IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresComfort Needed - NVC
I'm one of the filers that NVC messed everything up for. I feel like I am NEVER going to get an interview too. Emailed my supporting docs on 2/25 and they still have not reviewed them. It doesn't matter that it's been over 20 days, even my senators office wasn't able to get anywhere with them. I'm going on 10 months here.

Good luck, I hope NVC gets their act together!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCSC to TSC to NVC: the Saga continues
Finally after 3 months at Nvc after they lost my emails, SIF!

But, is it weird that the NVC email response that said my case was completed had a completely different case number in the subject l line?

It wouldn't surprise me that they mixed up my case with someone else's...

Here's the most recent example, and yes, I can't even begin to describe their idiotness.

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your correspondence.

As this case is processing electronically, all forms and documents must be sent via email as scanned attachments to NVCElectronic@state.gov . Sending physical documents to the NVC will delay the processing of your case.

We received electronic documentation for this case. The documentation will be reviewed and uploaded to your electronic case file.

If a period of one year passes from the last date of contact with the NVC (by email, telephone or mail), all submitted fees and documents will expire. In that case, your fees will need to be repaid and documents will need to be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process.

Good morning!!! Congrats HLM!!! I'm so happy for you!!

Yahhh on our new president! My crazy azz neighbor was out there last night shooting fireworks off yelling "Thats what I'm talking about"!!!! My poor Tinkerbelle freaked out cause of the fireworks. She shook for an hour after.

lmao...My husband told me to get out there and make a fool of myself too..I was jumping up and down yelling and screaming when he won....
I was teary eyed too. When they showed the ecstatic people out there! What history for the county. It's true, whether you voted for McCain or Obama, it's hard not to be moved.

I believe she was commenting on his life growing up...single mom and all that.

I agree. I actually think it's very admirable that he was able to grow up in a single parent home and later become a great success and make millions and still think back on where he came from and want to effect some change and help the vast majority of americans.

Well since Obama didn't start this war to begin with, the outcome is not his fault. As President, he is going to have to listen to the ppl (and the house/congress), and if that majority says to withdraw, that's what will be done. I understand the fear, too bad the people couldn't make a difference to begin with

Totally agreed. good.gif If our new president can unite the world again, and we can start TALKING to countries, instead of talking war right away. Diplomacy, IMO, is what we need desperately.

sorry...meant to actually reply to this thread whistling.gif i would hope that anyone married to an arab (especially in Iraq), would want a president that actually wants to withdraw sooner than 100 yrs from now, and unite this world, rather than keep us divided, actually start talking and discussing our differences rather than start wars...sorry, JMHO..didn't mean to stir up things. can't understand how anyone that's married to an arab would want to continue these policies.. wacko.gif

I find that comment extremely offensive since you can't simply ask my opinion and reasons and instead you just form your own opinions and assumptions. Intolerance of ideas really bothers me as it is obvious you were trying to insult me.

Why do you think I was trying to insult you? If you have listened to Obama's speeches, you would know that he has NEVER advocated pulling our troops out of Iraq immediately. And if you read my post, you would see that I wrote it's my opinion. That's what this is about... being able to state your opinions. OBviously, I'm not the only one with these opinions, as the majority voted and does want CHANGE in this country. Now I will ask you, are you happy with your last president of 8 yrs and his policies? Your choice that you voted for, was happy with him, as he voted 90% of the time with him. And alot of Americans, like me, want some of those billions spent on an unnecessary war, actually spent building up our country. Once again, this is my opinion, you stated yours and I would like to state mine. No insulting here...sorry if you took it that way.

Honestly, Kat gets upset when Martiniolive's husband came onto the forum, but yet it's kind of like going behind your husband's back when you air out your dirty laundry and don't give them a chance to defend themselves. If her husband did that to her, she'd be blaming all arab men for it wacko.gif

Yes, we should support Martiniolive. But is that helping her by reassuring her he isn't using her? Do you even know if he is or not? How about just opening her eyes to the possibilities that maybe she didn't think of (or why would she be posting in various forums about it?) We shouldn't just cheer each other on and forget that a huge amount of people DO get used.

Hanginginthere has been hurt, yes. But it doesn't mean she says those things just because she has been hurt by her husband. She is trying to help in her own way. We all have different personalities. Hanginginthere has experienced a lot, spoken to a lot of people, traveled a lot in MENA, and I think she has a lot of valid things to say. good.gif

Look, only martiniolive knows what goes on in her relationship. We can all psychoanalyze it to death but do any of us really know how he said those things and what he meant by them? And if he loves her or if he's using her? Nope.

I think we should all point out possibilities and then tell her to trust her instincts .

