kasi nag argue kami ng asawa ko... kung ako pag gutom c JM feed ko sya.. tapos sabi naman ng asawa ko we need to wait 3hrs..
kaya nakaniyak talaga ako.. kasi y we need to wait 3 hrs.. tapos gusto nya pag umiyak hayaan muna.. eh ako d ko kaya kasi patagalin..

he is planning to schedule my baby feeding time, sleeping time..

:-(

Tell hubby that babies that young don't settle into a routine just yet, although some are beginning to. Baby will dictate what he wants when he wants it, not Mommy and Daddy :star: And you don't need to wait 3 hours till next feeding. Babies cry for a variety of reasons; he's either: wet, hungry, tired, uncomfortable or in pain, wants to be held, overstimulated, sleepy. Read his cries (or try to). You'll note that each feeling has a different cry. Short cries usually tell you he's hungry or is uncomfortable or wet. It's ok not to pick him up right away when he cries. Try to wait a while and see if he'll calm down by himself. Si Maizy, iiyak tapos titigil sandali, as if trying to calm herself, tapos iiyak ulit.

Hi All,

I'm still in pain, physically and emotionally. I loss our babies (naniniwala kami na kambal ang ipinagbuntis ko) right when I passed two pieces (but connected to each other) thumb size blood clots on Saturday night. After my husband and I looked at it he then told me that I miscarried. Yesterday, we went to the doctor and even though we already knew (but we still hoped) ang sakit parin when the doctor told us that they can see no babies in the ultrasound (vaginal). There were no babies at all. Ang sakit...tapos during ultrasound, we found out that I had an ectopic pregnancy (also known as tubal pregnancy or an extrauterine pregnancy) which the reason why I was bleeding with cramps and lower back pain. We're so sad that we loss our babies but we are also thankful to God that I'm already safe now. Kasi kung hindi, kahapon din mismo tuturukan agad ako ng gamot to end my pregnancy which would be very difficult for us to let the doctor kill our babies.

Binigyan din ako ng OB ko ng Methotrexate shots (on my hips) to stop the tissue cells from growing. Kinuhanan din ako ng blood to test my hCG level and pap smear to determine infection and abnormality on my cervix and thank God the results were fine except my hCG level was high (6,000).
Pero, they're still gonna do some more lab tests on me bcoz the doctor too found out that my fallopian tube is enlarge and this one makes us really feel nervous as hell as we know this is more complicated.

RR, thank you so much for asking me if my baby and I were ok....our babies are gone. Pero happy na rin kami coz we got to see them.

i'm so sorry for your loss. things happen for a reason and it is not for us to question God's ways. On the other hand, you are safe; an ectopic pregnancy can be very dangerous. Have faith. Take time to heal physically and emotionally. My sympathies to your husband too. (F)

Hello mga mommies!!!!

kumusta kayong lahat??????????

Doc gracey, ask ko lang kasi breast feeding ka..ginigising mo ba yun baby mo before, every 2 or 3 hours to breast feed??????? my baby he is 11 days...problem ko sa kanya while im breastfeeding him, natutulog,he usually latch for 15 minutes only...

Posted Image

ganyan din si maizy, maski kagigisin lang nya. pag 2 hours di pa gumigising, i wake her up, pwera pag gabi. during the day pag nakikita ko na inaantok na naman sya while feeding, i rub her back or her palms or the soles of her feet para gumising. i feed her for at least 30 mins tapos ipa-burp ko before moving her to the other breast.

Elow mga mommies my ask ako..

thanks

You're okay, shiela. i think i stopped spotting the other week pa. yellowish discharge na lang now. pansin ko, nung sige-sige ako nag-breastfeed, madaling nawala yung bleeding as expected :)

about poop...again, formula-fed babies tend to pass less poop than breastfed ones. also, formula can cause constipation due to its protein and iron content. i've no problems with maizy's poop. although once a day lang ang poop nya, it's soft to almost watery and "lump sum" ba kung mag-poop
Am still breastfeeding with supplemental feeding. so far, 3-4oz ang napa-pump ko although minsan lang ako mag-pump. pag nasa bahay lang kmi, maizy spends the day feeding at the breast with at least one supplemental bottle, one bottle before bedtime about two hours after breastfeeding and another bottle around 3am. 5am, breast na sya :)

