Oh, hell no. And my grandmother would always tell me to check out his bedsheets to see how clean they are. I can't stand a NASTY unkempt man. Like some men think it's okay to use their woman's toothbrush...I will kick your A$$ and don't use my TOWEL.

Since we on the subject, kitchens. Some men (not all) like to cook, but refuse to clean the kitchen. When I cook and clean the kitchen at the same time. And if you're going to clean the kitchen sweep the damn floor or wipe it if it needs to be wiped. The floor is party of the kitchen and it needs to be clean too.

Next thing...you have got to separate your laundry. Don't put the entire basket of clothing into the machine OMG plus towels and bedsheets the machine will be unbalanced when it spin and the clothes won't was good. I mean u use to wash it by hand so wah you a complain fah now. mad.gif

and THIS DOES IT FOR ME

Don't use my DAMN deodorant or PERFUME a tell me seh you wah SMELL SWEET TUH!

OMG I can't even count the times that I heard this very same statement!! That drove me wacko.gif About 3 weeks ago I brought Kenneth Cole Black for HER!! I woke up when he was getting ready for work and caught him spraying on my stuff!! I ran not walked to the store to buy him his own bottle! IHe is a colgne freak and has sevral bokkles!! I'm not even going to mention those items mad.gif He is getting better about using my stuff but only because I think he gets tired of me fussing whistling.gif

SHYNE all my boyfriends have been Jamaican and it's all the same. Back in the early 90s it was GORGIO or WHITE DIAMONDS

This is toooo funny! I'm so mad I missed this whole discussion......I thought Dave was crazy when I saw him with his OWN bottle of women's cologne.....he said they all buy stuff like that when the tourists come in town or bring it to sell from the cruise ships. laughing.gif laughing.gif rofl.gif

Oh! Damn. Dumb a$$ is an under-statement. Man, I hope they find his a$$ out. Your cousin lucked up big time, and this other poor woman. Damn, just sad.

Browinin, she thank God everyday. The woman he married, according to his cousin, is someone he met in January at Pelican in Mobay. He also has two woman pregnant one in Jamaica and the other in New York and I'm 100% sure the one he just married don't know about either of them. His day will come.

Hey All...

I haven't been on here much lately.....getting ready for the interview next week but wanted u all to know Dave did have his medical on 3/18 as planned. I PM'ed some of u about him still needing a couple of the immunizations for the interview and it seems like it worked itself out. (THANKS to JG, Gill and JaLove for the info.) smile.gif

A lot of places are closed down in JA today and monday cause of the holidays but I spoke with the NVC and the R.N. at Andrews memorial who said Dave can just take the "proof" that he got the shots straight to the Interview and we should be fine.

Thanks for all your advice and words of encouragement. I still got about 30 pages of posts to read before i can catch up on what u all been talking about these last few days ( LOL) but i'll keep everyone posted about my case.

Have a good weekend!

Tonisha

Happy Easter To All & Good Afternoon,

Could you tell me how much it cost you with the shots and medical.....I am prepared for about $300 but just checking?

Thanks,
Tonya

Hey Tonya,

Dave's medical was $90 U.S. at Andrews Memorial and about another $150 U.S. for the shots....IF he would have got them at the Medical appointment. He ended up getting them for about $75 at his own doctor's office yesterday. We forgot all the offices were closed down there on Good Friday so he had to wait.

One thing about trying to get all the shots from the local health district is they don't always HAVE all the necessary immunizations so have ur hubby check on that kinda stuff first. Even if dave would have gone to get his shots before the physical....he still would have gone to 2 or 3 places before someone could do them all.

Hi Ladies, hope you are all having a wonderful day.

I'm still putting together my K1 application and its definitely taking a toll on me! Anyway 3 questions:

1) Is it one or two passport type photos that should be included with the G325A?

2)For the description of how we met, I have two paragraphs, one long and one short, is this too much information or not enough? I've read on this site that it should not be too specific but then elsewhere on the site I've read I should be very specific.

3) Does it matter if I pay with a personal check or money order? I was thinking of using a personal check.

Thanks for your help!

Mumsie,

Make it short but accurate. Things that your SO will remember...Place, Date, what you were doing. The more info you give them....the more questions they can generate to ask him...Short, but concise!

One to two paragraphs should be good....it's 'War & Peace' novels that I would say NO too!

Bless,
Gill

P.S.- PERSONAL CHECK PERSONAL CHECK PERSONAL CHECK!!! You can track the progress of your application better!

yup what she said.....and photo copy the check as well....just to have another type of record.....you know how they can be with paperwork!!!

Ohhh,

thanks for reminding me Nans....photo copy your Entire application (a PITA...I KNOW, but trust me ...you'll thank us for it in the end!)....especially the 'how you met part' ...send a copy to SO and let him start memorizing it from NOW!!! I can't memba bout deh passport pictura dem...

