit the form. Then you'll be given an instruction sheet complete with a flowchart of the whole process.

Some say really earlyin the morning, some say after lunch. My daughter is not a morning person who has not much appetite for breakfast, and I do not know how she will take to having to stand in line at dawn.

So...what is the best time to go to SLEC?

Hey Gracey,

I had my medical last Nov. 12 then I arived in Manila from Cebu at 12 noon then checking in the hotel then I went to SLEC around 4 pm and started my medical immediately and im done at 5 pm so just 1 hour girl...Then the ff. day i came back at 1 pm for immunization and oh it takes too long around 7 hours of waiting but thats ok....
Hope it gives you an idea....
Goodluck to you and to ur daughter...

I am checking into the hotel probably around 2pm Monday Nov 24th and I plan to go to SLEC after checking in just to have an idea where it is. I guess it won't be bad if I bring the passports and photos and the appt letter, just in case we can be accomodated? Oh...and is a copy of the appt letter ok?

They ask my passport, appointment letter and the letter that you received for the interview in US Embassy and dont forget to bring 3 2x2 picture with a white background for the 2 of you ...I stay in Lotus Garden Hotel and it is a walking distance in St. Luke... I will go back there on the 24th for my interview on 25th...

Hi Gracey! My only concern in going after lunch is that may take more than two days to finish the medical. And even when I came back after the lunch break, queues were still long and as I told you in another post I finished my first day at 7:30pm. I guess you have to bite the bullet on that one. But perhaps others who have actually recently started their medical after lunch may shed further light on this. star_smile.gif

My husband called NVC last week for October and he was told that our case was complete Oct 28th whereupon they said they were going to send it out to USEM. He got his letter 2 days after. Thank you for the advice. I took a look again at my li'l girl's throat and the previously noted redness has lightened already. ATB's must've helped. Filed I-130 July 28, 2008
NOA1 dated July 31, 2008
NOA2 dated August 18, 2008, hard copy received August 25, 2008.

This for both spouse and daughter.

From what I know so far, 21 days approval after filing is quite fast and I had received advice to go for the CR1/CR2-IR1/IR2 route. We have not filed our I-129F yet though we wil be in a couple days due to some unforseen circumstances (aka failure of the postal system). Where are we supposed to file it if our I-130 is now en route to the NVC?

Also it is my understanding that the USEM will waive the K3 application if there is already an approved Immigrant I-130 petition. How/why so? What should we do now? unsure.gif

Our I-130 was approved fast too (21 days, dated Aug 18, hard copy Aug 25) and we had not even filed the I-129F yet. Yes, we also wanted a K3. YEs, we have seen the timelines of the CR1/CR2. But, considering that our NOA2 came in fast, it could be presumed that the entire process at the NVC would be fast too. My husband called the NVC today and we already have a case number smile.gif I would think that being that meticulous with our documentation could've been key. Hopefully, it works for the NVC process too.

We have opted for the CR1/CR2 route after getting our I130 NOA2.  My concern is my 5-year old daughter.  Her father and I were never married and he has not given any support for her nor has she made much effort to see her, nor does his name appear in her birth certificate.  She has been with me since birth.  When I first applied for her passport in 2003, I was asked to execute an affidavit of illegitimacy but was not looked for when I renewed it.My question is, would I need additional documentation when I give her DS-230 to NVC?

to be sure, just try to get cenmar for you and your husband. it will take 1-2 weeks to be delivered to you, you don't want to cause any delay on your visa right? you can apply it online at e-census.

get it online...takes about 5 days if you're here in manila. you really need that.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionCouple of small questions; wording, and tax transcripts.

Just about to file for ROC, and a couple of minor items:

Who is/are the "petitioner/s" here? Are we both petitioners? Is it still only the USC who is petitioning on behalf of the alien, or, as we are "filing this petition together"(as per the wording on I-751) can we say we are both petitioners? Seems like such a silly point, but I don't want any confusion with how we are referring to ourselves on our cover letter.

With regards to tax transcripts - should we send the originals, or copies? We made photocopies of them and were going to send them (and of course they do ask for copies of all your evidence, not originals), but when it comes to transcripts that we could potentially re-order, should we send the originals? What did you do?

Thank you!

In the cover letter, I put both hubby and myself as senders and we both signed the letter. After all, it is a JOINT petition. If you acquired residency through marriage and you ar still together, you and your spouse must file jointly
according to the I-751 instructions.

As for the tax transcripts, I made photocopies of the transcripts only and sent those along with the letter attached by IRS. Did not photocopy the letter itself. I am keeping the original transcripts...am not good at waiting for another transcript :star:
