K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurescost of filing K1
hello there.

well ya it says no need to send the beneficiary's BC, NBI etc.. but i think it wont hurt anyway.. me and my fiance are also doing the same thing. we will send a copy of his birth certificate and copy of his passport, copy my birth cert and a copy of my biographic page in my passport, we will also send a CENOMAR police clearance and even a parental consent, etc. well we just think it won't hurt the petition anyway. the more you provide the better than receiving RFE. if they dont need it then they can just ignore it. but it might be helpful for them if they will do a background investigation if not, also fine.

However we will also bring documents needed for the interview. like the CENOMAR, NBI, POLICE Clearance, etc...

I guess for some filers they prefer to send in more than LESS.

But make SURE u provide first the documents are are primarily needed for the I-129F.. then add some if u like.

Our cover letter is 2 pages. LOL! but we made sure to provide what are really needed then the supporting docs. :)

Thank you VJers for the quick response. This whole process is anxiety building what more on the day of the interview. This is more than just butterflies in your tummy. My interview is on January 17th. Is it best to do medical examination ona January 8th? what should be the time frame? and how long is the medical thing gonna be? Thanks in advance. Looking forward to your responses.Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Based on some K1 applicant's experience, it is good to have medical exam atleast a week prior to your interview date. sometimes the medical exam takes a day or 2. depends on the results too.. the medical exam is valid for 6 months though.. you might also want to meet our fellow Fil K1 applicants... at All About K1 on FB. you can ask questions to K1 applicants who had already went through the medical exam process and some already got their visas. :)

ya i also read ur previous posts. it was sad to hear about what she did to u but i think u need to meditate and think about the girl you wanted to be in ur life.ur dreamgirl.. it is not just over night though. ive been dreaming about a man i wanted to be with. i am still young but when it comes to family, love, relationship or marriage, i wanna make sure that everything is right and SURE and i won't regret in the end. when me and Robb met in a dating site we couldnt believe that our profiles matched to who we are looking for. the way he described who he wants is i know it is me and vice versa. but ofcourse u cant tell that he/she is already the one by just reading each profiles.

and so me and robb started to know each other... there may be times that we argue but we make sure that we fix it before we say good bye on skype to sleep.lol. i told him from the very beginning that if it happens that we have an argument, i want us to fix it... we are not perfect couples but we know that we have understandings with each other.

believe me when u try to think thoughtfully about a girl u want to be with, say for example, her qualities/looks, it is more likely that she will be given to u, I tot of a man like who Robb is... and it was given.

I know a girl would feel homesick once she arrives in the US but reading ur previous posts, i think there is something wrong.. either u or her or to both of you. if both of you were able to open up to each other then i guess the more likely that the divorce was prevented. Me and Robb are open to each other., as much as possible I tell him what/how I feel. when something is wrong, i tell it to him. so that he knows what is in my mind and what i feel..

I still think that communication is important in a relationship... knowing ur partner very well.. some don't take time to get to know their partner well but the reality is it takes time to know someone. yes in the beginning it could be like u like each other when u first saw each other but u cannot say that he/she is already the one. like what they said, u will only know the person once u live together in one roof.

and yes, Love urself first before u give love to another.. after that, u r ready to love again. since u said u already know the signs then just be careful. sometimes foreigners tends to be blinded by who they see.. they think ohhh this girl is very kind, etc etc but the truth is, behind everything is a bad intention. but still, it is only you who can tell.. u can fell it and u will know it. there are lots of players online but doesnt mean that there's no one good woman left..

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures2nd Chances For A FIlipina

How is it creepy on how I am looking at it? I mean, I know I didn't have the perfect choice of words in the original post, but I never mentioned anything about wanting just sex. All I did mention was that I want a filipina. The traits that most filipinas have, is exactly what my ideal woman is. That's why I said I want to return to the Philippines and see how things go with someone my friend, who is a filipina and is actually married to one of my friends. I want a woman who is very family oriented and family means alot to them, just as it does to me. I WANT a MEANINGFUL relationship, I do not want 'SOMETHING' like I did this last time to where I just got used for a green card. I am sorry I gave you the creepy vibe by something I tried to correct but you are still hooked on what I said and can't acknowledge or understand what I WAS meaning to say. Out of everyone I know, I am not the guy that is looking for a maid or someone just to have sex with. Sex is meaningless unless you share some type of emotional and/or spiritual connection with. I am 33 yrs old and sex is NOT everything to me. I want someone that I can appreciate who she is, where she comes from, what she wants, and everything she deserves and do my best to make those happen for her, not for what she can give me, but for what I can give her and how I can make her and OUR lives better, now that we found each other...

