Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionGreen card expired, but have letter of extension for 1 yr
Sorry to hear this but honestly Adecco are a bunch of nitwits who have no idea what they are doing....sorry the venting is because of personal experience. Also you dont need to show your green card for this and basically you shouldnt have. But now that you have, you should gather supporting evidence of your claim best from USCIS website oreven the social security administration.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionVSC and Visa Questions
Thank you for the replies. I was a little unclear on my second question. Im not asking USCIS for a visa. One condition for visa approval is showing proof I can come back to the USA. So I guess my question is has someone been through the process of applying for a visa through the extension letter.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionVSC and Visa Questions
Its been a while since Ive been on these forums. I just mailed in my I-751 petition to remove conditions today. I had two questions:

1) How good is Vermont Service Center at sending the one year green card extension letter?

2) We are planning on going to Europe in end of August. I need a visa for that. Has anyone had trouble obtaining a visa with an expired green card and extension letter from USCIS?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTricky Situation with I-751
I would make an infopass appointment to find out what you need to file.....regardless though it would be more waiting than anything difficult.....since she's been a PR for more than 3 years she's already eligible for citizenship...

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTravelling with expired GC and I751 case pending
Yeah your expired green card and NOA should be enough, I recently travelled to Canada without much of a hassle. I would say be always prepared to explain your situation since I had to explain mine to both Canadian and US Immigration officers. The US Immigration officer also ended up asking for my drivers license.

You can also get a stamp on your passport if you want but they will take your expired green card and keep it with them.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionHelp With Package
Are you sure you dont have any evidence at all? Lease papers, joint ownership of accounts etc. are not the only ways to prove you two were living together. I can think of a few things:

1) Personal letters comming to the same address
2) Online Purchase receipts that you made sent to your address
3) Photos of you two together over that period of time
4) Joint tax returns

If you have none of these how about an affidavit from two people either neighbours or family stating that they have seen you living together for the time frame in question.

Good Luck!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionBaby's Birth Certificate
A CRBA is as good as a birth certificate and since your kid wasnt born here and not registered in any state you wont get a normal birth certificate like all others. But CRBAs is a substitute for that.

Its agonizingly slow if you file at VSC but very good apparently if you file at CSC. Usually its done without an interview but no guarentee.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionIf I go for an Infopass
I guess you will get conflicting answers here also cause when I went for a stamp to Newark, NJ they took my GC away. I asked why this was done and they said it was standard procedure. I wouldnt worry too much about it anyway, a stamp is better than an expired green card.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionCan I change address once I have filed I-751?
You can change your address online. First you have to fill out AR-11 online and then it asks you if you have pending applications which you can then change addresses on. I did it a while ago and they successfully changed my address as all mail comes to my new address now. However, just to be sure i would call them also few weeks after submitting it online.

This is crazy.....they should process the older cases first instead of restarting the clocks.....after all we've been waiting for almost 9 months.....Vermont, California or Timbuktu its the same USCIS.....

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionUpdated VSC processing time
It is January 27 2008 but look at the line Service Center Processing Dates for Vermont Service Center as of: November 30, 2008

Plus I saw in a thread they started processing applications recieved in March, so its around the same time 10 months.

But I agree.....they should speed up their process...

Finally got a letter today from USCIS and I guess I should be happy that the case moved forward but they mentioned transferring my case to the local district office and I am supposed to wait for an interview date now. Well lets see how long that takes....my local office is Newark, NJ.

The wait continues.... wacko.gif

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionFinally Got the Interview Date
QUOTE (moparmusclecars @ May 17 2009, 12:15 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Did the embassy send you the interview date, or just send a notice to the beneficiary that they could call to schedule the interview? My fiance is in the Philippines, so I was just wondering if they had just sent you a scheduled interview date. Good Luck at the interview, I'm sure it will go just fine.

Thanks man! This interview though is for removing conditions on residency....

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 delays and US Senator help - California
I agree with above try calling USCIS to ask what is happening. I called them up and they usually ask the center to send a reply back. I received the reply in about a week, even though the reply was basically junk.

Also you can try and contact the DOH Ombudsman. Havent tried that but it might still be worth it.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussionquestion about interview waiting time
I guess it depends on the Local office but mine took almost 2 months. I actually called USCIS after a long wait asking why my interview had not been scheduled yet. The guy on the phone was actually confused since he didnt even know it was to be scheduled in the first place. But in any case he sent an inquiry to the Local Office and within a week or so I received a response from the Newark, NJ office saying my "case is pending rescheduling". If you didnt get that dont worry cause I didnt the first time either.

However less than a week letter I got my interview letter scheduled for 06/25/2009. Don't know if the phone call helped but its worth a shot.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionCase is pending and awaiting scheduling for interview Email from USCIS after calling mis information line
I applied for my citizenship even though my interview for removing conditions is next week. Might as well get in line. The delay couldnt possibly be more than waiting for the conditions to be removed first.

By the way try writing to your senator and file a complaint with the USCIS Ombudsman. That might help you in getting your interview. I had to wait almost 2 months for mine. Mine is also a clear-cut case, happily married with my wife for more than 3 years now.
