What will it say when it's approved?

We received an email on 11/19

We changed our address on the 1st of November and got this after 2 and a half weeks

The status of this service request is:

Recently, you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your I765 to notify us of your change of address. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

We have updated your address in our electronic system with the new information you gave during your call.

Status online still says Initial Review and that we updated our address and it came from Nebraska Service Center, that means we are in NSC right?

Congrats!

March filer here. We just had our I-130 petition approved on July 16th via email. It will probably take a couple weeks to receive the hard copy of the NOA2 here in Vietnam. Happy to get it finally. It probably would have been a month earlier but we had and RFE to deal with. We are both living abroad together.

Congrats!

But this wont work when the status says that the application number cannot be found, which is my problem. My receipt number starts with MSC

From my case status:
Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283.

When adding:
Validation Error(s)
You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:
Customer Portfolio Insert Failed
Attempting to add a case that does not exist. Check the application receipt number.

You should create an online account with USCIS. They will show you the last updated date. If it recently changed you will know they are processing your petition. When I log into my account it shows me last updated 03/22/13. Let me know how it works out.

so this made me curious, I haven't checked my case status for a while. I just checked today now it says

And I used the receipt number they gave me on the USCIS acceptance confirmation the one that starts with MSC, this is making me go crazy

PhilippinesDid not pass CFO seminar

I agree with maidtotravel

I also dont think the discrepancy of location where you got married has anything to do with CFO

If I were in her shoes, I would go back to the office and I guess I can take the seminar again. Your wife haven't paid for anything yet. After the seminar comes the interview. If she was given a pass, she would go to the 1st floor, go to the cashier and pay the Php400 seminar, counselling fee.

If she goes back, let her talk to the receptionist. The guards there are kind of rude. Would entertain questions but from what you said, your wife might be too shy to talk to the guard and would just get upset. The receptionist there is accomodating. she just needs to queue. Or I guess you can call the CFO office and ask, theres a local number there to call.

We went because of the passport requirements.  My wife goes back Thursday to get her sticker.

Do you still need to set an appointment to get the sticker?

I have a question: Is this right that a petitioner must file AOS i864 even though he isn't qulified based on income to support an intentional immigrant? and has two joint sponsors who actually will support an intentinal immigrant?  can a petitioner skip sending i864?

thank you!

IMBRA Special TopicsIs Refusing a Breathalyzer considered an alcohol related crime?
In IL it's an automatic suspension of your license for 6 months or a year. Not sure how the charge is reflected on your record.

IMBRA Special TopicsI HAVE A DOMESTIC CONVICTION
Bloodofheroes, do you now have a decent relationship with your sister now? Time heals many wounds, and if you two are past what happened - perhaps she will explain what occured to your fiance'? Either way, don't hide anything and be upfront - it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission at times and you could creae a whole set of problems by not being honest now.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusUkraine airports VIP service??
I used to bring gifts like CD players, make-up, some jewelry etc. Went through the normal line with my little declaration form in hand (3 times) and if it looks expensive, don't try and pass it off as cubic zirconia - declare it and as long as it's under the limit, no problem. I would pack the CD packages I carefully opened w/ a knife in a separate suitcase or carry-on and then re-package them on the other side as gifts. Same with money, if it's under the insoles of your shoes, likely it won't be seen, but it might. Problem is if you get caught or look fishy, then it adds time and possibly money. They know everyone brings things in, but if you think you can bring in oodles of items and get away with it, you are rolling the dice.

Russia, Ukraine and Belarusmed exam
I would suggest getting them done there, instead of here. While it's been a while for us, we could only get them done by a Civil Surgeon and there isn't that many out there and they don't accept medical insurance cards for this type of work. The cost for like one shot for my wife and two for or daughter, plus his initials on a few places & the offical stamp he was a Civil Surgeon, cost us over $500 EACH!! So get as much done as you can before they come here and good luck.

