in the end. it just matters that you let them push you around for a couple of hours.

In the end, all that you are enduring, just another potholes on the road to Visa Journey's Destination: VISA to America. It's all meaningless and all not too much effort to comply, so do it and never thinking back: too much!!! Just do it!

DPNH,

Listen to Todd! You do make weird uncalled for comments toward people (americans and vietnamese alike on this particular board). Maybe unlike you, we don't get that sense of humor. Did uncle Ho or Nguyen Tien Dung hurt you in someway? Remember this and it makes you feel a whole lot better: if it wasn't for Uncle Ho, you would be here in America!!!! If you don't understand where I'm going with this... make sure you ask! Thank you Ho Chi Minh! good.gif About the hairs part, just answer it with constructive advise.

Remember, there is no stupid question regarding HCM Consulate, just dumb answer.

Why would you even bring this up???? biggrin.gif You will have an ulcer before this whole thing is finished... it doesn't matter what color her hair is, the goal the CO wants to achieve is to make sure he grants the Visa to someone who deserve it!

Say, she doesn't like her hair, and shave off her head... would that be considered as ground to deny her case? Maybe, may be not, who knows... now that she got NO HAIRS hihihihihi!

Relax guy! smile.gif

I love to eat, especially good foods! Nothing wrong with a good juicy burger or a rare-cook steak.
However, If I travel 10,000 miles to VN, burst my butt on tiny airline seat for 24hrs and some, that last thing I want is a burger, pizza, spagettie, pizza, KFC chicken, hotdogs or tacos/nachos. I eat these every week, month, year. Don't like, don't hate, but they don't give me an URGE to seek for place to taste it when i'm in Saigon. I can't justify paying $10 for a wanna-be burger or BBQ ribs by some nobody who think he can cook a better burger than me! Nor I justify to pay $25 for a piece of meat that has been frozen and traveled as far as I am to be on my plate (US steaks) as some suggested. Not about money, it's all about GOOD TASTE baby! I would feel cheated on my part, my effort! devil.gif

My motto on eating out: when you're, order what you CANNOT make at home or avoid dishes you can have everyday at the dinner table.

So list of things I want to eat when i'm in Saigon:
Bún Bò Hu?
Bún Ch? Cá
Bún Than
Bún Riêu
Bún Th?t N??ng
Mì Qu?ng
Mì G? 2 dz?t (has to be served by a chinese man with a Noodle Cart - Xe Hu Tieu Mi)
Ph? Tái N?m Gân Vè Dòn (the thin sliced steaks are unbelieable in VN)
Bánh Canh Giò Heo
Bánh Canh Cua
Bánh Bèo
Bánh Kh?t
Bánh Cu?n "Tây H?" (near ?inh Tiên Hoàng)
Tàu H? N??c G?ng
Chè Trôi N??c
Nghêu Sò ?c H?n Cua (mussles, clams, escargots, stonecrabs)
Rau Mu?ng Xào T?i (this is the exception, I can make this at home but I will order everytime I go out, just too much effort to plug and prepare this dish)
L?u Dê
Dê N??ng Chao
Tôm Càng N??ng
Bánh H?i Th?t Quay
Phá L?u
Cháo Lòng
Cháo Huy?t
Cháo V?t
G?i V?t
Ti?t Canh V?t
N??c Mía
N??c Chanh Giây

YUP, that's all folks.... Anyone suggests anything else, add to the list. BTW, Th?t Chó is NOT on my list, have no desire for it!
Well truth is, after about three weeks of eating all these great foods, I'd def. want a philly cheesesteak by the time I get back home. So just like anything else, too much of a good thing will be bad! All thing in moderation...

Asia: East and PacificFinancial stuff for I-134
Todd,
I do not support baseless rationalization or useless effort which yield fruitless results.
Erik can obtain a transcript if he desires and if he can get it and I suggest he gets it. However not everyone will be asked for the official IRS ITR transcripts, but each of you will be asked for support evidence. You and many others may be lucky enough to get this ITR transcripts in time, some don't, still it doesn't mean they will not be able to submit 1040 and W-2's from, yup, Turbo Tax, H&R Block or any tax software they might have used, some don't use software but their very own handwritten forms. Guess what, you will be able to submit those as evidence. Obtain the ITR transcripts doesn't prove some people give more effort than others, nor it gives little evidence of others try to rationalize their way of doing thing to save a little effort. None of this means nothing, but also means so much to some. Do not get tunneled vision.

I do not agree with some who think and believe there is only ONE way to get thing done, all else are invalid. I also do not agree with some who try do the minimum to get by and wonder why their case don't get approved.
Good luck with your case!

For Erik

Need a Copy of Your Tax Return Information?
Requesting transcripts (individuals):

You have two easy and convenient options for getting copies of your federal tax return information--tax return transcripts and tax account transcripts--by phone or by mail.

Request transcripts by calling 1-800-829-1040, or order by mail using IRS Form 4506T (Request for Transcript of Tax Return). We do not charge a fee for transcripts. Allow two weeks for delivery.

Definitions:

A tax return transcript shows most line items from your tax return (Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ) as it was originally filed, including any accompanying forms and schedules. It does not reflect any changes you, your representative or the IRS made after the return was filed. In many cases, a return transcript will meet the requirements of lending institutions such as those offering mortgages and for applying for student loans.

A tax account transcript shows any later adjustments either you or the IRS made after the tax return was filed. This transcript shows basic data, including marital status, type of return filed, adjusted gross income and taxable income.

the consulate instructions state that the complete tax return transcript is preferred.

