Who to call for Green Card Status?

Finally received my wife's green card...

took nearly 3 months!! So disappointed with USCIS..

On the DS-230 they asked you a question on where do you want the green card to be delivered and my wife answered that correctly with our correct address.

On the Visa Data Summary sheet our address was wrong.. So we called the US Embassy Manila and they said its going to be fine, no hassle.

Upon POE we told the POE officer also that the Address is wrong on the Visa Data Summary sheet, she took the correct address and entered it on her computer.

After a month and still no welcome letter and of course no green card. We called USCIS and they told us, they have sent the Welcome letter to the address provided and I asked them what address was that and they told me the wrong address..

So incompetent.. I had to argue my wife's case stating why ask the question on the DS-230 if their not even going follow it.

Well the bottom line is this fairy tale story has finally ended and we finally got my wife's green card..

Thank You all for all your help... This was a great forum to share my journey..

And to others out there.. Have a safe and successful Journey..

I will be having the same problem too.. I am in the middle of the processing of my I864 which I submitted 2 weeks ago. Just last weekend I found a very cheap and good apartment so I took advantage of it and will be moving in next month.

So I called NVC this morning.. Here is what they told me.. They told me to call them back after I moved to my new apartment and update them to my new address.

They told me not to worry and everything will be fine.. "I hope so"

IR-1 Visa Interview Just Formality?

I have been on an interview with the Consul.. When I was getting my daughter her US passport @ the US Embassy..

The Consul was just looking at my papers and asking me questions about what I answered on my papers... Like for example "CO: So you live in NY? How long have you lived there?" Stuff like that.. Common sense questions that you can answer if your really telling the truth and really married to your partner..

Sometimes they even doubt you if you bring too much evidence.. Like they ask themselves something is not right.. Why are they bringing all these stuff..

So I suggest to be natural.. Like what I did.. I didn't know I had to bring photos.. Lucky that I had photos on my wallet. That right there shows that I'm not hiding anything cause I was unprepared.

But don't take my advice about being unprepared.. That's just me to be natural.. Don't exaggerate..

My co-worker's brother is a Consul in China..

He had told me that IR-1 Interview is just formality? Is this true?

Means there is less chances of failing or getting denied..

He told me, the only reason you would fail if you don't know your husband's name or date of birth, or your date of marriage which is impossible in my opinion going to an interview without these knowledge..

What are your opinions about this?

It took 3 weeks on mine.. and they still sent me a notice of missing info checklist.. I asked them what was missing and yeah they told me my payment for the IV bill..

Wow.. I will try to remember.. Lets see.. Paid $70 for the Processing for the I864 then after they received the payment after 3 weeks I got the packet with the barcode and the go signal to send my I864 with the supporting docs.

i dont know if to expect the bill or the I-1864 first....i havnt received either one yet...

I was so scared today.. I just called the NVC and got on to the Automated Status..

Status says, I am missing some info and and a checklist has been mailed to me.. :-(

I was so curious on what it was.. So I called NVC live operator to ask what was I missing.. They were very nice enough to tell me.. I was so nervous.. She told me everything was processed fine, they have all my financial info that they needed the I864 form is fine also..

Guess what was the only thing missing?

The FEE BILL of $380 USD.. Oh my God... That was it!! I almost fell on floor.. I was so nervous to know what was missing and all she told me that the only thing missing was the fee bill of $380..

So I told her that the payment is so ready to go out.. I am just waiting for the bill.. And she was like ohhh... I am going to request another one for you, and clarified if my address was right..

Damn!! FEE BILL.. Where are you????

I don't think there is a denial for medical condition.. I think if you fail the medical exam, USEM will put your application on hold and get you cured 1st if possible then take the exam again..

The worst case denial is DRUGS (marijuana, meth, etc) PRESENT or PAST...

I think because he supported his I-130 with a K3 Visa.. So the spouse is entering the US on a K3 Visa not IR/CR.. Greencard will come soon when the IR/CR visa is approved.

If your approve.. I don't see the reason why you need I-864A. Like you said I-864A is for petitioner who doesn't meet the poverty guidelines and in need of an sponsor.
