National Visa Center (Dept of State)ARRGH - Confused about Interview things!!? HELP PLEASE!!
QUOTE (NikkisPrecious @ Dec 28 2007, 01:14 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Yeah i think it is.. I've already filled in both parts and sent to NVC and am expecting to sign part 2 one the day of the interview, i just don't understand why it says in these instructions that i need a DS230 part 2 form again.. .when they already have it! Oh well i guess i'll take it in again just to be safe.
Half the stuff on the document check list i can't bring anyway because they are holding the originals

Oh yeah.. I remember some people saying in Manila USEM that they gave em DS230 Part 1 and Part 2 again to fill out..

Even if they have the one that was submitted to NVC.. My guess is.. They want to match what was sent and what's written on the interview..

So yeah.. My suggestion is bring a blank DS230 Part 1 and Part 2 to be on the safe side..

National Visa Center (Dept of State)ARRGH - Confused about Interview things!!? HELP PLEASE!!
Well I don't know about UK USEM..

But in Philippines when we send our DS230 we fill out both Part 1 and Part 2 but spouse only sign Part 1 and send both parts to NVC..

When we get to our interview.. From what I heard USEM gives back Part 2 to your spouse to sign..

Don't know if that's what their talking about..

The next step is to wait for Packet 3. Both you and your wife will get it. From what I can tell from the majority of these VJers, it take about 5 weeks for Packet 3 to arrive.

Another option is to keep calling the NVC automated message service and listen for the next message, "your case was transferred..."

Hang in there!

Packet 3 is the DS-230!!

You mean Packet 4.. The Interview Packet..

Hey guys;

Not sure if this is the right place, but if not please redirect me.

Some time earlier this month as I was browsing through the various forums and new posts on VJ, I found a link that was posted that one was able to check immigrant visa appointments for the various embassies. I copied the link but not the member name who posted it and now I am trying to go to the site and Im getting an error message. When I saw the link, I checked it out, and it did work but did not have my case number because my case is not yet completed.

The link as I copied it (wrote it) is as follows: http://203.177.135.1...tment/login.asp

Did I copy it wrong or was I hallucinating? huh.gif huh.gif Has anyone else ever seen this? helpsmilie.gif helpsmilie.gif

If the person who posted this link reads this, please send me the info. Thanks in advance. good.gif good.gif

Well even if she brings x-rays.. SLEC will still take their own copies.. Their not going to base their decision on the x-ray she submitted.. They will base their findings/result on the X-Ray they will take..

Well I know of a doctors office where I used to work that we had a girl that was going over for a college year in the US,she had to have a medical exam done with us.
We did a TB Test on her and it was positive,we sent her to have an xray of the lunge and it turned out to be that she had it as a child before.
It was no problem due to the fact of them being able to prove that it was an old TB.

Hope that might help at least a little bit.

Well the TB test doesn't really mean you have a TB.

The TB test result just tells you that your prone to having TB in the future..

I get that test every time I visit Public Health here in the US and they always give me pills to strengthen my lungs.. (according to the doctor)

Wennie and I had out interview on January 8th and she dir great! The CO was friendly and says we passed the interview with no probelms.

However, it has been 10 business days and still no visa. I called the embassy and they said they are checking on additional items and waiting some information from the Philippines. The embassy would not tell me what they were lookin into and told me to call back in 2 weeks if we did not receive anything by then.

He said it could be a max of 6 weeks! Has anyone expirenced this or know someone who has had this issue? Wennie is due to travel in Jan 24, thought that would be pleanty of time but now that date does not look pronising.

Can someome shead some light on this?

I did originally send all my taxreturns;
sent 2005 but had a extention for 2006
so i faxed 2006 so she would have it
at the interview.
But they did not ask for it so she did'nt give it to them?
Will this be a problem?
She said the interview went well?
Will they request the 2006 tax return?
if they do how will she have to give it to them?
anothe interview?

worried here...

Don't worry.. As far as I know.. They will request what they want from you.. If they didn't ask for it, forget about it.. These was examined by NVC anyways.. Some consul ask for these docs just to make sure your on top of things..

Just follow the Consul.. Whatever they ask you is what you give em..

WoW... Thank You so much.. Now I can explain to my wife that its almost the same as the interview when we got our daughter's passport @ the USEM Manila..

Similar Scenario.. We were called for pre-screening.. Pinay lady looked at our papers and did a checklist.. and told us to take a seat and we will be called again for the interview by the CO.

We were called again.. Now a White Caucasian man was on the window, 1st look I knew he was the consul.

1st Question.. He wanted to look at our little girl and look at us both, then asked us how we met, we explained to him. Then he wanted to see pics if we have any.. (I didn't bring any pics) Thank God I keep alot of pics on my wallet.. I showed him pics on when my wife had my baby, pictures of my wife with me.. Then he looked at the checklist again and just said I don't see the problem here.. Her passport will me mailed to you in a week.

That's it.. Now my wife can be comfortable with this interview.. The key is honesty and kindness..

Thank You so much!!

I don't understand this. If you're married and petitioning your spouse for either or CR/IR visa and you got married in the Philippines, how can you get a Certificate of No Marriage(CENOMAR) from the NSO?

That is why they tell you not to get CEMAR instead of CENOMAR..

Filipinos like Christmas Decoration.. So have some Christmas Decor in the house and outside the house.. (Christmas Trees, Christmas Light, etc.)

Wake him/her up with the sounds of Filipino Christmas songs.. (Like the Medleys)

On the night of christmas eve.. Prepare a filipino dish for your noche buena. Food like (Home Made Ham, Filipino sweets, etc)

  1. Your airfare R/T (if you are going home)
  2. Your wife airfare (one-way or R/T) + 1620 Php travel tax
  3. Your daughter's airfare (one-way or R/T)
  4. 750PhP X 3 for the family of 3 for terminal fee at NAIA

Oh.. My bad.. I thought my daughter will be exempt on the terminal fee.. But as you mentioned, the travel tax is taken off when you pay the air fare anyways right?
