Being in one of the 'gay capitals' of the U.S., hubby has HAD to learn tolerance & after having met a few, he's realizing that they're just people & they're alright. Mexico, Latin & South America	Yardies a home and a farrin (Part 22)	aww.. thanks for asking.. both are doing EXCELLENT.. but for the first time in their academic careers are seeing the need to study. i feel for them cuz i was like them.. i never needed to study to get A's which made me lazy and crippled me as i approached college..it really was hard to perfect those study habits, in fact i never really did, just dropped classes i wasn't naturally well at taylor is finding spanish to be her challenge.. and steph.. my 8 yr old spelling.. they used to get upset when they make a B, but now they are cool .. im not joe jackson or anything.. but i know their potential and i don't want them to accept "good enough" just becuz they don't wanna study.. i have told them.. no more tv the first hour at home..we will study and prepare for the day to come.. whether you have finished your h/w or not, cuz by the time we get home.. they usually have done their hw at school or in the car.. its hard being a mama sometimes, esp when i don't like doing the things im making them do but parenthood is full of double standards and hypocrisy isn't it?? as for the fam, i thought things were better with all of us.. going to dinner, playing wii, laughing and joking, but roger told me to talk to them again, cuz they still rarely speak in the mornings and when he drops them off and pick them up from skool... .. he said when he gets a job, he will take them out more so they can get comfortable with him.. im like YESSS pls take some initiative, cuz all my talking is not helping.. what do i do? punish them for not speaking more often?? i know they should, but its really not something we (my family) have taught.. i know after 7 mnths they should have caught on by now tho, so i understand his point too.. i bet roger can't wait till his kids come so he can show me how well trained kids should act LOL BWOY.. you ask for an inch and i give you a mile right.. I have faith it will come full circle and they will see the benefits for the fam as s whole. The "pulled pork" is made by Gardein. I get it in the produce section of the grocery store. It is a soy based product but calls itself "garden protein". They make "chicken breasts" ... "beef kabobs". Some I like better than others but Louis likes them all. Went to Flagstaff.... saw snow... drove down to Tucson to see the cactus... Oh I loved it! The only thing for me is I like to live near a body of water! Philly ... if you go, I will go! I tried THE dress on last night and it fits woooohoooo I am so happy! Hard work does pay off now just have to stay on track for the remaining 12 days What? I gotta watch it. My Plants would flourish there! Bob & Brandon's Top 25 Reasons to Move to Arizona . 25.) Arizona has 300+ days of sunshine each year...nothing wrong with that! 24.) From Phoenix, you're only a 6-hour drive or 1 hour flight to Anaheim (ever heard of a place called Disneyland?) or San Diego (you know...the city with the great zoo and Sea World!) 23.) Mountains everywhere – We even have one that’s in the shape of a camel. 22.) Love golf? The Phoenix area has over 5 MILLION courses to choose from! (Yes...we're exaggerating... but there ARE a lot of them!) 21.) We've got one great sports team... the Suns; we’ve got two pretty good sports teams… the Diamondbacks and the Coyotes. We didn't count the Arizona Cardinals football team, because they haven't had a winning team since............. 20.) Have you seen an Arizona sunset?...especially during the monsoon season? Everyone LOVES a college town; Tempe is the home of Arizona State University, and is probably the best place to go on a Friday or Saturday night to have a good time. 4.) The economy is very strong, buoyed by the phenomenal housing boom. There are, in general, plenty of jobs, and Arizona is a hotbed of in-home businesses. 3.) Those cute little geckos running along the outside walls of our backyards, and the roadrunners that make you slam on your brakes when they cross the road. 2.) I said you can't just leave it like that because trust me, its going to come back later to bite you in the behind. Then I told Steve, I know you had a talk with him (he just smiled) because later my son came back to me and said "If its mine mom, Im going to step up to the plate, but I don't want to have NOTHING to do with her. I said you have to at some point chile. I said I will deal with her for you but you need to play your part to. We also need to get a DNA test cause who knows with this one. Sad part is I believe in my heart its my son's. Steve thinks she is full of ####### too.. but only time will tell on this one..... *sigh* Just going to pray on it yall and leave it up to God. Whatever is going on WILL be revealed. As I have expressed before, if it is my son's then I guess I will be a young sexy grandma lol WOW Tee, this is such a tough situation I will definitely pray for you and this situation. It certainly makes a huge difference that there is a open line of communication int he family to discuss options. I will pray for you see this is nuh easy at all.....((hugs)) Good luck on that one. I hope she really does because believe it or not sometimes grandparents have good intentions but they are destroying what we are trying to build in our children. Especially our boys. My daughter and I lived with my parents from the time she was 1 until she was 3. They live in Las Vegas as you know and we moved to St Louis when she was 3. It was the best move for us but my daughter still really misses them a lot and we try to see them as much as possible. Leaving is always hard but after a few hours and a trip to get some ice cream she seems better. Plus I let her go stay with them for the summers and that gives them some great time together. Mayby you could do that with your kids? Just an idea. Dillon, that is great advice, one question I guess I have a question about the Father's how will they feel about the move, they won't cause drama will they? Since Vaughn has come I'm always ready before him and I put make-up on and he doesn't. It has just been a