Isi,
We are here in Juarez still and have yet to do the medical or the physical. We went today at 6:00 a.m. to get our invitation letter and he didn’t walk out of there until 11:30, so we were unable to do our medical today. This really screwed with our plans, but its fine we have the letter and tomorrow we will do the medical.

Genny,
Do you really think they will give us a copy? I will tell him to ask tomorrow if he can get one. Thanks for the advice.

Ernesto,
Are you guys still here? Did you guys get the visa? Let me know how things are going.

Ernesto,

I am using both staples and paper clips, but I have no idea if we can use them I hope so.

I am using a co-sponsor since I'm a full time student so for myself I am taking:
I-134, letter from part time employer, bank deposits (since I get paid in cash), a letter from my school saying I'm a full time student, 08 tax transcript and 08 tax return

For my co-sponsor I am taking:
I-134, letter from employer, pay stubs, tax transcripts for 08,07,06 and tax return copy for 08, birth cert,

I am not doing bank statements since I have read you don't need them if you met the poverty guides, but I know it doesn't hurt to take them.

As evidence I have a lot:
I'm taking photos, my cell phone bills, his land line bills, emails, messenger logs, receipts, cards he sent me, cards my mom sent me while in Mexico, our lease contract for the home we rented when I was in Mexico, Letters from family members (I know they usually don't look at these, but what the heck it doesn't hurt), and some other stuff I can't remember

As far as the I-129F when I did it I made exact copy so I have that and some of the evidence I mentioned comes from the petition. Since I already have all the paper work I am throwing it in there, but I have not hard of anyone being asked for it.

Which DS156K Form are you using for Juarez Andrea?

The one from the website says that form expires in 05/31/2004

There is one from the state.gov website that is the current version, but it does not have the Ciudad Juarez seal. It does expire in 09/30/2010

Let me know

I am not sure we were going to fill that out tonight. I will have to look into it.

ANDREA,

GREAT NEWS I GOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CIUDAD JUAREZ JUST CONFIRMED ME THAT THEY SENT PACKET 3 ON NOVEMBER 3. STRANGE.....THEY ONLY TOLD ME ONCE. kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

I ALSO ASKED ON THE BANAMEX FEE THING......

THE PROBLEM THAT THEY SEE IS THAT THEY WANT TO GET PAID EXACTLY 131 USD, BUT IF OUR LOVED ONES PAY IN THEIR CITIES OTHER THAN CIUDAD JUAREZ....THEN THE DOLLAR, YOU KNOW, CHANGES GOES UP OR DOWN AND THEY WILL REQUIRE US TO GO BACK TO THAT SPECIFIC BRANCH AND COMPENSATE THE DIFFERENCE....THAT IS WHY IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT WE MAKE THE PAYMENT IN JUAREZ THE DAY OF THE INTERVIEW, ETC.

I GUESS I WILL STILL MAKE RESERVATIONS FOR EITHER ARRIVING ON SUNDAY OR ARRIVING ON TUESDAY...B/C OF THE FLIGHT AVAIALABILITY PROBLEM.

THANKS AND I HOPE THIS HELPS

Congratulations!!!

Wouldn't the exchange rate be the same for each Banamex. I was going to have my SO pay it on Saturday the 14, which is only a difference of 3 days. I wonder if it matters.

You should definitely do what you feel comfortable with. The hotel website gives a decent rate of 68.

How much does that guy charge for his services? What services does he offer? Is he like a taxi driver?

Do you recommend us doing this since we will be arriving at ciudad juarez airport?

He provides transportation to and from the airport. I am not sure if he goes to the Juarez airport, but I know for sure he goes to the El Paso airport. I would ask Genny what here SO used because I know he came in through the Juarez airport.

I already tried going using his directions under Hotel and I was able to see the rate without getting any other service from him. So I am thinking you can get this rate even though you don't use him for transportation services.

So we should ask our loved ones if they can go to any Banamex close to them and pay that?

So Ciudad Juarez probably has an account set up with Banamex and Banamex knows that, and possibly take the payment at any branch then
.

Yeah all visas are paid through Banamex so they have accounts set up for this. Even when a Mexican Citizen gets their passport they pay through Banamex

If it is possible I will get my SO to pay it there in Queretaro.

