Philippines7 days to go
For future reference.....

If you are a US Green Card holder, they will waive most of Philippine Travel Tax. I think it is only P200 or something like that, if you show your green card.

If you only have a Visa...then you still pay the travel tax and the terminal fee when you leave. Pay the travel tax for Philippine citizen first...then ticket counter...then terminal fee.

PhilippinesReport of Marriage - Return postage amount?
I would also recommend to go to the Philippines Embassy website and sign up for the email alerts. They do outreach all the time. When it comes time to change the name on her passport or register children it's great.

We are in Kentucky also, and we did our report of marriage and passport name change in Charleston, WV when they did an outreach there.

PhilippinesPOE Chicago O'Hare
Welcome to the USA. My fiancee's POE was Chicago and it was smooth and pleasant. It's a good place to enter.

PhilippinesConsulate in Washington DC

By all means...the Metro is the way to go. Find a station that has parking, if it hasn't changed in the last year it's about $4 and change for all day. Get there early. You can ride Metro all day for like $7. Beats the traffic and parking. Easy to get almost anywhere. Metro fare available in the station with cash or card.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPetitioner at K1 Interview
Thanks for he quick responses. good.gif

I guess my worry is her going through the process alone. And, how many petitioners were not at the interview. If they were not there, was it harder for the beneficiary. I just want it to go smoothly for her. Maybe I worry too much.

Thanks for the responses.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPetitioner at K1 Interview
Sorry if this has been asked before, but, I'm just trying to think ahead.

Is it important for the US petitioner to be present at the consolate interview for K1 visa? Is it a big deal if the petitioner is not present at the embassy for the K1 interview? The reason I ask is for two reasons. I would love to be there if it is allowed or encouraged. I may not be able to be there for financial reasons, but will be able to go there if visa is approved. If it helps for me to be there, I will make arrangements to make it happen.

I read in various posts about both the petitioner and beneficiary being at the interview, yet in K1 guides, it says that 90% of petitioners are asked to leave for the interview.

My fiancee is Philippine so this would be at Manila.

Just gettig started.....VisaJourney convinced me I could do it. I hope I can. I truly love my fiancee, and want her with me. star_smile.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAny Advice for New filer?
This place is a wonderful resource. Use the guides. When you do paperwork, cross all the t's, dot all the i's and lower case j's.

It will look like an impossible task, but you can do it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSt. Lukes Vaccination Sheet marked incomplete
I know it may me an extra expense, but I would have a civil surgeon transcribe it. If there is anything missing, you can get it corrected or taken care of before you file. My wife had to get a few extra vaccinations at our local health department (which were free)because her St. Luke's form wasn't exactly complete. In my opinion, it is worth the little bit of extra time, than to worry with an RFE.
