Yahoooooooo! Keep that positive mind going Looky, thats a must in this process  your NOA2 will come on a perfect time, 3rd week of June or first week of July maybe? Im no psychic but I can feel it.

Im still waiting for our case number, nothing yet. July slots are running out. Dang!

Yeah, no doubt you'll be in the finish line before me! :D

Thanks Kish, you're no psychic but you can feel it! Cool, but isn't that what psychics do, they just feel it! :P Yes you're probably right on the time frame. July slots are running out? You getting that info from NVC trying to assign you a case number, just curious?

Good luck to all March filers. I file on February 28 and got NOA1 dated March 4. so am a March filer

Welcome and good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMarch 2011 Filers..

If my hair was long enough I'd be braiding (does it help the time go fast?). I've been sitting down here in NZ for nearly 7mths since I saw my other half and I've been writing lately - so all is not lost...I've been wanting to do some serious writing for years...

Well we were all crossing our fingers and toes for wishing to get approved quickly. Then the only other thing that we seemed to agree on was crossing our hair, and thats where the braiding comes in! So you don't really need long hair you just need to twist them together to bring you good luck and NOA2! B-) Yeah its been almost 10 months since I've seen my woman and plan to go when she has her interview. So hopefully thats just a few short months from now.

Well really, the real reason time goes fast for me is that I got a new job after I visited her and most of my days are spent with my mind in that so I never hardly have too much time to think about the visa. Also when I talk to her we're just laughing about other stuff and never dwell on how long its going to take.

Hows everybody? Is braiding still the trend? :D

Have a happy weekend. I hope next week will give us good news!

Can't speak for anybody else but I've hit the 3 month mark and happy as a bee with my hair braided! Thats quite alright if my NOA2 comes a month or so later than yours cause I've got a ton to do and moving to a new apartment and all. Also my embassy is faster than yours so I still may beat you to the finish line!

Has anyone seen a VSC approval for today (as 6/9)?

P.S 11:43 pm 06/09 in here

It seems most people don't post approvals.

According to this 25 VSC approvals so far this week.

Hi Looky,
No such thing as a white Christmas here unless you want to go climbing in the mountains at least 4 hours further south from where I live, and its pretty rocky with slushy melting snow at this time of the year. I have had a white Christmas a couple of times in Canada many years ago and it was pretty amazing.

Nice to know you and Loreta are getting back on track and she is feeling better. Hope the interview is close and you can be together soon. (F)

Thanks Andie, actually whats funny is that we're not really off schedule, our plan was always for me to bring her and the dog over to America around late spring or early summer cause I know it'd be a bit of a shock to her system to go right from a warm climate to winter.

I wrote the email to the embassy to request an interview around the 20th of January or later. Funny they want to keep everything we and they write in one email and so far the email has become more than 7 pages! Oh they're giving her a little heat for missing the interviews, sort of like they don't believe she was sick! I had to write a paragraph or two in response explaing why they are wrong!

@Looky--You are welcome. Yes, things are wonderful with Inday here. Among holiday festivities, we have been busy working on wedding planning. Decided to do it up "big" within the 90-day time frame. Initially discusssed doing justice of the peace option soon after Inday's arrival then take time planning big celebration later. However, decided we wanted to later in life look back and remember the festivities and the ceremony on the same day and realized we could do it because Inday and I are both orbganizers and overchievers anyway plus wedding planning is a good way to currently occupy much of Inday's time (not that she ever has trouble thinking of a million projects to do!!!)
I hope things are continuing to be OK for Loreta. Also hope that you are both able to enjoy the holiday season.

--RK

RK, sounds like you and Inday have got big plans coming soon, congratulations!!!

Yes we're enjoying the holidays as much as we can. We've gotten to talk to each other for over a week now and it makes all the difference in the world for both of us and we're both happy! She had to move from the last place that she was living, and after seeing the place, I'm glad cause that other place was downright dangerous. I know the place she's at now and its much better!

