Musta na ang incision mo? Frosty, Shiela and Marybeth good luck sa inyong lahat. Praying for your safe delivery! Dianne- try to drink lots of water and eat food with lots of fibers. Also, you can drink prune juice. Never ako nag constipation when I was pregnant. Peru nong pagka tapos kung nanganak nag constipated ako dahil sa pain pills na iniinom ko. Uminom ako prune juice and it really help. Hi princeandprincess! Hay naku, I've been reading the posts on here but di nakakapagreply kasi hawak-hawak si Maizy. She's in her bassinet now so I have some time (till the next breastfeeding). My incision is ok, kaya lang medyo nag-open on the leftmost side about 2mm with some drainage. Had Hubby check it kasi di ko makita without a mirror. Wala naman daw nana, which is good. Otherwise, sarado na, although di pa namin tinatanggal yung mga steristrips na nilagay. My postpartum check isn't till Tuesday so will see what the Ob says by then. My problem now is that it's been 15 days since I gave birth and I am still passing out some blood. I consulted with my cousin's wife who is an OB (in the Phils) and she says that it's unusual for me to have some bleeding till now . I thought so, too, and I remember when I had Alec it took just about 10 days for the bleeding to finally disappear. But this time around, may blood pa rin, about 2 tablespoonsful this morning in the bathroom plus I can feel it coming out. Cousin's wife advised me to rest more and increase my iron tabs to twice daily, and to not resume driving yet (which I welcome anyway due to the slippery icy roads). The bad side is that hubby has had to resume his weekend work so that he won 't be home from early morning till late at night. Meantime, I have the baby downstairs in her pack-n-play along with everything she would need for the day para di ako akyat-panaog. I have also decided to put off doing the laundry till when hubby is home. Maizy is mixed-fed kasi kulang yung gatas ko. She now adds about 3 oz to whatever amount of milk she gets from me. Am having problems pumping milk; mahina yung production sa left ko kesa sa right. My right produces at least 2.5oz with the pump, yung left, wala pa yatang 1 oz. Don't know why but ganun din nung ke Alec. Maizy cries pag nasa left sya kasi di pa sya nabubusog, wala na sya makuha. Oh...gave her her first tub bath this morning; nalaglag na pusod nya yesterday. Kaya lang, after her bath, I fed her tapos nagpoopoo sya ng madami at kumalat sa lower back nya...e, she had a onesie on so kumalat pa sa buong likod nya. So...another wash...with another round of wailing To those who were asking - I was provided with ready-to-feed Similac Advanced with Iron at the hospital as a supplement to feeding Maizy as my milk had not come in yet. But I made sure that the first feeding she got was from me. Sa recovery room pa lang pinadede ko na sya. In addition to that, I was given a diaper bag that contained a sample of Similac Advanced powder. That can has since been consumed. We went to WalMart to buy another can of formula and, my, how expensive formula can be! I looked at Parent's Choice and did a comparison of its contents to that of Similac and Enfamil and it is comparable, down to the DHA and ARA content . We bought that instead and let Maizy try it. She has no complaints about it and takes it in readily. Parent's Choice is WalMart's brand...is cheaper, too. I have a schedule with WIC on the 20th. Akala ko now yung sked ko buti na lang tumingin ako nung SUnday sa calendar at Monday pala at hindi Tues ang sked ko Pinaganswer nila ako ng mga questions na nakasulat sa papel to check if i am having postpartum depression at wala naman akong ganung nararamdaman Ni check din nila yung uterus ko kung bumabalik na sa dating size at nakasked na naman ako next month for papsmear. About sa feeding ng milk, mejo less na akong magbreastfeed now. Yung anak ko ang iniinom na gatas everyday is 1QT ng Enfamil Lipil Ready To Use. We tried one time yung powder kung magugustuhan nya pero ayaw nya nung powder eh. Sumisimangot mukh nya tas tinutulak ng dila nya palayo sa bibig nya hehe. Ang cute nga nyang tingnan pagsumisimangot kasi nakakatawa mukha nya Oo nga pala, pinapadede ko din cya every morning then 1QT nacoconsume nya na formula milk. te Ady (frosty), Shiela, Marybeth - good luck sa inyong pag-ire. Nung una eh hindi ko alam kung paano umire natatakot kasi ako na baka poopoo lumabas at hindi baby lol! Yun pala ang pag-ire talaga is same ng pag-ire kapag nagpoopoo. Meron na ako nung Medela Manual breast pump kit" pero ang gusto ko kasi yung machine at hindi manual. I'll try to borrow sa WIC ng machine tom kung meron pa silang available tapos kung koomportable akong gamitin ang machine eh dun kami bibili. Ask sana ako ng suggestion kung ok ba yung nakita ko sa Walmart na Playtex Electric BreastPump? Thing is, kulang pa rin yung amount ng gatas ko so that after an hour or so of feeding, gutom pa siya and i then have to give her formula. At 11 days old, she consumes about 3 ounces per formula feeding. I've only used the pump a few times kasi nga maya't maya dumedede si Maizy. Am using the Evenflo Comfort Select. Ok naman siya. If breastfeeding, kelangan pagtiyagaan...baby gets hungrier faster since brestmilk is easier to digest. Philippines	All pregnant Mommies	Happy Three Kings to all! Maizy was baptized this morning during the 11am Mass. The priest thought it worthwhile mentioning during the sermon how appropriate the occasion was as she was born Christmas morning She slept throughout the entire thing, just flinching a bit when the first cupful of water was poured on her head. Prior to the final blessing, the priest took her in his arms and presented her to the community present. Of course, Mommy and Daddy couldn't be prouder. She wore the same garment her Ate Alec did 7 years ago It was basically a community event as some of the churchgoers took the time to wish Maizy well. It was also very nice having my cousins drive for 8 hours from Toronto to play godparents (even if the kids have school the next day). Nothing like having family around on such a special occasion. Maizy's appetite exceeds my milk supply so that kelangan talaga mag-supplement minsan. She's now 9 days old and seems to have an attitude when she doesn't get what she wants right away...whether it be finding my nipple or getting her tushie cleaned or just getting attention...she lets out a loud wail just before starting to cry. Parang "ano ba!" ang dating. We have gone thru more than 40 diapers in 9 days I guess, getting an entire box is more economical than buying jumbo packs. Still needs work with the nightime routine. Philippines	All pregnant Mommies	Ho-hum...just woke up from a much-needed nap. Maizy kept me up for 3.5 hours...and I had to be up early for her newborn check-up. She wouldn't let go of the breast...ginagawang pacifier ba. Ang sakit kaya So we had no choice but to give her 2 oz of formula kasi ubos na gatas ko. Still, she would not be appeased and finally slept with a pacifier in her mouth...she spit it out eventually and slept on. Check-up went well, will be back in 3 weeks for her 2nd Hep B shot. Came home and within an hour, I was wanting to take a nap so I took her upstairs and into the bed with me. Awakened by her Daddy, taking her downstairs...kahit tulog pa. I swear...he's going to spoil her silly. Sya na nga nagpaligo ng bata tonight, and he'll hold her in his arms whenever he feels like it (which is quite often). Something special between little girls and their daddies My MIL will be going back to Thibodaux, La in 2 days. Wish she could stay longer and enjoy her two grandaughters longer. Then i have relatives coming in for Maizy's baptism which is set for Jan 3rd. Tapos nun, Alec goes back to school. Wish she could stay at home longer. I feel kinda guilty kasi I missed her 7th birthday last Dec 26th...I was still in the hospital then. Plus, I feel like I have not given her enough attention since coming home with Maizy. I would like to breastfeed continuously. For now, Maizy spends at least 15 mins at each breast per feeding time. We use Similac Advance for supplementing. Philippines	All pregnant Mommies	Thank you to all We are now home. My hemoglobin is stable in the 7's but since di naman ako nahihilo, pinayagan kami makauwi. Of course, excited si Alec...she says dalawa na daw sila na princess dito sa bahay Hubby still attends to Maizy's diapers and getting her to me for feedings since I can't move all that well yet. My problem still seems to be going to the toilet...side effects of the pain-fighting