ABOVE ALL, I DO MY BEST TO RESPECT WOMEN THE BEST MY PARENTS TAUGHT ME, I AM NOT YOUR TYPICAL IGNORANT GUY. I am sorry my originally wording was not perfect.

It's not wise to seek out an assumed stereotype. Family oriented means vastly different things to different people. Prior to finding my Ann I dated women from all over, the one thing I can say is each woman is unique. Race and culture have much less to do with things than people think. Don't assume "traits that most Filipinas have".

It's more than just the wording that is sending red flags.

When did you get divorced? You're other posts look like you have been divorced a very very short time and your already looking for specifically for a Filipina wife.

My friend, take a deep breath, relax, and slow down. Take the time to find the right woman. You haven't mentioned having a girl you have in mind. You're starting with the view of seeking a wife before anything. Be cautious because it seems like that view can set you up for the same mistakes you made before. I don't intend to insult you. I am trying to I am trying to help you prevent another mistake. Most people don't decide they are seeking a wife and narrow it down to just one group before even having a first date.

Are you opening your mind and expanding your possibilities of finding your soul mate or limiting yourself and making assumptions before even saying 'Hi' to the girl.

Before I found Ann, when I first opened my mind to the possibility of a relationship with a woman from outside the US I had come to an epiphany. There are almost 7 billion people on earth, half of them are women, that's 3 billion people. Out of that maybe 1 billion are in an age range to have a relationship with. So if I am seeking my one true love she could be anywhere. My view was to expand my possibilities, not to any one race or country. I had the realization that the perfect woman was not only possible but probable, and I would be her perfect man too. Wider possibilities means it can take years, and for me it did take years to find Ann. Once I found her it was like lightning struck. I fell in love with who she is without all the preconceptions.

Don't look for a wife, don't look for a Filipina, look for lighting to strike. Find the girl who takes your breath away with every simple action. Look for the girl who makes every moment last longer, and makes the mundane a cherished memory.

Do some soul searching first. Look in yourself before seeking your woman. Open your mind to all possibilities rather than setting blinders on a 'Filipina wife'.

Your post raises a lot of questions.

First it sounds less like you're looking for love and more like you shopping for a loaf of bread.

My fiancée, Ann, is Filipina but that is merely coincidence.I am with her because I love her and she loves me. I KNOW her thoughts and feelings almost as clearly as my own. Everything else is secondary.

Why not fall in love with the right woman first. Don't be in such a rush to just marry anyone.

To make an inter-cultural marriage work you need to be MORE open minded not less. You need to want HER because of who she is not what she is.

You sound a little creepy the way you're looking at it. Look past her race and see HER, you will have a better chance of things lasting.

If you're looking for a girl to just be a like a maid, and have sex don't expect it to last long. Pay attention to her heart and mind first, the rest will follow.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F QUESTION NO. 10 MY CITIZENSHIP WAS ACQUIRED THROUGH
thank u for ur response. so we will select "birth in the US instead since he has a birth cert just like what the USC born in the US . and he dont have a BC in Japan.

Born to military parents on a US base abroad, is born on US soil. Okinawa being a territory at the time makes it a sure bet. The birth certificate is key. If it is a foreign government's birth certificate, then it's "parents" but that's not the case here.

Robb&AnnNot TellingPhilippines2012-12-30 00:39:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F QUESTION NO. 10 MY CITIZENSHIP WAS ACQUIRED THROUGH
I am Robb, the guy in question.

I have never had a Japanese birth certificate. Both of my parents are US citizens, both served in the Vietnam War. I was born in Okinawa, a US territory at the time, at the US Army hospital.

For example:

I was born in the same manner as John McCain, and the same form of documentation. The combinations of location, parents, and form of documentation have McCain as a 'natural born citizen'. No one has ever even remotely questioned the legitimacy of McCain's eligibility to run for president. (John McCain was born on August 29, 1936, at CoCo Solo Naval Air Station in the Panama Canal Zone. At that time, the Panama Canal was under U.S. control. Both parents US Citizens, and special documentation.)

