After having went the K-1 route b/c lawyer advised it was faster (at the time), if I had to do it over again I would have gone the marriage route.  First, you and your spouse will share the memories of this family event forever.  Second, the time from date of marriage will count toward your Adjustment of Status - and you will receive your green card that much sooner. There have been some limited reports of success, though, the probability of success is certainly not very high. At least with an RFE notice there is a reference point as to the location of the information-deficient petition at the service center, and a higher likelihood of matching the missing document to the correct petition.
