You don't even need to submit these with the affadvait, just submit the bank and employment letters. Then on the 1% chance they ask for more income proof those copies of her stubs are golden. Okay looks like no one else has been doing updates so give me a few minutes and I'm going to try to catch them all...please PM me if in the next one I don't get everyone! Oh and Dan congrats! And Lawrence....I know you are CEO but if there is someone else who acts as an officer or HR person in your organization they can give you the authorization you need as well. United Kingdom	London Interviews 2006 (NEW)	As long as you both exceed the poverty level for the five of you JUST with your two salaries, and have letters from your employers confirming that you both currently make these salaries, then you are good to go. If you decide to keep your stepfather as a co-sponsor for AOS you may want to add his pension income and property onto those affadavits. The proof for that should just be a standard deed or tax return depending on what that is. For now you seem fine. United Kingdom	London Interviews 2006 (NEW)	You only need the letter of intent if on the date of interview your NOA2 has expired. IF that is the case then you MUST have a new letter of intent from your USC fiance(e) and it MUST be notarized. Otherwise I have never heard of them asking for it. I don't know anyone who was asked to show proof of continuing evidence. If you want to be safe just bring a few things, but they have all of that information in your 129F submission which they will also have in front of them when they interview you. Please keep in mind that the Holidays and the New Year where everyone was on mental or physical Holiday, really seemed to have put the embassy at a standstill. If you even look at when people submit their Packet 3s and then when they are getting their interview dates you can see a marked delay than there was even just two months ago. Second guessing what you wrote will not do much more now but make you worry. You know that no matter what you WILL spend the rest of your lives together no matter where it is, so please try to relax, I know this is easier said than done. But I am sure the love you have with Tom that is pouring out on these boards, poured out in your appeal no matter how you wrote it, so have faith in that. It WILL all work out I promise you that. Weebeansy, I actually broke up with my last boyfriend because he was so addicted to his PS2 and computer games that I swear he wanted to just jump in the screen and live in that world! But he never would have went through all this visa hell that your man went through. And if he went through with that to be with you, then you have absolutely nothing to worry about. I just liked having the peace of mind when i tracked it, that I saw it was delivered and signed for. But when the embassy tells you that your packet has been received, or when they schedule your interview, you will have that same peace of mind. I just send ALL correspondence priority with tracking and will continue to do so through AOS, so that I have proof it went where it needed to go. You'll be fine! Samantha Don't send any pics back with the packet 3, they need to be brought on your interview date. There are also two documents that you aren't supposed to sign until you are at the embassy. Please see below link for more info. Miranda, you need to send back all of the paperwork in order for them to schedule your interview. This includes the DS230, DS 156, DS 156K and DS 157 AND the checklist. Even if you don't have the police report back or you don't have the I-134 affadavit ready, just check off everything as if you do, since you WILL have it all by the time the interview arrives. Otherwise there will be a huge delay in getting your date. Sending back the checklist alone does nothing, they need ALL of the other Packet 3 forms in order to enter the new case file information into their system. And consequently if they have all those papers and no checklist, they still won't schedule you since they assume you aren't ready. You need to send it ALL. Here is the London Embassy site which can give you more info on this all. http://www.usembassy...processing.html Then once packet 3 and checklist are in (you need to send this recorded delivery with signature request) you can wait about 2 weeks before you very nicely start emailing the embassy to see if they have all your forms and if they can give you a date. We received our date about a week after my fiance had his medical, which was about three weeks after we sent in our Packet 3. Wow another police certificate, from the USA? But you've only been here less than a year. And another medical? Hmm I wonder why they single some people out for these things? I think they may start requiring a second medical once in the USA, because when we had the interview, the officer asked us if we had another one here, and looked really hopeful like if we had