mixture they put in with my spinal anesthesia. Am going to be drug-dependent for awhile. Good thing, too, at ngayon kami na-discharge kasi kung hindi, snow ang abot namin pag bukas pa. Maizy's appetite increased dramatically overnite. She was at my breasts for more than an hour mga 1am and she was still hungry so that we had to supplement with the provided Similac Advance. She finally settled down after 3 hours, only to start fussing again a few mins after we thought we'd be able to get some sleep (my bowel problems ended at around 5am). Hubby requested the nursery to take Maizy for a few hours so I could rest, and she was returned to us at 10am on my insistence. She's made a lot of poop and had her first wet diapers. Feeling ko gutom sya lagi. While waiting to be discharged, we had her photographed by the baby photographer contracted by the hospital. Maizy's pics may be seen on: www.bellababyphotography.com. The password is 1225mazzelynneve. Will be available for viewing for 2 weeks. I thought they did a marvelous job Pink - physiologic jaundice occurs usually bet days 3-7. It's either bili-light or 30 mins plain ol' early morning sunshine...of course, you need to turn the heater up if you're going to take Zach's clothing off while exposing him to sunshine....if you do get sunshine. Philippines	All pregnant Mommies	(Belated) Merry Christmas to all! Hay naku...yan na nga ba ang nangyayari sa naiinip... Mazzelynn Eve made her debut at 9:52am Eastern of Christmas day She weighed in at 8.6 lbs and is 21 inches tall I had one strong contraction around 5am, went to the bathroom at ayun na nga...bloody show. Did not go to the hospital till an hour later when my contractions were 4 mins apart. Am currently still in the hospital recuperating, Maizy is currently seeking Daddy's favor...he just cannot not pick her up the moment she starts to cry. Ayun, first night namin pareho kaming puyat. I swear...pati recovery ko is far different from when i had Alec. Di ako maka-wee-wee after they took out the catheter at nag-spasm yung daanan ng wee-wee ko kaya they had to re-insert another. I've been able to relieve myself since then but the walk to the toilet is somewhat excruciating kasi nag-spasm parin yung pantog ko. They are still observing me kas my hemoglobin dropped from a 10.9 pre-op to a 7.6 post-op. Passed out a lot of blood clots kanina so i am currently awaiting the lab tech who'll be getting another blood sample for another blood count. The baby was observed in the special care nursery for a while kasi sabi malaki sya for her age in weeks. Everything turned out to be fine although they had to test her blood sugar every now and then. She is developing some jaundice on her face already and I would not be surprised if she becomes yellower tomorrow. She is purely breast-fed...nakakatulugan nga lang nya mag-dede. God bless sa lahat. Well, breastfed babies poop easier than bottle-fed babies...it's the protein in formula that makes the baby constipated. Sayang naman yung pina-pump mo na milk. It's not too late to put him on breastmilk, you know. Is good practice to not carry him all the time. Si Alec, di ko binibitbit lagi so that di sya mahirap patulugin at di sinumpong pag di kinakarga. I did not get nor wanted a swing. I was given a infant to toddler rocker though which I may just use to put the baby in after feedings para di nakahiga kaagad. I used a baby carrier with Alec. At 9 days, malambot pa yung head and neck ng baby...needs support at least till 3 months of age when he can hold his head up na talaga. Yes, he may be holding his head up a bit but his neck muscles aren't strong enough yet. That is where your mobile or whatever he can focus on comes in handy so he can turn his head from side to side and strngthen his neck muscles Hubby is working Christmas eve into christmas morning, so I will be alone down in the living room in a little while. Cant breathe right, got post-nasal drip, sore nostrils, a very sore and highly-irritable throat. Thankfully, no fever, but I have not been able to sleep well the past couple of nights. Am now (on my insistence) on antibiotics but am quite impatient to lose these symptoms in time for Christmas day and for Monday's surgery. Not that they will postpone the CS; I just don't like being