Bless,Gill

This was on the I-129F checklist

7. G-325A (all four pages) filled out by the US Citizen signed and dated (see example)

8. One passport-type photo (see specification) of the US Citizen. Write the full name of the US citizen on the back. Place in a plastic bag and label the bag "Photo of <Insert US Citizen's Name>". Attach the bag to a sheet of paper and place behind the corresponding G-325a.

9. G-325A (all four pages) filled out by the foreign fiance(e) signed and dated (see example)

10. One passport-type photo (see specification) of the foreign fiance(e). Write the full name of the foreign fiance(e) on the back. Place in a plastic bag and label the bag "Photo of (insert foreign fiance(e) name) ". Attach the bag to a sheet of paper and place behind the corresponding G-325a.

Mawnin Lawny;

What you up to girl? I just booked a trip to JA (Sunset Jamaica Grande) for June for some family and friends. They had a trip for 5 days for $686 per person, so Ray's going to stay there with me and doesn't even know it. I'm going to surprise him if I can keep my big mouth shut that long. lol

My Meez is at the airport a little early, don't you think??? laughing.gif

We booked a trip for November. We're thinking of staying a few days at Sunset JA Grande. Let me know how it is and if it's friendly for locals. You know how some places are!

From the infromation I've received already, it seems as if SJG's a good place for locals and tourists. I did hear about them being strict when it comes to people coming on the property (to the lobby area) that are not guests', but I'll have to see when I get there. I'll let you know.

Girl, they are a TOO damn strict with that. I had to cuss them out in June last year. A friend of mine was getting married and Sandals, so a lot of the guest stayed at Jamaica Grande (most of the guest were Jamaica). I had to tell off the security guard, because we walked into the town and they must of changed shift. He's going to quesition my cousins and I about how long we've been on the property. Now, we all had our wristband on. I asked him if he was damn blind and when he stood in front of us I lost it. I said, you would not treat anyone else like that so step the *&%^ off. He wanted to know when whe checked in and that he had not seen us on the property. Main reason I hate staying at resorts, I think they treat the JAMAICANS differently. At the Riu, I purchased day passes for my cousins and the guard wanted them to stay at the gate then walk up. Now, the walk from the gate to the front desk is a long A$$ walk. I said abosolutely NOT! I told them to call the front desk. Why the hell would I try to sneak people into the property, which was what the guard implied. I was so damn upset. When he checked his log, he had my cousin's names there.

I love Jamaica Grande, because everything is right there. Ochi can be a little crazy at times and I'm sure ya'll already know. Hold on to your HANDBAGS...all they have to see is the WRISTBAND and you're an instant target.

That's a shame... They reason don't have to be that strict. When I stayed at Sandcastles in February, Ray bite off our wristbands. I was like omg, what are you doing. He said we don't need people knowing where we stay. It was fine to do at Sandcastles, but probably not at any of the other resorts. I wonder what he'll do when we stay at SJG together in June...

BITE THAT ONE OFF TOO! laughing.gif laughing.gif laughing.gif

Hey all....question about the AOS. Someone just PM'd me and asked this and it got me to thinking. The question was..."How long after we get married, do we have to officially File the AOS?"

I'm thinking they give us a certain amount of time to send the AOS packet in once you're married but does anyone actually know how long we have?????? wacko.gif

Secondly, they asked whether or not their fiance would be able to "keep" his job while waiting for the permanent EAD.....once the 90 day work permit expires? I told her it probably would be up to the employer but that more than likely, her fiance would NOT be allowed to continue working and would have to wait to get the EAD in the mail. I've heard of some people getting "RE-Hired" once they have the EAD but how likely is that????

Anybody have thoughts on these topics? If so.....PM me with what u know or write back smile.gif

Me & dave are in the same situation when the time comes, so any info would be helpful! LOL

This is a topic often spoken about on here. You have to marry in 90 days. After that, there really is no official word on how long you have. Technically, once you marry, you are out of status because you are no longer the fiance who came on the K-1. Also, the longer you take eventually effects the AP & EAD. I have heard of a few people who have waited over a year and one who waited 2 years and AOS without problems.

As far as the 90 day work permit.....yes, it is up to the employer. Most I have heard do not allow you to work unless you are legal for obvious reasons.

True...Ken's employer let him continue working. They agreed to take out his taxes as if he was still in status...as long as we file before August 31, 2008. I am hoping to file before the end of this month. Few more things to pick-up ( my friend is picking up is Medical/Vaccination Records at MoBay Hope today).
Gill

P.S.- Note to newly approved people and those still waiting...make sure your SO (on K1) brings a copy his medical/vaccination records. The woman at MoBay Hope said a copy would be in the 'DO NOT OPEN TIL YOU REACH THE US' packet...IT WAS NOT!!! mad.gif You will need it when you file the AOS...it's cheaper than going through the whole dyam thing again!