BTW, when I go the Expedia.com website to see about the flights.....I have tried arriving on a flight on monday November 16th, from Arkansas to Texas, From Texas to Guadalajara, and Guadalajara to Ciudad Juarez and ..........Expedia says that there are no flights (Orbitz said that only a few tickets are left) I guess this is due to dia de la revolucion mexicana down there. So Sunday November 15th actually works better and there are flights available.

I GUESS IF WE FIND OUT THAT THE BANAMEX FEE CAN BE PAID BEFORE, THEN WE ARE SET TO DO MEDICAL ON MONDAY AND INTERVIEW ON TUESDAY...........I HOPE THE LOGIC IS RIGHT, I WOULD HAVE TO SCHEDULE FOR ARRIVING ON SUNDAY ANYWAYS DUE TO THE FLIGHT AVAILABILITY I JUST MENTIONED.

WHAT HOTEL WILL YOU BE USING?

Hotel: Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ciudad Juarez - Las Misiones. On their website you can get the room for 68+tax. But if you use the service Sandi recommended you can get it for 55.77+tax. I will be doing this and having him pick me up from the airport as well.

This is the Hotel everyone else has used

Ernesto you were so right they just wanted to squeeze some more money out of me. Oh well! He said the invitation was sent out on the 29th and it usually takes about 10 days. We might actually have it before we go to Juarez, which is good news. I asked him why on Friday when I called they told me it hadn't been sent out and he said maybe the person miss read the screen. WHATEVER!

I also asked him if we could go before we get the invitation and he said yes. He said, you will just go to the information window and they will print you a copy.

Yeah that is the problem Sandi ran into. She said the bank was packed the next day so they didn't make it to the interview. I read some where on here that a person paid the fee at their local branch. I am sure it will be fine. If I would have thought about it better I would have done the same thing because we want to use his mothers last name. When we get married I want to use his mothers last name as well. I know it is going to be harder to change once the process is done, but we will eventually look into it.

I told them that Juarez informed me on Friday that packet 3 still hasn't been sent out and it could take up to two more weeks for them to send it out. The lady said they have the system updated as packet 3 being sent out and she also said that Juarez failed to note my account for the call on Friday. The lady at NVC said every time I call NVC or Juarez the call is logged. I am hoping my Congresswomen can get a straight answer, because I need to start making plane and hotel reservations.

Ernesto,
Don't worry about last names they know about all this. My step-dad has it that way as well. His moms last name is used as his middle name. We filled it out using his first name and then used both last names under last names. We didn't seem to have a problem. The consulate knows as well as USICS that Latin names have father + mother last names. I wouldn't worry about it people seem to do the last name thing different ways. They understand.

I have decided the week of the 9th is no good for us. I hope we can go the week of the 16th. If we do this then I will fly to El Paso and meet him there. I just hope we hear something soon.

I understand how you feel I am ready to get this over with as well. I know DHL is open on the holidays, but if the consulate has not finished your visa then they can't send it to DHL until the open again. From what I hear the the delay is with the consulate getting the visa to DHL, not DHL.

I FEEL VERY DISAPPOINTED AND DISCOURAGED sad.gif

I CALLED JUAREZ AND THE DUMBOS TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE STILL PROCESSING THE PAPERWORK FROM NVC....IN OTHER WORDS, WHEN I CALLED LAST WEEK I WAS TOLD THAT OUR CASE WAS PROCESSED AND THAT THEY WOULD MAIL OUT THE LETTER IN LIKE 10 DAYS.....THEN YESTERDAY I INFORMED THE PERSON THAT I WAS TOLD>>>>>PROCESSED!!!!!!!, BUT NO.....THE PERSON SAID THAT IN THEIR SYSTEM THEY WERE "DOUBLE CHECKING" INFO FROM NVC AND WITH THE ELECTRONIC COPY (I THINK).......

BUT ANYWAYS ANDREA, I WILL DO THE EXACT SAME THING AS YOU GUYS.....I WILL NOT WAIT FOR THE LETTER TO COME IN THE MAIL, I ACTUALLY DOUBLE CHECKED WITH THE PERSON FROM JUAREZ AND SHE TOLD ME THAT 'YES'....WE COULD PRINT OUT THE FORMS, GO TO JUAREZ, AND NOT HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE LETTER (BUT ONLY AFTER THEY PROCESS EVERYTHING)

SO, I WILL BE CALLING THIS FRIDAY AGAIN AND POSSIBLY START MAKING RESERVATIONS TO ARRIVE ON SUNDAY NOVEMBER 8TH.

