MrsTee posted the [full version of the] instructions I'm following. I filled out TaxAct & TurboTax (Deluxe) and they both have the exact same refund amount. I don't want to pay for the Deluxe one, so I'll stick with TaxAct & file as soon as those 1099s come in. So it seems that the difference in our situation is that your Husbands aren't LPR's until the AOS is complete correct,a nd ours entered as LPR's? I think that is what had me all confused, and the verbiage in the pub 519 but I got it now. My 1099's haven't come in yet either I want to file now! Well today one of my fellow Engineers hollered at me!!!!!! Our Network went down Monday and anyone who has to VPN in to the network from home couldn't send or recv email. So I had to work for the team and needless to say there was a lot of issues because this one particular engineer is always clueless so there were conflicts in the scheduling of the VOIP testing. So today a Sales person calls me questioning about an issue and I deflected him to the other Engineer as its not my account. Well anyhoo this other engineer calls me and tells me I caused the issues cause I sent the email. EXCUSE ME ??? the issue is he never followed up with the customer when he was able to log into the network. How is that MY issue I'm trying to help you out!!! Its your customer meaning your responsibility. When I tried to convey that to him he told me to be quiet he is talking. Well Honey chile I had to hold my tongue cause my work voice was quickly changing and North Philly, Kingston, Port au Prince was coming out! This is the same fool who everyone complains about cause why, he don't do ish and never follows up! Well as soon as I banged the phone on his raas I called our Manager and told him and now there is a meeting on Monday cause he is out of order and I have strict instructions to NOT do anything in any form for him. No matter if I am doing it for the team or not cause when email is down the phone still works! He worked on my last good nerve but I think his days are numbered and now he done got on my bad side so yuh knoa mi gwaan wuk some JUJU LOL.. The funniest thing happened with my 12 year old nephew was here from TN. Ray called him fat boy and he turned around and called Ray Kunta Kinte. We all fell out laughing so hard that even Ray and his friends were laughing. They didn't even know who that was. That was the funniest sh*t.... I went away to NY last weekend and when I got home and got in bed with Hubby, he grabbed me and said honey Mi miss yuh fat body. LMAO Oh God Sus, I did that when Ray was still living in JA and he continued using one when he got here. Now, his feet are as soft as a babies azz.. No joke! Sunny Lawd, I will Damian if he utters those words Funny you should discuss this.. now I know you guys are a CR-1 and we are K-1. I used turbo tax and it didn't come up either, however, I need to look at I think its chapter 7, because I think there is a form we need to fill out saying that we agree to file jointly. Before I go any further let me find it.... I just filed mine yesterday and the IRS has accepted both my Federal and state.. Great I will be submitting mine shortly I can't believe how much I get with filing jointly. I can put away for the house and have a little fun ( just a lil) LOL Girl, you have to do whateva works. It's serious! Ray's feet are softer than mine now. Mexico, Latin & South America	Yardies a home and a farrin (Part 22)	I just got off the phone with the IRS cause I was doing my taxes online and they ask the question if you are not a citizen or resident alien. If you select that option it tells you to fill out a 1040 NR and I know he is not a non resident alien but I went though the whole scenario to make sure. Hr Block states: U.S. Citizen or Resident Alien You're a U.S. citizen if you were born in the United States, have been naturalized, or have at least 1 parent who was a U.S. citizen, and met specific conditions of U.S. residence at the time of your birth. Resident alien status is determined by possession of a green card and by meeting the permanent resident or the substantial presence test under immigration laws. ( that last statement is what threw me off) So of course I go to good ol publication 519 Further explanation on the H&R site I just found Usually nonresident aliens and dual-status aliens (part-year residents who are not U.S. citizens) can't file a joint return. However, a nonresident or dual-status alien married to a U.S. citizen or resident alien can file a joint return.In that case, both spouses are treated as full-year U.S. residents, and are taxed on their world-wide income. For more information, see IRS Publication 519 at www.irs.gov for details. Option to file as a U.S. resident If your spouse is a U.S. citizen or resident on the last day of the tax year, you can choose to file as a U.S. resident, and file a joint return with your spouse on Form 1040, Form 1040A or Form 1040-EZ. This includes situations in which your spouse is a nonresident alien at the beginning of the year, but a resident alien at the end of the year. Using this option might reduce your tax liability because you can claim dependency exemptions and the standard deduction, but you will not be allowed to take advantage of any tax treaty benefits. See the discussion on how