Yeah, getting the Immunization records after they get to the States sounds like a headache but it gets done all the time.

I've had Dave's Medical/ Immunization records since April for just that reason.....we need atleast the shot records/ immunization card to send in with AOS. I also found that it's good to stay ahead with the passport pics, copies of the police record and birth certificates too! laughing.gif

We've used copies of all of them for job applications, his employer, the marriage license and other things as well. I think that's one of the reasons dave got hired so fast.......I had copies of everything to help them make their decision to choose him! laughing.gif

THANKS JG and to all of you who responded (Sus, JAEngy, Mich & Gill... smile.gif )

I passed the info onto our fellow yardie (Belamacanda) as well.

It all makes perfect sense that there technically is "no" time limit on when to do the AOS as dave's "out of status" as soon as we get married and he's no longer a K-1/ fiance status. My thought was to send in the AOS/ EAD/ AP packet the end of this month once we're married. He probably will have to "stop" working as of August 18th when the JFK work stamp ends but atleast we would have filed for the more permanent documents long before then. At best, Dave has been one of the more lucky ones to find a job so fast and get 3 months of work experience while he's still on the K-1......for that, i'm eternally grateful! LOLLLL

Kohl's just called today asking if he wants to come in for an interview too! We're both surprised by how many Pittsburgh employers seem open to hiring him yes.gif

Have a wonderful time at the DC Carnival.

Can you even get married at 16?

I remember me at that age.....I was not very mature....even though I thought I was grown.

Sunny, I am glad things are moving along, hope you get a drop off date soon.

I am still hanging in there but still very upset about my current relationship status.. sad.gif The one thing that keeps me going is the thought of holding my baby girl in my arms in a few months, everytime I feel a kick (which is quite often) it reminds me of what awaits.. I can't wait to see her already!

Thanks mommy girl... I hope that I hear something soon. You hang in there and things will work themselves out. Have you picked out a name for the baby?

Irie, those picutures are so darn cute. You and Louis look very nice together, and your daugther is the cutest...

Yeah, that's right Kel. The fee for AOS is $1010 whether u file the EAD and AP with it or not. Some people wait to send off the EAD and AP paperwork till after they get a receipt notice (I-797) from their AOS packet but while ur already paying the fee....u might as well "apply" for all 3 documents at one time.

Jason, tell Marla "Things happen" no need to feel bad... That's what insurance is for. We pay for years and years and never use it.....

Hey Mich......I didn't wait for Kingston to "receive" my case when I started emailing them. I just got the KNG# from the NVC right over the phone and just started emailing away! LOLLLL

Even if Kingston doesn't technically have ur case, u can still email them about the DS230 drop off. What they did for me and dave is just scheduled a drop off date that was about 2 weeks away and it worked out fine. Some may of had a difference experience and tell u to wait but me and Gill didn't and things went just fine.

Try to get the KNG# from the NVC and then work from there. If we would of waited till Kingston had the petition in their office, it would have pushed our drop off date back by about 3-4 weeks. We would have never gotten an April interview that fast if i hadn't started communicating with them beforehand.

Try it and see what happens. wink.gif

Jengles....from what I understand now, the total fee for AOS of the K-1 includes the EAD, AP, and AOS. 3 forms with supporting evidence, processed seperately; but sent in together with the one fee. If you decide to only do AOS, you still pay the same fee.

U can still apply for the SS# regardless if u got the JFK work stamp or not. He just can't work until you've gotten married and he has his EAD.

Since we're on the topic.....LOL.....DAVE STARTED HIS NEW JOB TODAY!!!!!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif He got his SS# last friday and applied at a bunch of places this week, thinking he'd be lucky to get anything with the JFK work stamp. One of the larger grocery store chains called him in yesterday for an interview and he started today! kicking.gif

ok..Sus i feel u on this..it's madness..it's not like she is on contact list or anything....I don't think the police can do anything cause she is his mother..no matter how long she's been out of his life

And think of the poor baby who left with someone who says she is his mother, but he doesn't know it to be because she never has been around - cho!! We're feeling your rant Sus, and it's justified!

Happy Birthday Sunny! Are you off today celebrating?

*********GUESS WHO I JUST HAD LUNCH WITH????????

KELLY (JOMO'S girl) and ANDRE....they're such a cute couple and so down to heart. Andre is a true gentleman and they had me cracking up. Kelly's picture does her no justice. She looks great and I got so many cute gifts (yes, I'm bragging). Okay, going to get a cup of ice now, it's to DAMN hot outside.

Glad u guys had fun. Sounds like it was nice to hook up with some folks from here. I was wondering where Kell had been this last week... laughing.gif
