WAAAAAAAAA Oh my goodness congratulations!! Hm maybe I'll make a call to USCIS as well...

I'm pulling for you guys to get yours next! It's funny because when I got the touch on the 10th, I texted Jinky about it because I was excited. Then I called her up and asked her if she received the text, and she was indifferent about it - she said she didn't really have faith in any touch....BUT....that was the day of the approval!!! We just didn't know it!! hehehehehehehe.... :P

CONGRATS~!!!

There is definatley something wrong with the notification system because I never did get notification of my RFE being received, (even though it was), and others lately have gotten their NOA2's in the mail unexpectedly. I expect you'll get your NOA2 in the mail VERY soon if you were approved on the 10th, (did you check your mailbox today? - hehe!)

I'm very happy for you, (and what a cute little one you have too!).

Bill

Hi Bill! Yes! The official approval letter was in my mailbox today!!! Approved over a week ago....and today is exactly 6 months from that date that I proposed to her! (F) :star:

These guys must have a manual on excuses..

But what I do find weird..is how fast stuff happens sometimes after you call...it's like they don't worry to much about you till you call...And they go Whooops Next he'll call his congressman..better move him along..in front of they others that haven't called..

Start Jumping

I received the NOA2 by snail mail before the web site changed. Your good to go

I understand the sentiment, but what she told me makes sense. Many recent approvals had no email notification so it sounds like they are having some problems with their automated notifications. Now, I'll be looking in the my mailbox. :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

Thanks everyone! I would've gone bonkers without the support and knowledge here on VJ! What a gruelling process...phew.

I decided to call USCIS about my RFE they received over 2 weeks ago. The person on the phone, Officer Cluff said the computer shows my petition was approved on the 10th but it hasn't sent out the notification yet! She said she note it since I called to see if it doesn't send out the approval emails within the next couple of days, she will do an inquiry - something about a glitch in their notification system!

Ayeeeeeee! Should I jump for joy or wait until I have the confirmation email? :crying:

You should call CSC! You never know... Steven & Jinky got their approval by calling, and they have a similar timeline...

 ...pssst...follow the prompts as if you have questions regarding your RFE and then you will eventually get a live person on the phone. Then tell them you are calling about the RFE you mailed back awhile ago. They will look up your file on screen and tell you whatever is there...hehehe. :P

If I had to return home 6 months after approval, could I? Sorry for all the questions...

It depends on how long you take to get your AOS, but I believe it is possible... see below

This general guides apply to people who are required to file for Adjustment of Status once they enter the US to maintain their legal status. This applies to certain non-immigrant visa holders with a K1, K3, and others.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-797C

After reading many posts about the long time between approval notification and receiving the I-797C I was surprised when I opened my mailbox to find mine. Aprroved Monday, mailed Tuesday arrived Thursday. Steven did you get yours? :D

Yes!!!!

Congratulations!!! :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

I don't know if you read the post earlier - 2 people who were approved on the 11th, have already found out that the NVC had received their visa and that it was in transit to their prospective embassies! Here's to hoping we'll experience that same good fortune!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAre computer guys slacking off?

I believe Steven of Steven & Jinky posted recently that CSC told him the update system had a glitch??

 They finally updated mine today (It says I was approved on 10-19 even though the official letter says 10-10) and I received the emails, but... only because the officer I spoke to over the phone said she'd track my case to see if the automated notification system would send out the emails or not. She said that they are experiencing a glitch in the system.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresJinky speaks!
HI everyone in VJ! it's me Jinky here! I finally have the nerve to post my view regarding this NOA thing! :D

4 months ago, I was so excited about the NOA1! Thinking that after a couple of weeks, RFE will be sent and sooner the NOA2! My Steven kept on encouraging me to visit this site to make me feel at ease, he always told that we're not alone! There are plenty of us in the same boat! Honestly, it was very hard for me to realize that we have to wait this long. But as the saying goes... "no pain, no gain!" But do we really have to go through this??? I guess so! :crying:

Now, we got the NOA2! Thank GOD!

