Hi everyone....Just wanna share OUR "roller coaster Packet 3-ride" to you guys...
Hmnn....we got the mail last 24th of January from NVC telling us that our papers was forwarded to the consulate already....SO happy with that! But there's almost like 4-days Karneval holidays after that so we waited,. Then Packet mail was still nowhere...: huh.gif Called up the embassy 12th of Feb, and was told our packet 3 was sent to my way THAT day...again SO happy and getting more excited! so still waited another week and nothing showed up! Then called almost everyday this week to check, and cant get hold of somebody to talk to...so decided to send them a mail and an email...checking where my packet 3 is for 2 weeks now?????...and they replied via email that it was returned to them because of WRONG address.... mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif BUT why can it be wrong??? or if so...why i wasn't informed??? since they all have the details, phone numbers, home and email addresses???...if we had not checked and kept on following them up...until now we were waiting for nothing.SIGHHSSS... no0pb.gif Now, im impatient of waiting for them to resend the packet 3 and scared it might be lost again or wait another 2 weekssss? so asked them, that i have researched and downloaded the forms i need to send them back to be able to schedule for interview so if it is possible to send it their way even i have not received packet 3 yet...thank God they said YES... kicking.gif so mailed it to their office Right away...just WISHH innocent.gif ...we would be getting a schedule for interview soonn....

...and now back to waiting...

So any of you guys who just had their approvals out there and waiting for their packet 3...BETTER KEEP CHECKING!
For the rest who are still waiting...hope you get yours anytime SOON....

thats funny... My fiance still hasnt received not one package from the embassy. Not even the appt letter, and the appointment is Monday. lol You just gotta have faith with this system.

My finance still hasn't received anything from Barbados. They said that the packet was mailed on the 7th of this month, and when I asked why it was taking so long they resent another one on the 21st.

St. Vincent is right next to Barbados there is NO reason it should be taking this long.

This whole process is extremely frustrating!

Can I just tell you two that I am a person who gets excited and become extra proactive and I am a master Harrasser. Oh, back to the point, I have been in contact with the NVC, and Barbados Embassy, several times, and I have had no unpleasant experiences so far. I dont want to jinx myself, but my emails from the embassy have been returned in no more that 24 hours, and questions answered via phone. They even told me to feel free to follow up with a call for the interview date once the appointment has been scheduled. good.gif

Master Harrasser... LOL
Wow... hopefully they are that helpful and proactive for all of us... I have not heard any bad reports about Barbados yet and I pray it stays that way. Keep me updated on your progress and experiences with Barbados and I will do the same. good.gif kicking.gif

We received a touch on the 29th but it didn't change the status; it was still "received and pending".
Checked the mail when I got home from work today and the letter was sitting there.

I have mid summer in mind (hoping for earlier of course)... I figure with our relationship this has been a seven year process so a few more months is doable... I remind myself that in just a few months things will be a lot better and this wait will be just a vague memory.... Plus my hair falls out when I stress too much! I am passing my time by trying to plan the cheapest but elegant wedding ever... its frustrating enough that its extremely time consuming. It doesn't take my mind off the fact that I am lonely and extremely frustrated with this entire process, but it does remind me that end result is well worth it.

My friend got ordained over the internet and is going to marry us, then we are going out to eat as our wedding. The process is frustrating. . . and I concur the end result is well worth it.

My Dad is going to marry us at his home church in Fort Worth. The venue will be free and they do not mind the fact that we don't have an exact date. Its going to be a DIY wedding; which is fine since I am a graphic designer, and my mom is an artist... creativity comes in handy with decorations, invites, etc. Small wedding Small cost yes.gif

We had a bit of a sticky moment where the CO couldn't find my husband's divorce decree.

She nearly told me I had to re-submit it when I pointed out that, without that decree there was no evidence of his divorce and the I-129F would never have been approved, so the information HAD to be there. She rummaged around, went to her desk and finally found it.

Should she have actually lost it, I had a copy on hand.

This process is not clear cut and human error often means things go missing. I say better to be safe than sorry. For the sake of a few bucks sending it......i'd provide as much information to your fiancee as possible.

Yea I actually thought that probably a few of the more important things like proof of my divorce and so on I would go ahead and duplicate and have at her interview just in case something like that was to happen. Things in Ukraine are often more complicated than need be... smile.gif

Thank you very much for your input and glad to know you survived the "scare."

