PhilippinesWho is still waiting for the visa from USEM for January
QUOTE (aynaku05 @ Jan 24 2008, 10:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Jim snd Mercy,
We had our interview last Jan. 4 and afterwhich the consul said we're almost done pls proceed to window 37. We go there, from there the man gave is the paper and said there is still a document to be verified, it will take 2 to 3 weeks for verification. We don't know what document to be verified. We paid at Delbros for the delivery of the visa already and keep on calling them too if the visa is already ready for delivery but up to now we have not heard from the USEM yet. Our lawyer sends her query to the embassy but they said to just wait. In fact, my fiance contacted already the congressman in his area and we're waiting for the reply. It has been 3 weeks now that we didn't hear from them. Don't know what was happening. The worst is my landline here in the Philippines is bayantel and we could not go thru the visa call center. I was able to call the center yesterday when i had a chance to talk to our GM at the office where i am working to let me use the phone(as we were not allowed to use for personal call) so i could contact the call center. When i get to talk to the call center agent named Cora she told me that it will take 6 weeks to verify the documents according to their system. And if after 6 weeks i will not hear from the Embassy, i will call again and let them know. I am just wondering why it took that long to verify the docs.? why not inform the concerned person what specific docs they want so they will be provided? we are in hell thinking about it and it made us desperate.

WoW!! What a great detailed Interview Experience..

Let me CONGRATULATE you for the VISA APPROVAL!!! I hope you get you VISA asap.. Since looking at your Interview experience.. I didn't see any issues with your documents other than the NBI Clearance, which was clearly not expired.

Thank You so much.. You lessens the tense and pressure for my wife's upcoming interview...

I see that they haven't even requested any Financial docs from the I-864.. WoW!! This is looking good.. But I will still come prepared with my co-sponsored I-864 if asked..

Good Luck to all.. Keep this Interview Experience going..

BTW what type of VISA classification did you get? Assuming you have a IR-1?

They told me flat out that I needed to give them a written request and many of us here know from experience that a written request will give you your best shot at getting them to approve.

Who? unsure.gif

If so.. Why can they just put it on their USEM website?

Roserick, why would you suggest not to bring a letter? Do you think the chances of getting permission to pick up the visa are better without a letter requesting it or that it doesn't make any difference? Writing a letter seems like a very easy thing to do and costs almost nothing.

Action Speak louder than words...

Technically.. Now this is technically ok..

You gotta buy a paper, pen, or the hassle of typing it..

What's the hassle of saying it?

HI TO ALL VJ MEMBERS???

how long does an IR visa to get approved... were almost two years married so i want to apply for it..
we are still gathering some requirements... my husband is in iraq...

we need information and suggestions!!!

thanks...

Technically CR-IR Visa can take up to maximum 12 months..

As for K Visas it can take up to maximum 6 months..

THAT's TECHNICALLY!!

Reality..

I have seen K Visa wait for 12 months.. almost the same with CR-IR, some IR go for 18 months..

This is due to the backlog @ USCIS until now they still haven't sort things out..

But as soon as you get out of USCIS and get to NVC.. Everything will get smoother, and faster... As long as the paperworks your providing are correct..

Good Luck!!

If you ask me for opinion.. I would go for IR.. Why? Its cheaper in the long run..

IR = (I-130 $355) (AOS fee $70) (VISA fee $400) That's it.. Your good for 10 yrs..

K3 = (I-130 $355) (I-129F who knows??) (K VISA fee $131) (Removing Conditon $500 more) etc..

PhilippinesUSC going to USEM for the interview .. how fast can you get the visa
QUOTE (garya505 @ Feb 1 2008, 12:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
It all depends on the CO. Some don't allow the petitioner in the room, some allow him in but don't talk to him (like in our case), and some will ask him questions. It's the sole decision of the CO, as is approval of VISA pick-up.

The only thing that everyone will agree on is that it's generally a big positive to go, if you can afford it.

We saw lots of women very nervous, some had questions which we could answer. Some were still finishing their forms or gluing on the photos. One lost her numbered ticket and there was a mad scramble for everyone to find it. One went to the wrong window and my fiancee went to find her and get her to the right window.

And, maybe you'll meet some new friends like we did ...

WoW... Thank You for the answer.. Unlike other sarcastic answers here.. like "What is CFO? Why don't you google it and find out"

So things really get tight in there..

Don't really know this cause i mostly go to the American Citizen Service the one on the Upper Left..

All I know is.. The room on the lower right is packed with people.. Which I didn't want to get in business knowing.

QUOTE (David-Mae Forever @ Feb 1 2008, 10:35 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Your presence during the interview is not going to complicate anything. As a matter of fact, it can show a strong proof of a bona fide relationship. Most of the time, the CO asks the petitioner some questions too. I even met a couple during my interview and it was the petitioner who answered all the questions because the applicant got so nervous and tongue-tied to speak. It's comforting for the applicant to have the presence of his/her petitioner/fiance(e).

Additional two cents, credit my account, debit yours.

My Baby just received the denial notice from USCIS last night ( Philippines time ). The reason why we're denied is lack of documents. I was wondering, if that's the reason, why they didn't send us an RFE about that? Even just in our emails. They just denied us that fast w/o even telling us to pass the missing documents first. And they sent us the denial notice 3 months after they received our petition. We even hav our case number. My Baby gonna call them tonight ( Philippines time ) to make clear of the decision. I even told him to pls. ask them why they didn't send us the RFE first before making the denial decision. Even at first, we're wondering why they denied us on that stage. So strange. They gave us their contact no. So we know if we hav to make an appeal or maybe, we'll just send them the missing documents. Hopefully, the latter. 'Coz I really want to be with My Baby asap. I really DO miss him a lot. And I want to make a family w/ him. Appealing can make the processing longer than 6 months. And it's so looong..... mad.gif crying.gif

Whoa.. Slow down girl...

What were asked? Questions like... Where is the father? Date the father last visited the Philippines? Stuff like that..

To apply for the CRBA... All they can do for you @ the embassy is give you instructions on what to do.. You have to call the ACS # then they will mail you the application, then you have to call again and they will pick up the application.. After 2 weeks of review, they will call you and give you an Interview Appointment..

I have forgotten the fee.. But I think its no more than $200 if approved.

DNA testing depends on the Consul.. If you can't make the consul to believe that the kid is really an American, then he will likely suggest that...

FYI: DNA testings are very expensive.. They can vary up to PHP50,000.00 pesos..

Documents? They will be on the instructions.. (Father's passport, Father's BC, etc..)

If approve the passport will be sent via DHL in about 2 weeks upon approval.

No SSN# is issued..

If the consul refuse the letter.. Why can't you just ask the consul to re-consider his decision..

Its the same thing by giving it to Window 37/38.. Your risk of getting to more trouble by the consul for doing that (Not meaning Denial) Just saying that your not honoring the consul's decision..

Its like if a judge sentence you guilty on charges.. You ask the clerks to reconsider the case.. To me that's a slap in the face if I'm the judge.

Also one more thing.. Of all does people who got Visa pickup refusal.. I haven't heard them ask the consul the reason for refusal.. I mean you have the guts to re-request the Visa Pickup but don't have the guts to question the reason for refusal? WHY?