I asked her to call the embassy and she talked to somebody there about getting a new interview. The guy mostly asked why she missed the past interviews and said to send them an email. Mostly I wanted her to call so that she would get a little more comfortable with talking to them, and realize that there's nothing to be nervous about. Also I wanted her to call to dispel the notion they seemed to be building up that she might not want to go to America!

I'll send the email to the embassy asking for another interview date once I talk to Loreta again to see if she needs more than a week or two before the interview.

Good to hear you and Inday are celebrating and enjoying your new lives together!

I haven't been able to keep up with everybody but just wanted to say as we approach the Christmas Holiday - most of the March filers seem to be where they want to be now and those of us who have not achieved that yet are hanging on. One month of summer down here in NZ already gone, so far mostly rain

Anyway.. to you all Happy Holidays and best wishes wherever you are team.

(Looky, very best of wishes to you and Loreta and I'll be watching here to read some good news.)

Andie

Happy holdays and best wishes to everybody, Merry Christmas or whatever you celebrate.

I never thought about it before Andie its summer for you over in NZ so then you have never had a white Christmas over there??? Well then its a good thing Santa's reindeer fly or his sleigh would never work without snow on the ground!

Thanks Andie, things seem fine for Loreta right now, I want to give her time to relax and ease her mind before I can say much else. Best wishes to you and I hope Santa drops your wish come true down the chimney! (F)

Looky, thanks for the update and glad the embassy seems to be understanding of the situation or very willing to take into account all the extenuating circumstances. Mostly, wishing the best for Loreta and her health. Keeping Loreta and you in prayer and thought. --RK

Thank you so much RK. I am thinking this last incident was a remnant from that taxi accident. She was still getting a little dizzy and some headaches. It didn't help that when she booked her flight the agent made a mistake and her connecting flight in Frankfurt was the next day. That freaked her out when they told her at Frankfurt that there were no flights to Cyprus that day. She went to her mothers home in Latvia fearing that she may lose her memory. However, unfortunately she didn't lose her memory at home but at the connectiing airport, which was the really scary part.

Of course its too early to say but so far she feels pretty good, and having her dog with her calms her down enormously.

Yes the Embassy has been quite understanding and also I've been doing a bit of pleading our case with them via email. Fortunately for us its a relatively quiet Embassy and much more personal than most.

We are also keeping our fingers crossed that maybe the third time is the charm. Thanks for the support RK. Hope all is working out great for Inday and you.

I explained it all to the embassy in email and mentioned that this time I will ask Loreta to call them to discuss things with them, once she is feeling up to it after all she has gone through, and also request another interview. Also I asked if this was acceptable.

They responded back, in email the next day ( today ) saying that they are looking forward to talking with Loreta!

A big thank you to you too Andie. Loreta is back in Cyprus. She does not recall having an operation so the indirect info was wrong. She had a very high fever and before she knew it she was out like a light at Frankfurt airport. She lost her memory after that and didn't remember anything. She was at a clinic there and then an old German couple that takes care of orphaned children took her in. She reminded them of a daughter they once had.

I spoke to her today and right now she is busy trying to get her dog back from the doggy hotel. The place she was living in did not hold her room, so now she will be moving which is fine with me cause the instant I saw the place she was living at I wanted her in a better place than that dump. She is recovering and a bit full of nerves but I think will improve. Also she still does want to do the interview just needs a little time to calm down and settle from the craziness.

Looky, you just need to get her HOME with you! No more crazy drama for the two of you please!!!! It's just not FAIR for you guys to continue to have these roadblocks thrown up....

Thanks Thea, I am trying my best. I think she should be free now to travel home now, if she feels strong enough. I would love to go to Germany and help her to Cyprus but with no direct way to communicate I am afraid that we might cross each others path again ( as in, I might go to Frankfurt while she is on her way to Cyprus ). She and I don't want anymore drama either, I'm just a little bit afraid that maybe her health is failing more and more so I can't guarantee no more drama. But I am a fighter and so is she and I will find a way to make it happen as long as she holds on.

Thanks for your support Thea, unfortunately I think only time can tell on this one, and how she feels about everyting after recovering from her operation.

