Any VSC fillers still waiting from July?

Ha! We are all waiting...

This is SO lame! I heard in the August forum that someone at TSC got their approval. I guess this is good but also kind of lame since we filed a month earlier but whatever.

I think that once I get my approval it will only come in the mail. I haven't had any emails or touches this entire time.

Hoping for some approval today because we know none are coming next week because of the holidays!

Ya, it is from August. But still, they have less than 50 application to process and it takes them 5 months. Now, so many case are transferred to TSC, I wonder how long it will take them. I hope they hire people to process our application faster.

Theoretically it should be ok. Apparently "5 months" is the processing time they have to put in, even if it's less than 5 months, they have to input "5 months", BUT if it's over 5 months, they have to change it.

Though one would assume some of us would have heard something by now because for most that were transferred that was around 2 weeks ago. If CSC can do 150,000 applications in 5 months, TSC should be able to do a couple hundred in no time at all. I wondering how many applications they actually got.

I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I am anxiously waiting for approval too. I hope we get approval within this week. Next week is thanksgiving and people will start taking vactation at work and the approval will be slow. I checked on TSC timeline. They have just 44 pending appliation and the average time there is over 5 months. Now many of us are transferred to TSC. No one know what future is for us. God, this is frustrating. I wish we had had our application on vermont instead of CSC. By today, our interview has been fixed. God bless us all.

I'm pretty sure that info is from August...

Oh, that's not very long at all! I was going to tell my hubby to get his too, but since it only takes a day to get, we might as well wait.

Any news today from TSC filers? NOA2's?

Wondering, is there any point to me calling USCIS right now and inquiring about the status of my application? Because I'm assuming they won't have any more info then what is on the USCIS site. Let me know if any of you have done this yet and if it's worth my time.

Thanks!

According to your timeline, I dont see how in a week it will be 5 months for you.....I filed before you and it wont be 5 months for over two weeks from now. I understand your frustration though.

Apeters,

I was counting from when my application was received at the Lockbox, that's why I was posing the question as to when I am supposed to start my countdown. If it was from when Chicago received my petition, I would be going on 20 weeks, thus equating 5 months.

BUT since I am counting down from my NOA1 date, it will be more like an additional 2-3 weeks to make it 5 months.

So no TSC approvals today? Man this sucks!

I have a question. When you're counting how many days you've waited so far, do you count from the date on your NOA1, or from when USCIS received your package? I'm just preparing myself for when I can complain to USCIS about my over 5-month wait time.

If I count from when USCIS received it, in a week it will be 5 months. So sad. And I no everyone says that touches/no touches don't necessarily mean anything but I haven't been touched since 7/26! Not even for my TSC transfer! I didn't get an email nor text even though I am subscribed. :bonk:

Has anyone looked at the "National Processing Volumes" on the USCIS website recently? It's crazy, if you look at CSC the volumes are in the 120,000's and then if you look at TSC there are 44. This data is from August, but I wonder if I am reading it incorrectly. If that is still the trend, it seems like we should be approved in no time!

Hi Loto,
He's in Canada waiting. Haha, not AOS here. I think I was on auto-pilot when I read my case update on the USCIS page because it says to wait for a biometrics appointment, but ONLY for specific filers, which I'm not a part of. Oh well, I guess onto collecting more evidence of a bona fide marriage. Phew, I hate the waiting game :hehe:

Greetings July filers! I kept checking for a July thread and here it is.

I think/know I will be on here a lot in the future. This whole process scares me, especially reading some of the horror stories of people waiting years for their petitions to be approved.

I sent my CR1 on 7/7 and received my NOA1 via email on 7/19. I think that's pretty good...but my petition also went to CSC, so maybe that's not so good.

Anyhow good luck everyone, I'm sure we'll all get to know each other very well over the next 7 months.. :D
TSC BlackholeFemaleCanada2010-08-13 21:38:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow long is the process
Honestly sometimes people luck out, other times they do not. I was part of 36,000 june/july applications that were transferred to "speed up processing." But for most of us that meant 7+ months before our petitions were approved and sent to NVC. My petition was just approved yesterday after nearly 7 months. I know that once I graduate to NVC it will be another 3+ months.

But there have also been many lucky groups who's entire process took less than 6 months. Maybe you will be one of the lucky ones :)

I think the entire system is a little messed up! I finally got my NOA2(after 212 days) on the 14th, hard copy on the 18th and I just called NVC's automated number and my NVC# was generated on the 18th...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat are the odds they will not notice?
QUOTE (Danno @ Sep 21 2007, 11:31 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I filed for K-1 may 18 and I am still waiting on NOA 2, after all this time of not hearing anything, I happened to notice (when looking at a copy) that I did not fill in the "place of birth" for my fiance's father on the documents I sent in. The city has changed names over the years and I meant to determine which name to use and somehow never filled it in. (he is deceased for some time now)

What are the odds they will let this slide?

