IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsVisa Approved Praise God! My Detailed Interview Experienced Yesterday!

Hi guys I just want to share my unforgettable experienced yesterday during my interview. =) :joy:

My schedule interview was at 6:15 am so we arrived at the embassy at 5:30 am and I was surprised to see a lot of applicants already in a long line. There are many lines outside so be sure to ask where is your proper line, I did ask a lady where is the line of the 6:15 a.m immigrant applicants and then she showed it to me and to my surprised it was one of the longest line. At 6 a.m the guard let us comes in first (all the immigrant visa line) they told us to prepare our P4 (Interview Letter) only the first page and the passport. Then they gave me a number and a form ( 2Go Shipping Form) Next stop is to put all my stuff to a scanner for an inspection and then I went to a Window 1 and a Filipino guy gave me a small zip-lock plastic and he told me to go to the Door 2.

As I was inside the door 2 there's an another inspection of my things and then after that the Filipina lady told me to find a seat and wait for my number to flash on the screen. So this is the start of the long waiting LoL. You have to keep an eye always on the screen with red numbers flashing on it though I found it quite tiring hehe. We were inside the embassy at 6:20 am and my number finally showed up at 8:30 am (after almost 2 hours) I went to window 42 and it was an American guy and he looks nice. He asked me my complete name and birthday and then told me to put my 4 left fingers on the scanner then my 4 right fingers then my left and right thumb together. After that he told me to wipe the scanner with the tissue beside it then told me that I can go back to my seat and wait for my number to be called again. Before I went back to my seat I immediately went to the Ladies Room cause I've been holding my pee for almost 2 hours LoL. Then I went back to seat and waited again, as I've been waiting I was talking to some applicants to know their experienced and killed the boredom too hehe. After an hour (9:30 a.m now) my number flashed again and I went to Window 48 and it was a Filipina lady who was strict and not so friendly. She asked me many things like how did we meet, what is the work of my husband, what is the work of our joint sponsor, how is he related to us, when did we get married, how many times did he visited me, how many times we talk everyday, how he is supporting me, then she also asked for our pictures together, she also ask me if i am working ans I told her I am already resigned last March 2014 and then she asked me what is my work then I told her I am a Teacher. Then she told me that's all and I can go back to my seat and wait for my final interview of the US consul. The Filipina staff there told us to move to the next row of chairs if we are just waiting for our final interview. So we move to the next row and finally I saw some of the American CO's. I could say that some of them looks strict though. As I was waiting for my number to flash I keep on praying that the CO that would be assign to me is kind. At around 10:20 a.m my number finally flashed! So I went to Window 59 and to my surprised the consul is an Asian! He smiled at me and greeted me Hi Ma'am. How are you today? I am not sure if he is a Korean or Chinese, but he was really so nice. Then he told me to raise my right hand and read the oath posted at right side of the window. After reading it he told me I did read it great LoL. Then he started asking me these questions:

1. When did you get married?

2. What is his work?

3. How is your husband related to the joint sponsor?

4. Did you already travel to the other country?

5. Are you excited to go to California? (With a smile on his face)

Then he told me that's all and I can go back to my seat and wait for my number to be called.I said thank you with a big smile on my face. At around 10;40 a.m my number was called to Window 71 and the Filipino guy told me to drop my form at 2GO Courier at Window 69! After dropping it the lady at the 2GO told me that I can finally go home. I was back at the hotel at 11 a.m skyping with my love. Wow what a wonderful experienced! Among the many documents we prepared, they didn't even ask for it (only some pictures by the Filipina lady though) My advice is just to prepare everything! Better to be ready than not.

Thank God for everything and for His goodness and faithfulness! To GOD be all the glory!! God bless everyone.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMy friend needs help! Urgent

The visa is delayed for as long as it takes for the requested documents to be delivered, matched up with the case file and evaluated.  However, there is no need to worry, just submit the documents and allow the process to take place.

Thanks she's worried cause she needs to be with her hubby soon. How long does it take for the visa to be issued after submitting all her required docs?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMy friend needs help! Urgent

She had her interview yesterday at USEM and so far the interview went well but the CO  told her that she just needs to submit documents i.e:

1) W-2 2013 of their joint sponsor's wife

2.) Form I-864A since the joint sponsor and his wife have joint annual income

They kept her passport & gave back her P4 then tell her to drop her 2GO form at the 2GO courier.

They're planning to urgently pass the needed documents this week. Will this cause her visa to be dalayed?

Do they need to be worry about something? Why did the NVC didn't see this problem before?

Thanks guys for helping her.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-130 MARCH 2013 FILERS!! NBC

So I have been reading a lot about the Division 8 opening up. Does this office benefit the March filers in any way? Do our applications go to the local office for approval? I talked to a tier 2 officer yesterday and I asked him about an update for my case. He said that basically, the application will be routed to my local field office which is in Houston. I asked him how long this will take? He said he doesn't know, and I told him that it is going on 6 months, why has there not been any movement in my family, he said he's not at liberty to give me that information.. UGH!!!!!!!!!!

Any march filers with any updates? I checked my case status on line, and the last time it was touched was March 28, has not been touched after that... This is getting really frustrating.

Same situation as yours. We're also March filer & there's never been any update after we received the Noa 1.

Not necessarily, from what i hear on VJ. Many people don't know their file has been transferred till they call the USCIS.

Ok thanks we'll try to call them (USCIS) and ask.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-130 MARCH 2013 FILERS!! NBC

it's about statistics of how many petitions each field office processed in Q1 of 2013 (and earlier for that matter), apparently. Q1 being Jan, Feb, Mar.

