I can tell you have a strong personality. So whatever the loops and hoops you have to go through, one thing for sure is you will be home victorious. :)

We are still waiting for our case number. We'll try to call NVC again. I heard there are no available slots for June interview, so we'll probably have our appointment by July. I hope everything will turn out good for us, to you and to all fellow March filers. :)

Yup we are all wishing for miracles, but will settle for NOA2s! I'm just happy I got to talk to my fiance today, yesterday I couldn't get a phone connection and it set my mood off. We can only talk on the weekends cause the silly Cyprus cell network is awful.

But now I got to talk to her early in the morning and hopefully will reach her in the afternoon! Thats enough to keep me happy right now!

OMG,OMg so i decided to check my status today on USCIS website, my heart was pounding, my hands were sweating..lol..But it still showing initial review..I will check it again end of the month....lol..


Hmmmm that is quite strange, I would think ones heart would pound and hands sweat and they shout out OMG OMG only when something different happens, like if their status moves to something other than that dreaded Initial Review! :blink:

No I didn't expedite. I just made an appointment through InfoPass, all they did was gave me her Alien Number and told me I should wait for my NOA2 they just dind't tell me when though :unsure:
But what I don't understand is why she already has an Alien Number :unsure: :unsure:


When you get your NOA2 her alien number will be on it. Its part of the process where they have to assign the beneficiary an Alien number. I would think they give every beneficiary one at the start so I don't think it says anything about how long you will have to wait, unfortunately.

Hello march filers. On may 31st, I received some news--but not very favorable news. It looks like we have an RFE. The anticipation is killing me because I am overseas. I have to wait for someone at my US address to open my mail when (if) it gets to my US address (the change of address form is not so clear for citizens who are living abroad).

Anyway, I hope it's not too bad--I guess it's better than getting a rejection letter. All in all, I'm happy that the process is actually moving in a very timely manner.

I really wonder what the hell this RFE is about.


Hopefully the RFE is easy to take care of. If you don't get the hard copy I would call the service center and see if you can verify the address they have on you and if they can tell you what the RFE was and/or resend the hard copy. You might have to ask for a tier 2 person cause most of the time the lower level ones just give you canned info. Good luck!

Oh my god OH MY GOD!!!!!

I went on the USCIS site to check my status, which is something I only just started doing like a week ago. The first thing I saw was that the date was 'May 31' so I figured, this is a 'touch'! Then I looked up and saw Post-Decision Activity. THIS IS MY NOA2!!!!!!!!!!!! :o :blink: :D

I'm so excited because I REALLY hope this means March filers are going to be hearing back very soon!

Yeah, I feel like there are certain things you just can't change, no matter how badly you want them, because 'it is what it is'. And I think that if anything is gonna change at all in any situation, it will be through actions, not wishing. A combination of both is good, because then you're taking the steps toward something while keeping yourself motivated and positive by hoping it will happen. But yeah, some stuff is out of our hands, like the visa process. But that's just the way my brain works! I'm going to wish just as hard as everyone else that we'll get 2 NOA2s in June! Woohoo!

The hardest part for me (besides being away from the person I love, of course) isn't the waiting, it's the fact that we're waiting in the dark. If the USCIS was like, "your petition is in box #568.3 which will be opened on August 15th" I could deal with it, because I'd know how long the wait would be. Unfortunately, the reality of it is that I could be approved tomorrow, or next month, or the end of the summer. That's the frustrating part. <_<

I'm so glad we have a nice sense of community in this thread! :D



Yes you're right. dreams just don't come true by day dreaming about them, you have to back them up by going and physically chasing them and working toward making them happen. Yeah I often think it would be much better if USCIS sort of gave us some real hint of where we are in the process but to tell you the truth I've sort of become numb to the frustration. I'm 49 now and I feel like life is just full of frustration and waiting and the only way to really enjoy life is to not worry about getting to the goal so much as enjoying the journey to the goal as much as you can. No matter what I do I am pretty much enjoying it and laughing with things with friends and my fiance all the time. Its very rare that when I'm with her or talking to her that we are not laughing about something. Also I've been waiting for her for a while, almost 9 years now, so for me its like, what is another couple of months.

Yeah this thread does have a nice communtiy and I notice that our thread is almost double in activity compare to for instance the February thread, but that may change as they are starting to get NOA2s which certainly give a spark of life to threads!

have you seen the documentary "the secret"? the one that says the universe works on quantic physics (dunno if i spelled that right). if you set yourself for dissapointment you will be. i tried those things on myself many times, if you wish something very strong it will happen. if you say you'll get the visa late you'll get it late. i always tell to myself ill get it faster than i should. there's nothing bad in wanting something very bad :D


Well I sort of agree cause if you work at things hard you will become successful, but maybe not exactly in the way you wanted. But when it comes to wanting something to happen exactly when you want it to, well somehow I don't think so.