Should I contact them now with this info as it might save time in the long run?

If so, how to contact them, via phone?

I am a May filer (5/2/07) and had a similar issue. I omitted some information on my petition. I asked my attorney the same questions you are asking now. He said, "Let it slide. Contacting them now will only trigger an RFE." He was right. Seven days later we had our NOA2.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresApplying for K-1 Visa While On An F-1 Visa

I'm currently on an F-1 student visa to the United States, going to university down here. I'm just wondering if this would cause any problems if my fiancee files a K-1 visa application on my behalf...

1. While I'm already on an F-1 visa
2. While I'm already in the United States

I'm hoping to graduate in December, and my visa will expire and I will most likely be going back to Canada after that, but will it cause any problems if my fiancee files the application now, before my visa expires and before I leave the country?

I've often had several visas @ once, and had an active O2 when I applied for my K1. My lawyer did tell me that it wasn't a probelm.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresScanned Images vs. Photocopies
I made high quality color scans of everything and saved them all as PDFs. Even uploaded them to a secure web site. My lawyer thought this was great, as she could access and print anything she needed/ whenever. Why should I waste my paper and ink - I paid her enough already.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresVisiting During I-129F Process
Yes you can visit the US while your 129F is being processed.
I did 4 times at least (Toronto-San Diego) and for extended periods. I was never questioned when I stated the purpose of my visit was to see my fiancee.

It is a good idea to have documents that show ties to your country of citizenship - letter from employer, house deed etc ... to show you will return home. Though I never bothered.

You eventually get interviewed and cross on the K1 visa. Then you won't be going anywhere outside the US for a while.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNew Here I-129F Question
I supplied 1 line.
"Met at linkin Park Show in San Diego. Allyson was working as local set up crew and Tim was working on the touring crew."

Additional supporting evidence was also supplied, a few examples:
Her pay stub from the day.
My tour shedule.
A notarised afidavit by petitioner summerizing our relationship thus far - in point form.
All the other ####### - photos, email, palne tickets, passport stamps, credit card receipts.

I left little doubt that we had met.
Still got an RFE - (requesting a copy of a passport stamp that I had already given them. UGHHH!)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresfiancé visiting me during the K1 visa application being processed?
thanks so much for your replies, everyone, i really appreciate your help. my fiance is unemployed and is not in school, he also lives with his mother at the time so he doesn't really have any proof that he would be coming back except for his cats and his stuff that he wouldn't be taking with him to visit me. are there any other ways to prove that he would be returning to canada? i would be able to support him if he was to visit me for several months until it was time to go back to canada for the K1, if it would be possible for him to stay that long, and would provide proof for that but i'm not sure how else he could prove he's returning to canada except for a return plane ticket. would it be less likely that they would let him through to visit me as a fiance with a K1 in process and more likely to let him visit as a fiance without a K1 in process yet? Could he come to visit me before starting the K1 application process and then while he's visiting we get the K1 started from there (which may also be good because then we could use his boarding passes and itinerary from him visiting me for proof of having met in the past two years as well as my having been in canada before and proof of that)? Would that create a problem for the K1 being processed or approved at all if he was with me in the states when we sent in the application and also while it was being processed, then him going back to canada at probably about the 5th month that he'd be there? I read that processing times for the center we'd be using is about 6 months now, so if he left at the 5th month he'd most likely be there earlier than when the K1 would be approved.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresfiancé visiting me during the K1 visa application being processed?
Hello,

How likely will it be that my fiance would be able to visit me in the United States while the K1 application is being processed, has it worked for anyone? I would also like to know about how it would work if he was able to visit me during the K1 application being processed considering he would need to get back to Canada in time for the K1 visa (medical exam and interview I believe it is, right?) when it is approved. I read that to be able to visit me he should bring a ticket to return to Canada later (we're not sure when that should be either considering the K1's processing times can vary, we just know that the longest amount of time he could be with me there as a visitor is 6 months) when he is coming to the states to visit me, is this something that should definitely be done and how would we pick a return ticket date? What other things should be done to make his visit possible? Is it likely that he will be able to visit me, for 6 months or under, during the time that the K1 visa is being processed?

Should he get his passport now regardless of when he will be visiting me during the K1 being processed even though we aren't sure when that will be yet? Thank you so much for your time!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCertified Documents
Thanks, this was very helpful.

I read a lot of those guides but some of them I missed.

I would like to know if I should just go ahead and include all of her certified copies to the uscis for the I-129f, just to avoid any delays.
I hear some saying they don't need her Birth Certificate but since she changed her name I should probably include in right, as well as, the certified translations?

The thing I am mostly worried about is that her name change twice.

Thanks,

Austin
