But still!! He could get a PO Box in PA, but does he also have to register himself as a resident of PA? Because he lives in Pittsburgh now for a year because of work, but his residence (home) is still Texas, thats where his mail/bank statements/etc goes to....... And what should we fill in on the forms???????????

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures; omg, what to do?
Hi you!

Me and my fiance are confused about what address to fill in...

The situation is like this:

1. He has a house in south-east Texas. It got striked by a hurricane and at the moment the State prisoners are tearing his house down, so he will build a new house.

2. He also has an appartment in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He moved to Pittsburgh in November 2009, so he lives in PA for almost a year now. However, he hasn't registrated himself as a PA citizen. (He's leasing an appartment because his company needs him there).

3. So his home address is still Texas.

So what address should we fill in? Should we fill in his home address, which is in Texas, or where he lives now, in Pittsburgh PA, for almost a year?

Please let me know... I sent my part of the I-129 Package to him, so he should receive it anytime soon, so he can add his part to it and send it to Dallas..

:innocent: I'm looking forward to the answers!!!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures; IS THIS POSSIBLE?
; thank you so much!!

So, I'll tell my fiance that he has to put his home address (TX) on the forms but since there is no house on his land yet (rebuilding a house), I'll tell him to add a sheet saying that his post address is his mom's address... Right?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures; IS THIS POSSIBLE?
Ok, so an other week passed by without sending the I-129f package :crying:
Everything is sooo ready to go, but yet we discovered an other problem.

My fiance (US citizen) has 2 residences, one in South East Texas, and in Pittsburgh (PA)

He is a DD, Directional Driller, and because he has to work all over the place and has to move a lot, can we do the following thing:

Can we use his moms address and fill in her address on all the forms? She is, ofcourse, way more often at home so whenever we receive something about our K-1 package, she can send it to my fiance.

My fiance is never home, but we aren't for sure if we are allowed to fill in his moms home address..

PLEASE LET US KNOW, because I'm getting so frustrated :( not sending out the package since we gathered everything, and so on.

THANK YOU!!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUh Ohhh... Form 325a
Good evening,

On the G-325a form it says you have to fill in "NONE", in case something isn't the case..
However, it didn't let me put NONE in it, after a couple of times, I got aggrivated  and I typed "X" in..

I also add a sheet in it, saying that it wouldn't put me NONE on it.. don't ask why  and explained I put a "X" instead.

Would this be a major problem?

Thanks in advance,

Channah

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDealing with the waiting game

Heeeeey!! :innocent:

Omg, I know exactly how you feel & at first I thought I was like the only one who's having this ####*d up problem :bonk: .. I am new here, & I found out there are so many others who are dealing with the waiting and feeling upset missing their significant other :crying: ...

I met my fiance in 2008, and since then I am flying back and forth (I want to see him every 2 months (L) )
But flying back & forth gets pretty old and is very annoying  ...

For now, I just got back in the Netherlands a week ago, and I am missing him like crazyyyy.. I spent the last 9 weeks in the US with him, and I had the time of my life.. and leaving him -again- sucked..

Like you, I am also dealing and thinking how to get through the day. I can't stop thinking about him, about this process (he is going to fill in these forms anytime soon, so we just started this process!).

It can't be soon enough for me, like everyone else here, to have a K1 visa, get married, living and spending time with the person we love, without worrying about leaving again.

The best thing for us to do is to keep yourself busy, it's easier said than done, but I think that's the best thing to do, so you can keep your mind off things like thinking about him and this and that  ....

& ofcourse, we are very priviliged with using internet/webcams/cellphones and all that. :star:

I am also really glad I found out this website!! A lot of information & soulmates!!

Anywhoooo, I'm also like.. Ok, the waiting s*cks, but what's 7 months compared to spending a LIFE TIME with your future husband?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAge gap?
; wow, that's pretty big age gap. But I do know that there isn't a limit or anything  .. But like the ones above me said.. You have to prove that your relationship is real, and they will question a lot about the age gap, asks you why you have a fiance like your father's age. And they are very questioning about the fact that he just want to date a very young girl who can be his daughter. I know a case like that, and I know that they are very strict dealing with that. One last tip, just fight it!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNever "met in person" - disabled
; If you can't fly over, why can't she? You're the one who is disabled, but you shouldn't use the I-129f just to meet each other for the first time. This Visa is for whom who are seriously planning to get married.

Just let her fly over to come see you and see if there is a real connection in real life, since you are unable to fly and see her there.

Good luck!

Hi you!! :innocent:

Thank you for reading my topic and hopefully you have the answer I'm looking for..

I'm quit my job because of re-organisation, but have found a new job. :joy:

Because I filled in my current job on my G325A form that I'm working for the company "A", and not for my new company "B", ofcourse, I should let them know!