I know it's still a long way to go... Waiting is not yet over! But for sure, there will always have a sunshine after a gloomy storm! Just hang in there! :D

Of course, I wont end this without saying THANK YOU! Thank you for the people who were there all these times. Those who shared their views or opinions! It may hurt other people's feelings but it helps somehow. It helps us to sharpen our minds and thoughts! To accept criticism with open arms and just take it as a challenge!

And lastly, Thank you My Steven for everything! Your love is the enough answer for all this waiting! I LOVE YOU BABY and I always will! JUst MiSs YoU badly uy! :D

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSuper Fast NVC Processing

This is good news, I hope, for a lot of us.

Yesterday, the NOA2 letter arrived in the mail with Notice Date of October 11. Today the NVC confirmed that the application arrived and was forwarded to the Manila embassy on October 18. We now have a NVC Case Tracking number as well.

Strangely, the USCIS online status still shows not approved and their Customer Service supervisor told me that they don't have a procedure to contact CSC to correct this error. Oh what a relief to be finished with the CSC! :P

Perhaps the delays in forwarding petitions from CSC to NVC have been resolved for a while. Just sharing some good news with you all as this website has been the ONLY place we have ever been able to get helpful information on what is happening in the Visa process.

Wow!!! That's awesome! Hope that wasn't just a glitch and the rest of the approvals also got sent in a timely manner.

No, no, you must marry Jinky twice now. And buy her double the wedding presents.

:o ....ok...she does deserve that! She's so awesome...I'm one lucky dog! :star:

I have a better idea, since you really don't need two, how about sending me one of them? ... or you could just list it on Ebay and post the item number here... :P

Bill, I sure hope you get yours soon! I'm pulling for you on that! We really were at the edge of despair right before getting the approval. Just keep hanging on and believe it will happen soon! :star:

Their systems and procedures are so poor! But USCIS will tell you that a paper document is the most reliable source of information. You are definitely approved and should just save both letters. I assume the Approval Date you mentioned is based on the Notice Date on the I-797 form. Does the date range shown under the words Approval Notice begin the day before the Notice Date on both your Approval letters?

The main thing that matters at this point is the date in which your petition arrives at the embassy in Manila so you can get in line for the interview. If you try to find out what has actually happened to your petition or which is the actual approval date from USCIS, you will get no help from them. I spoke to an agent and a supervisor and got nowhere. They will just tell you to wait to hear from NVC and ask them.

Keep checking with NVC if they have seen it yet and maybe they can tell you which approval date is shown. It can get there fast so hopefully yours will arrive very soon.

Best of luck!!!

Yes, I will call NVC on Monday first and then ask them what date they have. If they haven't received it yet, I'm going to call USCIS and ask them which date I should go by, but I'll definitely give Jinky both approval letters for the interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures2 MONTHS SINCE NO1 YET NO RFE....WHO IS IN THE SAME BOAT?

Just my little rant. I got my NO1 back in June yet I still have no RFE? Is this common. I
originally sent to Texas Service Center but was Transfered to CSC. Words of encouragement
please. :-(

We have the same NOA1 date and I also have not received my IMBRA RFE. I called a few weeks ago and was able to talk to someone at USCIS. I offered to send in the new form 129F as an amendment to my petition and she said that was fine as long as I clearly marked it with stickies stating that it is amendment and not an original submission. I hope it helped...anything to get them to bloody look at my petition. I'm going to call again Sept. 3rd if I don't hear back from them.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresApproved 1 day after they received my RFE

Phew...thanks for clarifying that Meauxna. Do you have any clue as to why Kirk and Jenny and a handful of others have gotten approved so quickly through CSC while there are so many of us that haven't even received our IMBRA RFE's that applied at the same time? :(

I suspect that Kirk used the once-well-known chicken bone voodoo spell that many used to get through Service Centers quickly. A google search will reveal the recipe.

for the ha-ha impaired: that was a joke. I don't have that recipe anymore and it never existed. Seriously. <braaawwwwk>

Steven: sorry pal, no idea. Having seen the back end of a very small DO, I can only shudder to imagine what the paper flow looks like in a place as big as the CSC. I know it's no comfort, but I really don't think there is anything you can do to influence your case at this point. Sit tight and stay happy. :)

PS: I am not recommending this, but sometimes a solution is to simply refile.

