Middle East and North Africaiiiiiiiiiits thursday!

good morning everyone! :star: today i feel ill. i went to a nepalese restaurant and had a horrible meal. and now i'm paying for it. it was called himalayan yak...and it was yakky!!!!! lol

hope you all have a better day!

That is terrible! This is why I don't go out too often: I am way too picky and afraid to get food poisoning! But I always have a bottle of apple cider vinegar in my kitchen for something like that - works like magic! It's a folks remedy, but I can swear by it! 1-2 teaspoons per glass of water and take as much as you need - don't make yourself drown in it, though! Works for nausea as well, just have a sip or two every time you're nauseous.

I'm going to see my doctor about my second High Blood pressure medicine today and my low Hemoglobin. Then going to work to see my favorite patient for 6 hours. Oh, yeah! I got new neighboors who put water all over my garage door and some in garage - had to meet them for that and have a little chat with them. Turns out the husband is Moroccan! That's nice for whenever my hubby gets here, inshallah!

Their new dishwasher wasn't hooked properly - that's the reason for that water.

Happy Thursday everybody!

Just letting everybody know that instead of changing my name into something depressing as I wanted before, I've decided to go with the positive change. It's not because he's here or about to be - just following an advice.

Thanks for reading.

My husband's not here yet and it's been a very long wait. But I just got new neighboors next door and had a chance to met them, the husband's Moroccan and he has his own restaurant. So, he must be doing good, but i'm guessing he came here with some money already.

His wife's American and they just got a house. Sorry, I couldn't me of more help.

That's great! Hope everything will go smooth this time and he'll get the visa, inshallah!

BTW, Khemisset is not that far from Casa, about 4 hour ride the most! I had to go to Casa by train from Fes - that's torture!

Good luck!!!

I'm with Moody here! Don't you love the internet? That's how I got passport copies from my hubby. Anything else I'd send TO Morocco would get lost. I don't know if I should mail the package for his interview either (for whenever that happens).

Middle East and North AfricaIs anybody going to Morocco in April?
I'm not saying I'll go for sure, still thinking... Just wanted to know, maybe someone else is going too. I'll definatelly use Royal Air Maroc - it's the cheapest around my area and the shortest flight, which is nice considering the trip takes about 24 hours anyway to get to JFK and from Casa to Fes.

So, back to my question, is anybody going?

Middle East and North AfricaNeed to learn english and arabic
First of all, welcome to VJ!

You got me laughing, girl! I don't know how you got around the communication problem. My husband speaks english and I don't speak arabic, and we still have lots of mis-communications cause of cultural differences and diffeent upbringings!

If you search google, they give you an university somewhere that has a software, or try friendsofmorocco.org or .net - haven't been there a while. They have a link for moroccan arabic, I've been thinking of getting it myself, but haven't gotten to that just yet. I think, it's about $30.

Good luck, Connie.

Middle East and North AfricaAnyone else hate this question as much as I do?

I always thought it was nice that my friends and family were asking me when Hicham was coming. I appreciated that they wanted to know so they could all meet him.

It's nice, but after a very long wait :clock: :clock: :clock: it's getting on my nerves and reminding about the wait and the whole annoying process at this point is just like hitting a wounded animal :sleepy: - too painful for the animal and probably very amusing for the person who's hitting it :alien: :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: :girlwerewolf2xn: (it's just a anology! nobody's actually hitting anybody, people! relax!) :innocent:

Oh man! I hate questions like that! What I hate even more is when those people start saying, what are you going to do if he's never coming over???? What if he can't come over until you're 60?

OH, you'll be starting your menopause soon!!! Why do you need a man??? What is he good for?

You should have married an American!!! blah, blah...