Sheila,

i use that pag nightime, and maizy only wakes twice in the night to feed :) ni-request ko sa MIL ko before maizy was born; "burrito baby" nga tawag ng daddy nya pag nakabalot na sya :D

i thought pag full breastfeeding eh bibigyan nila ng food ang mommy...parang mali ata ang info sa iyo...ako naman sinabi ko agad na formula and breastfeeding ako...so yun...at first i got 3 cans kasi i said 4 to 8 oz lang then the next time i said 8 to 16 oz so they gave me 4 cans...it depends ilang oz ang sasabihin mo na binibigay mo sa baby mo... then they gave me food too then sabi after 6 months raw eh di na sila magbibigay ng food sa akin...for the baby na lang yun ang sinabi sa akin...

i wasn't given any formula save for that 1 can lang. Even told them that Maizy takes 3 3-4oz feedings at least in a day. I have 1/2 of the big Sam's club can left plus 2 similac advanced and 1 enfamil, 1 genllease, and 1 similac isomil advance. I got $5 off coupons when I got the similac sample can which we intend to use. Sabi ni hubby i-register ko din daw sya so that may makuha din sya na sample plus coupons :) sa april ang balik ko sa WIC at which time, siguro pati baby food magbibigay sila. ang sabi sakin if i was not breastfeeding exclusively, hanggang 6 months lang na food ang ibibigay, unlike if breast and bottle feeding. so in april, i'll just tell them na full breastfeeding si maizy but that we still supplement from time to time. Tulad ngayon...my right is really painful kasi nagkasugat dahil itong si Maizy, basta na lang hihila sabay tsup-tsup kaya ayun

we showed just the paystub from one of two of hubby's jobs

hmm...i guess i had some spotting before when i was waiting for my period i thought it was my period but then it only last for two days i guess so after nun bumili na kami ng pregnancy test so yun i was preggy na pala...di ko nga lang alam how many weeks preggy na ako nun...

riza, di naman sya nagrereklamo sa tummy time mas gusto pa nga nya, and during tummy time lang din niya nili-lick yung hand nya pero pag hindi sya naka tummy time eh he never suck his thumb or lick his hand when he gets hungry...we dont want him also.

yes, i did. minimal discharge na lang ngayon :) matagal na na-diyeta si hubby so, ayun  will be having my 6 week check on wednesday. am sure will be asked about birth control options. I don't want the pill...affects milk production...same goes for the injectable. plus, it may induce hypertension later on (lalo at malakas ang family history nyan sa amin). we're still trying to decide what to do...baka mauwi muna kami sa rhythm plus withdrawal although we are considering the Essure which is a permanent fix. Am 39 now and we do no plan to have another child after Maizy due to an even more advanced maternal age (incidence of birth defects increases with age).

I bundled up Maizy this morning to take her out to see the snow kaya lang nakatulog. We had just about 6-8 inches of snowfall overnite. So, eto, just came in from shoveling the pathway and "defrosting" the car...and Alec is sledding in the yard :)

he eat like a PIG hehehe.. ako ang natatakot kasi my sounds talaga.. para bang ma ubusan sya ng milk..

used that for Alec and it always worked so that whenever she had tummyache, she'd ask to have some put on her tummy :)

you may want to try similac advance isomil or enfamil gentlease for gas and fussiness...

Zac was 7.52 lbs. when he was born then he went down to 6.15 lbs. when we left the hospital. After 15 days (Jan. 5th), he weighs more than 9lbs. Next week ko pa malalaman ang weight nya and then balitaan kita :)

hay naku...napapraning lang siguro ako. I've Alec na kasi and i tend to compare the two, and Alec was always in the 90th percentile. Also, people who stop to look at Maizy pag nasa labas kami, some say malaki sya, some say maliit sya, i.e. "she's so tiny!". Ewan, perhaps "she's so tiny" means that kasi basically infant pa sya. She was 8.6 lbs when she was born and went down to 7.49 on discharge then 7.92 5 days later during her first check-up. Last week, 9.2 lbs sya then nung Friday, 10+ lbs. She gained an inch in height.