Todd: it's true that ITR transcript is prefered by HCMC.
Erik: However, sometimes you can't give them what you do NOT have, eventhough they say they WANT it (hint: W-2, 1040 ITR is OK!). Not a single piece of evidence will break or make your case. It's the total supportive evidence package which you present to HCMC, to convince them beyond any "reasonable doubt" of your true relationship. Think big picture! How do I show them that I'm financially sound and will be able to support her, and won't let her get on welfare or become a public charge! That's the meaning of the i-134. Can you show HCMC you can handle it? Yes? Then you're good to go brother! good.gif

Oh Joe,
Now I feel bad!!!! For the vietnamese students who pay to learn how to speak/read/write proper English from someone who call himself Joe-Six-Pack. Try to handle a civilize conversation seems to be impossible, they must utilize profanity to relay their thoughts (F words, Sh!thead) and insert insulting words to defend their point. Weak!
Since when this board becomes a place for trashing? Since when we give ourselves the authority over others because we have more dots and those red-hearts? Those dots and hearts are meaningless in my opinions, useless posts just make you a post-#######.

Note how Joe edit his original post since yesterday... Think twice, post once! Nothing wrong with you or me or anyone asking question that related to our situation. What you wondered was legit, the bike license is for YOU, not your illiterite Vietnamese BIL who lives all his live in VN. Get real!!! A Vietnamese who live in VN ask a foreigner how to conduct business in his own country???? Weird!

But this guy Joe missed the point, and i can't blame him, since he got many dots and hearts next to his name as if those are badge of honor of some sort... nice!!!! I got less hearts and dots... like most of people... therefore I can't express my disagreement with Joe... The tittle of this thread totally misled the reader. Should have said:

2. The Blind leads a blind! - Not for me!
3. CDL Wanted in VN - Not for me!

IMHO,

If you were helped and guided by VJ during your freshman year (so as speak), and you are now graduated. But instead of becoming a strangers to the forums, you are an Alumni of the University of VJ. A value Alumni will contribute and give back to the university, joint discussion, assist and guide the new comers and freshman without making an @$$ out of themselves.

I disagree with Dau Que in regard of the VIET girls didn't show up on VJ and say "THANK YOU" to VJ. If your woman understand how important VJ is to your journey, and encourage you to continue to help out new members which taking times out of your busy life (hint: Roger - Get that hotdog francises up and running yet?). Then that's more than just an empty say: C?m ?n VJ! Action speaks louder than word.

I also understand the complexity of this whole process to appreciate everyone's input and help more and more each day I read the forum. Value members contribute invaluable information and guidance to the board which I find keeps it alive and well after 5 years on this board for me.

So by our present, You (the USC) and me, are being here is the testimony of your wife's apprication of VJ.

Be well,

Chuck and Kim

P.S. Notice how I always try to sign my wife's name and mine... Get it!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I UNDERSTAND NOW. HOWEVER, I CAN NOT LIST ALL OF THEM. VIETNAMESE PEOPLE ARE ALMOST IN CALIFORNIA, WE MET ONLINE, SO IT IS VERY CLEARLY NO SHORTCUT.

I think he's saying they look into the immigration background of the family to see if there's a possible pattern of fraud. That's an interesting angle that I hadn't considered, but it wouldn't surprise me at all. Anything seems to be possible with the consulate in HCM.

Anyway, the fact that you met your fiancee online wouldn't have anything to do with it. From the consulate's perspective, if she was looking for a quick ticket to the US then it's just as possible she'd do it herself by finding a husband online, rather than having her family in the US help her. It sucks that a suspected fraud in the family would affect your fiancee's visa application, but that's just the way it is. If one family member does it then they think the family would be coaching each other about how to do it. There was a girl in the Philippines not long ago who posted that her visa was denied because they suspected her sister was a fraud (she got a divorce soon after lifting conditions), and they grilled her about her sister at the interview.

I'm not sure what you mean about not being able to list "all of them", and "Vietnamese people are almost in California". Does this mean that she does have relatives in the US? If so then you should list them, or at least list the ones your fiancee is aware of. She may not have addresses for any of them, but the odds are good that she's at least got some phone numbers. You or her could call them and get the addresses. I don't recommend you take any chances with this consulate. Always do your best to provide them all the information they ask for.

does this apply to far cousins too?

You don't need to do a full genealogy trace on her entire family tree. Don't make this any more complicated than it needs to be. If she knows a relative that is living in the US, then she should list it. She can ask a few family members if they know of any additional relatives she might not know about. I wouldn't bother researching it any further than that. You don't need to list everyone in the US whose family name is "Nguyen"! whistling.gif

I only listed relatives that my fiancee and her uncle knew about. I added a statement saying we made a reasonable effort to disclose every relative, and there may be additional relatives that my fiancee and her uncle were unaware of, and whom I had never met.

What he said smile.gif "known relatives".

You can't really list someone's name on the list just because your uncle/mom/dad say "so and so live in the US, but you never met or know them and have absolutely no personal relationship with them"

Remember, you can't give what you don't have, or blindly accept something that you have not fully verify.

Most VN parents who sent their daughter to marry foreigner tent to have the belief "It's over, we never know when we get to see our babygirl again!" W.H.O. gives a $#!t swine flu if you go to VN!!!! It's the otherway around! Vietnamese people are afraid of our Americans who would bring the swine flu back to VN.... People who are from the US, Australia, Canada etc. are screened for swine flu when travel to VN. People don't get swine flu for flying but getting from not washing their hands after shaking hands or touching contaminated surfaces.

Come fly away!
