Thanks to everyone who have answered all my questions & good luck to those who are still waiting for their Oath schedules. US Citizenship General Discussion	APRIL 2012 FILERS N-400	Hi I saw you are also filing in Phoenix office. I got my interview on Sept 7. And now waiting for my oath ceremony letter to schedule oath. Can you share with me when your interview was conducted so you got the oath ceremony date on Sept 27th. thanks for much !! I sent my application at Phoenix Lockbox but had my interview at Portland Field Office since I'm from Oregon. I had my interview last Sept 6. A week later on Sept 13, got an update that they scheduled my Oath Ceremony on Sept 27. The Immigration Officer told me that it was going to be 3 weeks later that my Oath Ceremony will LIKELY be scheduled. True enough that it is exactly 3 weeks later after the interview. US Citizenship General Discussion	APRIL 2012 FILERS N-400	Just passed my interview in Philly. Had to wait at least 45 minutes for my name to get called. The interview and testing took at least 15-20 minutes. The IO was very nice and pleasant. Unfortunately, I didn't get the oath letter so I'll have to wait for the letter to arrive in the mail. US Citizenship General Discussion	APRIL 2012 FILERS N-400	I took the extra passport photos to my interview but they were not asked for. I was required to sign my name on the front of the photos I submitted with my application so perhaps the suggestion to bring others is just in case the originally submitted ones were no good. It doesn't hurt to get them done and take them with you. Even if you don't need them for the interview you can use them after your oath to apply for a passport. No money lost. If you submitted a copy of a document (tax return etc) in your N-400 packet then make sure you take the original with you to interview. You probably won't need it, but you'll kick youself if they ask for it and you don't have it. I agree, it's better that I have the photos.	let-it-be	Not Telling	Philippines	2012-08-12 22:18:00
US Citizenship General Discussion	APRIL 2012 FILERS N-400	My letter had 2 pages to it. On page 2 it says document check list. In # 1 part D it says Although not required, it is recommended that you bring two additional passport style photos I had them done at walgreens. My interviews tomorrow. My interview letter had the standard page 2 checklist too. So, I have to get mine done again in Costco. It's a bit cheaper there compared to other places. US Citizenship General Discussion	APRIL 2012 FILERS N-400	So, my interview will be in 2 days and I'm just a nervous wreck. The letter says that I bring the appointment letter, my PI passport, my husband's birth cert to show proof of citizenship and our marriage certificate. I read on a couple of posts about bringing passport photos, tax returns, proof of ownership like mortgage, bills, etc to show that we are living in the same house. Is this necessary? I submitted copies of tax returns, joint bank accounts and copy of our mortgage with my N400 packet. Please advise I'd also like to hear from those who recently had their interviews about whether they brought recent passport photos or not? My main concern is really about the photos. US Citizenship General Discussion	APRIL 2012 FILERS N-400	Wow, I had a messed up dream last night, lol. So I'm in this building that has a multi level covered car park. I have no idea where this is but I know I'm at an immigration office. I'm talking to people as we wait and someone asked me if I have signed in yet. I replied no and they said I'd have to have my letter with me to do it. Somehow I left it out in the car so I go and get it. When I get back there is a gate much like the security at the airports with a big black box at the top that is counting down the seconds before they close, if you get inside before they close your ok. Its counting down 3 -2 - 1 , I start going inside as it shows zero. The immigration guy shakes his finger at me and tells me no, its too late to come in. I tell him I have an interview appointment and wave my letter. He sighs and lets me in. I'm standing at the counter while he goies through my stuff and this preist comes up to me and hands me a bible and tells me to hold it in my left hand and with my right finger make the sign of the corss on the cover. While I'm doing this he startes talking and reciting something and then says congratulations your now an American. Then I woke up, lol I have never had such a messed up dream like that before. BTW my interviews on Monday, think that had anything to do with this dream?! That's one heck of an easy interview in your dream! The priest & bible part is quite funny! US Citizenship General Discussion	APRIL 2012 FILERS N-400	A good thing to do is check out other months before April to see if anyone from your office is there. I found someone in the march list for the Dallas office that waited 2 months for interview after bio prints. Same went for the member in the January list, again 2 months!! =( I checked the January & February filers