He was just asked five questions about me and couple about hiself then the person interviewing him handed him the yellow form 221g for further administration process. They gave his passport back but kept everything else. I heard it could take months or even longer. Now its been just one month. Nothing new. Ive been checking the ceac website and it says under ap.. the date however keeps getting updated. Last time I tried to check it said application error but I think the system is having a issue. Anyways the next day after my fiance interview he got a call from the embassy asking him questions about his family and him. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	November 2012 filers	Hey everybody! November filer here, we have our wedding planned for August 31st! CSC keeps pushing their processing time further and further back it seems... My fiancé and I were thinking, in a worst case scenario that we don't receive her visa in time for the August 31st wedding date, can she just come across the border (she is from Canada) and we can still do the wedding as planned, we just won't formally and legally be married yet. Then, once we are approved, can we just go across and get married in the courthouse to make it official? We have tried to expedite the process due to financial hardship since we have nearly $7k in non-refundable deposits and expenses already paid but were denied... Does anybody see a problem with this from a legal perspective? It won't be the same, but it's our best option for our situation. Thanks in advance!	DB_LS	Not Telling	Canada	2013-04-22 17:17:00

Unfortunately, the USCIS customer line isn't the best resource, so they probably said you'd receive an RFE, but didn't really know if that would happen. It affects all of the UK, not just England. Basically, the UK citizen would need to show income of close to $30k without a co-sponsor, including any income that could be brought to the table by the spouse. If there are children, the income requirement goes up to a minimum of $35k (each additional kid increases the minimum by about $3800). Don't have $30k saved up? Well, the UK citizen can return to the UK to secure a job, but the spouse and kid(s) will have to stay behind until the financials are in place. The non-UK citizen(s) would have to show their knowledge of the English language that is suffice to pass an official exam. There's also a history test involved that unfortunately doesn't include any questions about Mr. Bean, Eastenders, or Dr. Who. The UK citizen must show they can support the non-UK citizen financially (i.e. no public assistance) for 27 months. And that's just the "probationary period." I see a lot of people on here recommending people to just send what they forgot pre-RFE notice, so that is definitely not the way to go since it seems VSC is planning to start (rightfully IMO) returning anything without the RFE notice documentation vs. trying to play "find the needle." There is an end in sight, but I'm shocked at what VSC is doing here. I don't think even CSC has been this bad before, and it's almost like a total stop. However, I think I know what's going on. Remember I said there were a heck of a lot of RFE's in December and November? Well, here's the VSC stakeholder newsletter for June, and rather unusually they have a dedicated section for RFE's http://www.aila.org/...spx?docid=40032 So I went through November. And December again! There's a lot of RFE's STILL there! This isn't VSC being slow! This is hundreds and hundreds of people that didn't file properly that have caused RFE's and literally stopped up the system. It's not slow because of some failed IT project, it's slow because everyone is so backed up processing RFE's! Not everyone who gets an RFE is going to be because they didn't file properly, of course there's going to be adjudicators that are being hard on people, or documents that are lost, but we know full well from posts on this forum that there are some people that just don't read instructions and throw off an application form with nothing else! It took about a week after the NOA2 to get it to the NVC and for it to be forwarded. So how can they just skip us?! The same reason why some people who filed petitions in April are being approved. Our petition has been approved on July 5 and has not yet been received by NVC. I know that CSC is much slower than VSC for sending the approved petitions out to NVC, but on the K1 Visa Timelines in VJ, there are 4 members from CSC with July 6 approval dates and 3 of them have NVC arrival dates of July 18 and one of them July 20 the reaction of the lady on the NVC today when heard our approval date is July 5 was :"Oh, wow!" I know, I know, I should wait more, but even they don't know how their system works It could take a month or more, alas. Our petition was approved on June 15. From there, it sat in the CSC's mailroom until July 12 when it was finally sent to NVC. Apparently, they bundle petitions and ship once a certain number/threshold is reached. But, once it reached the NVC, I had my number on July 17 and it's now at the Embassy as of today. If it gets to a month, I'd contact the immigration staffer in one of your U.S. Senator's office to get them involved. That worked for me. I contacted them on July 12 and she had an answer for me on July 13 noting that our petition had been sent to the NVC. Ugh. There is one other that I like but it's a bit more money so I don't know what to do........this sucks. This is why I haven't been planning this stuff! It just makes me mad like waiting for all of this paperwork to be finished!!! More frustration.....I was going to order it after looking at it one more time this morning and boom, gone. Not cool. kate&javi and I have been consoling each other daily on facebook now hahahaha This damn embassy is trying to kill us after we survived so much...she got us another way of speeding things along but no one is answering the phone today so they must not work on Fridays, just like USCIS....ugh. Well, I better go find something "fun" to do today so I don't cry! Have you checked Etsy? There are some amazing designers on that site from all over the world. It's not all hinky clothing like you see on Regretsy, thankfully! I found my dress on there. The price range can vary based on your budget, but you can definitely find one for under $200, even under $100. Plus, depending on the designer, they will customize it to fit your measurements. Of the 11 cases in my group there were 6 approvals and 5 RFE's... (or 45%) Is that about average? Not sure if the USCIS publishes data on RFEs. I know you can find reports on approvals and denials, though. The State Dept. data on visas seems more detailed since they include a column for those that overcame the first decision, which means the visa was ultimately approved. Yesterday marked 4 weeks since NOA2 and also the day when we got the LND number from the NVC. My fiance phoned and was asked for the beneficiary's name and birth date... the lady wasn't too pleased when he paused to think! I'm glad he finally remembered my date of birth before she declined him information!! On a side not, a friend of mine who was a VSC filer received her NOA2 10 days after me, and yet received her NVC notice in the mail last week. I imagine I might get mine next week. There seems to be so little logic to the whole process. I hope that you all get some news really soon! Our petitions were in the same bundle for sure! It says "the above petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate" but there's not a consulate listed on this paper and there's a number above my fiancé's (the beneficiary) name. Is that suppose to be the case number the NVC issues? It also says its valid from 7/12/12 to 11/12/12 If the number looks like AXXX XXX XXX, that's his alien number.
