K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLast letter of my name misspelled on tax transcripts

This seems very convenient but on the I-129F form I put "none" under other name(s) used. Would there be a problem if I include it on the DS forms?

I don't think it'll be a problem. I mean it is the same name, you just spelled it differently and forgot about the other spelling. Its pretty much too late to correct it except if you get an RFE from USCIS but I don't think they know any other name so you might get NOA2 without an RFE.

Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLast letter of my name misspelled on tax transcripts

Which application are you referring to when you said that you assumed that I use both spellings? On my entire I-129f packet i put my name as Eric although on my transcripts it's labeled as Erik

Well, it seems the only time it might matter to USCIS is when they are doing name checks on you. I have no clue what kind of results they get back from the databases but I think not to worry if a similar name shows up they will have some kind of possible name match on either one of your names. :)

As far as the tax transcripts the embassy will see those and its up to the CO and gang to determine whether the difference in those two names are enough to question your I-134.

So maybe at this stage ( I mean after your NOA2 and when the embassy receives your case ) there's a note you can make to the embassy (email or call) or place on the DS forms for the embasssy to mention the two names and explain?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswait time for embassy to recieve application?

I just looked online again and my case number is under April and it says the Packet 4 was sent on April 8th. How can this be when I´ve called repeatedly since April and they´ve told me it´s not in the system!? And here´s the kicker, they put my fiance´s nationality as Dominican Republic when he is Ecuadorian! Now what do I do to correct this mistake?

I'm bumping this up for you cause I noticed from your other thread that you got your NOA2 in the beginning of April.

That means your NOA2 is reaching its expiration date so maybe somebody here who knows about your embassy sees this and can give you more info on how to contact the embassy cause I don't think you have too much more time to waste.

Also it seems since your fiance is a resident there, so he can still interview there even if his nationality is screwed up, plus his passport shows his correct nationality right?

Good luck!

but i need to ask you the Money Transfer Receipt i have i didn't send Money to my Fiancee she sent me from USA

do you think it can still cause Problem for me waiting for your respond

Actually I don't know but there's another way that they can see it is that you two are both collaborating. I expect a couple is ok but I wouldn't present too many just out of caution. If you have passport stamps, boarding passes, receipts and other proof that you both have seen each other within two years, some pictures together and with family and letters and all.

You are probably fine even with the money transfer receipts. I can't say for sure just have heard that Pakistan filers are more scrutinized, especially guys.

If your evidence all together paints a story in their minds of your relationship then I think you are fine. I think they have a bit of common sense but then what do I know. ;)

Wish you luck!

include them but the problem is that they are not dated i have greeting cards for b-day Valentine love and others

so i guess i shouldn't have Problems but in Pakistan we have some issues Most of the guys Applicants go on AP

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNEED HELP RELATED I-129F

we have arranged our engagement in which i had my family i invited my friends and office colleagues so then i hired a Professional Photographer for our engagement album in which it shows we have family friends attending my fiancee is a west indian from guyana but she is a US Citizen so we both wore traditionally indian engagement outfit i do have
Tickets we met in London first time and then dubai and then she came to pakistan and now on 16 July i'm flying for Bangkok to meet her so i have all the tickets available unfortunately don't have hotel receipt cos we asked the hotel
to provide us letters that we stayed in the following hotel but we couldn't get non of them i have emails chat logs
Money Transfer Receipt all copies available and visa copy means my fiancee visited three countries to meet me she didn't visa for london and dubai but needed for pakistan so she had enter and exit stamp of her passport so she made a copies of them sent to USCIC i guess i shouldn't have issue but i really don't want to be in AP cos i love my fiancee alot we both missing each other like crazy so that is y this is our fourth trip is there any suggestions would you give me in order to avoid being in AP Thanks

Well the only thing I would avoid showing them any more money transfer receipts cause you don't want to give them any reason to suspect visa fraud as in trying to buy their way into the US. Engagement parties and albums are good but don't give them any possible reason to think you are married already. One thing that might be unavoidable for getting AP is if your name is very common there in Pakistan and could match in their databases.