sick (i rarely get sick) and I would very much want to kiss my baby on her forehead. Philippines	All pregnant Mommies	Had my last pre-natal today Went over admission procedures, the birth plan, etc. Still advised about going into labor before Monday...hopefully Maizy cooperates and waits till then But if she doesn't, everything is ready. I don't have much to do anymore but go in and out of the nursery and check on things...and recheck. Sigh...nakakainip lalo pag alam mong konting araw na lang. Am looking forward to Monday than to Christmas And am getting excited with the passing time The staff at hubby's place of work threw me a little baby shower last Sunday at his place of work. Got a few pieces of clothing and packs upon packs of diapers and baby wipes...I think Maizy's first 2-3 months of diapers are covered already Was really very nice of them, going out of their way to do this for us...and I don't really know them other than that they work alongside my hubby. Philippines	All pregnant Mommies	Pink and RR - The goodwill we go to is an outlet kaya ang daming gamit na nakukuha namin dun we got her cradle swing there, her exersaucer, her bouncer, and her high chair. I haven't seen much of baby stuff at the other goodwills. The thrift store we go to has baby stuff, too. di nga lang mapapansin kaagad kasi they are up on shelves over the rows of clothing, although yung iba andun sa harap ng mga baby clothes. She has a doorway jumper, too that I have hanged momentarily down in the basement so that she has somewhere to be in while i do the laundry. It is a Graco one with a tray in front so I can put some suction-based toys on it for her to play with. Once Upon A child has these things, too, kaya lang mas mahal kesa sa goodwill. The Rainforest Jumperoo costs about $65-70 dun and the Exersaucer is about $25-35. Sayang nga yung isang exersaucer na nakuha namin...the seat rotates just like a regular exersaucer but it moves sidewards, too, and yung "floor" nya is a keyboard so that may sounds habang tinatapakn ng bata. We got it at goodwill for $5 and sold it to Once-Upon-A-Child for $25. They, in turn, sold it for $45 and it sold the next day. But I am happy with the one Maizy has kasi it stores easily. We got other baby stuff as well as little tikes stuff at goodwill which we will sell at a yard sale in the next few weeks RR - Tisay na tisay si maizy. Everybody who sees her all say that they love her hair kasi dark. Ewan kung magbabago yung kulay. But she does have her Daddy's complexion and has rosy cheeks all the time. The legs are adjustable and can fold for storage. It can either be stationary or you can fold down the little tripod legs (under the red base) to make it a little more "movable" (side to side lang...help develop balance). Missing from the exersaucer is a king-and-queen toy...i took it off to change the batteries in it. But they are both very charismatic and never fail to draw attention pag nasa labas kami. E, inadopt na nga sila nung isang matanda dun sa isang nursing home na pinagtratrabahuan ni hubby, sya daw yung isa pang lola nila RR - Oo nga. kakulay ni Maizy si Daddy nya. Yung hair nya dun sa pic sa laundry basket, ganun yung natural nya...nakatirik I put baby oil on the top of her head for both her cradle cap and to tame her hair a bit She has brown eyes and medyo nagli-light nang kaunti yung hair nya. Her cheeks are naturally rosy, lalo na pag mainit. Pink - check-up ni Maizy sa wednesday, plus the 2nd round ng vaccines. She is now on full serving ng cereal (4 tbsp plus 2 oz of milk mixed in) and finishes a bottle of fruit at breakfast (now eating peaches) and about half a bottle of fruit and half a bottle of veggies (now eating butternut squash which she SO loves!) with full serving of cereal for supper. di ko pa pinapakain ng 3 times a day kasi mga 9:30 sya nagb-breakfast tapos may naptime sya ng mga 11am-1pm. She has 4oz of milk after breakfast, sometimes 6 (as if di pa nabusog sa breakfast nya, di ba?) then 6oz after her nap, another 4 oz about 2 hours before her supper, 4 oz after supper, then 6 oz of bedtime formula. She has another 6 oz of bedtime formula around 5am. She is really heavy and takes much effort to lift her carrier from the front door to the car. She does not like the pacifier, minsan