Best wishes for you both, and a smooth recovery for Loreta

Thanks Dante and Geor and RK_and_Inday,

She is in Frankfurt, so her phone does not work from there. Hopefully soon she will not be so weak that maybe she will be able to get around to contacting me somehow. Its hard to know what really happened to her to get her in this situation. This relative of hers has not yet given me the address and phone of this clinic and it seems to me the relative is trying to help Loreta but at the same time wanting some money out of it, which is making dealing with this a little frustrating.

Greetings to all March 2011 Filers:

Inday successfully entered U.S.A. on morning of Thanksgiving Day!!!!!! Will be dropping by/monitoring this thread for awhile, of course, but will likely start focusing on AOS thread which Thea includes a link for in her last post above. Still will be continually thinking of all March 2011 filers yet to follow with POE; much sucess is wished to all!!!

--RK and Inday

@Looky: interview was to be 26th if I recall correctly. How have things fared for you and your fiancee so far?

@Thea: welcome to U.S.A!!!!

--RK

Congratulations Thea welcome the the US and best wishes!

Congratulations RK on Indays arrival and best wishes.

Well Loreta and my story continues to be an adventure. A major problem happened on her way from Latvia to Cyprus. At the time all I got was a text message from her saying that she was in Frankfurt ( the connecting airport ), she got sick, couldn't find her flight but she will try to (msg cut off) that was Nov 18th. So all I could do was go to Cyprus on the 26th and hope she will be there or show up by that time or at least before the Dec 2nd interview date. But no dice and her parents think she was in Cyprus meanwhile her friends say she is in Latvia.

I changed my flight to leave on the 3rd. Just outside the airport I got a call from somebody saying Loreta was in the hospital. To make a long story short, through a friend I just made over there, who was fluent in Russian, I have found out that she had to have some sort of gynelogical operation in Frankfurt. Also nobody paid for the operation so she is stuck there until its paid for.

Loreta was quite sick and even felt like or tried killing herself. I'm doing what I have to, to get the money to her and also been updating the embassy in hopes that they will reschedule it, when I have some clue.

So can't say anything for sure and haven't had any direct contact with her since the 18th. The only contact is indirectly through some sort of relative of Loreta and this friend I made in Cyprus just this past week.

Looky, Carolina--You are very welcome. Am now excitedly preparing for Inday's arrival in U.S. I am praying that all goes well with Inday's final packing, preparations, flight, and POE arrival. A lot to do, to think about and to pray about. Looky, glad you are able to have better phone connections and best wishes for your fiancee's continuing recovery. Very glad to hear of your wonderful wedding, Carolina-sounds like a dream come true! --RK

Congrats RK the moment you have been waiting for is coming fast!!! Actually I'm flying to go see Loreta and go to the interview with her on the 26th so I'm excited too! Yeah we've been enjoying the phone connection cause we get to talk at least everyday and she is pretty much back to normal!

Enjoy!!!

@Looky--very glad to hear from you and most especially glad that things are looking on the "up" side! Wishing Loreta continuing good recovery and also advance good wishes for safe travel and meeting on the 26th. --RK

Thanks RK and wow, a fabulous day coming for you also!!!

Everything is going well for Loreta, she has some sort of low blood pressure or blood flow problem. She's been meaning to get laser surgery done on her leg veins and we decided its best for her to do it now so that it can only help her blood flow. So she had that done today and I expect she will be recovering even better.

The phone networks are much better there in Latvia so I get to talk to her everyday, as opposed to Cyprus where I can talk to her usually at most twice a week. So we're both happy and I can tell she is in a very good mood and all is great!

Thanks for the wishes! I expect many of us here will have quite a lot to be thankful for, this Thanksgiving and Christmas and all!!!

For us a crisis seems to have been averted. Loreta was getting scared last week cause she felt very weak and had incidents where she would wake up completely disoriented and didn't know where she was (she did looose her memory 4 or so years ago for nearly 9 months). Her friend from her hometown in Latvia suggested she fly over there with her and see a doctor there. She's in Latvia now getting home cooked meals and all. She had analysis done on her head and they did see some areas where the injuries took place but saw she is healing normally. She's also feeling much better with no dizziness or temporary memory loss. Everything is still a go for us to meet back in Cyprus on the 26th.

