he didn't just take a couple either. he had a huge mound on his plate.. He said that he didn't think I would mind, which normally I wouldn't but hey you don't mess with a pregnant woman's food

He knows not to drink my root beer though..lol

I love that she is so active but it can get really uncomfortable sometimes. Like now she is kicking me down below. not very pleasant especially with the cerclage...

ugh, I feel icky today. I went out for a bit but had to come home because I wasn't feeling good. I feel a little better now that I am lying in bed... I think I was experiencing some braxton-hicks or it was side effects from the progesterone shots...

part of me gets a little paranoid when I start to feel like this because of what happened with my last two pregnancies..

I looked more closely at our plan and it says the pump is covered if my doctor orders it. So I am wondering if I can just get my doctor to order it or does there have to be a special reason?

at my appointment on Monday the doctor was listening to the heartbeat and you could hear Emily moving around. The doctor said, wow, you got an active one in there" ..

She has been super active since the beginning. they always have a hard time finding her heartbeat and trying to get a good ultrasound image..

Interesting, my doc still does the one hour and then if need be the 3h one.

I am almost 20 weeks, but i have not felt a thing from the baby yet. at least i don't think i have. Kinda worried about that although i did read it could just be the position the baby is in. I guess i'll find out on Monday at our big appointment.

you might not feel anything yet if it is your first pregnancy.. This is my third pregnancy, I never felt anything with the first two. With this one at first it felt like little bubbles popping or some people say it feels kind of like butterflies.. also some babies just are not as active as others..

the new glucose test is fairly recent..

"In 2011, the American Diabetes Association adopted guidelines that recommend changes in the way women are tested for gestational diabetes. Instead of the GCT described above, a 2-hour OGTT, using a 75-gram glucose drink, is performed. If one or more of her glucose levels at fasting, 1 hour, or 2 hours are above a certain level, then she is diagnosed as having gestational diabetes."

I guess they changed the test. It used to be you would go for a 1 hour glucose screening test and if you failed that you went for a 3 hour glucose tolerance test. Now they just do a 2 hour glucose tolerance test.

I am lucky in the fact that I know we will get most of our big tickets items from our family..

Also my SIL is panning on inviting everyone she knows to the shower. I have a feeling we are going to end up with a lot of stuff.. which will be interesting because we only have a one bedroom place.. luckily we have a fair sized walk-in closet..

I am just trying to convince her that I don't want a matching crib set. I am not a matchey/matchey person.. As long as the colours are similar I am fine (I am going for sage, rose and chocolate brown)... I would rather that money be spent on something we really need..

as for baby clothes.. thrift stores are a good place to shop for those too. they are usually in good shape because they have only been worn a few times..

I am getting so frustrated with my doctor's office. I need a refill for my progesterone. i didn't want them to use the same pharmacy because it was out of network. I also wanted to get it before the end of the month because our new insurance year starts in June and right now my out of pocket maximum is met so I am hoping the insurance will cover all of it.

So I researched and found a couple of pharmacies. The first one didn't work out because the fax wouldn't go through. The second didn't do the injectables. So I had to call a couple and I finally found one and it was on my doctor's office's computer so they could send the prescription electronically. they were supposed to send it yesterday. So all day today I was waiting for the pharmacy to call and ask for my info but I got no call. So I finally called the pharmacy and they said they didn't receive an order. GRRRR. But the lady did offer to call my doctor which I thought was nice. So now I am waiting again.

It bugged me that I had to do all the calling around. The office doesn't seem to concerned if something is covered by a patients insurance.. grrr

I have never been a major chocoholic but lately I have been craving chocolate. mmm, coconut M&M's

I am starting to gain weight now so I am trying to watch what I eat but it is hard with these silly cravings like chocolate and cheese puffs

for hamburgers I just like a little mayo, ketchup, grilled onions, lettuce and tomato. for hot dogs, I usually just do ketchup, unless there is some of my mom's homemade corn relish around. I do sometimes add grilled onions and peppers to my hotdogs though.

I dunk my grilled cheese in ketchup, I got that from my UK friend too. I never did that when I was a kid.

oh and I have to mix the ketchup into the mac and cheese.

on rare occasions I will fry up some ground beef or chicken and add that with a can of diced tomatoes to a box of prepared mac and cheese. throw a little cheese on top and bake in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes. yum!
