K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Vermont K1 Visa -Processing times	Hi all!! I just did a little research on the USCIS website regarding volume and trends of the CSC vs. the VSC and here is what I have found (based on their latest chart data date of Aug. 12, 2012). Here is what I have found: 1) On April 12 CSC had 11,800 pending I-129f petitions pending; on August 12 they had 7,800 2) From April 12 - Aug 12 CSC has received 9,800 new I-129f petitions 3) From April 12 - Aug 12 CSC has completed 12,700 petitions (reducing their backlog by roughly 3,000 - 4,000 petitions depending on how they were adjudicated) 4) On April 12 VSC had 14,400 pending I-129f petition; on Aug 12 they had 18,900 5) From April 12 - Aug 12 VC received 10,200 new petitions 6) From April 12 - Aug 12 VSC has completed 6,900 I-129f petitions Now, I have no idea about the staffing at each center and I also have read that VSC processes certain types of visas that no other center or field office processes so maybe these are factors that effect the volume at which they process I-129f petitions. But it's pretty obvious that during this time period VSC is either concentrating on other visa process, they are severely understaffed for their workload, etc. Maybe a combination of a lot of things. As an October filer, I know I have a wait ahead of me and I see that CSC timelines for NOA2 have gone up a bit at CSC and have fallen a bit at VSC over the past two weeks. Hopefully, this indicates that they are balancing the load of the I-129f petitions so that everyone has a shot at a 5 month timeframe or less, very shortly. Even though I want my SO with me as soon as possible I realize that there are a lot of couples ahead of us and I wish us all a lot of luck in our approvals. Just thought I would share what I have found (at least through Aug. 12). Has anyone talked to their representative to try and get the 'real story' of what is going on at VSC? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	K-2 Visa Question	Thanks Enigma! Kitkat - I read it on the USCIS website under K-1 info (FAQs). The question was "does my USC fiance have to file separate petitions for my children?" There is an IMPORTANT NOTE that says "stepparent/stepchild relationship....etc." This seems to deal with Adjustment of Status. Also, there is a hyperlink at "child" that sends you to the USCIS definition of child. Again, it says unmarried/under 21 and below the 18yo requirement again. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	K-2 Visa Question	I am looking to get some clarification on eligibility for a K-2 Visa. My fiancee's son is currently 17 years old and we have him listed in the I-129F to come on a K-2 visa. The USCIS website states that a person is eligible to accompany the K-1 fiancee on a K-2 if a)they are under 21 years of age, and 2) unmarried which he meets both criteria. However, I have also read on the website that a stepparent/stepchild relationship must be established before their 18th birthday (I interpret this to mean that my fiancee and I must be married before he turns 18). I am looking for some reconciliation between these two statements as his 18th birthday may occur before my fiancee and I will be able to marry (at least following our current timeline estimates). K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Forms DS-230 and DS-156 questions	My fiancee is in the process of completing her forms.  She had a couple of questions and I am not sure of the answer.  Hopefully, someone can assist us.   Form DS-230 Questions #14-18.  Questions about spouse.  She is divorced and we are not married yet so not sure how to complete that section of questions.  Is this a None or N/A answer or does it pertain to her former spouse?   Form DS-156 Questions #18-19.  Again, questions about spouse.  However, it says "even if divorced or separate".  Same questions as above.   We're probably both 'overthinking' the question but any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!   Thanks! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Tax transcripts for I-124	If I have a letter from my employer stating my position (for 10 years), copies of last 6 months direct deposit receipts that show I make well above the required levels, do I really need to send tax transcripts as well or is that really only for self employed persons?  I thought about including my last 401(k) statement but not really sure if that is even necessary.   Thanks! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	October 2012 K1 filers	Congrats to all the additional people who have been approved lately!!! We got our noa2 approval April 29. Does anyone know roughly how long to expect for it to go to NVC, be processed further and then onto our local US consulate?   We received our NOA2 on April 11.  I called NVC on April 24 and they said they did not have our file from USCIS so they could not give me our case number.  They also said it usually takes 14-20 days to receive and give a case number.  The Packet 3 email from our local embassy in Chisinau came very early on April 30.  I called NVC the same day and got our case number.  This all sounds pretty typical for a timeline from what I have seen on others NOA2-NVC-Packet 3 email.   Good luck! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	October 2012 K1 filers	I was wondering what my actual emotions would be when (and if) this day came before my VJ timeline suggested. I am very happy, to say the least, but I am also a little torn because of the stress that it could cause others who filed before me. I'm from Texas and have been taught to 'not look a gift horse in the mouth', and I won't. But I also feel a little out of sorts because I know that there are others (VSC filers and especially CSC filers) that have filed before me. It's a little bittersweet, I guess. I have always wished all of us the best of luck in our journey and I will continue to persue this with my congressman to try and enlighten him about the plight of the I-129f and I-130 filers who wait so long to be with their loved ones. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	October 2012 K1 filers	I doubt that there is strict rule on which petition is taken first,because acording to Igor's list we should be approved till now because there is alot approvals now after our date and we sill didnt hear anything from VSC even after we made a service request 2 weeks ago,our case is not even "touched" since December 2012 .... I'm really happy for the couples that are approved,because I know how painfull is to be separeted from the one you love and I wish all of us to have our approvals soon :-) !!! It's really strange how these 'out of order' applications get pulled. I have seen some for VSC but yesterday at CSC it looks like they approved a lot of later filers. From VJ it appears that VSC has been spending the last few days clearing out older applications that had RFEs which is very good for those folks. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	October 2012 K1 filers	aaah i got it .... i did almost the same thing yesterday,i go back 40 numbers before ours and all where from the same date as our alien reg.# but i stoped when i saw few approved ones...and it was like there is 8 more unaproved I-129F before our number... K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	October 2012 K1 filers	where in the USCIS site you can see that RFE is issued and for wich dates? I really hope that its October fillers time :-) I found the info by entering EAC numbers lower than mine until I found I-129f filers. It will show the same information as if you were looking at your own EAC (or WAC number for CSC filers). Sometimes it will show the actual NOA1 date, sometimes it will show "your Alien registration number was changed on so and so date". Looks to be that that ones showing a "change in Alien registration number" have a date of about 6-7 days after the actual NOA1 date (compared to other filers in the same block that show the actual NOA1 date). I saw 3 EAC numbers in a block of filers that show "on Oct. 16 your alien registration number was changed" that indicate an RFE was issued on Apr. 3 and Apr. 4. So, it looks like someone at VSC has a box with some Oct. 9-10 files in it. This is all speculative of course but since there have been some Oct. VJ filers have been adjudicated (some after my NOA1 date) and there are some very recent RFEs for October filers - not on VJ - then they are definitely moving into the October files. Hopefully that'll be sorted out soon though and then the October filers will be rolling in! It does look like VSC is getting through some older files the last couple of days (for VJ members,anyway), so that's very good for those folks that have been waiting longer. But, I looked at USCIS website this morning and RFEs have been issued on 3 petitions on Wed and Thur for apps that look like they are from the Oct. 9 - 10 NOA range, so they do have October files in hand! It is now the middle of November and we are on our way to that wonderful day when the K1 visa is issued. I have a question about the USCIS web site. I have gone to the web site each day and entered my NOA1 case number to check my currnet case status. I keep getting a message that says my case can not be found at this time. I have read a few posts that I should not worry as the case status is not updated very well. Has any other October filer had this same issue? Oh and by the way my file is in Vermont. As a new member here I can say that a lot of folks here have been very helpful and I'm thankful to them and to the VJ community as a whole. For ones, like yourself, who have been here through your entire process (as painful as it seems to have been at times) is very encouraging and very much appreciated by those of us who have yet to get to your stage. I have seen some of the 'lurkers' waiting for the opportunity to tongue lash anyone who asks a question that has been asked before, misspeaks, or just has been given wrong info. It can be frustrating (actually more than that) but I tend to ignore it (as I imagine them sitting at their computer 24/7 waiting for the opportunity to 'blast' someone). Haha!!!!!! Philippines	Manila St. Luke's Medical Exam	Hello. My husband is planning to go to St Luke's next week for his Medical Exam. Interview is scheduled March 19. I keep seeing here that it takes a "full 2 days" to complete the process. Is it possible for him to go early in the morning, leave after lunch (even if process is not done), and then return the next day to continue the process. He could even return a third day if necessary. Work schedule makes it difficult for him to plan a FULL day at St. Lukes... anybody out there in VJ land know about this? Thanks so much. Philippines	St Lukes Medical Question	Hi, I'm not an expert or anything. My husband is planning to have his medical done at St Luke's in a couple of weeks. The only thing that comes to my mind is the online registration form I filled out for my husband. Did your wife register online before she went to St. Luke's? On the form it asks for a "Visa Preference Category". It's marked as a required field. It's asking for what type of visa you are applying for. My husband is applying for the IR-1 (Spouse of a US Citizen). I assume you would need to put CR-1 (Spouse of a US Citizen under two years of marriage). You can go to www.slec.ph to find the form...