Oh, did he hear anything? What did he say? Does he even want to come here??? :diablo:  :clock: :ranting: :ranting: :ranting: :ranting: :protest: :crying: :bonk: :bonk:

Middle East and North AfricaIntrod. your pets to your future/new spouse...
My husband has a cat that looks exactly like my orange cat looked (unfortunatelly, he died in February cause of all this bad stuff with pet food, and I was heart-broken). I also have another cat, that my husband is used to seeing on the web-cam; and I got a young cat while being upset over loosing my favorite cat. Alltogether, it's three cats right now. I don't think it'll be a problem for my husband anyway, he's used to being having animals at his house.

My cats actually like the pet carrier, they go there from time to time.

So, I hope there would be no problem here.

Middle East and North AfricaFRIDAY!!!
I went to my office (i don't work there - patients houses), got my paycheck and papers, went to the dollar store and then I relized... that I'm an idiot! I forgot all about the paper from my job that I work there and stuff (for AOS that I'm taking with me next week when I go to see my hubby)!

The office is closed, I've wasted all the time driving there for nothing!!! On Monday I was supposed to go and get the AOS notarized, but now I have to go to the office instead! And the notary public that I go to only works Mon, Wed, Fri (4-8 pm) and Fri I'm leaving for JFK, so I can't go there Friday!

God, I'd be so happy when I'm done with this week! It's been the worst one in a while and I'm so tired of it!
I can't wait till next Friday morning!!! Everything else doesn't matter now!!! But I still have to re-do AOS papers!!!

Shoot! You guys are getting me scared! I'm going next week! Oh man! I talked to my husband and he said, it's about their government, not the americans. But since then there were more news today about the consulate.

Well, I'm going to Khemisset and into the mountain area - hope they have nothing to do there! I'll be back after Mother's day, inshallah.

Middle East and North AfricaHow about Sunday thread?
Happy Sunday everyone! It's raining here too and they were talking about a storm...

I work today as well, getting ready for that... not.

Have to start packing and I'm already tired from shopping for everything. Just found out that my husband's uncle and aunt had another baby - need to get something for the baby too, and for his grandma, who's picky...

DOROTHY, thanks for thinking of me. We won't go to Casa at all, just the airport! Sorry, I didn't write to you before, but I thought, well, who needs to listen to my whinning? How ru doing?

I have to do so much stuff and with me working every day, it' s not going to be easy! I wish it was already next Saturday and I was in Casa! That's the hardest part before the trip - those few days!

I was trying to add another pic of my cat and it didn't work for some reason, so now I lost the one I had before too.

Chi, would it affect cases denied before this was issued, do you know?

I've contacted Ombdusman, Senator and Congress Woman's offices and it's still in limbo. After October, I've contacted Ombdusman twice with no results up to today! I'll be back from Morocco after our SECOND wedding anniversary which is a little before Mother's Day. They sure weren't rushing before, would that get them moving now or would that affect just new cases? (Do you have any idea?)

Also, thanks for that post, Chi! You sure keep us updated! Where do you find the time?

Middle East and North AfricaHave your husbands friends married American?
"it's what happens after the meeting that counts. could it be that i'm a hopeless romantic?"

No, you're not the only one!
Visa4habibi!FemaleMorocco2007-04-14 22:05:00
Middle East and North AfricaHave your husbands friends married American?
I've been wondering about this topic for a while... My husband came out of nowhere and started talking to me. Then later on when I was online, someone from Fes added me to his friends... I asked my husband, he said, he didn't know the guy. Yes, I chatted with him once, he asked my age, where I'm from and stuff. I asked the same and that made me wonder what's going on. Also, on the web-cam I saw lots of guys in cyber caffee; then I saw that in person, while checking my e-mail and stuff in Morocco. Just a few girls and lots of guys!

Yes, I asked myself that same question lots of times. His aunt said once that she wishes her son would find someone like me and get married with her. I think, she wasn't talking about me as me, but me as an American. They also have relatives in Canada, but none in U.S.

