Philippineswhat makes you a candidate for AR? any ideas?
QUOTE (Gradie and Jane @ May 5 2008, 09:32 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Yes.... i think so too because i don't pay for the document verification but still i got my visa after 13 working days( maybe i'm just lucky)

Tell you what..

When my wife went on her Interview the consul was even surprised why we paid for the Document Verification.. She was like its their call to asked for it.. But we mentioned that it was advised to do it base on the USEM website, and she just like "ok you need it anyways and were just waiting for the result"..

I asked the consul if my wife was approved... She said she doesn't know till she sees the result of the verification..

Then she just told us to go to the releasing window where we were handed the pink slip and instructions to pay for the Visa Delivery fee..

QUOTE (Madelyne @ May 5 2008, 01:07 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Did you got a white sheet that's checked "Wait to hear from us" aside from the pink copy that you have to pay to the Delbros delivery? If you did you're under AR/Document Verification. But if the CO told you that you're approved and wait for your visa delivery then wait for Delbros to send you a text message for your visa. Usually applicants got their visas few days or two weeks after being approved. I think there's a delay on printing the visa too.

I'm on AR/Document Verification too and I don't think I have problems with my Birth Certificate and CENOMAR. I don't know exactly the reason what make one a candidate for AR. I was interviewed on 4/22 and I noticed most of us were under AR but some few who don't have documents verified were issued visas instantly in 2 to 3 days. I met one applicant at St. Lukes that we had the same shedule for interview and she said she paid her Debros document verification first week of April. She's not even aware of the document verification process yet she was so lucky that she only got her visa in 3 days and she's from Cebu. One VJ member here too got her visa in 4 days even though the NSO only forwarded her verified documents at the USE on 4/14 (same as me). I'm puzzled about that.. I was thinking if they treat each applicants fairly and what's the main reason for pending visas.

I'm still waiting and hoping for the good news though. In God's will I'll be with my future husband soon who's patiently waiting for me smile.gif

We don't have any choice but to wait and pray hard God will all help us! smile.gif

Document Verification is being done in a randomly basis..

So it doesn't matter if you paid or not.. If your case got picked you will be placed on AR.

But if your case didn't get picked, you really don't have to pay for the Docs Verification..
RoserickNot TellingPhilippines2008-05-05 05:44:00
Philippineswill it affect process if we get cenomar since were MARRIED
Get the CENOMAR but since your married NSO will issue you the CEMAR..

In alot of cases in CR-IR they don't ask for this.. But its always good to be prepared..

for me credit card is not a must if you have a bunch of cash to purchase a house, car etc... but if you're money is just enough, then a good credit card (to establish a good credit score) is a way to get a loan for a house, car etc in the future... i have an american express but it doesnt mean im out there spending whatever... its solely just for grocery (food)... just so we keep it rolling and active... my husband thinks its my way of building my future in case something (unforseen) happen... coz he said here in america you need to have a credit card/good credit score if you're not rich (per se lol) to make a big loan like a house etc...

Capital One does report our account information they just do not report what your limit is only what your high balance is. I added my husband as an authorized user to an account i have a few years ago and that account actually appeared on the credit report we ran last week. They did give him his own card about a week after he arrived in the U.S with a low limit but it did make it much easier and he now has some regular cards with high limits.

Good luck!

For the sake of simplicity... lets say your credit limit is $1000. But your "high balance" is only $200 and your current balance is $150.

That high balance is being reported as your "credit Limit". This is not good because your credit report is indicating that you are using 75% of your credit limit when in actuality you're only using 15%. This is not good for credit rating.

As far as I know, Capital One is the only one that does it this way and I dont know why.

What's in your wallet? Hehehehhehehe..

Once you get a balance and they start charging anywhere from 9% to 23% per month on you credit card, thats when the credit card companies start filling their bank accounts.

Credit card companies want you to pay the bare minimum each month, They don't like if when you don't carry a balance.

Hahahahaha.. Thank God I'm done with different types of Credit Cards.... I have just settled with my AMEX Blue Card..

It's always better to pay cash for anything you buy, Credit cards can get you in trouble in a quick way, by helping you build up a debt situation.

I rarely to seldom use a credit card.

You need to have discipline if you plan on using credit cards, and don't get yourself in debt with them.

In America they say financial stress is a leading cause of divorce.

I don't know if you feel or see it.. It seems like the govt is trying to make this country a cash less society..

I have capital one credit card in my name.. But it is in my fiance's account.
Everytime I have a purchase it will go right away to his account, and he's the one who pay for it too smile.gif

It does work very good for us ... They don't charge international smile.gif that's why we are using it here in PI and in country that we visited and not our Debit cards coz our bank charged us service fee and international service fee. sad.gif

So for me, capital one is good when you are out in USA.

I don't know so much about credit cards yet,, but I think the best thing how to use it, is pay the full amount you purchased on the due date..