I wasn't reassuring her and telling her he wasn't using her. I just don't think it's right to tell someone to get a divorce right away when she doesn't know the full story either. I wasn't psychoanalyzing her relationship. And wasn't trying to insinuate that just because i advised to support her, that we should all assume their relationship is valid. Support to me means not jumping to conclusions though. Give the person advice ...sure, but like you said ONLY when you know really what's going on . I think Martiniolive's original question though was not asking for advice about if she should divorce him or not. She merely wanted to know if Morroco was a safe place to live. All in all though, it's hard to give advice though when we don't know the full story. It wasn't me who was giving quick advice though without knowing all the details.

I think just because Hanginginthere is upset that she was maybe used for a greencard doesn't mean she should then try to invoke fear in MartiniOlive and her husband's lives and let them live and love each other and figure this out. But dont try to assume that he is using her just because he doesn't want her there.

thats what she does.
I honestly wonder how much more harm than good is done on these boards when people come with a problem.

ok, its late and I need to just keep my mouth shut on this one.

Martino,
Its sounds like you guys have/are sorted things out and fixed the misunderstandings.
My prayers are with both of you guys.

Lisa

I know she's been through a hard time, I understand that. But I also know that misery loves company. Honestly, I would'nt be advising divorce so fast either unless I knew the WHOLE situation.
Believe me, been there done that...been used for a greencard myself. But when I found out I kicked his *&* out immediately. I didn't keep him in my house to continue to wreak emotional or possibly physical harm on me or my children. And I would hope after all of HanginginThere's advice to Martiniolive, that she is practicing what she preaches and has kicked her husband out. Her husband, in my opinion only, has done way more harm that Martiniolive's, to her AND her children.
I agree with you that sometimes more harm is done on these boards. ALot of people will be judgmental. Human nature. If some people are having problems, they're going to find comfort, so to speak, in others'.
I wish you a great life Hangininthere. I think it's best that we take what Martiniolive said in her last post to heart. She is a grown woman and intelligent. When she says they love each other, I respect that and then wish her the best and support her in the future.

Sometimes it's best to lay down and play dead.
(This is the first time I've read anything by this poster with which I disagree.)

To the agents (through the closed door): "Gentlemen, thank you for your interest. Do you have a search warrant? No? Then please procure one, and you'll be welcome to come in. Otherwise, please set an appointment to talk with us, just as my husband/wife and I have been required to do every step of the way since the beginning of our legal-immigration process. That's only fair, as I'm sure you agree. Please slip your business card above the door-handle. Thanks again, and good day!"

I understand that alot of people think I should've made them hand over a search warrant, but there were a couple things standing in the way....first, i had just worked 3 12 hr shifts in a row and was kind of out of it, AND second, sometimes my husband does forget his house key (he's a ditz i know). And third, we don't have anything to hide, I would've been willing for them to take DNA off our bed to show these guys that we're together and honest! We've been waiting quite a while with NO NEWS so I was actually happy after they left. They looked satisfied, they were very polite and friendly, and stayed maybe total 4 mins at the most.
My personal opinion is, they let my fiance, (now husband), into the country fairly quickly, and I understood that they might have questions about the validity of our relationship given that I've gone through this process before. It was totally ok with me, I would want it to happen like this in every case similar to mine...sorry to say, I might make some people upset, I'm all about the security of the country, not just my happiness...

Well the good news is that you're OK with the visit... I can't for the life of me figure out how the country is more secure because anyone checks a clothes hamper, a dishwasher, or takes sheets away for DNA testing... (unless they find Osama Bin Laden's DNA on the sheets...) But if you think that it's about keeping the "Homeland Secure" then they are lucky they came to visit you...

Across the river in Portland after 9/11 there were alot of "visits" to Arab/Muslim households and because one home had a calendar on the wall with a circle around the 11th of September they hauled the poor husband away and kept him locked up for quite some time until the family Dentist could verify he had an appointment for an exam and cleaning on the 11th... The agents simply seeing a calendar in an Arab/Muslim home with 9/11 circled was enough to lock up the poor guy...

I just don't how these tactics improve our security... However I am all for prosecuting fraud simply because it is fraud... My guess is they thought they might be able to haul you in and ship him home... if they could prove you were doing this as a sort of "side line" of work... ($$ for Green Cards..)

Glad it worked out for you... ... I'm a frequent flier with those folks... (you're on #2 and I'm on #3 and have NEVER experienced anything like that)... hope they stay on your side of the river.. smile.gif

I do believe that after 9/11 they did state that some of the terrorists that attacked the country that day WERE here on K1 visas that they had procurred from unsuspecting women. SO, yes I am all for these checks.. if anyone disagrees that's their choice...

No. He wasn't at home. They did ask where he was, I told em he works graveyard shift and wouldn't be home for another 30 mins or so. They seemed fine with it, and continued their investigation.
