IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresInterview for IR1 vs CR1
I am making a guess, but the interview will be the same. It is just that the probablity of them saying "no" will be very small...like not being able to see it small. :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresphotocopy every page of passport?

Hello

We are ready to submit our I-130 petition and my US spouse pulls out his very old and faded birth certificate. I am sure it won't photocopy well. I read another supporting document could be his current passport but do they really need photocopies of every single (both sides) page in his passport??

Help!
Monica

I did photocopy every page of my passport, but te embassy only took the information page. That being said it is ALWAYS better to be over prepared.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWorking with a CR1
Katya got her Green Card a couple of weeks after she arrived. We did need to go to the local Social Security office to get her SS Card though after 4 weeks of waiting. We did do the checkbox on the form at the embassy, but that part seemed to have gotten lost in limbo somewhere. It was a quick trip and she got the card about 4 business days later.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFilling out I-129F and G-325a - is it OK to use a pen?
I used Adobe Acrobat 7.0 (the full version, not Reader). I was able to save and make changes later if I needed too. It also has a 'typewriter' function that lets you type anywhere on the page you need to. My forms looked AWESOME and the people at the embassy thanked me for doing it this way. It was $100.00 for the software, but I just added it to the list of costs I was going to incure to get my wife to the States. I have ended up using the software for other project since then too. Being able to type onto PDFs is just SO handy in today's world.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresleaving the country
Yup. Just her passport and her Green Card. There is one thing though...this is the case ONLY if you go to Canada DIRECTLY from the US....and/or US DIRECTLY from Canada. If, for whatever reason, you go through some 3rd country you will not be able to do it. I doubt that will be your issue though.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTattoos on medical

My now hubby and I got tattoos matching 2 weeks after we first met, and before we were engaged. That kinda sealed the deal for me, that was back in May 2002. Nothing was ever said at my medical.

Okay...that isn't fair. All of these people promoting their tatoos, but only a couple are showing them to the rest of us. Pull out the cameras people! :)

Only slightly related to the thread...I was thinking about it as I read this. I think my wife, Katya, is the first girl I've been with since 8th grade that DID NOT have a tattoo. I hadn't thought of that until now!

Anyways...Joel's random thoughts...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow's this for a mess??

Wow, interesting! I will call to NVC tomorrow and ask if they need me to do this same thing. If so, I need to do it immediately. Thanks alot for the info. I wonder why they kept your case (active?) for so long.

Yeah...I have been reading your story and called one of my friends who is an immigration lawyer. She said that you REALLY should send then the termination in writing. Sometime it gets dropped just like you would think after a year or more and othertimes not.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiance Visa vs Marriage Visa
This is personal opinion, but I am a BIG fan of DCF. Not all embassies offer it though. And if they do they might not offer it for all of the visas. The down side it the money involved in flying to and fro. The up side is that you get to see your sweetie a bit more then waiting Stateside.