Ex. You bought cellphone worth $400 April 30 then ex the due date is May 30 ... then pay it on May 30 but better before, like 3 days before.. .

That's how we used our credit card smile.gif and it works fine... no charge, no international fee.. etc.. How much u purchased, is how much u will pay...

(This is my case only, i don't know others..)

So she just gave up.

Here is what she should do..

Tell her to get a cell phone contract on her name.. Of course she would get denied due to no credit.. They will ask her for a deposit.. Just tell her to pay a deposit..

Paying bills and paying bills on time is how you build your credit..

Also transfer some utility bills on her name, cable, telephone, etc..

After 6 months.. Get ready to be piled with Pre-Approved Credit card mails..

yes She has a cell phone and had one for 2 yrs. They did not ask for any money. But she has a cell and pays all the time. it is auto deduct.

You have some good suggestions.

I forgot to state that she has a visa but small limit. she pays all the time on it and on time, She has a Macy's and a QVC card.

Anyone who was done with their medical exam and interview in Manila. I am trying to figure out on which hotel is good to stay in Manila during the medical exam and interview. I am considering the distance of St. Luke's Medical Center, which is located in Quezon while the US Embassy is along Roxas Boulevard. I am planning to have the medical exam and interview done in one time when I will go to Manila. Could that be possible too? I think I will be staying in Manila for 5-7 days, or more than that?

I recommend BAYVIEW PARK HOTEL for the Interview..

Bayview Park Hotel is across the street from the US Embassy...

Also my wife stayed @ Bayview also for her Medical..

Rates are estimated $60 a night..

regarding vaccination, ive read here in VJ that you can take shots early and just present your certification that you already have that shot during medical interview..
it s stated there that, it would be cheaper to take shots in advance in your city/province than at St. Lukes. i thought that medical fee already includes the vaccination fee.... do you need to pay more for each shot?

The shots @ St Lukes are already included on the St Lukes Medical fee..

You need em or not, you basically pay the same..

So why pay and get em advance? If you get em for free @ St Lukes anyways...

Its not for me... Its for my brother who is co-sponsoring me for my wife..

Well Actually I already submitted the I864 last year.. I submited 04, 05, and the latest 06 ITR which was above the P-Line.

But my 07 is below the P-Line so I'm just preparing this in case the consul ask for my latest ITR..

I know.. I know.. they didn't ask for financial docs on the interview.. I have seen 3 IR-CR interviews already and no questions regarding financial docs were asked..

Just want to be prepared for any worst case scenario..

there is a reason why the CO no longer ask for financial evidences--they already have it in the packet sent by the NVC. Since you have already been declared by the NVC as documentarily qualified, the only thing that the CO needs to confirm during the interview is your identity, relationship and the eligibility of the petitioned immigrant.

anyways, if you still insisit on having your brother sign the form, he should be filling up and signing the I864A and NOT the I864EZ. to qualify for the I864EZ, all the following conditions must concur:

1. the one signing should be the petitioner of the intending immigrant;
2. the petitioner is using his earned income or retirement as evidenced by W2s; and
3. the sponsored immigrant is the only person immigrating based on the visa petition.

absent any of the above would automatically disqualify your brother from using the said form.

Well the PDF doc for the I864A is not working.. So I just used the I864 regular..

Try it out...

http://www.uscis.gov...form/I-864A.pdf

Like I said.. I am just preparing for the worst case scenario.. As I stated on my last post.. I have seen 3 IR-CR Interview and no Financial docs were asked.. So I totally believe you.. I am just being cautious since I know for a fact that I didn't meet the above P-Line for 07 and barely made it to the top on 06..

Thank You though..

Jim snd Mercy,
We had our interview last Jan. 4 and afterwhich the consul said we're almost done pls proceed to window 37. We go there, from there the man gave is the paper and said there is still a document to be verified, it will take 2 to 3 weeks for verification. We don't know what document to be verified. We paid at Delbros for the delivery of the visa already and keep on calling them too if the visa is already ready for delivery but up to now we have not heard from the USEM yet. Our lawyer sends her query to the embassy but they said to just wait. In fact, my fiance contacted already the congressman in his area and we're waiting for the reply. It has been 3 weeks now that we didn't hear from them. Don't know what was happening. The worst is my landline here in the Philippines is bayantel and we could not go thru the visa call center. I was able to call the center yesterday when i had a chance to talk to our GM at the office where i am working to let me use the phone(as we were not allowed to use for personal call) so i could contact the call center. When i get to talk to the call center agent named Cora she told me that it will take 6 weeks to verify the documents according to their system. And if after 6 weeks i will not hear from the Embassy, i will call again and let them know. I am just wondering why it took that long to verify the docs.? why not inform the concerned person what specific docs they want so they will be provided? we are in hell thinking about it and it made us desperate.