one just for kicks, it would have given us major brownie points. I don't know. In the meantime you have an amazing job and if you get the AP you can travel. My new theory for my situation is that if Adam can legally work and travel abroad, then screw the GreenCard, I won't let it get me down. We just wanted it to one day get his dual citizenship so if we ever came back to the USA we would never have to go through this again. This is all making living in England seem very nice right now. United Kingdom	London Embassy Graduates Thread	Kiki total congratulations on getting a job, that is amazing! Had our AOS interview this morning. The guy didn't want to see any papers but asked us a zillion on the spot questions like what my favorite food is and to name three of our spouse's friends and where they live. Seemed a lot more in depth than many of the interviews I've read about. After 30 minutes we were told we were PENDING since the security check had not come back. Since Adam has his fingerprints in late May, the interviewer thought it was strange that the FBI didn't have the results yet. He said that if he cleared, and the case came back to him we would be approved, but if it went to someone else they may not approve us. It was all really disheartening and I guess I didn't expect it. I had every t crossed and i dotted, but I guess that doesn't always help. Now we get to go into the big black hole of security clearance pending. United Kingdom	London Embassy Graduates Thread	Although my case was not updated online, I received an appointment letter for the I-485 initial interview on August 30 at 7:01PM! I only filed on May 2, so guess I thought I'd have a lot more time. I won't complain though. Is there a checklist pinned somewhere of things I need to bring, like if I need an updated affadavit? I've been on the AOS forums all day searching but I'm hopeless and the checklist in the appointment letter is useless and confusing. Okay maybe tomorrow I can figure out how to update my timeline! I just want to thank everyone for all the help and advice you gave on putting together my holy trinity of AOS applications. I mailed them off overnight on Thursday 4/27 and we have the biometrics appointment this saturday May 13 already! First step about to be tackled. Thing is Adam and I both have the flu and my car is in the shop for the next two weeks. Oh but it's all an adventure. Thanks again to everyone. I feel like a huge weight is off my shoulders now that the apps are in! Pax: there have to be some great British food stores in Philly or at least just a section in your local market. Now that I have actually looked for these little nooks, I realize marmite, walkers and lucozade are everywhere. And now I am addicted to Twiglets but well they are pricey. I havent put them in the fridge yet to chill, just dumped hot custard on and VOILA! Custard makes anything taste good. OKay one more AOS question and then I promise no more (really I do!). Now that I am sending in three packets, the EAD and AP ask for just one or two evidential documents, while the I-485 asks for everything. I am afriad that just giving the two photos and a copy of the I-94 front and back for something is just not going to cut it, despite the forms saying its all they need. United Kingdom	London Embassy Graduates Thread	Three Seperate packets? Ahhhhh blah. But I'll do it anyway, and have three tables of contents too! Thanks so much everyone!!! I'm almost done! So the G-325A just gets attached to the EAD, and the other petitions just get whatever proof they ask for Im assuming? Our vaccination story was a nightmare. You would think in NY that there would be tons of civil surgeons, and on the USCIS page it shows there are. But we called about twenty who all denied being civil surgeons and rudely hung up on us. Finally had to trek to some place called "Green Card Medical Exams" figuring if they couldn't do it no one could. Cost $60 then another $60 for another MMR jab they said Adam didn't get at Nuffield and was not listed on the Embassy site as being required. I don't quite believe them on that, but it was just easier to suck it up and pay and be done with it. Oh that got put in a fancy "do not open" packet. At least most american cars are automatics and you don't have to reverse around corners or whatnot to pass your test! I know that if I move to the UK with Adam one day I just will be taking the bus despite driving for 14 years here. Hmmm I'm sure that if you forward some kind of receipt for your AOS packet that the DMV cannot refuse you a license. I think half the cabbies here in NYC don't have their greencards yet and it doesn't stop them. I took a peek at the Virginia DMV site and couldnt find anything. Can you call their customer service line and ask? Im sure they just need some proof that you are trying to adjust status. Okay so I WILL finish the AOS application this weekend, I swear. I just have some questions, if anyone can help. Ive read all the papers 100 times over and some things still dont make sense 1) Can I pay with checks? It says to check your local office but this goes to a lockbox so that doesnt apply. I hate money orders! 