Last year when I read that article that someone posted here about Moroccan young guys looking for a foreign wife, I got a little upset - I just didn't know that it was up to that point. I did read in a book about Morocco, that young people in Morocco have no future!!! So, yes, they're trying to get out of there!

By now I think many of his friends are in U.S., but that doesn't tell me anything about MY HUSBAND! I believe him, only when I think about the future - I'm clueless! I asked him a few times, and he said, why do you think, I'd live that long? Well, we never know, right?

I actually wanted to ask women who have been married to Moroccan men for at least few years if anything's changed. Not because I'm curious, but because .... you never know. The only thing I can say in my deffence (about my doubting him) is that if I can't trust my husband, I guess, I can't trust anybody!

People are just people, nobody's perfect! I just wish I knew more ! I know it's not easy having doubts, even the slightest ones on this subject! I think, it's normal!!!

Girls, please give us some positive feedback!

Middle East and North AfricaI hate cell phones in MENA
Funny thing is I didn't call my husband this weekend on purpose - last week we had a little misunderstanding when he was blaming me for not doing enough for him to come over. I got pissed - can you blame me?
I have a way of texting him but he doesn't, but right now he's in the area where he can check his e-mail, and he did - read his 2 e-mails from me and wrote back nothing!!!

Does it make me want to call him? I don't know. Does it make me even angrier? Oh yeah! Don't know how long I can keep myself from calling him, but I'll do my best and see what he does! I'm sure it's a guy's thing!!! And lots of times he just turned off his phone no matter how many times I've asked him to keep it on! Finally, we're over that! That I think, is a MENA thing - not too sure about that.

But you're right, sometimes (pretty often) the connection or something's not working. It takes me hours to get through, sometimes days...

One time he was somewhere where network didn't work and I wasn't able to reach him for two weeks. Blame the network, don't get upset!

Middle East and North AfricaCasablanca Consulate closed "indefinitely"
I'm in denial (as usual) thinking that everything will be OK... eventually. My husband - we only talked last week before the ####### around the Consulate but after some of the stuff already was happening. He was calm, now I can't reach him on another cell, he got them mixed up, and I just can't get connected!

NO computer and I doubt, he'd check anything in cyber be4 i'm there.

I think, this would blow over, so to speak. This freaking process has made me soooooo patient!!!! i hate it!
So, from somebody who's going over to see her hubby for SECOND!!! wedding anniversary - CALM DOWN, girls (and boys)!

And yes, there's time for everything. I hope, I'll be still alive for the happy times too! I had a living hell with the x, now this process. If there's next time, i'm afraid, i'd have to take too many prescriptions that i had to reserve due to this process with me on the plane. (Get my frustration?)

Now, repeat after me: "EVERYTHING WILL BE ALL RIGHT!". You don't want to end up going through the airport like me with a separate baggie with your prescription meds, right?

ONe more thing, don't get offended for whatever reason, at least for the reason that I wont' be online soon!

But seriously, it's going to be OK!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsImmigration Lawyers NOT NEEDED!!!
QUOTE (SpanglasGirl @ Sep 8 2009, 08:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello Everyone..
I just wanted to reiterate on VJ that an immigration lawyer is not necessary to file a K-1 petition! I learned the hard way... I hired an immigration attorney in March of this year thinking that they would maybe speed up the process.. the absolute opposite happened! I thought for sure that the Vermont Service Center would have my petition by the end of April this year, BUT... NOPE! This Firm was sooo busy and behind: They emailed me in June and told me I needed extra things (passport photos and my fiance's birth certificate) in which I could have been notified earlier... (I was so upset) So, long story short, my petition didn't get filed until July 20th... 3 months later!! AND the kicker... I wasted $1000.00 USD on them! Please, please, please read all the info here in VJ- there is PLENTY and more than enough resources, help, and support to get you through this process.. And YES, YOU CAN DO IT YOURSELF!!
Thank you all for your time, Good Luck and God Bless Always!

Great Advice SpanglasGirl good.gif Good luck on your journey!