of Portland Field Office & saw that it does take 2 - 3 months for the interview after Biometrics. First week of July, I had a fortune cookie that says, "Soon, you will receive pleasant news." US Citizenship General Discussion	APRIL 2012 FILERS N-400	Same here, I received and email on Monday referencing our being placed in line for an interview. We had our boimetrics appointment on Thursday 21st. I am guessing maybe a late August interview appointment. Not sure how busy the Raleigh-Durham office is, as for the biometrics appointment my wife was the only one there when we left. The appointment time was 3pm and she realized in the parking lot they forgot to provide her with the pamphlet study guide thingy...when she returned they had already locked the doors. They did open and give her the pamphlet. We are almost there, isn't that awesome? My guess too is around August. Our Portland office does same day oath so I've been praying that my interview will be beyond 7th of July as that is my 3rd yr anniv as a Permanent Resident. US Citizenship General Discussion	APRIL 2012 FILERS N-400	I'm pretty sure they have to take your biometrics for every application, anyone who gets approved without it seems to be by mistake. I had my biometrics taken at the end of July last year and I have an appointment for this week to have it done for N-400. i thought that if it is less than a year it is still valid and that they won't sched another one. Nevertheless, I am ecstatic that I got an update in mine. Yours seems to be progressing real well too. US Citizenship General Discussion	APRIL 2012 FILERS N-400	Got an email yesterday (May 29th) from USCIS that they mailed my biometrics appointment. I'm guessing my schedule will be around the end of June. My last FP was July 25th less than a year ago, that was for my ROC. I think in my local office here in Portland, FP is routine in every applications even if the last FP is still valid. US Citizenship General Discussion	APRIL 2012 FILERS N-400	I wish I could offer good advice but I will be a worried freak if I was in your shoes too. With all the stories of lost items that were sent to USCIS and items coming out of USCIS, I am always on edge every time I send something to USCIS (until there is official confirmation that they received it) and every time they notify me that they are sending me something (until I get my hands on the item in question). I hope you will hear some good news soon. If not, you might have to go to INFOPASS and ask your local IO to check your application on their system as the customer service hotline can not help (they always don't anyway) you with any info. US Citizenship General Discussion	Amended Tax Return and N400	1. Yes, photocopies are fine.  2. Photocopies are fine. Keep the tax transcripts you got from IRS for your own records. 3. Yes, send photocopies of your joint bank statements (random). 4. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Made Typo Error on DS-230	Unfortunately, your wife will have to fill up a new DS-230. I had the same thing happened to my mom's DS-230. It had incomplete information for that question #30. It delayed the processing by a few weeks. But once NVC received the new DS-230, after 8 business days me (petitioner) & my parents (applicants)  received the interview appointment email. The interview date was scheduled a month later. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NVC Case Complete to US Embassy Philippines?	Okay so we sent in the newly corrected DS-230. Of course it has been delivered by USPS EXPRESS MAIL. It's been sitting at NVC for 10 days. I call very day and they apparently have not opened the envelope yet.  This was all they needed due to a typo. Any idea once they open the envelope before they say case complete? Then how far out is US Embassy appointment in Manila?  I am waiting and it just takes so long.   NVC received my mom's corrected DS-230 on Feb 23rd & I received  the interview email on March 6th. That is 8 business days. I don't know for certain when was the exact date of case complete was, because I know that once a mail is delivered to NVC it actually stays in their mail room until someone gets it & enters it in the system. My parents interview schedule was for April 4th. Due to unforeseen circumstances I had to cancel that appointment. I rescheduled it to May 2nd.    According to USEM site: http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3238.html   All case processing for Manila, including appointment scheduling for immigrant visa cases, is generally done at the National Visa Center (NVC) in the U.S. An applicant?s case number does not determine his or her position in the scheduling queue. Once a case is current (i.e., priority date is current for processing), and is ?documentarily qualified?(i.e., all the necessary, completed documents are received at the NVC) , the waiting time for an appointment date is approximately one (1) to three (3) months.   As soon as an appointment date becomes available, NVC will forward the case to Embassy Manila.