2) It really all goes to a lockbox in Chicago? How odd. 3) I need some of the same backing documents for the EAD, AP and AOS, do I have to include the same copies of this evidence (i.e. I-94 front and back, passport id page) behind each application or can I just have one big section in the back of my two hole punched, tabbed on the bottom, packet of joy that will apply to all applications? Im writing my table of contents now so just wanted to know. I know thanks to Rebecca that I need 6 photos (one set for each app) but I wasnt sure about the copies of documents. and you know Id think of a crazy one... 4) Do I fill in the Affadavit of support in my new married name? I changed it via the marriage certificate but havent had time to get it changed anywhere else. My taxes and pay stubs are in my maiden name. Ahhh yes, Im back with the crazy questions. So everything went smoothly with the wedding, the ceremony was quick and easy, the reception had more food and drink than I could ever imagine, and it was just amazing to have gotten this far. Then we we did touristy things here in NYC, went to DC for two days then Colonial Williamsburg. For those of you have not yet been there I highly recommend it! It is fun, romantic, historical and peaceful. They do have this new exhibit though, about the Revolution where they have people screaming in the streets to beware of the British! It's all good fun though and Adam loved it. Anyway I am clucking. I hope everyone is good and I can't believe so much time has passed since I've been on here. We are just about to assemble the AOS packet, we filled out all the forms, so I know I will have some ridiculous questions soon! What have I missed? We live in NYC and by looking around most of the couples there were non-US Citizens so they have it pretty much down pat. No SSN required! In fact, writing your name in the English language didn't seem to be a requirement either. I took a week off between our wedding and our honeymoon so Im aiming for then. I just filled out all the paperwork on Wednesday in a panic. The hardest part is figuring out which numbers are which on the K1 Visa! Downloading the free trial of Adobe 7.0 is a lifesaver on this, since it allows you to fill in and save the forms. So if anyone has yet to do this, I recommend going this route. I just have one question. If I file for AP, and EAD with the AOS, do I still have to have two passport photos attached to each application? Or just the two attached to the G-325A will suffice for all needs? Might as well get all of those taken now so all I need is the marriage certificate and Im set. Employment verification letter in hand and well I have my tax return for 2005 since I just filed it. Do I need to add my 2005 W-2 as well? Is this too easy or is it just me? The wedding is in 10 days and just last week my mom called to tell me "oh by the way I blew all the money I was using to pay it, so I hope you have it". Needless to say I've been BEYOND stressed!! Anyway it just hit me today that I have not went with Adam to apply for his SSN or even started filling out AOS papers. I think I am just in denial that we have to do this work. United Kingdom	London Embassy Graduates Thread	Pax, I think if there was a manual I wouldn't even understand it because my brain is fried And if it was anything like the direction manuals that Target gives you to assemble furniture, I would most definitely NOT be able to follow Anyway I know this is easier said than done but you have to try to stop feeling guilty right now. I know that one more thing that might stress Ewen is that you DO feel this way. Just the fact that you care about his feelings and what he is going through, shows that you truly do love him and that you are there for him emotionally and spiritually though you can't be physically. When it all comes down to it, he is the only one who can really do this and it's something that needs to come from within. You are being a great fiancee by being there for him, even if you sometimes have to cut time short. I think that the important thing here is for the USC to NOT totally change their routine but open it up to their UK loved one. You should still have your girls night and nights with the family when Ewen is here and most certainly now. If you give all of it up or even most of it then you will lose a sense of yourself and start to feel really alienated as well. I'm kinda in that stage now. I miss coming on here so much, I dont talk to my friends as much, or family...I feel like I don't have enough hours in a day to accomodate everyone. But at the same time I know how difficult it was for Adam to leave everyone behind so I want to make his life welcoming. I CAN tell you that if you get fox soccer channel