Refile? Would that mean they'd have 2 separate petitions with receipt numbers? Would that complicate anything should the first one finally get approved? After I called back on the 3rd of this month, they touched my file 3 times, but after that nothing. I was planning to call again on the 3rd of September if I don't see any progress. I also sent in the new I-129F form as an amendment - I did so after asking USCIS if this was okay.

I'm willing to hang tight if I can have confidence that they will eventually get back on track and process these petitions by order of the NOA1 dates. But it sure seems like CSC still hasn't recovered from the effects of IMBRA. Sure wish they would decide not to approve any newer petitions until all IMBRA petitions from March thru June are approved....wishful thinking I suppose...sigh.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresApproved 1 day after they received my RFE

SECOND-Make it easy for them. I don’t know what you call these. It was a plastic filer with 12 compartments. At the top of each compartment I put a label (Correspondence, Divorce decree, Birth Certificate, etc.) where the information was.

THIRD-I put a letter in the front describing the contents of each compartment (Correspondence=chats, Proof of visitation = pictures, visa photo copy etc.)

Sorry to be a buzzkill, but all of those things are stripped away in the mail room and your petition is reassembled before going to the officer. It potentially slows you down (but not by any measurable amount).

Phew...thanks for clarifying that Meauxna. Do you have any clue as to why Kirk and Jenny and a handful of others have gotten approved so quickly through CSC while there are so many of us that haven't even received our IMBRA RFE's that applied at the same time? :(

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresany guesses why no noa2's this week?

We saw a lot of people got approvals several weeks ago, the CSC people worked for overtime and weekends. Now most of them are taking vacation.

My senator's office today told me that the contracts are running out shortly - I think she said end of September - for most of the workers. So many of them have already left their jobs. Not knowing if their contracts will be renewed means no job security. So once again, they are short-staffed.

Backlog Reduction. The 2006 Budget continues funding for the President’s multi-year $540 million initiative enabling USCIS to reduce the backlog of applications, and ensure a six-month processing standard for all applications by the end of 2006. In 2004, USCIS has continued the focus on quality improvements and expanded national security checks, such as performing background name checks on all applications before approval. Although the checks have initially meant longer processing times, enhanced security will ensure that only eligible applicants are given the right to enter the United States. In addition, USCIS began implementing significant information technology improvements including electronic filing (e-filing) for certain immigration applications.

Over the coming year, the Department will focus on transforming the application process with a greater focus on customers. DHS will establish clear performance milestones, actively monitor progress towards these milestones, and ensure integrity by establishing comprehensive quality assurance measures.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRFI???????????????????????????????????????????????

We have NOA1 of 6/12/06. I have read where alot of others that submitted to the California Center already recieved RFI'S . I have not recieved any emails that indicated that RFI has been sent and only touched on 6/19/06. SHOULD I OR CAN I CALL THE SERVICE CENTER ABOUT THIS. I have had mailed delivered to other adrress's before?

We have similar NOA1 dates and I haven't received my IMBRA RFE yet. I called USCIS almost a month agree to inquire and they can't say when we will receive them but they will notify you by email if you are registered with their website. What I ended up doing was fill out the new post-IMBRA I-129F form and mailed it to them, making it clear with stickies and a cover letter stating it as an amendment to my existing petition. The person I talked with said that should be okay. I may end up getting an RFE anyway, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to try and help get them the necessary info they need to process my petition.

Update your timelines and I will try to update this at least once a week.