Good luck!

my fiance insist that we will wait for the NVC letter and will not call the NVC after 1 week upon receiving the NOA2 to get our MNL number due to this post. is this right? pls advise us on what is really the right thing to do. thank u in advance and God bless.

I'm not at all certain that everbody gets the letter most people call after a week or 2 after NOA2 and they don't even mention a letter. Well chances are that if you don't get the letter in 3 or 4 weeks your fiance will change his/her mind and call NVC cause eventually you have to find out whats going on.

One thing I can tell you for sure, in the past I've had USCIS stuff my approved petition into an 'Offsite storage facility' instead of sending it to NVC', so don't put all your faith in these agencies, I always say.

It stops at the NVC first. So check with NVC a week or so after your NOA2 date and sometimes it takes a few weeks. They'll give you the case number for your embassy. Sometimes you get a letter from NVC but I'm not sure people always get it. There are lots of posts on here about how to contact NVC.

You can check the embassy info on the link above and find out what forms you will need to fill out and schedule your medical with one of their listed doctors. Make sure you get your police reports, birth certicate, divorce certificate and all together and have the USC send you a copy of the petition he sent to USCIS, I-134, ongoing relationship evidence and possible new letter of intents.

Don't know how it works at your embassy but you can stay ahead of the game and even contact them if you think you've been waiting too long.

I got adopted by american parents i got my citizenship through my parents I have us passport and abroad birtg certificate

Well then I guess you can choose option C and attach a statement explaining this and send you passport pages also.

I'm assuming your parents were always US citizens and so they never had to go through naturalization to get their US citizenships and so don't have naturalization certificates.

what should i write in I-134 where they are asking about my u.s citizen number i only have u.s passport.
and what should write the cosponsor she only have u.s birth certificate.

please help me in this

You got your citizenship somehow? If you were naturalized you should have a certificate number? If you lost the certificate you really need to contact somebody, like the court where you got your naturalization cause there will be other times when you need it. Either that or you got your citizenship cause your parents got their citizenship when you were a kid?

Your cosponsor well she was born here correct? The form asks where she was born. There also option C, USC derived from some other method. Attach explanation.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNeed help with I-134 affidavit of support

hey everyone I hope you are all doing well, I am trying to get my affidavit of support ready, I just have an issue, I do not make enough to support my fiance and already have the co sponsor, but I have an issue which is that I have two bank accounts one which I have my debit card linked to which has a very low amount in it at all times because I'm a waiter so I pay all of my bills cash and have really not been able to save because I have had rent and crazy 300 dollar phone bills because of the international calling, so I don't want to show them my bank information because I'm scared they will see there is hardly any money in that one and than I have a bank account with 4,000 dollars in it, which I am not touching can I show them that one? what are my chances of having a problem because of this although I have a steady job and a co sponsor?

On a side note if you have $300 in international phone bills try something like calling cards, they are a lot cheaper than that, the ones that you can access your phone logs. You can try cards from zaptel.com, the service I use for my card, and make sure the card you select alllows you access to phone logs.

Go to you consulate website, if you don't know it do a search on the US Embassy in Armenia.

They might be responsive to emails.

are thy also intrested in how u met ?
like we met in Pwi , an online rpg game
do thy want see snapshots from that game from us ?
or is it good enough for them that we both say that we met on that game ?
just wondering =)

I think you can briefly mention you initally met each other online through this game, but they really want to know how you physically met and what led to you two coming together to want to marry each other.

You can look at the embassy review link at the top of the page, select your consulate and look at peoples K-1 reviews of their interviews at the embassy. The thing is each consulate is a little bit different on what they might ask and their requirements.