How do you know it wasn't sent to the field office? Did your husband do an infopass? I'm not sure that one can rely only on telephone calls to USCIS because at times they seem clueless.

The USCIS will send an email or a notice that they are transferring the case to a local office. I just dunno how to make an appeal or request for them to transfer our case in a local office at San Francisco.=(

My husband filed an I-130 petition for me and was received by the USCIS last March 29 & they sent us an email that our case was routed to the National Benefits Center for processing. It would be our 6th month now & our case was not yet send to a local office which is in San Francisco. What do you think are the reasons? If our papers stayed at NBC would it be process there? We have no request for RFE our papers are all complete.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsVisa Status From Admin Processing to Ready (Pls help)

My friend's visa status was in Administrative processing 6 days ago and now went to Ready. She already submitted the additional documents last week and the USEM received them last June 17. We are just worried because her case updated today with a status of Ready but the info below says: "Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have received interview scheduling instructions."

That was the info before the Interview right? Pls enlightened us thanks!

Philippines3 Weeks Before My Interview..What's The Required Dress-Code?

No dress code at all but I wanted to dress smart - I wore a knee-length dress. Something you would wear to the office but not looking like a uniform.

i brought a lot of documents with me during my interview - our whole I-129F packet and our I-134 packet plus other more! I just wanted to make sure I have everything that they will need. So a big grocery eco-bag plus my purse! Haha :)

Stay calm and relax. God bless!

Thank you! God bless you too!

Agreed with the rest, smart casual and dress comfortably. If you're not comfy with heels, just wear flats. The idea is wear something that you would wear in a job interview. In my case, I wore a nice blouse, black slacks and flats. If you easily get cold, do bring a cardigan or blazer, because the waiting area is somewhat cold. I brought a laptop bag to contain my documents, and only a few of my personal effects / kikay stuff. No cellphones, flash drive, etc.

And last but not the least, don't forget to wear your best smile. Stay relaxed! You're almost there. All the best!

Thank you! =)

There's no specific dress code for the interview, however, that is a special day for you so dress appropriately.  I wore smart casual.  ;)

Take note that electronics, cellphones, USB devices and the likes are not allowed inside the embassy.

Girly stuff?  Never leave home without it.

PhilippinesStatus: A/P. got 221g. Is that approved? :(

Visa status: A/P. just today done with my interview. Got 221g. Im worried. Im already approved right? I was required by the embassy to have my NBI having a.k.a "yula" because my birthcertificate was corrected from "yula" to "eula" wayback 2007. Im nit informed on this case that i need to have my nbi with a.k.a on my former incorrect name. Help :(

Yes you're approve just submit the require document. Your visa might just be delay for 1 to 2 weeks so i suggest immediately submit what they need via 2 go. God bless!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsPlease help me understand this!

I have read on the USCIS about this:

I-130 Petition for Alien Relative Permanent resident filling for a spouse or child under 21 5 Months I-130 Petition for Alien Relative U.S. citizen filing for a spouse, parent, or child under 21 October 1, 2012

Why a permanent resident takes only 5 months for the processing while an american citizen is left behind? Isn't this unfair?oops8rh.gif

Thats not what a background check is for. We would never get through USCIS if every employer had to be verified.

When he submits his I-864 at NVC he will have his current employer information. Nothing to worry about.

Ok thank  you!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHelp pls!!!

I doubt they will call any of his previous employers.

From what I've read, they use the biographic info to compare it with any hits they might get while running background checks.

Say, a person with a name just like yours committed a crime/violated visa status/####### like that. They run a background check and get a few hits.

Then, they will look at the bio info you provided to determine if you this person is indeed you.

The info you provided will tell them that it wasn't you, but another person with a name just like yours.

Hope this helps.

Wow thanks a lot! I feel much better now. Appreciate it!dancin5hr.gif

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHelp pls!!!

When my husband filed my I-130 petition last march he's still working as a counselor but a few weeks later he resigned and move into security field. My concern is now, when he filled up the forms (I-130) he wrote there he's job is a counselor cause that's was his present job then.

Our case now is still in initial review since march, my question is during the background check and when the uscis called that shelter he's been working before and they find out that he is already resigned, will it affect our papers?

Please i need your advises and knowledge about this matter. Thanks guys!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhy are some cases transferred to their local office? Why ours is still at NBC?

I think we are in same boat, we have same PD too. I am hoping we will hear something about our case this week.

Yeah lets keep praying. Please let me know if u got any updates. Btw my husband did send letters for their 2 senators, hoping they can help our case.

jj_stoutFemalePhilippines2013-11-11 09:50:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhy are some cases transferred to their local office? Why ours is still at NBC?

USCIS is not senting files to local offices but to 3 service centers CSC, TCS and VCS. There have been some approvals  coming in due to the transfers, most from VSC so your chances of a faster approval if you get transfer will increase abit. Though you never know cuz this is USCIS we are talking about.

Yeah thanks for that info! We're hopeful!

Your file would be transferred to a service center, not a local office.

Quite a few of VJers got approved after circa 2 weeks from the transfer. Hard to say if it will be a trend

Hopefully, though!

Exactly...

Yeah let's hope for the best though it's really so hard to wait.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhy are some cases transferred to their local office? Why ours is still at NBC?

From what I have been reading, Uscis did say that most files will be sent to service centres and some will be adjusticated at NBC.

However by looking at the March 13 filer threat it seems they are now starting to transfer end of Mar filers. Maybe you will be getting your transfer notice this week.

Check out the thread for more info.
