PhilippinesShe is taking driving lesson
I actually had my learner's permit for driving in the Philippines. I started learning to drive before I left for the US but work took so much time I never managed to fully learn how to there. When I moved here, my poor hubby endured driving me to and from work for a year. It was mostly because I kept putting up a fuss and the driving test part scared me.

But hubby made me bite the bullet and take it so now I drive to work alone. It's liberating but it sucks to have no one to talk to on the long drive to work and back. I don't think stop signs are optional though and always make sure to be on the lookout for them. Posted Image I have no sense of direction though and rely on my tomtom for directions. I panic when the darn thing starts dying. Posted Image

PhilippinesBalikbayan Boxes
Hi guys,

I just wanted to know if it's safe sending balikbayan boxes to the PI. I was thinking of sending one to the family back home. Also I have just arrived in the US, so would I even qualify to be able to use one or do I need to go home first to be considered a balikbayan? My husband threw in another concern too and that is customs and applicable fees. How much would it cost to send one? Would it have a hard time going through customs?

Sorry guys. I am just not sure where to get the answers to my concerns. I have looked on some courier sites but nothing seemed specific.

Thanks a whole whole lot to any answers that come my way.

PhilippinesFilipina temper ! How you control it .

My wife says kaldero is a heavy iron pot. Still, even a small sauce pan would hurt.

We call those Dutch ovens here.

A very large saucepot then. Hahaha.

You throw Dutch ovens?

Hahaha. I don't throw anything. Kaldero is a saucepot, unless I'm mistaken.

PhilippinesFilipina temper ! How you control it .

Well, I'm bringing this topic coz I am curious if how do you act and handle some of your situation when you are in the middle of a heating arguement with your spouse just because of his comment or act about something, that for you it was insulting and offensive and hurt your ego and filipina your pride. But according to them.. they didn't say anything like that or didn't mean it that way. But anyway, other than that... there still some fights here and there no matter how we all tried to avoid it. How do you handle it when you are very emotionally hurt by him ? Specially that they have a law here about domestic violence  .

For almost 3 years of marriage I think I learned a bit of how to control my self not to be angry, coz it is more harder for me to control my self when I'm already angry  . there will be a toilet paper, spatula or a pillow flying across the room if I'm already in that point. Sometimes there still some arm pinching and kicking him out of bed when he still chose to sleep in the same bed with me. Imbarassing.

How some of you do handle your fights ? Are you one of those who easy to let go and keep it to your self or you are the type of person that have a guts to say to your husband the "How dare you to talk to me like that" ! lol.

No judgement here please.... we are all human and nobody is perfect. Not even a relationship :D .

My hubby hates any tampo coming from me. He likes to discuss things when there is an issue or when I get mad or upset about something. Of course, I usually do the opposite which is to pout and not talk to him for a while. Childish? Yes. He has never felt the impact of a flying kaldero or tsinelas though so at least in that regard, he is extremely lucky. Being the awesome hubby that he is though my husband usually tries to cajole me out of my bad temper. It always works especially since he readily accepts that he gets to be blamed for everything. Posted Image When you have someone who has an attitude like that, pouting for long is a waste of energy. So we rarely get into skirmishes. Posted Image I have been known to lay on the guilt trip like sleeping on the floor. So much more visually disturbing. Posted Image

PhilippinesHow did u meet your fiancee/fiance/wife/husband?

Uh my hubby is American but I certainly didn't pimp myself on the internet. Yeah we met online, and were an online couple for 3 years before taking the plunge and getting married. It's been 4 years since that day. I must be one heck of a pimp, if ever. good.gif

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI130 question
Hi people! I got married to the most wonderful guy just this aug.19. I went to the local civil registrar and was told it would be a month til the marriage will be recorded at NSO.Is it possible to use a certified true copy of our marriage certificate from the registrar so my hubby can go ahead and process his I130 packet right away?Or should we really have to wait until we get an NSO copy of it?

Thanks so much to those who reply.