Philippineswedding process please help, I am begging you

hi guys,

i and my fiancee is planning to get marry here in philippines. I am the beneficiary by the way. My fiancee filed already his leave for february. as we will have our marriage. her employer only allowed her for 12 days.. now heres the problem. earlier today, I went to the local civil registar here in davao city. I asked about the process.. and the lady told me that my future wife shud get a legal capacity to marry from her embassy. we dont have a problem to that. and after which, she will need to file for a marriage license here . here we have a problem., because according to that lady, from the time she files the marriage license, it will take 10 days fo the posting,, after which, since we are doing a civil wedding, they have this raffle thingy every thursday to choose judge gonna marry us.. I figured that with the ten days waiting, plus her travel, like we assume it will be 32 hours tavel one way, plus another 32 hours going back.. it will take him more or less 3 days for the travel alone.. plus the 10 days waiting time..

i really need your advice and help.. can I ask the local civl registrar to waived that 10 days? so when she arrives, all she needs to get is the legal capacity to marry then file for the marriage license and not wait for 10 days? is that possible? please tell me if it is.. or not .. please im begging you..

if there are possible ways, please let me know.. ahead of time..i will truly appreciate your effort replying to my post..

thanks..

hubby had 7 days left in RP when we went to file the legal capacity. I filed the marriage license for us --- i filled up my portion of the license then fed exed it to him to fill up and sign his portion....ohhh...he signed his portion in front of a notary at the Philippine consulate under which Ohio was. They afixed a reda and gold ribbon to thge entire document and he sent it back to me and i filed it. the 10 days is mnandatory...it's a Notice of Marriage posted for 10 days. No way around that. We did not have to go through a raffle as we had approached a judge friend of my uncle's who readily agreed to marry us.

PhilippinesDoes your wife think the US is too cold ?
We arrived in Chicago in April of last year. The day prior, it had snowed some but had melted away by the time we landed. Hubby had heavy coats and gloves ready for us on arrival. That evening, my cousin took me to see downtown Chicago...it was windy and really cold. I think I spent some 10 mins outside the car before telling them that I wanted to get back in the car. I guess coming in the early spring made us able to adjust gradually to the weather here, and adjust to the cold. Now, I could go and take the trash out in just a shirt and jersey pants and flip-flops in below freezing temps (just careful not to slip on the snow-laden pathway). Our daughter sleeps with the fan on, using a thin blanket...and we had purchased an electric blanket for her  I sometimes toss both the blanket and the down comforter to the side in the middle of the night, especially when I was pregnant. I don't really mind the cold...just no wind please.

naku, hindi talaga nya like ang pacifier. problema ko nga itong eating/sleeping habits nya. gusto nya milk parati before sleeping. and talagang umiinom sya hangang makatulog, hindi po ung tipong nakasaksak lang ung bottle sa bibig nya without drinking. gusto ko sana sya i-train not to do it, kaso di talaga sya makatulog. :-/

may ibang suggestion po ba kayo besides pacifier? I also tried feeding him 15-20 mins before bedtime... when bedtime rolls around gusto pa rin nya kumain kahit 1-2oz lang hangang makatulog sya.

Like if I want to cook and mash food for him instead of buying jars of baby food. Panu po ba mag-prep?

Salamat~

Lol...macho!

Babies can start cutting teeth around this time. Get him a teether. Put in the fridge to cool it. He may like that.

Hmm...not a good idea for him to sleep with a bottle in his mouth. Try an orthodontic pacifier.

Except kung magsha shower ako or me bisita hehe.

Me problem pa pala ako...all of these are only happening in FL. First time ko syang binigyan ng bath dito sa FL without his baby bath tub, naku natatakot sya sa big bath tub. Normal ba to? Eh pagbalik namin nito sa VA back to rear facing ang car seat nya.

God Bless!