There's nothing wrong in wanting something very badly, but at some point you just have to stop and say, well that just wasn't in the cards for me. Take for example how many people in the world wanted to be rock stars, cowboys, pilots, astronauts, millionaires, president etc and how many had that actually come true! :lol:

But I was just talking about the time frame that your NOA2 get approved. Well lets ask the crowd. Ok everybody lets all wish and want really really hard that you get your NOA2 in June! Alright lets prove DeeDees right and pull out at least 2 NOA2s next month! Agreed? :dance:

The long wait of the process doesn't bother me either. What I don't like is having to be a part from him, missing him each and every day that sometimes I'm overwhelmed with this emptiness in my chest. I wish we have the resources to fly back and forth to see each other. But we must prepare for our future together, so we need to get our $&@ to work.


Very true, but there's nothing we can do but wait that part out. We're doing this to end this constant long distance vacuum that keeps our hearts and lives on hold. The best thing you can do is be strong for our partner and help them through it too. Remember we're talking months, not years and the relationships that can endure these times will be stronger relationships for it. It will all have been worth it when you finally be together. (F)

I was so behaving those last 2 weeks... wouldn't check USCIS all the time, only VJ.. :innocent: ... But now, I get even nervous checking it lol Seeing the timeline changing, and seeing all the approvals... argh! :blush:

So, I have no idea what I'm gonna do while I wait for the visa.. well actually, I thought about applying for my driver license, so I'll be able to drive in the U.S too. Other than that, I try to keep myself busy, or I'll go crazy :lol:

Don't do it, don't set yourself up for dissapointment. Every case is different and they also have different people working on them. They also don't have enough people. Just cause some people filing during one month get approved in a certain month does not mean all people that filed in that month will get approved, close to that month.

When you go to the US, its likely that you won't go back home and stay there for too long. So I think you should enjoy home the way it is now cause it may never be the same for you again.

I am proud to say I have checked my status on the USCIS website every weekday since the first day I set up my account! :lol: But no I never expect to see anything but Initial Review. But for me its mostly about hoping I don't get an RFE cause I had to file a waiver request for re-applying for her. So its a good luck charm for me that my last updated date has not changed yet.

It was just normal approval. The only thing I think I did differently was I paid with a Postal Money Order. I express mailed my Packet 03/04, it arrived 03/06. Receive date was 03/07, got a text on 03/10 saying application was received, official notice to follow. And got my NOA1 on 3/11. Like I said the only thing I think I did different was paying with the postal Money Order. Thats kinda like cash.

its really nice when i see people convinced they found their soulmates :) it seems we're the first to give up in here. i hope he will stop the visa process too since i dont think this will work out anymore. when a guy tells his fiancee "#### you, im tired of you" doesnt sound that good to me. maybe is time for me to back off and give him space for some real life. he spent his live enough on internet and probably he wasnt ready for a family. we're 21 after all. i dont really know what to do from now on. im so lost


Very sorry to hear that DeeDee. You two are so young at 21. I don't know many men who would be ready for marriage and all the responibility at that age. Thats the hard thing about love, you can't push it, it has to come naturally. There are times like this when maybe you will just have to let him think about it, just give it time and maybe he'll come back to you and apologize. I met her cause I had booked plane tickets cause this crazy woman told me she wanted to marry me. Then on the day my flight departs I get an email from her (this past woman) saying essentially No don't come, "I am very very bad woman!" I took the flight anyway. called her when I was there and got her for a couple words but then she hung up on me. I ended up calling her friend and found out that this woman had married another man on that day that I landed!

Well since I had a couple weeks of vacation I decided to go and visit some other countries. I took the Euro bus and stopped in Riga Latvia and hotel. Then I decided to take a walk and see maybe if I could find something to eat. Well I obviously went the wrong way cause I couldn't find a thing. By the time I was getting back toward my hotel. It was late and I just ran into some people waiting at a bus stop. Well the future woman of my dreams was standing there, and I asked her where one could get something to eat. Anyway we both ended up walking to the old town of Riga and we both had dinner together at her favorite restaurant! That was 9 years ago.

Sorry to hear that. Its extremely rare that she and I have arguments but I work on our communications as often as I can. There's no magical fix to it but I think the key is being open with each other. If he knew how you feel about something and why you feel that way and you knew the same about him. You might understand each other better and end up having less arguments. Anyway its much better to tackle the problem now than later. Good luck with it and hope it gets better.

Nah people that say that are just making that excuse. If they hadn't gotten RFE they could have potentially been approved a month earlier.

May 2 is the date, not sure why they dragged their feet so long, but it's the CSC, and now we KNOW that it's a go!!!! NO RFE NO RFE, please NO RFE!!!

We sent our original packet in January, and the forms we had used then were still valid then, but upon resending them, we never rechecked that they were still okay. They did phone and ask us to resend in a few things, with new dates as the old ones were no longer valid. This is how we know they have them. He spent ages on the phone today, most of it telling them that he was the petitioner, as they kept telling him that they would only talk to the petitioner, and even after telling them he was, they told him the petitioner needed to make the call, and were they there with him? Sounded like a fun time to hear him tell it! After all that, he was told that sometimes they don't cash the cheque, and if they were waiting for additional info, that would explain why, as they generally cash it after 30 days. (I know, I know, on here that timeline is WAY off) They told him that he needs to wait a minimum of 60 days before panicking. He's not so good at waiting, and plans on making nice with his local senator's office, as it seems we're gonna need one. As to them never phoning, I already went over that in another thread, and it seems sometimes they do. We have all the luck.