lang nagamit. The last time she took it was like a month or so ago. Pag antok na sya sa gabi and she has finished feeding, yun ang binibigay ko kasi baka sumuka (she has done so nung dinagdagan ko yung formula nya). Sandali lang nasa bibig nya tapos iluluwa na at tuluyan nang matutulog. I bathe her in a fold-away tub...big space saver. I put a foam pad under her pag sponge bath lang which is about every other day, depending on the weather. I wash her hair every other day or depending on the weather. Yung cradle cap nya di na ganun kagrabe. I put Gentle Naturals Cradle cap care on her scalp an hour or so before her bath, then wash it with Hammamelis shampoo with witch hazel (not sure of the name) by Kocher. Has been effective naman so that the really scaly spots na lang are in the areas nearest her anterior fontanel (soft spot on her head). there is some dryness on her forehead that I put baby lotion on everyday...has been instantly effective, too She now spends about 15-20 mins in her exersaucer and likes playing rough. SAbi nga ng nanay ko baka boy si Maizy She can't really roll over yet (lol...parang aso) but when i put her on ther tummy, she can push with one hand and roll onto her back She should be able to roll onto her tummy in this month, at which time she really needs to sleep in her crib and not in the bassinet anymore. She is drooling a lot and mouths everything she gets her little hands on with much gusto. She is enjoying the toys on her exersaucer and is able to manipulate most of them. And I just LOVE it when she reaches out to grab my face Eve - I would recomment the Pampers baby dry sa Pinas. Worked the best for Alec, and is most economically effective than most brands there. You may like Drypers, too. I think I used Huggies Overnites for the night time. JImifibi - well, congratulations! Enjoy the ride! Pero lately ayaw nya na masyado sa swing kasi mas gusto nya sahig kasi nakakagalaw sya ng walang tali..minsan nasa ilalim na sya ng couch sa kalikotan. Speaking of swing, ako na muna nagpapaandar ng swing habang tulog si Maizy...am charging batteries pa. yung music ng swing, pinalitan muna ng Light Classcal channel sa TV She doesn't like tummy time but she can support herself on her hands na during the short periods that I put her on her tummy. she likes "jumpy-jumpy", and "airplane" (or "super maizy"), and "dancing" to "tong, tong, tong, pakitong-kitong". She also likes being sung to. I sang kuh ledesma's "till I met you" while preparing supper one time and she was in her bumbo,and when I turned to look at her, she was smiing. Another time, I fed her too late and she was fussy and sleepy, and I sang to her some nursery rhymes and she started smiling...syempre, sabay tulo ng baby food from her mouth She also seems to have taken an interest in the laptop and started crying when i took her away from it. About diapers, Maizy uses Pampers Baby Dry at night and Luvs in the daytime. If we have to go out, I put the Pampers on her, but ang baon ko e yung Luvs. Luvs resembles Pampers Perhaps I shall try Huggies again kasi mas mura sa Pampers...and I have coupons for HUggies, too. Si Zac kasi hindi naman cya pala giing sa gabi except gusto nya ng gatas bigyan ko lang ng bote sa bibig then tulog na agad. Pero lately eh nagiging fuzzy na cya sagabi. Nagstart yun simula nung lagnatin cya. Try ko nga yang Restful na yan. Thanks for informing us Zac had his Pedia appointment last Thursday. He weighs almost 16 lbs na with the height of 26 inches. According to the doc, he was on his 40% percentile when he was 1 month old then now that he is almost 4 months eh he is on his 80% percentile. She said that he is growing up so fast and she was shocked when I said how much milk he drinks everyday. He is already behind on his vaccines but his Pedia can't give him vaccines because his body temp that day was a bit high. It was 99.7F. So she asked us to go back this week whenever his temp is lower so he can have his shots or else she wants to see him again. Ask ko lang po, do you guys swing your babies? Zac has a swing and he is enjoying it. He most of the time fell asleep after few mins of swing. Kaya lang kasi natatakot ako na baka maspoiled na tong si Zac at maging dependent na sa swing at baka gustuhin nya ng laging i-hele bago