There are times that Maizy can't stand not having me in her view. Minsan naman, she'll be fine, basta she knows where I am and can go to me. She has been walking for about 3 weeks now and easily navigates between the living room and the kitchen. When I am eating in the kitchen, she'll play on the floor or walke around the kitchen several times, stopping by my seat and smiling before moving on. At times, she'd leave me in the kitchen and go into the living room, only to come back to see me as if making sure I am still there. She's that way even with her Ate. This morning, akala yata nya her Ate was still in the kitchen (I was in my lazy boy) and she dropped her toy on the living room floor and walked to the kitchen. I told her there was nobody there and she came back with a big smile on her face :) When she is playing and I need to be in the kitchen, I would tell her that Mommy has to be in te kitchen before I leave her then tell her again when I am in the kitchen. susunod na lang sya when she wants to. I put a few toys in the kitchen so she can play ther while I prepare meals or clean up. Is much easier now that she can walk :star: Yes, she prefers me to her Daddy but when he comes home at night, she doesn't want him to leave her, even to take his bath, and would cry and "run" after him, leaving me behind. But most times, she prefers to be with me. When Ate is home after school, she would go after her into the kitchen (Ate takes a snack when she comes home) :) Is nice watching them; the 7-year difference isn't there....at least until Ate decides that she would like to curl up on the couch and read (of course, maizy would still make her "kulit" )

No problem changing her nappies in a public restroom; I have a changing pad to cover the changing tables in them. Is impractical for me to take her all the way to the car and change her there, lalo't mabigat sya, and most times it's just me and her. Besides, I have yet to see a dirty, uncared for restroom here :innocent:

As for the carseat, I had to move Maizy into a bigger car seat kasi she is too long na for her infant one. And she only remained rear-facing in it for a very short time kasi long na nga sya. she is forward-facing now and enjoys it. The downside: her head slumps forward most times when she falls asleep (we did everything to prevent that na). And she can readily throw her toys (and her empty bottle) onto the floor (sigh!)

Welcome back!

di naman kasi talaga advisable yung lubid na duyan, lalo for a 10-month old or any baby who is "on-the-go", so to speak. My eldest slept with me in my room when she was a baby, but not in the bed; she was in her crib. so that getting her to sleep by herself when she was bigger was never a problem. Maizy began using her crib when she was 5 months old and stays in her own room. We did not put it at the higher levels but at the lowest level na kaagad as we knew that she could learn to climb and stand in the crib any time. There is virtually nothing in her crib with her save for the mattress and crib sheet and a comforter we laid on the sheet when the weather got cold...no toys whatsoever, even stuffed animals. the bars on her crib are straight, no curves on it which she may learn to climb up on, hence she won't be able to climb out the crib...and she can't it her head between the bars either. She has no problem sleeping in her own room. Of course, andyan ang baby monitor. We never really had her sleep with us in the bed, or if we did, it was just an hour or so. Otherwise, sa bassinet sya. Masasanay kasi if we let her sleep with us in our bed. So her transitioning to her crib and own room was not a problem. :star:

I already thought about of mixing cereal to his baby food kaya lang I'm thinking na baka ma-over na si Zac sa cereal kasi I mix 7 teaspoons of cereal on his 10 oz milk bottle. If I don't do that eh malamang isang luglugan lang yung 10 oz milk nya  Malakas uminom ng milk si Zac, he normally drinks 40 oz of milk a day. Last summer since mainit, he drank 50 oz a day. He is not into juices, I tried pero mga 2 oz a day lang naiinom nya and he will still drink 40 oz of milk.

He spits the baby food in his mouth na which is a sign na he is ready na to eat table food, that was according to what I read. and aside from that, he is in the right age na naman to eat table food. Right now, he enjoy eating baby cookies. I give him cookies in between meals. I'll try fresh fruits and vegetables na rin and also, I have to learn how to cook "lugaw" and "champorado" :P I am thinking he might like those foods. He loves mashed potatoes and mashed squash. My neighbor cooked pinakbet one time then I mashed the "kalabasa" and gave it to him and he oohh so loved it :D