slight inconvienance until this past week when we had plans to meet friend of mine who came into town. The first night we were suppose to meet them at 10:30pm and my hubby wasn't ready until 10:30pm. He tried to say he thought I said to be ready at 10:30pm, but I said several times we were leaving at 9:45pm. I just thought it was really inconsiderate of him to not only make me wait, but let my friends wait around too. The next night we went to a movie with them and I thought for sure after I asked why he was late and told him I thought it was rude he would make sure to be on time. Wrong he was late again and caused us to ge to the movies 5 minutes late and that was with me making him dinner and him having to to eat it in the car. I realize 5 minutes with previews first isn't a big deal, but I had enough and told him how I felt. He didn't see the big deal and thought I was over reacting. His solution is that we don't make any plans where we have to be there at a set time. I asked what exactly was going on with him always being late? Does he just start to get ready too late? He didn't really have an answer. I told him I thought it was rediculous to say we can't go anywhere that has a set start time when he could just try to get ready sooner. I suggested that he get ready 15 minutes sooner than he normally would. So ladies, what has been your experience with this? The thing is one of the things I love about him and Jamaicans in general is their laid back attitude, but this has got me stressed. BTW My2 don't worry we will be on time to your wedding. ahaha Girl not only Island time CP time!!!! I am a culprit of that as well, I am trying to get better but ughhhh mornings nuh easy. Just like the Ladies suggested with CP time you always have to do change the time to reflect 30 minutes to an hour earlier, that usually does the trick Morning Ladies, Happy Monday. Thompson... I can't stand being late and Louis tends to wait to the last minute for everything. I try to tell him "I am leaving at..... so be ready". I pretty much works. I would take Sus' advice too and just tell him a an earlier time. That should work. Well, I spoke with Louis this morning. He was so sweet .... it's nice to hear sometimes. He told me he will never travel again without me. It's boring and he misses me so much. I told him I was jealous because its cold here and he said I have no reason to be jealous. He loves me and no one could ever replace me. He must have said he loves me and misses me about 10 times during the conversation! I had a whole trip to DC planned for Tierra's February vacation and have decided to cancel. With Tax returns I will have all CC's paid off in 2 months. I want to SAVE SAVE SAVE.... There are things Louis and I want and we are not going to get anywhere without acting like adults and saving money. So I will be here for Valentine's Day ... wanna think of something FUN to do! I am going to make some chocolate covered strawberries... mmmmmm and make him a nice dinner. Hopefully Nana will watch Tierra. We are looking to get a bigger place this year so Saving is the name of the game with us as well and the refund will help us immensely! Chocolate covered strawberries sound awesome! it was fantabulous!!!! drove down to portland and went rafting around the blue lagoon had dinner that evening at norma's. the food and service were very blaaaaaaah but nothing could ruin my moment then went for fish at Gloria's on sunday and a play after Girl that is so romantic I am so happy for you, what play did you see. We had a good time Hey Tee, glad you made it out. Girlllllll we are so crazy we was having a ball this weekend in the house just enjoying each others company. Diet was a bust we both look pregnant Back on track today ! 13 days and counting I'll be staying in Portmore & Ocho Rios. Aaah ok, well have a blast we won't be dat weh deh maybe we link next time It'a nice having my own schedule, but I'm envious of all of you with steady paychecks. It's gotten tough, but it's slowly getting better. 9pm yikes, but if I had to be out of the house and function before 8 or 9am then I'm sure over time I'd be getting to bed early. So what are everyone's Valentine's Day plans? So far I see great things going on.. DW-getting married, Philly- renewal in JA, and Nat- Vegas trip! I'm thinking of going to a comedy show at this resteraunt/bar. We've been before and liked the comedians. My poor hubby had one wisdom tooth out and now needs to go to a specialist to get the other three removed, one of which is infected and another is still under the gum. So depending on when this goes on we may just be staying in. I'm almost thinking a sexy party in may be the best option after New Years Eve was so crowded and crazy. Hope everyone has a good week!! She spends the majority of her days organizing cake parties, potlucks & other random stuff that isn't work-related. Well, it is but it isn't *working*. She also spends WAY too much time going from desk to desk & office to office distracting/ annoying/ pestering other people who are trying to get some work done. I believe she thinks it's schmoozing & might help her advance. Her usual work attire consists of tight jeans, 5" heels & blouses that are usually a bit too tight & sometimes her belly hangs out of the bottom. Honest to goodness, I can't recall the last time she has ever worked a full 5 day work week in the years I've known her here. She's either out sick or has some other reason for not being here & I'm certain she doesn't truthfully report her time because there's no way she could earn enough leave to cover all the time she is out & especially at the rate she uses it. Today she comes in lamenting about the fact that she's been passed over for yet another promotion to supervisor. I want to tell her that you have to have good attendance (for one) & be present at work to be a supervisor. You have to be available to your staff. It really has not occurred to her. It seems it has to whoever does the hiring though. She may not be getting caught for all her time off, but they are obviously aware of it since she can't land a promotion. don't you work for the govt why is she coming to work with Jeans and a belly shirt, so basically she does nothing huh???