matulog. Swing is good though specially if I have to do something. Iwan ko lang cya sa swing then I can do chores na. Any opinions about swing? Pros and cons based on your experiences? It's powder. is slightly thicker than regular formula so it stays in her tummy for a longer time, hence, she doesn't feel hungry and stays asleep. Last night, I fed her around 9pm and the next time she woke up was around 5am na Naku, si Maizy is just 3.5 months na but nasa 16lbs na sya. Sumasakit nga baywang go when i have to hold her in church when I need to stand. Since I started feeding her baby food, nabawasan ng 1 or 2 6 oz feedings -- 4 oz na lang Am slowly increasing the amount of baby food. So far, at each meal, she has 1 tbsp of rice cereal mixed with 3 tbsp (makes about 15ml serving) of formula, about 1-2 tbsp (about 20-30ml) of veggies or 1-2 tbsp of beef which she doesn't like unless i mix it with veggies or fruit), and about half a bottle of fruit (about 1 oz). Yup, she LOVES the fruit. Last night, about 2 hours after such a heavy meal (she had cereal, carrots, beef, and bananas), she downed 4 oz of formula in less than 15 mins...at di pa sya happy after so i had to make her another bottle and she finished half of it. I swear, she goes thru a 12.9oz can in a breeze. Thankfully, yesterday, I got 2 cans for free...courtesy of Craigslist...and today, I got 3 cans, 2 boxes of formula sachets, and 8 ready-to-feed bottles for $30...also courtesy of Craigslist Am going to look out for more About the swing, Maizy has a cradle swing which she hates to be in when awake. I use this during the daytime to lull her to sleep pag nakikita ko na antok na sya. At least, for 1-2 hours, I am able to do chores in peace and quiet At night, pag antok na sya, I wrap her up, put her in her bassinet, and turn her light/music show on and she just drifts off to sleep. Philippines	All pregnant Mommies	yung iba namin na napili are prune, turkey and rice, squash, harvest veggies with mixed grains, mixed veggies and turkey, mango... doc gracey can you tell me which one cant easily be digested? hehehehehe... please... my hubby doesnt want carrots kasi raw nagpaparami raw yan ng hair... ewan ko sa kanya hehehehe... yun nga rin sabi ko sa kanya na its not for babies yung for adult na cereal but then ayaw maniwala. he can have the turkey and rice, and the squash muna. wag na muna yyung mixed grains. introduce foods one at a time so he'll get used to the taste. yung adult cereal, like i said is coarser. plus, baka mabilaukan yung bata. dont put his cereal in a bottle so that he'll get used to the texture. carrots are a VERY good source of vitamin A for his eyes i got maizy's wic coupons for baby food...good for june. have you gotten yours? they will only allow the Beech-nut brand but the cereals, gerber. 16 containers of 4 oz baby food fruits and veggies and 8 containers of 2.5 oz baby food meats per week	ryandgracey	Female	Philippines	2010-04-11 15:33:00
Philippines	All pregnant Mommies	hello sa lahat, musta na mga mommies dito? update sa baby ko: hmmm medyo nakakatawa lang...kasi kanina we bought food for our baby... i wanted to have the rice cereal pero ayaw ng hubby ko kasi may malt-omeal kami dito sa bahay na di pa nabubuksan sabi nya its just the same lang raw yun na lang ipakain ko...so yun di ko na lng pinili yung rice cereal pinili ko yung mga nasa jar na food. we bought 7 different kinds of food na gerber... then pag uwi namin sa bahay nakita ko may 1st,2nd,3rd food pala na nakalagay eh nung nasa store kami sobrang nagconcentrate lang kami sa mga flavors ng food hehehehehe.... so yun ang pinakain ko muna is yung 1st food na rice cereal with applesauce...kunti lang yung pinakain ko sa kanya and he ate it naman... he open his mouth everytime i put the spoon in his mouth then he chew it.... then after eating pinainom ko sya ng tubig thru yung cover pa rin ng bottle milk nya... after drinking water nagburp sya... di ko na muna sya papakainin ulit today kasi titingnan ko muna kung sasakit ba tyan nya... im not sure kung pwede na ba yung mga 2nd at 3rd foods ipakain sa kanya? 4 months pa lang baby ko pwede na ba yung 2nd at 3rd food ipakain? God bless sa lahat. 1st foods are smaller in amountm just enough for beginners. once opened, you need to finish the jar in about 2 days. also, there are some 2nd and 3rd foods na di pa pwede for a young baby...can't digest them yet. maizy takes rice cereal plus half a bottle of carrots in the morning plus half a bottle applesauce. tonight she had beef with broth plus the rice and the remaining applesauce, followed an hour later with 4 0z of formula. she's been having carrots for about 5 days now. will start sweet peas tomorrow morning adult oatmeal is coarser than the baby food oatmeal...will be harder to digest.	ryandgracey	Female	Philippines	2010-04-10 22:09:00

