K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	March 2011 Filers..	We sent our original packet in January, and the forms we had used then were still valid then, but upon resending them, we never rechecked that they were still okay. They did phone and ask us to resend in a few things, with new dates as the old ones were no longer valid. This is how we know they have them. He spent ages on the phone today, most of it telling them that he was the petitioner, as they kept telling him that they would only talk to the petitioner, and even after telling them he was, they told him the petitioner needed to make the call, and were they there with him? Sounded like a fun time to hear him tell it! After all that, he was told that sometimes they don't cash the cheque, and if they were waiting for additional info, that would explain why, as they generally cash it after 30 days. (I know, I know, on here that timeline is WAY off) They told him that he needs to wait a minimum of 60 days before panicking. He's not so good at waiting, and plans on making nice with his local senator's office, as it seems we're gonna need one. As to them never phoning, I already went over that in another thread, and it seems sometimes they do. We have all the luck. Well thats good to hear then. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	March 2011 Filers..	That's really bad luck that it happened to you twice. You should call and go into it. As long as the don't cash the check you don't get a casenumber. We had an unhappy start too in january, but it was our mistake, we wrote the wrong amount on the check (430 $ instead of 340 $), and they resended to whole packet to us, so we had to start again with a correct check. Therefore I wonder what's up with your case, if there would be something wrong with the check they would resend it to you. If nobody can give you answers on this hotline ask for a tier 2 officer. Best wishes! Oops I meant to reply to Stuart and Thea. First, its just too strange that USCIS would call you. Pardon me if I'm being suscpicious, but you're getting this info from your fiance right? That is just too strange and I've never before heard of a that! Also its strange that your check didn't cashed, you didn't get NOA1 and this is the second time this happened. You're the beneficiary right? You should post in the main forum so that you might get more responses. Post with something like, 'Have you ever gotten a call from USCIS?' Good Luck! I received my NOA on March 22, 2011 but when I check our status, it is pretty vague and I have no clue if anyone has even looked at it yet! I saw that one member in this thread posted something with these two milestones: April 5, 2011 info pass appointment April 15, 2011 biometrics appointment How do you find out if you application is actually being looked at or if it has started going through the background check process? Unfortunately nobody really knows whats happening with their application The Info Pass Appointment is an appointment scheduled by the member, but they don't tell you much either. Most of us are closing in on the 2 months mark. For the lucky among us only 3 months till NOA2! So how goes in here, whats the count? So far I think we've got 2 NOA2s, 29 NOA1s Touches: 2 ? RFEs: 2 ? NOA1s: 29 NOA2s: 2 So (just guessing) I'd say at least 20 of us might get their NOA2s by the end of 3 months from now. The other unfortunate ones will have a few more months to wait. We got ANOTHER phone call today, still from Dallas, asking me to provide another set of photos, a new intent to marry and another T-325A. Has anyone ever heard of having to redo and resend everything like this? I'm wondering if there's a problem. I'm hoping it's only the dates on them being too long ago, as we had sent originally in January, and resent again in March, maybe they want newer pictures? Stuart spent a few hours on the phone with them today over it, mostly on hold, but still... I just want everything to go smoothly, now I'm scrambling to redo the whole package and have Stuart send it out to them again.... No I never heard of anything like this! Makes one wonder if they screwed up/damaged your paperwork or something. Some of the forms can expire, but you can only tell by comparing the expiry dates on them with whats on the USCIS forms page. Not sure why, as that's supposed to be sent to me to send along later, but yes, he filed the I-129F, and I couldn't tell you why they called, but they did, and asked for this year's return instead, which he's scrambling to get done and send in asap. It sounds weird, right? Well thats good! Still if you got a call I thought the Califonia Service Center would be more likely to do it than Dallas. Still no NOA1, or email about it, but we did get what I'll call an RFE, Stuart got a phone call from Dallas asking for this year's tax return, as last year's (which we had sent in January the first time) was too far out of date. We hadn't even thought of putting the new one in! I NEVER thought they'd PHONE us!!! At least we know they have it, even though we don't have a number, or know where they're gonna send it to!!! YAY!!! (Still no reply about the one we sent in January though... it's just MIA) Did he check the back of your cashed check, sometimes they stamp your case number there also. They asked you for a tax return? With the I-129F application? He must have sent the I-134 affidavit of support with it, which isn't really needed with the I-129F, but you'll need that for your future interview. Why would Dallas call you? Am I the only one without online tracking? Indiank1, it might be worth calling up the Customer Service Center, the 375 number at the bottom of your NOA1, and see what they tell you. I know you decided in your wisdom to test our patience by making our original packet that was sent in January disappear. I think you will find that we were very patient, and waited and waited and waited, just like we were told to whenever we could get through on the line, which wasn't often. We're sorry, but we can only be patient for so long, and we're deciding to start over, and sent in another packet. So, please please please, send us an NOA1 so that we can have proof of your existence! Make us into true believers oh mighty USCIS! Yeah that does suck big time!!! Hopefully your check wasn't cashed the first time? One of the first things they do is cash your check cause they'll take your money without question. I express mailed mine to the Lewisville, TX address so I could track my package. If you sent it by regular mail you should have sent it to the Dallas address, cause the mail sorting system has changed, and if you send it to CSC or VSC directly you would have a lot more faith in governments ability to get it right than I do. But anyway look for your check to be cashed or email if you sent the email notification receipt request within the next week or two hopefully. Fingers crossed, good luck! You should get it this time! Hi, yes, if you don't get the email somebody might have overlooked that form that told them to send email notification to you. The hard copy definitely will have the number on it. Don't know whether its worth the email to start trying to go thru the hassle of trying to deal with the customer service center. Especially since you'll probably get the hard copy soon enough. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	March 2011 Filers..	Anyway, quick question: is it a must to have the hard copy of the NOA1? I am overseas and I suppose they sent the hard copy to my address in Chicago. But, my old landlord (who lives in the building and gets all of my mail) has not seen anything. Do I need this hardcopy in the future? I assume it's the hardcopy of the I-129F approval letter that is needed for K-1 processing. I think NOA1 is just for your information, that they've received your papaerwork and are beginning to process it. NOA2 is your I-129F approval and probably good idea to make copies of that and send one to your fiancee along with the paperwork and originals of the evidence for the I-129F. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	March 2011 Filers..	Still can't track the case yet. Mailed on 2/28/2011. Cash checked on 3/10/2011. Email/Text received on 3/10/2011 as well. Anyone experiencing same problem. I would think that the guy who is handling your case at the VSC has to enter it into the system cause thats when your case goes into 'Initial Review'. So you don't really know what the delay is, but give it a few weekdays and you should be fine. I am out of town, so I am not sure if I received NOA1 hard copy yet. Your check will usually be cashed first. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	agent can be petitioner?	Hi again, I have another quick question: can the petitioner (in this case my USC husband) be the agent of choice? On the Department of State webpage it says that the agent can be the applicant (me) but I do not live in the US yet, whereas my husband has still an address there... Thanks I think the answer is yes, but this is the K-1 Visa section, so can't tell you for certain. Is it possible to cancel my application for a K1? I filed the application about 3 weeks ago. I received an NOA1. Can I write a simple letter, requesting that it be cancelled? And actually, as I write, my fiance should be on a bus headed to his medical exam Thanks for the info Another question, when the cases goes to NVC, they issue them a number that will be used by the consulates. Did you get that # with your NOA2? Edit:typo My NOA2 didn't have any such number on it.