Mostly they want to know how much you know each other, and whether you have a real relationship. Also whether the USC can support the forein fiance in the US. One example of a red flag can be where the foreign fiance is just trying to buy their way into the US as there's no indication of a real relationship.

yeah , we did a I-129F and G235a form

My point was the photo requirements at the interview are different, they are not concerned primarily with whether you met within 2 years. They will look at your whole relationship, so if you have pictures from 3 years ago, lets say, then they are still interested in them.

i dont like when ppl react bad on what i do , do i dont say nothing , im really closed person
but my fiancee and i dont have any photos up in Facebook ... what is the % that thy will , even that i show messadges from facebook
trough the years ???
thx for answering the Qestions though

~~Jorim

At the interview stage they are more concerned with photos and evidence of your ongoing, and whole relationship. The meeting within 2 years was for the I-129F petition at USCIS. So if you had photos together prior to the 2 years they are still interested in those, at the embassy interview.

No they don't look at facebook, unless maybe your case ends up in Administartive Processing cause they see some red flags and possibly could do a internet search on your name, as far as whether the relationship is really legitimate.

Yes they are the forms that the US citizen fiance filled with USCIS.

The second stage is filing forms for the embassy. The forms you, the beneficary, will fill for the embassy are the department of state forms, once your fiance gets the approval for your petition from USCIS.

Hi everyone I actually have 2 questions.

1. I had filed a previous Fiancee petition in 2006. I withdrew the petition becasue the relationship did not work out. I sent in all my information fromt he beginning with this current K1 petition adn also the letter I received saying the previous petition was terminated at my request. Will this cause me a problem? What type of questions will they ask me about this?

2. When I fill out the petition it asks if my fiancee had any childre. He has a daughter but the mother does not want her to come to the US yet as she is only 2 years old. I only listed her to be truthful but do I have to tell them somethign in advance about not petitioning her tight now? They have mentioned her to me when I called NVC but i think it is just becasue she is on the application.

Thank you everyone for all your help!

You're the petitioner right and you received NOA2 already correct? Then your previous petition does not matter anymore cause only USCIS was concerned with that. They always say they will inform the beneficiary of any of your previous filings to warn her so that she knows what she's getting into.

Or are you saying that you filed for this same person before? In that case the beneficiary may be asked to explain why it didn't work out previously.

Good luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat should we do if the birth certificate of the petitioner is since 1975?

Just checking, but you do know all the pages of the US citizen's passport is also an option right? That assumes he has one, of course.

http://www.visajourn...content/k1guide gives some helpful tips.

I'll go with Penguin_ie, a petitioner only has to prove US citizenship so even the US Passport pages will do that. No birth certificate of the petitioner required. If you don't have a US Passport you can get one pretty quickly if you are a USC. But I have to assume the petitioner has one already because they had to go overseas to meet their fiance! ;)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresurgent help! wrong nationality listed

I just Googled "alphabetical list of countries," and Ecuador directly follows Dominican Republic on that list. Therefore, this could be a USCIS fingergraphical error.

OP, did you check your copy of the I-129F petition to ensure that everything says "Ecuador" on it? If it does say that, then call USCIS again, insist on immediate escalation to an immigration officer (cut off the rude, ignorant screener before he/she can begin the mindless script), and find out the exact process to retrieve the petition and get it to Guayaquil. Find out if Santo Domingo embassy can send it directly to Guayaquil, with tracking (get the method & the number). You may have to involve your Congressman in this matter.

In response to an earlier post, no the beneficiary cannot go to the local consulate to straighten anything out. The petitioner files the petition, and this matter is on the petitioner's end, so it's up to the petitioner to get everything straightened out. The Guayaquil consulate doesn't give a rat's hindquarters anyway.

I mean as far as I can tell the OP is the one that noticed the nationality thing not the consulate. So as far as I can tell from what the OP wrote is that nothings changed as far as being able to interview.