Si Zac kasi everytime na patitikimin ko ng mga food like spagetti sauce, sour cream, ice cream eh nilalagyan ko lang ng unti sa dila tas dila lang cya ng dila. Balak ko kpag nasa 4 plus months ko cya introduce tlga sa baby food. actually, nagulat din ako; i just thought i'd weigh her and ayun. am thinking that by the time she's 6 months old she might weigh 20lbs if zac is over 16 lbs, can hold his head up and sits with support, and consumes about 60cc of formula in a day, you may start feeding him. start with rice cereal muna mixed with formula. i've been feeding maizy twice daily with 1 tbsp cereal mixed with 3 tbsp formula plus 1/3 of a bottle of Beech nut carrot. is easier for me to make her cereal more mushy than watery...mushy stays in her mouth and lets her "practice" chewing. ang mali ko lang is that i bought different kinds of food instead of getting her used to carrots muna. she had green peas for her 2nd meal today.	ryandgracey	Female	Philippines	2010-04-07 21:38:00
Philippines	All pregnant Mommies	Hi mommies and mommies-to-be! Been away for a long time...away from VJ although nabasa ko naman lahat ng mga posts. Spring break is over and we spent a few days out-0f-town. Stayed at a hotel with an indoor pool and Maizy got her first dip in the pool Amazingly, walang reklamo and she was quite content drifting on the water in her baby floater. I got her Huggies Little Swimmers to wear. Akala ko malaki sa kanya yung smallest size nila, but it was a good fit. But the nights were terrible. We brought the pack-n-play with us but she would not stay asleep in it. On the second night, I thought I'd rock her in her car seat and voila! Tulog sya the entire night. Was my fault kasi I did not bring any of her swaddlers. Now, I know why the swimmer diaper fit well on her. She is about 16 pounds now...gained 4 pounds since her last check-up 2 months ago. Kaya pala sumasakit baywang ko when I carry her in her carseat. She is also taking 2 4-oz bottles at each feeding. di ko dinideretso ang 8 oz kasi baka sumuka. There's about a half-hour to an hour's break between the two bottles. And nanghihinayang kasi ako as she has about 70 4 oz bottle liners pa. I bought new medium-flow nipples for the 8 oz bottles which I plan on bringing up from storage in the next week or so. And a few days ago I started giving her rice cereal. I know parang maaga pa but wala sya kabusugan e. No, I don't like mixing the cereal with her milk in a bottle as I would like her to get used to the texture. I plan on fully starting her baby food by the time she is 4 months. Meantime, rice cereal muna plus introduction of other 1st foods. About the rice cereal, gusto nya sunud-sunod ang pagsubo sa kanya at hindi ka dapat babagal-bagal. Am giving her 1 tbsp of cereal mixed with about 3-4 tbsp of her cereal. Today, I tried carrots and she took it just fine. will give some again tonight. She has also developed the habit of "pushing away" from the Bumbo seat. She uses her elbows to prop herself up and straightens her body; a sure sign that she does not want to be in her seat. I had to sing to her and talk to her while feeding her to keep her distracted and pre-occupied. Anyway, yan ang some updates so far. Kasi niweight ko muna yung sarili ko sa digital weighing scale namin tas after nun binitbit ko si zac tas nagminus lang ako sa weight ko. Ayun, 16.2 lbs cya pero may damit cya nun so feeling ko kulang sa 16 lbs. na cya saka yung number 1 na diaper eh mejo masikip na sa kanya kaya bumili na kami ng number 2 I use Dreft laundry stain remover for Maziy's milk-stained clothes. Philippines	All pregnant Mommies	amazed din ako kay maizy before kasi malakas nga sya... my baby is drooling na rin lalo na pag may object akong binibigay sa kanya