and BBC America it will be a great start to show that this world is not as large as it once was. Right now, even though Ewen is doing one of the hardest things he will ever have to do, you are there for him but you also have to take care of yourself. And when he is here, then you can still do those silly things but maybe instead of girls nights up front you do "friends nights" and invite him along. Until you both can fall into a routine together and he can have his own friend base to have his "nights" with. There is no simple solution for any of this. This will most likely be one of the most stressful times you both will ever go through. But you knew back when you sumbitted your application to the USCIS that this is where it would lead. And as long as you both know that you would rather take risks to be together, than lead stable lives apart, then you will both be great. Just hang in there!!! United Kingdom	London Embassy Graduates Thread	Kiki, Adam and I are doing well. We are finally starting to live a box free existence after moving to our new place but we love the apartment. The only thing that I never saw coming was that he absolutely cannot put together furniture. I made the incorrect assumption that because he's a dude he could put together all our Target stuff but I was SO wrong. So we have boxes of unassembled furniture just waiting for me to try my hand at it LOL But I am so happy it's sick. I am so glad your AOS interview was scheduled so soon...I know you will breeze right through it! Pax and Beansy I totally know where you both are coming from. The seperation towards the end becomes almost unbearable especially once your loved one has their Visa in hand. Then we feel so impatient for them to just get here, when meanwhile they are over there upset because they are leaving everything and everyone they know. As for the stress part Pax , yes it is stressful for Ewen to try to see what belongings he will take and what he can leave behind, but believe me it will be just as stressful for both of you once Ewen gets here. Even if he brings a lot of his stuff immediately he wont know many people or have hobbies here or a job and he will most likely feel lost...I know Adam felt the same way and is just starting to fill his time by navigating art galleries. And it is stressful to you because your routine WILL change. I know that Adam does not have much to do all day so at night he wants to spend total time with me. I find it hard to watch all my TIVO and even log on to the computer to chat with friends, but I figure it will all even out soon. I think right before and right after the UKC arrives can be very stressful for both parties and lead to a lot of stress and fighting, but if love is there, it will prevail Okay so I do have one shop question here. I know this was on the boards but I can't find it so maybe it was on the old ones? We are going to get Adam's SSN on Monday...we are going to try for a slam dunk of SSN and Marriage license in one day since I dont have any more days off to take we have to combine the two. On the SSN application, it asks if he is legally allowed to work. I know he isn't yet, but should he check yes anyway? If he doesn't I think he needs to provide evidence of why he needs the SSN for other reasons and that seems complicated. I've been a bit quiet lately as Adam and I just moved house on Saturday. It is so different once you no longer have to count down the seconds you are together. But it's also tough with now having to share living space, doing domestic stuff, managing money... it is all so adult! I know Adam is having a difficult time because he is away from friends and family and his country and everything is so new to him. Simple things like not ever having a gas stove, seeing how expensive beer is, having no bank account of his own, it's all very tough on him, so right now we are trying to make the best of it all while we try to adjust. It's all wonderful, but it's taking a bit of time to get used to, so until then I am not even going to think about AOS. I'll file after Im married next month, I need a break!!! It took an hour to dig my car out, I fell in the snow and couldn't get out, I floundered like a beached whale and couldn't get up! It was actually really funny. What I didn't know and what I found out once I got to newark was that when I fell I lost the alarm remote to my car!! Anyway I lived and I have a spare and after four hours at the airport Adam came out! POE was a breeze he said! I hope everyone is keeping warm in this horrible snowy weather!!! It appears that Adam's flight has finally taken off from Montreal and is scheduled into newark in 2 hours. I know Im crazy but Newark is far from me and I cant leave him waiting there with no where to go after being stuck in planes and airports all day. I'm going to try to get off my backroad and to the highway which is only four blocks away then see if I can cross 2 bridges to get to him.