While some people have tried to claim Obama was not a 'natural born citizen' even though born to a parent who was a US citizen at the time of his birth, it was suggested that he was not born on US soil. (I'm not getting into a birther debate, just pointing out the difference)

At the time of my birth the US recognized the birth as US soil. Additionally the ONLY place I can get a copy of my birth certificate is from the US Department of State.

My ONLY birth certificate is from the US department of State. The most recent copy signed by Condoleezza Rice.

When filling out any legal form I have been required to state it as US birth. Passports, US Security clearances, etc…

Many other people even born at the same time and area can have a Japanese birth certificate. Many others have a consular report of birth abroad from Naha. I do not.

Mine is from the US Department of State, with a raised US Department of state seal, and signed by the US Secretary of State at the time any copy is made.

Considering the document is from the Department of State, the Department of State is the attached body the US Embassies and I had been advised in prior situations to classify my citizenship documentation as 'US Birth'. I think I am supposed to use what the Department of State told me.

Ya i was intending to reply on a thread and may be i started one by mistake. wasn't intentional.

Relax guys, we have not gotten married yet. i was just asking how would they be able to find out if lets say we get married in Egypt "AFTER" she gets the visa. like even 1 day before she travels to the US...just to make her family satisfied. Which means after the background checks are done and she has the visa. And we still get married in the US again few days after.

and please...no one needs to get defensive here. im just asking for your opinion not your "conscience" .. lol with all do respect to all of course

just dont do it

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBest time for moving?

Hello helpful community of VJ :) ,

I had a simple question to you guys today: What do you think would be the best time for me (the petitioner) to move to a new place and not cause any disruption in my I129F or K-1 process? I've only recently (~1 months ago) received my NoA1, and the idea is that I'd like to move to a new apartment before my fiancee moves to live with me. It's nothing urgent and I can do it whenever I want, and so the flexibility is why I wonder what would be the best time to do it, given the procedures I'd have to go through as a result (and their impact on the overall processing time of the case/visa).

In essence, which of these would be best:

A) Move before I get my NoA2?
B) Wait until I get my NoA2 and move after I get it while my fiancee is taking care of things on her end (paperwork, interview, med. exam, etc...)?
C) Don't move until fiancee gets visa and travels to the US?

All 3 options are viable ones for me, and neither I nor my fiancee would mind either one... But Ideally I'd like to have already settled in a new place before she came, to make the transition easier on her.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I moved into my new place 4 months after i filed my petition. i wanted to get everything ready before my husband enters the US.. i sent him pictures of apartments, floor plans and safe central locations.. we both agreed with the apartment i'm residing. we talked as if he were right beside me, that's what made it fasinating. i want my husband to feel at home, relax after hours of flights and dealing with security clearance at multiple airports. i've been sending him pic of our apartment or when i plan to purchase anything big.. i'm waiting for him to get here so we can pick out new set of couches and possibly our own 60 inch tv.

it's perfectly safe, once you do a change of address online, call uscis in a few days to confirm the change of address. Then your done. Waaah-Laaah

thought i'd reply...

Personally CO could make out he is living in another coutry with disregards to laws of that country and if allowed this person to enter US he would have no regards for US laws either.
To me it would show that this person is not of good character and CO could give him hard time and worst case not grant K1.

i doubt if they based their conclusion on that because your purpose of migrating to the US is to marry your USC fiancee. They can denied you on your previous immigration status if your application to US is for non immigrant purpose.

You can file while in the UK< but you need to be legally resident in the country you are interviewing in (this will be 6+ months later). So if you are currently in the UK illegally, you will need to go home/ to another country where you are legally resident to interview.

Your point of meeting does not as much as if you have NEVER met. It is good you have met twice, hopefully there will be a 3rd meeting before the interview :). You say what happens if the family is not in Nigeria? well it is the same. if your family is not in Nigeria but she has met them wherever they are or you have met hers and have pics with them then i think that should suffice.

What led to the question was because of the thread i read that i want to do my interview in Lagos but my fiancee has never been to Nigeria. The lady said it might be a red flag.so i told her i have met her twice in UK July and December 2011.Took pics with friends and family and she has the financial capacity to be my sponsor.

No its not a problem in the Lagos Consulate as far as you can prove genuine relationship

Is it a problem when you have met your fiancee twice in another country which is not your nationality. As for me i have seen my fiancee twice in the UK took pics with friends and family but she has never been to Nigeria. We schedule our interview in Lagos,i hope we will not be query for the fact she has never been to nigeria.