na gusto nyang abutin or kunin tapos lagay sa bibig. i dont use bib hehehehe tinago ko yung bib kasama yung sleeper na di makasya sa kanya na. i just use the rcving blanket kasi he likes it more...kaya when he sleeps or his awake may two to three rcving blankets sya na nilalaro...yun at least sabay pahid na rin sa drool nya hehehehe... hay...ako nilabas ko yung mga bib nya, at least yung may plastic backing. kanina, habang nasa bouncer nya, nahablot nya yung dalawang toys sa magkabilang kamay at ayun, sabay saksak sa bibig nya but more often than not, she has her hands in her mouth. Philippines	All pregnant Mommies	Mommy Shiela - Kapag gising lang siya at kung gumagalaw kasi kumikirot yung legs niya. So far nakatulong yung tylenol na binigay namin at tumatawa na kanina. Kasi after nung shots niya kanina nku nasira ang araw niya..Lol..Wala namang siyang lagnat.And yes 4 yung binigay sa kanya today. 3 shots at 1 by mouth. Meron pa ata siyang 1 pang vaccine kasi dapat 6 yung vaccine lahat. Tama ka e ready mo na si JM..hehehehe..Buti nalang andito pa asawa ko at hindi pa bumabalik sa work kasi takot ako sa needle kahit hindi ako yung tinuturukan..lol..Hindi nga ako tumutingin kanina Pero gusto ko yung nurse kanina kasi ang bilis niya. Seconds lang eh tapos na pero sabi pa ng asawa ko na namilog ng kalaki laki ang mata ni Mae..Lol..Kasi dinidestruct pero ala pa rin umiyak pa rin. Mommy Sweet Pink - hindi ko kasi alam na pwedeng bigyan prior sa pagbigay ng shots pero sa next vaccination niya paiinumin na namin. Mommy Evelyn - Thank you sa reply. Maizy only had 2 shots. One shot had 5 vaccines in it (DPT, Polio, Hep A) and the other was the pneumonia vaccine (I forgot what it's called na). No fever, just super cranky and sleepy. What I did was soon after the shots were given, sabay bigay ng bote...ayun, tumahimik. When we got home, I just gave her Tylenol to ease the pain. One dose lang binigay ko since she slept 80% of the rest of the day. She will be 3 months soon. I don't do tummy time a lot kasi ayaw nya although the few times I did it this week, she can raise her head straight and support herself for sometime on her hands then her elbows pag medyo napagod na. She sits really well in her bumbo and now enjoys playing "airplane". Everybody we come across when we go out keep saying that she's quite a strong baby; she could hold her head up even before she was a month old. Two weeks ago, I noticed that she would raise her head in an attempt to get out of her carseat. Soon after that, I'd hold her by her hands and she'd pull herself up....to standing, and not to sitting She has started drooling, too, mga 2 weeks na rin. Hay...2 days down ang wireless sa bahay...ang dami na palang nangyari To the new mommies: Congratulations!!! naku, nadagdagan na naman ang mga little boys...let's go girls Frosty - I had some spotting lang the other day, tapos yesterday wala, tapos ngayon meron ulit. I guess kasi nagb-breastfeed pa ako kahit paano. You should have you period around the 3rd month post-partum. RR - Maizy has been holding her head up since she was 2 week old and has been sitting in her Bumbo for about a month na. Kusa nga sya nagli-lean forward pag nasa car seat nya. since type nya ang nakatayo, we found her an evenflo ultrasaucer sa goodwill and i have begun putting her there so she can stand (or sit) to her heart's delight...mabigat sya 'no, di ko matagalan yung tinatayo sya. Of course, since di pa nya kaya ang katawan nya, i have to put some support around her body para di bumagsak ang katawan nya forward sa ultrasaucer nya. Will post pics of that soon She can also pull herself up from lying position without any head lag when I take her hands. Roll over? hindi pa. Then again, she is just barely 3 months old. She weighed 12.2 lbs when she turned 2 months and i am sure she must've gained over a pound already. She is into 3-6 month clothing na because of her height, although di naman sya mataba. Feeling ko lahat ng kinakain e sa mga pisngi napupunta Am thinking baka maaga mag-ipin si Maizy; she drools a lot sometimes. Nilabas ko na nga yung mga iba pang bib nya kasi nga tulo-laway. I can see a pair of whitish depressed spots dun sa lalabasan ng first teeth nya (the middle incisors). Got her a teether kasi lahat gusto ilagay sa bibig.