Looky--I knew something was awry when I didn't see you posting here on VJ about the time I headed for the Philippines. I have just read the posts over the last two weeks or so describing how your fiancee had been in a car accident on the way to the interview. I am incredibly sorry to hear that this occurred; however, I was glad to read that Loreta seems to be getting better, at least headed in a positive direction. More than that I am impressed, as always, by your ability to look at the situation with a positive perspective. It has been said although we may not be able to change how people behave towards us or even though we may not be able avoid certain events in life that happen to us, we at least still have the ability to choose our own attitude towards those persons and choose our own attitudes/perspectives in considering those life events. Your own perspectives I know are now and will go ever-farther in strengthening the bond between you and your fiancee. Although the circumstances are unfortunate, I am glad that you have been able to schedule a visit with your fiancee and I know doing so will do worlds of good for her continuing improved health as well. Prayers and best wishes to/for you both now and continuing. --RK

Congratulations RK and Inday on your Visa and soon you will reap the rewards of being together in America very soon!!!

RK thanks so much for all your prayers and words of support. Well neither Loreta or I focus on whats happened in the past. I have seen enough of what life can throw at you, both bad and good and all I know now is that focusing on the bad will get you no where. But if you just deal with and fight the challenges that face you eventually you'll be in a better position then you'ld ever thought you would be.

But actually we're in pretty good shape, for all thats happened and it could have been sooooo much worse. I hate to imagine what would have appened if she hit the window any harder! But thank God she's still alive, still has her memory and is recovering! Also I feel lucky that we're still in the race for this visa. Her interview is on the 2nd of December and I'll be there with her. Loreta still has some headaches and dizziness but its not getting any worse, and she'll go back to see the doctor on Friday for a check up.

YAY Looky! Flight booked! She'll be so glad to be with you again, I'm sure. I'm glad she's doing better, and once you two are together the wait for the interview will be way easier. And that's a long time apart, but you guys are strong. Just a little more wait and everything will be fine.

So, my last week in Brazil. I'm getting nervous about everything but it's all good, I just want this to be over, I hate dealing with saddness and the goodbye. I hope the day we leave, everything stays fine. Ugh, this process it's so unfair, at some point somebody's gonna get hurt  ...I wish it was different. Anyway..How's everyone? Hope all is well.

Thanks Carolina! Thats so true about how many things that you will miss and how many changes you will have to get used to. Its funny I don't read about this too much in here. I guess everybody is so focused on getting to America that they don't think too much about all the changes they will have to face. I don't really know much about the transportation system in Brazil, but in Europe most people are used to just hopping on a bus, trolley or train to get around, but most places in America you need a car to get anywhere. You'll also be in a different world with so much to get used to. Hopefully Matthew will be able to make it as easy for you as possible. I mean I've already made a lot of changes so Lorets won't find it so tough, like I moved to a place where she can walk to the mall, keep her dog, and changed my work schedule so I would have more time to spend with her and be able to come home to eat lunch woth her and stuff like that so I don't leave her alone for so long.

Anyway good luck with it all Carolina, but you and Matthew can find the big things that were missing in both your lives (F)

Hey Looky... things are looking on the up and up for Loreta. Dec 02 is pretty close. It all sounds like a good plan.

Thanks Andie, yes I think her health and our relationship has just been getting ever stronger and stronger, so after a decade, whats a few months anyway! B-)

I believe your relationship has been for nearly as long. So even though the Visa process may take us longer we have an advantage over most. We don't have to worry about whether our relationships can stand the test of time, while most couples are relatively new to each other and will have to build theirs up, while I think both our relationships have gone through the hardest parts and withstood the test of time already.