to make this choice on pages 10 and 11 of Publication 519. Called the IRS she did the presence test and he has been here longer than 183 days and entered as a permanent resident married to a US citizen so I can file 1040 jointly and not need to send any documentation to the IRS declaring wanting to be considered a resident alien for tax purposes as he is a resident. Lawd all this was working on my nerves LOL. Anyone on a CR1 care to chime in on this one, it made my head hurt LOL My coworker's Husband is from Antigua and she used Turbo tax and this issue never came up LOL and our Husband's have the same status. You really never know how you will react when something like that happens to you. I'm surprised how I reacted. The police said most people would have gotten out of their not me...if he didn't stop after mi brok im hand, then I would have drove off and he would have ended up under my back right tire. I am so glad he was not with you either, too traumatic.... I believe this is exactly the same situation we are having here too! I will be praying for you guys and hope something comes through soon. The job situation is tough here, and there are so many people w/ plenty of experience & advanced degrees that are looking for work, so I know it's going to be 5 x as hard w/ him not having any work experience in US, and limited education. I'm praying though... Mrs P, stay prayerful I am a firm believer that the although we go on many interviews and send out applications, the Creator has a plan and the right job for us. At one point in my life I was unemployed for a year and felt helpless, went on many interviews and did well even second interviews and didn't get the gig. Then got a call out of the blue went on the interview and was hired on the spot and been here for 9 years! God is real and knows what we need and when we need it! So, my week has ended with a lot of stress, didn't sleep at all last night. Guy tried to rob me yesterday evening. He opened my passenger door when I was in my car and tried to take my purse which was logged underneath the cup holder between the driver and passenger seats -- well, lets just say he has a busted head and a broken hand. Ya'll know the "CLUB" you lock your steering well, it comes in handy as a weapon....TRUST me on that, I bet he'll never try to rob a woman again. Especially, this mad Jamaican woman. He didn't have a weapon and I think I was angry and pumped up I was scared...people came to help me, robber passed out, police came, I gave my written statement and left. Now, if my son was with me I would have ran him over without a second thought. Ya'll pray for me -- this could have been a lot worse. OH Lawny I am so sorry to hear this but I am so glad yuh bus him inna him clot! Bet dem a clown him inna deh prison!!!! I am so glad you are not harmed you are so blessed. Oh no I am sure your Husband is so upset since he is out of the country Wow, this is deep but God is real and was definitely watching! Mexico, Latin & South America	Yardies a home and a farrin (Part 22)	dang philly. i WISH i could steal away to be there and esp the PARTAY!!! way to get those low rates!!! if ya'll get there early, you will have plenty of time to get things together.. I wish you could come too, we got great airfare and my next flight is free on Air J finally! Their Frequent flyer miles program sucks! 30k miles is dara still coming??? i might need to get some ideas from you on something more simple but still beautiful.. cuz i am really second guessing spending this $2000..i want to do something for roger's fam, but i also want our time in JA to be free to form bonds between our children.. don't really wanna be so focused on a ceremony.. I don't know I'm gonna ride to the Burg and knock on her door and find out she ducking me! Q there is a little spot on the beach that we go to very secluded away from the tourist area only Yardies sneak through the fence like we LOL that's where we plan to do it, hope we can get there before the sun sets that would be perfect to say our vows as the sun sets! (don't nobody say nothing!!) so i told roger, i can just check back w/ you when i get thru and he was like.. or you can come pick me when you leave work and i will go with you.. and believe me he KNOWS how these offices stand.. ON MONDAY TOOO, i honestly don't know where this man comes from.. but i love it Yes its so grand girl LOL I know right I just called him and told him be ready when I beep the horn! That sounds great Philly... I can't wait to see the pics. How long are you guys going to be there and where are you doing the renewal? I'm trying to get myself right so I can look halfway decent in this dress! I'll be in Kingston for 8 days but we arrive on the 14th cause that was the cheapest day to fly LOL so it will be a rush to get it done on our day. We were planning on a beach ceremony at our spot in Negril, which is close to his Mom in Grange Hill so they can all attend too. Not doing anything elaborate just wanted our family and friends to attend this time and be apart of the ceremony. We do everything together, this morning he said he needed to go to the pharmacy that is around the corner but he wanted to wait for me LOL. I said Babe I don't need anything from the Rite Aid go with Q if you just wanted a walk buddy.