The consulate requires an approved I-129F package forwarded to them from USCIS. They don't require that the beneficiary have a copy of it. The reason this is listed in the guides is so that the beneficiary will know precisely what was submitted to USCIS. Aside from whatever the consulate learns from subsequent security and public record checks, the beneficiary will then know what the consulate knows. This reduces the chances they'll ask the beneficiary a question that the beneficiary won't be able to answer.

Thank you! I sort of suspected something along these lines. I didn't want to be short-handed and sorry at the interview but I also don't want to get silly about unnecessary paperwork as well. Thank you again for explaining exactly what I wanted explained!

When the NVC sends the approved petition to the embassy, is it just an approval notification or is it a copy of everything that I sent them? It's the entire package you initially submitted to USCIS.

I just read that I should have copied everything that I sent in along with the I129F and then should send that to my fiance to take along with her to the visa interview. Is that absolutely necessary? Not necessary, however it's good to keep a copy of the exact package you initially submitted. Just in case they ask very specific questions about the documents during her interview.

I didn't copy everything beforehand but I can pretty much reproduce it and send to her if it's really required. Nadiya had a copy of the package which I e-mailed to her and she studied it. The CO asked a couple of questions about some of the contents, but nothing major.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Ultimately is up to you. In our case, we decided to be prepared for anything and everything they could possibly throw at us.

Good luck.

Well in my case I wrote my congressman (faxed him a letter) first a few weeks ago and have yet to hear anything from him. I tried follow up calls and e-mails to no avail. Last week, after feeling frustrated with my congressman, I faxed my senator bascially the same letter. I sent the fax to him on the 26th of August. Yesterday, the 1st, I got a letter from him dated the 27th via snail-mail saying that he had contacted USCIS and that he would write me again as soon as he received a response from them. We got approved on the 31st! I don't know for sure but I have a feeling that it was probably the result of writing my senator that we were approved. It seemed as if we, along with alot of other filers from March, had gotten passed over, but now suddenly we are approved finally after 179 days. Here is the letter I sent:

"Dear Senator Cornyn:

I am writing to ask you to interact with the USCIS on my behalf in the case of my K-1 visa petition. As you can see, my petition was filed over 5 months ago and the VSC is now showing a 5 month processing time frame (https://egov.uscis.g...TimesDisplay.do). I am signed up with the USCIS website for online and e-mail updates but absolutely nothing has happened since the March 5th receipt acknowledgement. Communication with the VSC seems to be impossible and I am frustrated beyond belief. I believe we furnished them with every piece of required information and the fact that they have not asked for any further information reinforces this opinion in my mind.

If you would, at your earliest convenience, use the power of your office to investigate what is going on with my case and compel the USCIS to approve my petition or to provide a reason why they haven’t done so within their posted time frame I would very much appreciate it. Will you also please keep me informed as to what is occurring? The waiting and not knowing is really almost unbearable. '...personal portion deleted...' Between that and the visits (hard to go more than three months without seeing each other, not to mention being away from each other day after day after day) I am expending money that wouldn’t be necessary if the USCIS would stop dragging their heels and approve this petition or at least communicate with me. They were very expeditious in cashing my $455 check.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and I am very hopeful that you will help me in this matter.

Sincerely"

Good luck and hope this can be of some help to you. "I feel your pain (no tongue in cheek)."

Just be glad your at the CSC. VSC recently moved it's expected processing time for I-129Fs back to about 8 months, compared to CSC's 5 months. Enjoy what you've got!

Don't scare me and everyone else like this please! ranting33va.gif Actually VSC is showing roughly a 5 month timeline. Maybe now instead of me "going over the edge," as my fiance and I are now over 4 months into our wait ClockWatch2.gif, you and others that have read your post can now be slightly encouraged. Although the fact that they haven't updated that page in over 2 months isn't exactly inspiring. wacko.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresfile number A
I requested a meeting at my local USCIS office to see if I could learn anything since their have been no updates to our file since our NOA1 and the woman I met with there was able to see on her computer that our file has been "touched" several times and that they have already assigned my fiance an alien number but we still don't have an NOA2. This sounded strange to me. Has anyone heard of a situation like this and what significance is there to having been assigned an alien number? The woman there said that because my fiance has been assigned an alien number we can't see the updates on the USCIS website using the EAC number they originally assigned us.

You can send documents to the embassy for the interview before they even receive the petition from NVC? Now I'm really confused. smile.gif I thought you had to wait until the package from NVC arrived at the embassy before you could do anything other than the medical exam as far as the embassy is concerned?