I leave for Cyprus in the evening of November 25th so I'm psyched!!! :D

@Looky, I'm glad Loretta is doing better, hope she recovers more and more. Well, December 2nd it's not bad at all. And much better now that you can plan on going there to be with her :)

Thanks Carolina, yes I think Loreta is getting better. We think there must be some swelling in her head thats causing pressure to some area that makes her dizzy sometimes, when she walks around. She also has had problems with low blood pressure in the past. Anyway she's going to see a doctor soon. Everything is fine, I am so glad she didn't loose her memory as its happened to her a few times in the past, and that would have ruined this whole process.

At this point a few months does not matter to us, December 2nd is just fine, but even after getting the Visa, we'll get her to the US at the start of Spring, late March early April cause we don't want her to transition from exterme hot weather to extreme cold weather, all of a sudden. So yes we definitely need to see each other cause its been almost one and a half years now.

Yes I've been looking for flights since yesterday and finally found the one. I'll just wait till I can talk to her and then book it! B-)

Today we are getting social security cards and more shots. We have the shot records from the UK and the list of what the medical inspector told us, so we ought to be fine. Once we get the shots then we search for a civil surgeon to transcribe the data to the right paper for AOS.

I wish we had insurance already. The kids! Oh my they are 5 and 6 and in the 2 weeks they have been here we already had a nasty fall (no broken bones but lots of scuffs), a dump on the head, a bite from a dog, and a finger in a mousetrap. Of course we TELL the kids about the mousetrap, we SHOW them what it does, but of course one of them always has to figure it out on their own!

School starts back up on the 25th so we will be ready for that. The kids want Halloween so that's a plan.

We're doing family things, we have never been so happy. VJ made the move entirely painless and we knew what to expect every step of the way as a result. Onward!

Congratulation Aorobert, good to hear things are going good for the family! Kids will be kids though and thats the way it is.

Thanks Andie ;) , I forgot I'm also going to add that I am 49 and she is 36 now so we've matured quite a bit since we first met.

Hi Looky, no.. not yet :(
He has all sorts of complications at the moment, it is almost ready.

I hope Loreta is continuing to do well.

Hi Andie oh thats too bad, I hope he can get to it soon for your sake cause I can imagine all this being quite frustrating.

Yes Loreta's doing much better. The dizziness is just about gone and the pain from her cracked rib seems to be gone. Oh and I talked to her to see if she has any records from the hospital and actually she does have a receipt for the 5 extra nights that she stayed in the hospital.

I'm about to write my email to the embassy. I'll write first of all that Loreta's answer was that she only wants to immigrate to the US to be with me and to marry me. Then I'll explain that we have known each other for almost 9 and a half years. We have gone through up and down periods, especially around 3 years ago where we quit communicating for almost 6 months but then her attitude completely changed toward me and she appreciates me more than ever and so for the last 2 years there has not been absolutely any question whether she wants to come to the US and marry me.

I think that should be good enough to take that question out of her mind? Good enough Andie?

Congratulations Carolina!

Looky, so sorry to hear what has happened but wishing you all the best and prayers for a speedy recovery for your Loreta. Things will all work out for you guys very soon, after all 3rd time's a charm!

Congratulations to everyone else who has been approved, gotten through POE, gotten married or has any other reason to celebrate!

Good luck to those who have interviews coming up - RJ and Inday I know yours is Wednesday!

My fiance's interview is in Vancouver Wednesday! I'm packing my bags as we speak...get on the plane tomorrow...I get to see him after 5 long months...God I am nervous, this is the moment we have been working towards for 2 1/2 years. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, I will post when I get back.

Good luck Mimi, relax and enjoy cause you're one step closer to being with Sean permanently.
Oh and thanks, this time will be the charm no doubt. You know they couldn't make up a movie better than our script! You know why it failed 4 years ago, its cause of a past tall policeman boyfriend who was married but still had his eyes on Loreta, and the fact that she owed him money.

Hi Looky, good to hear that Loreta is improving - a bad bump to the head can be really scary and it takes a little while for things to come right. Concussion and injuries are no picnic!

Interesting to hear of the CO's comments. I don't remember if Loreta had contacted the embassy prior to the accident, but maybe they sensed some hesitation. I don't see that as being unusual and in fact probably pretty common. The situation is really about being together and one party has to give up their home, friends and family which is never easy. Unless that person is in a really miserable situation, there is always going to be an element of hesitation or sadness at leaving those people and the life they know. If Loreta has a doctor's report of some sort, it may be worth taking it to the interview in case that comes up. My best wishes to you and Loreta (F).