I steamed some veggies (is a better alternative to boiling) and ran them in a Ninja food processor (i love this gadget!) then mixed it with her meats. Fruits na nga lang binibili ko in baby food kasi it's hard to keep fruits plus limited ang selection what with the weather and all. And mahal na ang 3rd stage food, samantalang ang squash e 89cents a pound, green beans are $1.53 a pound (madami na yun a)and baby carrots are $1.58 a pound --- and these will last a long time. I never mixed cereal in maizy's milk as I have read it isn't really a good practice; she eats it with milk...medyo thicker ang ginagawa ko so that mas maraming cereal kesa milk...yung milk nya, hiwalay na pinapainom ko. Cereals are "go" foods which, with what she can do now, kelangang-kelangan nya. She stands by herself and will walk with one hand held. and she has learned how to go up the steps. She has the same car as Zac does (iba nga lang kulay) and she would rather push it while walking than ride on it. Have you gone to the wholesomebabyfood website? You should, if you haven't

Ganyan talaga.

Do you get the mixed foods na? Si maizy, so far she has not refused anything...masibang kumain  She still does not favor peaches but all other foods she takes. I have begun to mix cereal with her baby food veggies at lunchtime to add texture to it as well as fiber and I do the same to her fruit at supper time. Her regimen now is: Breakfast 5 scoops (like the one you use for formula)cereal mixed with 2 oz formula plus 4 oz bottle of fruit (usually combination fruit), Lunch 4 oz veggies (usually combination) with 1-2 scoops cereal in it plus a bottle of meats plus a small bottle of gerber juice, Supper baby food dinner combo plus cereal in her fruit plus juice. She has 2 8-oz bottles of formula during the day then 1 8 oz night time formula at bedtime. The occasional snack, too (gerber's li'l crunchies, which she absolutely loves). I recently found out though as to how much I spend on baby food so all I ever get now are the fruits. Bought some frozen veggies as well as fresh ones and I will be making her food instead. She also has had reactions to the baby food chicken, so I boiled 2 chicken thighs and ran them through a blender with the broth....and voila! no reaction at all and she loved it! :star:

another thing is saan po ba kayo nag-register? babies r us? target? burlington? saan kaya may magandang products pero di mamahalin at hindi made in china :help:

thanks.

my nearest relatives are 3 and 6 hours away and hubby's are 12 hours away, so walang kamag-anak na nag-throw ng baby shower for me. my hubby's co-workers did my baby shower, about 2 weeks before I gave birth. Nothing special as we had begun to p;ut together Maizy's things about a month after the positive pregnancy test so that a month before she was born, she had all the furniture, clothes, and what-nots that she needed. So we requested loads and loads of diapers na lang.

Sorry to say but you will not find a store anywhere that does not sell items made in china. e pati body wash ng walmart, made in china. I registered at all 3 that you mentioned and walmart as well. There is a nearby burlington baby depot where we live so I get to go there at least once a month. They have sale events almost year round so that we bought Maizy's car seats there with a %20 off coupon on top of sale prices  And their prices are definitely lower than babies r us. :star:

HELOOOOOO MGA MOMMY ask ko lng kc excited nme mkipaglaro s bb nmin ,,ilang months ba ang bb mg ka interest s toys nila :innocent: ask ko din if natural lng ba na yung bb even 3 month plng maronong na lomakad mg step by step pero ofcourse hinahwakan pa oi :D

that's called the "stepping" reflex and is evident even in a newborn.

believe it or not, babies that young are starting to focus better on things...and will find everything they can see as something new and interesting. continue with the red-black-white toys and bright colored toys to catch his interest. the red-black-white ones are more striking to him owing to the high dgree of contrast of these colors.

At Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, it's $2,000+ for normal delivery and $3,000+ for C-section.

I can have the exact cost for you guys when we come home from our weekend with the in-laws.

Haaaay...na-depress tuloy ako. :(

I delivered via C-section last December. With insurance, we paid a total of about $6000 ++ for both myself and the baby. Without insurance, the median cost of Normal Newborn care is $4-5T, and C-section without complications is $22-23T ++. My husband added me and my older child to his insurance a few months after we were married, even if we were not in the US yet so that everything was covered when I got pregnant and insurance extended to my baby.

The numbers above do not include doctors' fees (OB, anesthesiologist, pedia, pathologist --- for baby's and mommy's labs).

Ako din hindi ko sigurado sa exact weight ni Zac pero kasi nung 6 months old cya eh 18.2 lbs. na eh normally ang weight gain nya is 1.5 - 2 lbs. a month. 8 months na cya now so I believe na more than 20 na cya kaya ayun yung malaking car seat na binili namin.