Russia, Ukraine and Belaruscoming home

i know i am 7 months early with this question, but my wife interviews in Warsaw, she is from Belarus. can i meet her in warsaw
and after the interview leave from there to come home, at worst if she is not approved i would eat the $1200 plane ticket but don't want to wait another month or 2 to fly with her to america

Like others, we tried that and bought two tickets, one for wife, one for daughter. Thought we were approved, went to pick up, nope not there. After several days or finding out what happened, and changing planes tickets at $300 a whack, there was a slight glitch w/ her birthday vs. the documents (off by one day) so they had to go back to the State Dept and see if there were any immigration violations or problems w/ an Iryna.... born on 3/2 not 3/3 blah, blah, blah. So while we thought we'd leave on Tuesday, we left on Friday.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusLooking for advice from the Veteran VJ RUB Couples

I'd caution not to push this though. My wife didn't care much about meeting up with other Russians. As she put it, "if you lived in my country, would you become friends with somebody just because they're American and speak your language?" We've made friends with some Russians, but not because we actively sought them out. It just sorta happened. (and one couple we met here on VJ)

Mox, would agree with you to some extent. She met a women from Kazakstan who became friends, I helped her get work, they hung out, yada yada, but it appears, like ANY country, there are good people and bad ones. He friend was a bad one who used our family and we finally cut the cord when she started treating my wife like a pet instead of a friend. But, she stays in constant contact and made trips to see her GF in CO, talks to others in Canada, Moscow, UK and happy she has a friend moving her soon, pending K-1 approval, about 20 minutes away. I think it's like any friendship, there has to be something more than just the language, but being able to share their experiences, on both sides of the pond, traditions, recipes and just chat over chi and cognac can make for less homesickness.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusLooking for advice from the Veteran VJ RUB Couples
Hi there, looks like you have lots of input & advise, but I thought I would add a little if it helps. We've been happily married for 7 years now. Like others, wished I would have done this long ago. We found what works well was at first, be patient - everything is new. I put stickers on everything in the house, from the spices, to the common household products and if the dog was any slower, would have labeled her too. We found subtitles on moves very helpful. It helps them sound out words they hear and a lot easier than the 26 CD set I bought. My wife still uses Skype at least twice a week to talk to her folks, we gave them a computer. For the longest time we relied on phone cards. Vonnage is great for Russia, UK friends etc. but doesn't cover Ukraine yet. We've had her parents here, twice, which is great because they can stay 90 days for the price of us going there for a week - and it's a vaca for them, especially if you plan it over winter.

We also celebrate a lot of their holidays with ours, so there is always a tie to her roots. Our daughter is so Americanized now (18) she has no clue what it was like there, but very happy and going to college. We do a lot together, from shopping, movies, going out for a beer/pizza to the kids stuff. Strangely, my wife still doesn't drive - and like someone said, if you survive that ordeal, you are a far better man than I. But, she doesn't mind me or our daughter taking her around. I think the key is patience, don't forget their roots, if you can stay in her country for any length in time - and see their culture, way of life and appreciate it what they go through, the better it will be long run for everyone. Don't hold it over their head, they know and remember and become the biggest patriots of our country I've seen. It's really cool if you can find a female friend who lives close by, so she can chat w/ them, have tea, exchange recipes etc. While we spoke nothing but Russian when they first got here, we seldom speak it now because she learned and wanted to.

We wish you good luck, don't worry about it so much, just don't forget why you two fell in love to begin with, work together and enjoy a long and happy life.
MikeAndIrynaMaleUkraine2012-07-17 18:24:00
Russia, Ukraine and BelarusDid you buy a ticket for you and/or your S/O in advance?
We bought ours so we could leave the night after the interview. Went to FedEx to get passport, nyet. After several days, lots of phone calls and visit back to consulate, we found out her BC was a day different than everything else (Dr. was drunk when she was born and put the next day, didn't catch that). So they had to go back to the State Dept and see if Iryna .... had an overstays, violations blah, blah, blah so several plane ticket changes, lots of money for the changes, we finally left 3 days later. Basically don't do it until you have the Visa in hand,

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusOkay I am offically confused

Discuss this with your wife before you talk to your daughter. Without your wife's support it will not go anywhere.

Totally agree with this, need the wife/mother support to get the point across. Maybe use the old American adage with her, regarding dating "Why buy the cow, when the milk is free" and see if that doesn't help get the point across.

My wife was on Skype bothe Saturday and Sunday for 4-5 hours like she does every weekend, no problems, except slow due to dial-up access in Ukraine.

There are a lot of other prblems over there, with certain web pages, the banks etc. but Skype seems OK>