Thanks Andie, how are you and Kevin doing, got your new petition in? Yes this concussion was scary cause until yesterday she was hesitant to walk around for getting dizzy and all, but she felt ok with it while walking with the dog in the mornings and evenings when it was cool outside.

This was the same CO that was there when we tried 4+ years ago when Loreta did not go to that interview. Also I did tell them in my first email that she had not made it to that past interview. So I can understand the CO being skeptical. But thats ok we have a solid explanation for all this and I will mention them in my email. Also I will be going to the interview with Loreta and this consulate is very small and personal so you get discussions that you wouldn't get at other consulates.

Visa in Hand!!!! , now time to fly back home, idk when though lol probably in 1 or 2 weeks

Anyway, Looky, that's some good news, I hope she recovers soon, and I'm sure she will. Are you thinking about going there? I bet she'd love to see you, that would also help her recover soon  Best wishes for Loretta (F)

How's everyone else? Hope all is good :)

I'm going to go there for about 1.5 to 2 weeks near interview time. Want to save vacation for when she is actually here in the US.

I called the embassy for a new interview. Ended up talking to the CO and she threw me a loaded question for me to ask Loreta. 'Does she want to immigrate to the US?' Then she said get back to us and then they'll schedule the interview.

Funny, what was she implying? Did she not believe that Loreta was in an accident? Did she think Loreta wanted to marry me just to immigrate to the US? Did she think Loreta was just toying with me? Well don't know but, Loreta's answer is that she only wants to immigrate to the US to marry and be with me.

Visa on its way, I emailed the embassy and called the post office, it already left the post office and probably tomorrow or monday it'll be here in my hands
Then we'll book the flights, get a huge suitcase for me lol  and pack!! :luv: Ahhh this wait for the visa, it's so nice, we're just enjoying our time here in Brazil before I leave, it's hard for my family, I know.. but all will be fine, new life has to begin :)

How's everyone? Looky, how's your fiancee? hope she's okay and recovering fast (F)

I wish you all good luck, and happiness :star:

Congratulations Carolina, you and Matthew together forever, cool!!!

Well I think Loreta is slowly getting better. When she's lying down she doesn't get dizzy now or vomit, but the big test is if she can walk around for a bit without gettting dizzy. I think we'll find that out this weekend. Its been 2 weeks so she obviously took a good blow to the head. We're thinking about trying for a November interview date. Thanks!

Looky, I'm sorry all of that happened to your fiancee, I'll keep you two in my prayers. Wishing that she can recover fast, and everything works fine for you guys. Please keep us updated (F)

Thanks Carolina, whats important is that she's ok. As of yesterday she was still vomiting, had a problem opening one eye, and slight problem hearing with one ear. I think all thats due to swelling. Its ok we're not in a rush, we'll take the time for her to heal and also get this right. Its already been too long since I've seen her, I think I need to go over there for 2 weeks or so when the time for the new interview comes.

What a relief Looky. As you say, could have been so much worse. I'm so glad that you have been able to talk with her and I hope she improves quickly and you can get on with your plans.

Thanks Andie, yeah definitely quite a relief. All the posibilities of what could have happened have been going through my mind for the last week, and none of them good, and then all of a sudden we're back in the game!

Well right now I'm thinking I'll go over there once we can figure out the new interview date.
The thing is I think by that time its going to start getting a bit cooler here. She's gotten so used to the extremely hot weather living in Cyprus that I'm sort of worried she won't feel good transitioning to the autumn/winter climate here. Its probably a better idea for me to bring her and the dog over around the middle of March or so cause then she'll get to ease into the weather here and her mood will be much better than if she felt like she was freezing to death all the time.

****************************************************************

Oh by the way congratulations to everybody, so many good things going on here, interviews, fights to America, marriages and all!!! I know I haven't been paying attention but I'm happy for you all!