Will be getting one for maizy in a couple of weeks. Mag-8 months na sya and she is already 21 lbs as of last week....lakas kasi kumain

Current recommendation is rear-facing for infants up to 20 lbs, can pull themselves up and are at least a year old.

hi mga mommies may tanong ako how long bago nawala yung bleeding ninyo kc sa akin on and off sya..eh 8 weeks na kaya ako, wla namang masakit kya im not concerned about it. how long din bago nagbalik period nyo? im just curious..share naman kayo para hindi naman ako mabahala..thanks

if you are actively breastfeeding, bleeding should stop in a few weeks. And your period returns much later.

Ahh ganun ba.

At night time ba kapag natulog si Maizy eh mahimbing na tulog nya as in di gumigising to drink some milk?

Nope. Maizy sleeps through the night, although there is that rare occasion na magigising pero tutulog ulit without milk. At bedtime, she takes 8oz of the Enfamil Nightime formula kaya busog sya the entire night. these past few nights, though, medyo irritable sya and last sunday, sinuka yung ginatas nya kakaiyak. Sunday and monday night, ang hirap patulugin. Had to take her to bed with me and then ilipat sa crib nya pag tulog na sya. I don't want her to dvelp the habit of falling asleep in our bed, though. She's been fussy today dahil siguro sa sipon nya. Thankfully, she has no fever. :innocent:

Congrats to the new mommies! If you're breastfeeding, you may want to do skin-to-skin at times...it does make a difference. Much as I wanted to, I only got to do that a couple of times kasi winter baby si maizy. Babies tend to sleep more if they're too warm or too cold, so you may want to watch the covers for them to feed more.

Anyways, such cute li'l girls....hooray for girls!!!!   Haay...sarap magkababy...makes me want another itty bitty one  Kaya lang, ayaw pa ni hubby...gusto daw nyang masubaybayan nang maige ang paglaki ng mga prinsesa nya.

Maizy is getting bigger....fast. Two weeks ago, ALL her onesies still fit her or had some allowance pa. Tonight, I am thinking about taking at least half of them down to the basement as they barely fit her. She will probably not be able to fit in them (lengthwise) after this week. And these are 6-9 month clothes....time to break out the 9-12 month batch of clothing.... She is taller than she is wide and is getting heavy so that it is really a chore now to carry her around in her carseat. In addition, her legs are getting scrunched up when we put her carseat in the car, so we may have to find a convertible, stay-in-car one soon. She says "Dada" and "Mama" readily, squeals when happy, laughs and giggles when asked if she made "poopy-loopy" (which usually means that she did ). I sit her down to watch disc 1 of "your baby can read" after breakfast and she is very attentive to it. She now takes at least 4 scoops (like the one in the can of formula) of mixed grains mixed with at least 2 oz of formula plus a 4 oz bottle of mixed fruit in the morning, all washed down with at least 2 oz of formula. This is followed a couple of hours later with an 8-oz bottle of formula and then she lays down for her first daytime nap. an hour later or so, she has mixed veggies (sometimes mixed with some cereal, depending on how watery the baby food is)and meat plus fruit juice, followed a couple of hours later with 6 oz of formula and her afternoon nap. suppertime consists of 3 scoops of cereal mixed with 2 oz formula plus a bottle of mixed meal (veggies plus meat) washed down with 2 oz formula. Then 8 oz of her night-time formula. She refuses to crawl and would rather scoot herself around and seemingly attempt to stand when she finds herself next to our respective lay-z-boys. She has not spent much time in her exersaucer anymore, preferring to play on the floor. Still loves her jumper and goes around the kitchen in her walker. And she just LOVES to seek out my hair and just hang on to it. Hands are VERY quick and will just grab anything within her reach and reach out for things to grab which are out of her reach...nearly pulled my plate off the table tonight within a few seconds of sitting her on my lap.

She is growing so fast that sometimes I want to just tell her to slow down a bit :innocent: I wish she'd remain a little baby...just a little longer...

Enjoy your babies, mommies. :star:
