K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresComplete view of March to June timelines for CSC

Ok, To make it easier I converted my chart to a web page. You can find it here:

http://gary.corneliu....insightbb.com/

If you click on the names it will take you to that members page so you can see their screen name.

Update your timelines and I will try to update this at least once a week.
Also, I encourage ALL of you to write your congressmen and point them to my page. It just might shake things loose!!

You rock, Gary!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresComplete view of March to June timelines for CSC
Thanks so much, Gary, for doing this! I've really been in the dark about it - just trying to add up the numbers in my head. It's depressing now to see that only half of the petitions in March have been approved, but it makes me a little more at ease because I haven't even received my IMBRA RFE yet.

I was thinking about the surge we had earlier with approvals followed by the slow trickle and I know this is just speculation, but... perhaps being the last month of summer, many employees at CSC took their vacations? Also, as the year progresses, could they possibly be running into budgetary restrictions? It would be awesome if someone here on VJ could find out just how many case workers they have on staff, and how many of them are just contract employees. My hunch is that if they had any legitimate reason why they aren't up to speed yet is because of understaffing from vacations and being underfunded.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAPPROVED!!!!!

Everyone!!! Thank you!!!! If you are a March filer, I would suggest a congressional inquiry. I think it is the only thing that gets the dust blown of our files. 152 Days too long.

VJ has been a wealth of information and support for me. Only thing that has kept me sane. Hang in there for those not approved yet, and keep the faith.

Excellent! Congratulations!!! :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures2 months,no touches, no rfe

It has been 2 months since NOA1(June 12) and when I log on to USCIS, the last time case was updated was June 15. I have not received RFE, which I guess everybody gets for IMBRA, right? Anyway, I see other cases with similar date to mine, and they have already received RFE and sent it back. On one hand, I am hoping that I have not heard anything because all papers were in order. On the other, its lost in a drawer. thanks for help

I'm right with you. We are part of the unfortunate ones with June NOA1's who used the pre-IMBRA I-129F forms.

What I ended up doing was fill out the new post-IMBRA I-129F form and mailed it to them, making it clear with stickies and a cover letter stating it as an amendment to my existing petition. The person I talked with said that should be okay. I may end up getting an RFE anyway, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to try and help get them the necessary info they need to process my petition.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVSC...............still!!!!!!!!!

To the >100 club members, no words can make that big an impact but we must put it all in perspective...you know...Sudan; Katrina; Pakistan earthquake; Tsuanami etc etc...The delay you are experiencing may actually pale in comaprison to some of these events and the lives that are still reeeling from them. When next you want to vent, please pause and consider those other people...........

That's fresh coming from an approved late June filer.

How dare you try to compare their battles with natural disasters???? That's just rude & ignornant.

 I second that. But I congratulate masterpiece on your approval. :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresComplaints on USCIS

You don't call or e-mail anyone at USCIS - it's not worth the time spent on doing it. They won't tell you anything different from what you get online and they'll give you canned responses. Sorry. Contact your congressmen/senators instead and ask them for an inquiry on your behalf.

Mew, I know you've probably posted the link before, but any chance you have the link to the official inquiry needed to be filled out when contacting our local congressman?

Also...I was planning on calling them again on the 3rd of September, after 30 days has passed since I have not received my IMBRA RFE. I'm close approaching 80 days without even the IMBRA RFE - do you think it's a good idea for me to ask my congressman for an inquiry?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAnother March NOA2 Approval

I have not been a particularly religious man for most of my life. But I have been exploring a religion for nearly two years now. Because the religion is new to me, and because I have never really prayed, it has been hard for me to pray. However, last night I prayed. I got to my knees and prayed to my God, for the very first time. I am well educated, and quite skeptical of many things - however, more than ever I wonder if there really must be some higher being....because today when I woke up and checked my email....it said, "your case has been approved".

To all of you who have been patiently and anxiously waiting.....I sincerely hope for you to have the same outcome that I have. And yes, I will be again on my knees, praying for us all.

March 28, 2006 - Filed I-129F at NSC
April 4, 2006 - NOA1
June 1, 2006 – Transfer to from NSC to CSC.
July 6, 2006 - IMBRA RFE Recieved in mail
July 10, 2006 - IMBRA RFE sent back to CSC
July 18, 2006 - CSC received RFE
July 19, 2006 - Touched
August 31, 2006 - NOA2 Approved via email message

Congratulations!!! :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: Faith can sometimes be a desolate place also - it's not always so magical...which is the real challenge. ;)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresJuly and Aug. NOA2's by date of NOA1

Hmmmm . . . TomyU, our NOA1 is March 30th and is currently parked at Cal. Are you saying in July the CSC granted NOA2s to 19 March dated apps, and in Aug managed another 32, leaving only 31 March dated apps to complete? Hence our app is one of only 31 left from March? Great if true, but that seems a little light for the CSC. Where did this data come from? Just like to check the stats before I start jumping up and down.

I downloaded all the VJ data into Excel, and did some sorts. I filtered out those who have not updated since June 30. Thus I found that CSC approved 19 March's in July and 32 in August. As of 8/31 there were 34 active March's that were not approved. On 9/1 there were 4 approved, leaving 30 active March waiting approval in CSC. In addition, CSC approved 111 in August. Thus they should easily clear most of the remaining March (30), April (31) and May (31-1 on 9/1) if they keep up the same pace.

If they kept up exactly the same pace and went exactly in order, then in Sept. they would clear:

March 34
April 31
May 31
June 15.

Then in October they would clear:

June 36 (finishing June)
July 68 (finishing July)
Aug. 7.

Thanks Tom for doing this!  It helps a lot! I'm one of the June filers who got pidgeon holed and never received an IMBRA RFE. So statistically speaking, I should get my NOA2 by the end of October, barring any problems. At least I can try to pace myself for that. Before, I was hoping and praying for an NOA2 by the end of August - but that came and went already. :star:

samir shannon - Thanks! I was given a bit of grace. I'm hoping the March NOA1 folks and all of the recalls get their well deserved approvals. What's up with that!!!

Please extend your grace to those of us also who haven't even received our IMBRA RFE's yet. I called USCIS yesterday and talked to someone thinking that perhaps they sent it and was lost in the mail but they confirmed one hasn't been sent. Not sure what to think except that I hit a window between June 6th and the time the new forms were online and am now in limbo until they get all those before then out of the way. I hope that's what's causing the delay.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresProcessing Time Question

Kelly,

What do VSC processing times have to do with packet 3?

What are you talking about, really?

Yodrak

Hi Everyone!

I'm new at this...we just sent in our packet 3 weeks ago. I was just wondering why the processing times for the VT service center seem to regress. 2 weeks ago, they were handling April 4, 2006 and now they are handling Feb. 23, 2006. Does anyone have any experience with Vermont?

Thanks so much!
Kelly

Yodrak, I think she meant she sent the packet (K-1 visa) 'three weeks' ago.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI called USCIS today...

I do hope you get your RFE soon, as i'm hoping all those who came before us get approvals soon.
We are happy to get through another step, that the CSC has our IMBRA reply already, and the phrase "the preliminary processing is completed" really made our day... however, we have a later NOA1 date than yours, and it just isnt' good.

Good luck.. and we hope that phone call you made amounts to some progress! :star:

Gen

Thanks, Gen. Holy cow! I'm seeing that now! I didn't know that people who filed later than me had received the IMBRA RFE. Now I'm wondering what the heck happened that I was overlooked...another hair turns grey...sigh.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI called USCIS today...
I actually got a live person on the phone and I told him that I still have not received my IMBRA RFE. He actually said that he would contact the person handling my case to request one be mailed to me. I was really surprised by his response because when I called last month asking the same question, the woman I spoke with only told me to wait for it in the mail. I'm just wondering what anyone else's take is on this - I really didn't think anyone answering phone would be able to do anything more than answer basic questions.

My guess is that some jackarse immigration lawyer posts his clients here to make VJ seem irrelevant. I've been suspicious of the few NOA2 announcements by newbies with short timelines for awhile. It could be subversive advertisement for using an immigration lawyer.

xxxx, I am pleased to inform you that your petition was approved today, September 7, 2006. The approval notice will be issued tomorrow and mailed to you next week. In about a week your petition will be forwarded to the National Visa Center for further processing. It has been my pleasure working with you.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEnd of the road

The reason i say all this and tell my story is because i think people on here should know about the hard times and not just the joy of getting a visa. Ever since i got it our relationship went down hill due to the fact that it became real. We were going to get married and she had enjoyed all the plans and dresses. I think its something we should all think about.

  It's easy to get so focused on just getting the visa because it takes so much of our energy, patience... I commend you both on being strong enough to realize your situation and facing it now. Hope that both of you know whatever is the right path to take. Peace.