BTW, JUAREZ WILL BE CLOSED ON NOVEMBER: 2,11,13,16,26,27

LETS PRAY SO THAT WE CAN GET OUR CASES PROCESSED ALREADY ANDREA......LETS HAVE MORE FAITH AND VALUE OUR RELATIONSHIPS EVEN MORE.

ADEMAS, POR ALGO PASAN LAS COSAS good.gif

WTH!!! I am sorry to hear that. Why would they tell you that they had processed it if it hasn't been processed. That is crazy!! Have you called NVC to see what they say. I actually got a very nice lady today when I called. She said that Juarez is still processing and that they are very backed up. She said I should call at least once or twice a week. I just don't understand why Juarez would tell you it was processed if it hasn't been. I think you are better off just calling NVC for now and once they tell you yes then call Juarez.

Why is Juarez closed the 13th of November. Now knowing this I don't think the week of the 9th is a good idea. That only gives us three days to get the visa. If DHL does not give it to us on the 12th then we will have to be there until the following week. They don't hand out visas when the consulate is closed. Genny's SO was stuck there for a week and I don't want to experience that.

Hopefully we will hear something soon.

You just go to the information window and ask them to print it out. I think I will be doing this as soon as they give me the green light. I was hoping I could go either the week of the 9th or 16th.

I called NVC today and they said Juarez still has not received my paper work. I am starting to get depressed and I am trying not to lose faith but it is hard. I just want to scream girlwerewolf2xn.gif

I hope I hear good news soon.

Andrea

6 days and counting...suddenly I am very calm...maybe it's the calm before the storm. Trying to get things together now...ie: clothes and things like that...I am wondering if I should take my laptop with me...just so I can have it in the hotel room with me...I think I read on their website that there is WIFI. If anyone knows let me know.

Sandi,

I am glad you are clam. I am sure you guys will do great. I can't wait to hear another success story.

Isi,
Hi how is the US treating you? No, no news I called DOS today and they said Juarez is still processing crying.gif . I figured either tomorrow or sometime next will I will call Juarez and see what they tell me.

Quick question how did you fill out question #11 on I-134? I looked at the example here but I wanted to make sure people who have went to Juarez did the same thing.

Andrea

HEY CHECK THIS OUT EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I CALLED CIUDAD JUAREZ JUST A FEW MINUTES AGO AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY HAVE FINISHED PROCESSING OUR CASE.....THAT THE LETTER WILL BE MAILED OUT IN 10 DAYS....THEN I ASKED HIM WHERE THE LETTER WOULD BE SENT AND THE GUY SAID THAT IT WOULD BE SENT TO MY GF ADDRESS IN MEXICO,,,,,,BUT I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD ALSO GET ONE IN THE MAIL....

DO YOU GUYS KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS?

I ASKED THE GUY IF WE COULD GO ALREADY....BUT HE SAID THAT ONLY AFTER THE LETTER HAD BEEN SENT AND THAT 30 DAYS HAD PASSED AND WE STILL HAD NOT RECEIVED IT.......

ANY GUIDANCE ON THIS?

IM A SO HAPPY THAT THEY FINALLY GAVE ME VERY GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YAY kicking.gif good.gif

Congratulations!! kicking.gif

But I have to admit I am SUPER jealous. I called DOS today and they told me Juarez still hasn't received my paper work yet. I was like #######. I knew they had so I wasn't worried. I called a second time to DOS and a nicer lady told me Juarez was still processing my case. I wish I had an invitation letter too. UGGGGHHHHH crying.gif

Yes!!! She got it!!! She was back to the hotel at 9:50 am, I couldn't believe it, I thought there must be a problem.

Now we just need to wait for DHL, which by the way you need to take cash into the consulate for, as they don't accept all types of debit cards. Luckily I gave her 100 pesos, I think it was like 102 pesos for DHL.

So I suppose we need to take a taxi somewhere to get the visa?

kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif CONGRATULATIONS kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

I am so happy for you guys. Now all you have to worry about is DHL. If you can have Ale write another explanation of what went down in the consulate it would be greatly appreciated.
