PhilippinesDS-156 Questions
I am filling out the DS-156 application: Nonimmigrant Visa Application. I have several questions since some of them are confusing. Again some of them may be stupid questions, but I have to confirm to keep the nerves at bay.

1. #22: When Do You Intend To Arrive in The U.S.? I don't have a specific date yet since this process is long. Can I just put November 30, 2012? That's the anticipated time frame. Is that ok?
left blank
2. #26: How Long Do You Intend To Stay in the U.S? - It is a Fiancee visa. What's an appropriate answer to write? I was about to say "Duh! Forever!" lolz I don't think that's appropriate. :bonk:
Permanent Residency

3. #27: What is the Purpose of Your Trip? - I intend to marry my fiance, ....., within 90 days of my arrival. Is that ok?
Marriage via K1 Fiancee Visa

4. #32: Do you Intend to Work in the U.S? (If YES, give the name and complete address of U.S. employer) - My fiancee intends to work, but does not have an employer yet. Is that ok?
No ( For us, its not a requirement, it depends on each individuals desire and also I think it refers to other types of visa's)
5. #33: Do You Intend to Study in the U.S? - My fiancee intends to study, but has not identified a school yet. I hope that answer suffices.
No ( For us, its not a requirement, it depends on each individuals desire and also I think it refers to other types of visa's)
6 #40: You may have guess, but I am preparing this for my fiancee. I am that OCD and nervous. Do I have to really indicate that I prepared this application? If yes, this means I have to sign it and send it to her????
I put my name there and signed it. I don't want any misconceptions that we were not 100% truthful)

As with everyone,,,, Its been such a long time for us. Even tho we talk daily, and have supported one another along the way, nothing will be as good as it is when I get to hold her hand, touch her face, and gaze into those smiling eyes...

Counting the days and hours :) :)

PhilippinesManila Hotel Reviews
Hi

I stayed at a few different hotels.... By far, the nicer ( and most convenient that I have used) is the Paragon Hotel. Its not expensive and nice, and is easy walking distance to most everything you will need including the Mall and Embassy.

I opted for the junior suite ( its huge) and when I extended and also came back there again, they gave me the same rates as I can find for them on Agoda dot com...

two thumbs up for them

PhilippinesVISA Released (10-17) 2Go Visa Delivery Time
LOL... 3 empty seats :)

My wife's visa took two weeks before it arrived, but we didn't bother checking on it until it was almost two weeks since the interview.

You can go online and check the status of the visa on the embassy website also B-) .

Glad the visa has arrived, now for the CFO sticker and find an airplane with a empty seat heading your way!

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Should we Cancel USEM Appointments ?

Should we Cancel USEM Appt ? due to St Lukes outcome ?

:help: :help: :help:

hELLO VJ'ers

My fiancee and her children went to their medical appointments at St Lukes this week. The 14 year old didnt pass the medical for possible pneumonia / tb precaution. Maybe associated with his Asthma when he was younger ( we dont know).

Either way, they want them to come back next week for the 3 day sputum followed by a 2 month wait and new x-ray.

Our problem is as follows:

03 Oct 2012 is the USEM Interview.
- St Lukes recommends my fiancee continue with the interview process, get the visas approved for the three of them that are eligible and then go back to the USEM for the final interview for the 14 year old after everything clears.

We wont know for 2 months if he will require a 6 month treatment
- If a 6 month treatment is needed, everyones medicals will have expired and we must reaccomplish all medicals.
- The travel visa for the three with no issues will also expire if we do the interview

- Weve been apart 18 months now, this will also push us over the 24 month limit for seeing one another.

My fiancee has had lenghty discussions with the children and also the realitives there about different scenarios that can occur. Everyone in the family recommends the following:

1. continue to the USEM and go to the appointment
2. If the visas get approved, then schedule flights and have the three come over and get them settled in
3. The realitives stated they would ensure meds are taken ( if needed) and appointments are met for the 14 year old.
- We would not be able to do the DOT (Daily Observable treatment) but rather ensure back in Cebu it is accomplished on our own.

I this a plausible option?

Will the 14 year old be allowed to go to the embassy for the interview "with" the family and then just be in a "pending" status based on the St Lukes clearance? or will he have to interview seperately ?

Will a gaurdian of the 14 year old be able to bring him to the embassy and sit in on his interview?

What paperwork changes (if any) would I need to do since he will then be considered a "follow on K2 derivitave" verses flying with the K1 applicant?

If anyone can provide some guidance here, I would gladly appreciate it.

Also... Am I missing anything I (we) hadnt thought of.

Can this be done as we see it occuring ?

Thanks

Ed & Loida

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNEED HELP. TY
Being retired military, i can say that the best advise will be to contact his branch of service personnel office. They will certainly give you good advice on what forms are needed.

I don't see any major problems, even with relocating to the US when he is done with his tour in Germany .. :) :)

Dependent on where he is stationed at (if it is a "joint spouse" location) is what you all need to know. They should have a Family Support Center where he can also get advisement. The ability to have spouses join the active duty member overseas is dictated by the SOFA for oversea locations ( non-USA locations) only. The reason for this is they don't want to place family members in areas where their is no support structure in place in case the active duty member gets deployed to another location.

Hope this helps some :)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionK-3 Denial - Morocco, of course
I think my guy interviewed with the same lady from H*LL  She was terrible!! He answered all her questions, but she kept asking him about what schools I attended when I was a child. We had never been asked about that before, and I filled the forms out myself and e-mailed them to him so he would have all my info. I know the papers asked about high school and college, which I filled out and he also told her about, but she would not listen. Then she would not believe that I have no children, because early in our relationship I had temporary custody of my best friends 2 kids. I only had them for about six months, but they are a huge part of my life and I often feel as if they are mine too. When he tried to explain about the temp. custody, she told him she did not care and did not believe him. What is that? She is crazy. She kept him there for nearly 2 hours! everybody else around him were being granted their visas and he was still dealing with the physco!! So now I am at a loss, I have never done any of this before and I have no idea what the next step is. The embassy tells me I have to wait until they send everything back here. My guy tells me he has been talking to others there that have dealt with her too and some have given up, others managed to eventually get their visas. He says that what we need to do is send an e-mail and cancel this app. and then apply for a new one with all this new info and the letter he was provided and that it would be approved within 4 months. Has anyone else experienced this? What is the right road to travel here? :help: I am very confused and a bit distraught over the whole thing.
Any and all advice, comments would be helpful and welcome.

Thanks,
Becke

Africa: Sub-Saharank1 visa
it would help if you updated ( or added ) to your profile. That way you can get country specific information from others facing same embassy issues. By also keeping your timeline up to date, it gives others a way to track their own progress too.

Does anyone know if their is a cost list for requires Immunizations from St Lukes in Manila ?

Ive been thru their websits and cannot find any , and my searches for this kind of thread on here hasnt come up with anything.