My question is: how should I let them know? Via E-mail? If so, which E-mail address should I use? Maybe they have a particular E-mail address I have to use.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNON-IMPEDMENT OF MARRIAGE
QUOTE (STEPHANDBRIAN @ Mar 10 2008, 12:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Here is my situation. My fiance is divorced. His ex divorced him through Canada (where she lives). Do I still need the non-impedment? How do I get that if he has only been divorced abroad? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hey Steph....

Yeah, you STILL need your fiance to have his no impediment to marry requested down in JA. Since HE'S still from Jamaica AND THEY WERE MARRIED DOWN THERE, he's going to need to "prove" that he's no longer married for the K-1 interview etc. Since his ex divorced him in Canada - he might need to get something from there showing he's now divorced. Does he have any communication with the ex to find out if the divorce decree exists?

If not, I would say contact the Jamaican RGD (Registrar General's office) and ask them what he needs to do to show them he's not married anymore and then proceed from there.

PM me if you need help along the way!

Also Megan currently lives with her grandparents and obviously they own the house. Is this deemed acceptable as obviously we will be getting a house together after we are married and I am eligible to work? Also she was going to use her father as a co-sponsor for me. Is this also acceptable even although she doesn't live with her father but he does live locally?

Thanks again everyone smile.gif

With regards to point 1, can I stay here right up until the 11th of June or will I be required to leave before then if the petition is accepted or denied?

All the supporting evidence of our relationship is only really from October 2007 till the present time, is that substantial enough for the interview?

There should not be any problems with you staying in the United States until June 11th.

The evidence you have will be enough for the interview. Just be sure to include pictures, emails, phone bills, passport stamps, etc... everything you can think of to show a bona fide relationship.

Hope this helps.

That is correct. You may stay whether you file an I-129F or not.

However, provided your decision to marry occured after your most recent US entry, you have the option of simply marrying in the US now and filing to adjust status to permanent resident, based on your marriage to a US Citizen. Of course, you'll need to remain in the US until either the green card arrives or you have advanced parole. For more information, study the AOS guide. Just click the word "Guides" at the top of any page.

I thought that was frowned upon and considered to be fraud in the eyes of INS though? Ideally that is what I would like to do so we didn't have to be apart but I don't want to risk being deported and not getting a visa again.......Any help appreciated smile.gif

Fruad is based on intentions. See the bolded part of what I wrote. Entering the US on the VWP or with a visitor visa with the intention of marrying AND adjusting status based on that marriage in order to circumvent immigration law is one thing. (an illegal thing) Entering with the intention of visiting and then deciding to marry is allowed. Which description fits you?

Definitely the latter but what evidence will the INS want to see to back up your claim that we actually just happened to change your mind and get married?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresA Few Questions
Hi there.

A quick introduction before I ask the questions I have. I'm Graham, UK Citizen all my life (26) and I'm currently on holiday with Megan, my US Citizen girlfriend (23).

We met online around 10 years ago and have been in touch ever since as pen friends. We first met in April 2003 and I stayed until May 18th, when she kindly invited me for a holiday to meet with her friends and family. After that we still stayed in touch but my working life and her school life kept us apart. I moved around a couple of times and finally we decided after a vast amount of emailing, calling and online chatting that I should come across again to see how our feelings were for one another. Well I came over on 29th November 2007 and stayed for 5 days and we decided that we wanted to be together. So she came to the UK on February 29th for 18 days to meet with my family and for her to see where I live without the aid of pictures! We both then traveled here to the US to spend some more time together. I have a return ticket booked for 11th June and have every intention of using it, perhaps even leaving early to start proceedings for a K1 Visa as we have decided to get married smile.gif

I apoligise to everyone for the long post but wanted to get the whole story in to get the best possible information!

So here are my questions......

1. Can we begin filing for the I-129F while I am still in the country with Megan or would it be advisable to leave before we started proceedings?

2. In previous experience of everyone on here, is our story above enough to satisfy the criteria for having met with one another? We don't have any emails between us except for those before I came over in November 2007, but I do have my cell phone bills from that period. Are these sufficient additional evidence along with pictures and receipts for engagement rings etc?

Thank you for taking the time to read the above version of our War and Peace and I look forward to hearing from people who have had the same experiences as we are having.

Graham and Megan.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEmployment Status for Packet 3 Forms
I was reading through the forms that are required for the Embassy stage of the process in the UK and noticed that it asks for present employer on a couple of occassions. The problem is that I am currently unemployed as my employer wouldn't give me a leave of absence to visit with my Fiancee, Megan, for 3 months. Does that count against us in any way?

When I was 21, some 5 years ago I was convicted with "Driving without due care and attention or consideration for other road users". Does anyone know if this will cause any problems with the Police Certificate stage of the process?

I know its early on as we only sent our petition off on Saturday just trying to get everything in place while I'm still in the US with Megan.

When we sent off our I-129F packet we included a copy of the receipt from the jewellers for Megan's engagement ring.