The OP just has to wait for the packet from the consulate to send the forms in, and get the interview date, I gather from what she wrote. So why not let the consulate figure it out during the interview and tell USCIS to correct it, at least the interview process will be over.

But my question is why can't he still interview there even though the paperwork has his nationality screwed up? I mean even if he were of the other nationality most consulates allow other nationalities to interview as long as he has residency there. I mean the nationality thing can be fixed cause he has proof, but delaying the interview might double the time they have waited.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresurgent help! wrong nationality listed

I have had the packet 4 downloaded basically since I sent in my application and I have done all the paperwork (updated several times for newer versions of the forms). The only thing I didn`t do was the medical appointment because I was waiting for the interview date, which I now realize was a huge mistake because they keep telling me I`m not in the system. I called NVC and the consulate and they can`t help me(except through email at the consulate, and I`m waiting for their response.) You can only schedule the interview through the Visa Information Service and these people have no idea what they are talking about because I said my NOA2 approval expires July 28 and she told me it does not expire! They asked me if I had done the medical and I said no. If I make an appointment now and tell them the date will they give me an interview date? Or should I just say I already had the medical done. I am desperate here and so drained from this process.

Well since its in their system it probably won't expire because they will extend it automatically. Call one of the doctors I believe all you need is your case number to schedule the appointment. They will forward the results to the consulate, just get it done at least a week before the interview because they need the results. There is a fee for the medical. I don't know the process there, its different everywhere. The doctor can probably tell you whether they give you the results or just forward it to the embassy.

Yes must be very tiring but it will be worth it in the end, good luck!

I have been calling to schedule an interview for my fiance since April and they told me it´s not in the system. Now I look at the website and there is his case number and it says the packet was sent April 8th! How can this be if I have been calling them since April? And here´s the kicker, they have his nationality down as Dominican Republic and he is Ecuadorian! Where was this mistake made and how can I correct it and how much will it delay my case? I really can´t believe this is happening, what do I do?

If your NOA2 was in April, I think his nationality is the least of your worries. You are reaching your 4 month NOA2 expiration date so you really need to confront them at the embassy.

Have you filled out the DS forms yet? I don't know how it works there but I don't think you needed to wait for your packet, you could have gotten all the infromation you needed off of their website or here on VJ on the Embassy Info link on the top of the page.

I think you need to get them to extend you NOA2 expiration date and explain that you have been trying to call them and waiting for the packet you never received. I have no idea about your consulate but I think you have to fill out those forms to schedule your interview and do your medical a week or so before the interview so they get the results by the time of the interview.

Hopefully there will be more people here tonight or tomorrow that deal with your embassy to give you more info.

Even if his nationality is screwed up he can probably do the interview there anyway cause he lives and is a resident there right?

Is there anyway he could just schedule a general appointment with the embassy to ask them questions and talk about your situation and what you need to do to correct it?

The petitioner has to be a US citizen, I would not think there is any restriction of Green Card holder to co-sponsor but somebody back me up on that.

Check the guides link on top of the page but in general for your interview you will need birth, divorce certificates, translations, police reports from all places you lived at for 6 months while age 16 or over, medical exam. Check your embassy for the specific forms you need to fill out.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAfter NOA2... the Beaurocratic Form Nightmare

Hi Inky,

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.

Trying to get my fiancee to do anything is like trying to get a Panda Bear to take a bath, so I want to do as much of the paperwork as I can for her...

She gets overwhelmed and stressed out of her mind real easily.

That's why I'm going to try to gather as much of the info needed on the forms as I can and fill it out for her. Then I'll translate it to have her double-check what I did.

So I would appreciate it if someone could lessen my work load by telling me which of the above forms we are not required to complete and submit.

Take care,

notmuch88tosay

You can fill out the forms for your fiance (beneficiary), for example the DS-156 has a spot for who the form was prepared by and relationship to the beneficiary.

