Geeze, I can't even go into the January Filer's thread anymoe, it's so depressing. VSC approved a January filer (who actually is a real sweetheart) the other day, and now the posters, who all seem to be at the VSC, are all a twitter about touches and imminent approvals.

That, plus slipping two days on my projected adjudication date, 6 inches of slow last night, and a foul commute this morning, could have put me in a bad mood. But aha, not this time. When I see the good people who have had to put up with so much to be with the ones they love, I remember what special people they are, and we all are. That's enough to chase the blues away - at least until the next snow storm. Congratulations to those approved - and congratulations to all those that have waited so patiently for so long.

That was totally cool that they got approved less than a month from the date they filed!

they wouldn't even reconsider if it was the first application? I feel sad my fiancé will get mad at me if I tell him about this..can I call and ask them about it?we actually try to get hold of the mail the next day when I found out we did it wrong but sadly the people at the post office didn't helped us..thank you for help guys..

No, they won't reconsider at all. It will be unfair if your fiance will blame it all on you. As the petitioner, he should have taken the time to read everything about the I-129F from the USCIS.Gov site.

Even if you haven't known about VJ site, still the I-129F Instructions was in the USCIS site. But, what's done is done.

They are not going to send RFE for all the supporting documents. That's almost like the whole package.

There was a recent post like yours & the petition was denied. It wasn't until many months later ( I believe it was 7 months) that the denial letter was sent to the petitioner. The check was cashed too.

Confused About Where NVC is??????

I received my I 797 yesterday. Now I need a letter from NVC with a MNL number on it. I just talked to a friend on the phone who has already got his bride here from the Philippines!!! He told me that ""MY"" NVC letter will come from the consulate in Manila, and the I 797 does say, "your petition has been approved and forwarded to the appropriate consulate" and the NVC for me is in the consulate at Manila and my beneficiary will also get a copy with the MNL number on it probably before I get a hard copy.,.,YOUR thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated, and any opinions on how long it takes to get this MNL number???

NVC is not in the US embassy in Manila. It is in Portsmouth, NH.

If I am understanding correctly, you are the Alien Relative and your husband is the US citizen petitioning for you. Then you write your address the way you do in your home country. If your address is normally written in Arabic letters, that's how you put it.

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

Embassy i-130????

I am active duty marrying my fiance in Sydney Australia in dec. I am stationed state side. I called the MPF today to get info about what they need to get her an ID an into DEERS after we are married. The girl told me to go to the US embassy there after we are married and they could put us in DEERS there. This got me thinking. I heard that if you start the process for immigrant visa at the consulate that it is alot faster. Can someone explain this process to me a little bit? Is it even feasible for us to do this considering I have to leave about 8 days after we are married to come back to the US and she has to stay there? Thank you for your time in this matter.

Direct Consulate Filing is allowed if the sponsor is residing in the foreign country. This is not possible in your case since you are not residing in Australia & will be coming back to the states after the wedding. Just file the spousal visa here in the states as soon as you can.

Tax Transcript issue

Has anyone else ever had this issue? I've requested my tax transcripts both through the IRS website and using that 1-800 number that they provide, and in neither instance have I received anything (waiting 2+ months at this point). I moved in late April, so my current address is different from the one listed on my last tax return, but I updated my address with USPS and the IRS accepted my new address when I requested the transcripts. I'm concerned that they might have sent them to my last address anyway and my personal information is just floating around out there. Has anyone else ever dealt with this issue? Is there any way to actually talk to a human being over at the IRS? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I've heard of others just going to their local IRS office & getting the transcripts right there & then. You can then asked them if they have sent out (or not) the transcripts to your old address. If the local IRS office is near you.

No body here waits until the petition is approved and then starts working on gathering the documents for NVC. Not if you're interested in getting through this process sometime in 2013. I'm working on the AOS packet and IV packet (DS-230) right now and I just sent in the I-130. If you have all the paperwork ready you'll be able to fly through NVC and it won't take you 3+ months to get a case complete. The only thing to make sure of is the police certificate as some of those have an expiration date. You don't want to request one too early and then not be able to use it when you need it.

You are right. One has to gather all the documents ahead of time. The OP (Jughead) will be able to get those civil documents from his bride while he is there in her home country.

Thanks for attaching the flowchart. So to be clear, me (the petitioner) will have to send in her original birth certificate and police certificates to the NVC? I thought that the beneficiary took care of that.

NVC will require you to send DS-230 package, that package will include documents that your wife will send to you. You (as the agent) will be the one to forward the completed DS-230 package(documents).

Yes, getting married in two weeks so it will be an I-130 for my soon to be wife. Good to know I can send in a photocopy of my birth certificate. Makes it easier than having to obtain another original.

Yes, you will send it in NVC stage. Civil documents like original birth certificate, police clearance, two (2) 2x2 pictures etc...

Oh, I just realized that you are going to get married in 2 weeks.

You can send a photocopy of your birth certificate when you send your I-130 petition. Your spouse's (beneficiary) original birth certificate will be needed during NVC stage.

Are you filing for spouse or fiancee?

If you are filing petition for your fiancee, then you need to file Form I-129F.

Thanks for the response and i did not know this website existed when i filed before; a lot of helpful information here.
Problem is; i did not sign up for e-mail notifications and did not create a portfolio.
Since it was my stupidity can i call the USCIS and see if they have any information? I doubt that they will give it to me but I can certainly try.

Go ahead try calling them. They usually ask basic information like birth dates, addresses, phone numbers etc. of both the petitioner & beneficiary. Posted Image