The K-1 visa falls between Immigrant and Non-Immigrant, so you can't go by that. The links on the top of the page for your Embassies info should list what you have to fill out allong with you embassies website.

Good luck.

P.S. She has to sign them, except where it says DO NOT WRITE UNDER THIS LINE.

Your fiance should get her police report close to when you receive your NOA2 in about 4 or 5 months +- cause the police report shouldn't be too old when she does the interview.

You fill out the I-129F and 1 G325A for her and one for you. Along with passport photos and supporting documentation.

The DS forms are for the interview stage so the info on them is about the beneficiary. So if you fill them out she is the one that has to sign them and you list that you prepared them for her. You'll also have to fill out the I-134 affidavit of support for her.

You fill out the DS-156 online cause it will generate the barcode that you need.

Theres a link for the k-1 guides at the top of the page which shows examples of how to fill out the forms.

Hello all. I was wondering if the following situation happened to anyone. Last Thursday was my interview for the k1 visa. Things were going well. At the end of the interview, the person who was interviewing me told me I did not have enough evidence. Instead of declining me for the visa, she told me they were going to forward something to Washington DC. Then if approved I send my passport with more evidence of ongoing relationship. Has anyone had this happen before?

I've heard of somebody that got put on AP and some processing had to be done in DC. The beneficiary was Jordanian and had a very common name. They finally did get the Visa about 7 weeks later. Hopefully your wait will be even shorter. Good luck!

Should I just include a range rather than everything? Or is it better safe to provide everything, than sorry to not provide enough?

A range is fine. Throwing a gazillion pages at the USCIS adjucator seems like a bit much cause at this stage the goal is to show that you have met within the two years. Also I can imagine it can slow your processing down cause they will probably have to comb thru it all to look for red flags. At the interview stage you can load your fiance with new ongoing relationship evidence for the interview.

Good luck.

Hi VJers. I am curious about NOA2. Does it have a 4 months valid expiration date? Does this mean that we need to schedule the interview and enter the US within 4 months? or it's just that we need to do the medical exam and embassy interview within 4 months? Thank you guyzz :)

That expiration date can be automatically extended by the embassy, as long as your case gets into the embassy system before the expiration date.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresform I-134 for K1 Visa

thanks for the reply..when you mean by embassy is it my local embassy where i am interviewing??

Yes, you have Manila written with your post picture. Probably lots of people here can answer you on whether they allow co-sponsors, but I don't know. But if your USC fiance earns enough then he/she doesn't need co-sponsor.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresform I-134 for K1 Visa

Hey guys.
Im in need of help. I've researching alot about this I-134 and still makes me confuse.
First question, do both the petitioner and the beneficiary has to provide for the I-134?
If yes, Im unemployed as of the moment and my fiance only gets enough salary. Second question is, can my mom fill out the form i-134 and be the sponsor for me (the beneficiary) and for my fiance (the petitioner) because she is very willing to support us

thanks.

Only the petitioner fills out the I-134 and sends it to the beneficiary for the interview. Not all embassies accept co-sponsors, so you have to find out if your does. But the co-sponsor should be a U.S. green card holder or US citizen. Good luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPetitioning for Romanian fiance residing in Italy.

LOL romania is an EU country since 2007. but that means we dont need tourists visas for many EU countries. you're allowed to stay in an EU country only for 90 days without a visa, then you have to return

Ok but you have to be a Romanian Citizen to get an EU passport right? Do you have an EU passport DeeDee? They don't even stamp EU passports when you go from one country to another. I know cause my fiance mostly just has to flash her EU passport to enter any EU country and she has had no problem staying and working in Cyprus.

If she was there "legally" to live an work, then why does she need to return "home" every 3 months?

The go home every three months is a sign of temporary status and not residency....

Like the OP said its required by Italy, I'm guessing that Romania is not a EU country, and so she does not have an EU passport.

But its the US embassy that decides whether she is legal enough to interview there, not Italian rules on whether she has to return once in a while.
