ROFL @ Sus. She probably doesn't know bout the Portal showing recept topics. Nor does she know about Sus's side hobby as an investigative reporter.

I did too! That's why I had to ask who it was when she said Mrs Bootsy made cheesecake. I was like, dang, that's one talented cat!

Speaking of, did y'all hear about the cat that caught this bus same time every year for years. It got hit by a car & died the other day while on its way to catch the bus.

LOL I read both threads you know Sus is all over it!

LMAO you have me rolling over here about the cats! I do have cat Dagger stories from the weekend soon come, where is mi gyal Leah?

interview postponed until february baby looks great

I hope everything works out for her (F)

LMAO - I hear that all the time - the legs are too wide on what I bought! Have you tried Express Men? They have skinny leg pants, and if you get them on clearance it's a good deal

Yes Sus we checked there as well, he likes Forman Mills too because they have so many varieties he has never seen so many skinny jeans in one place before was in heaven haaaa we have to go before our trip too. Oh yeah Old Nay has them too

Sweetie I am here call me anytime, I get home about 7:00 I just have to run to Blockbuster for Damian or he will drap if I don't get a new release  oh the wifely duties never end!

Hey Phiilly! I see you've been pretty upbeat these last few days. Happy to see that cause I know you were distraught over the weekend.

Thanks Tam I am surely trying to stay upbeat, just trying to do what I can to help sending money and gathering donations. I am trying to stay occupied cause if I don't I sink back into despair.......

And that's where weight gain becomes expensive. We're going through that now. One of us said when Steven first got here: Let's not get you too many clothes now, cause you'll gain weight. But the other one of us didn't seem to believe it.

 girl yes it is cause he went shopping before he left Yard cause he didn't believe he would find jeans tight enough  Tight ain't the word for them jeans now :bonk:

I'm praying Den puts on some weight...I know my mama and dem gon be feeding him with all kinds of southern comfort foods!

Yes girl you know it, and whatever you do don't introduce him to cheese steaks! Now Hubby is so bad he don't order them any more he just makes them himself

At 9.23 am local time on Tuesday January 19, 2010 an earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale occurred 32 miles south of Bodden Town, Grand Cayman. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 6.2 miles. No tsunami warning was issued from this event.

At 10 am on Tuesday, the Director of Hazard Management Cayman Islands (HMCI), McCleary Frederick, stated that residents could return to offices and homes.

“Obviously in light of what has happened in Haiti, our residents are very sensitive to this type of occurrence. We are fortunate that the Cayman Islands appears to have come through unscathed, but it is reminder for everyone that they need to know how to respond during an earthquake. In particular it is important to duck under a strong piece of furniture, or at least protect the head with arms,” Mr Frederick said.

The Cayman Islands Emergency Communications Centre received approximately one hundred 911 telephone calls in the minutes following the earthquake on Tuesday morning.

There were no injuries and no reports of damage from the quake according to 911 telecommunicators. However, a sink hole in South Sound at Pirates Lair, near the Rugby Club, was reported to have been created by Tuesday morning’s earthquake.

Following the earthquake, the 911 Communications Centre was in immediate contact with the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre in Hawaii, which handles the Caribbean region, and was assured by the scientist on duty that there was no threat of a tsunami from this event.

Emergency Communications Centre Manager Brent Finster said, “9-1-1 calls received after the earthquake struck mostly dealt with people wanting to find out if an earthquake had really occurred or to notify us that they had evacuated their building and whether it was safe to go back inside. There were also a number of 911 calls regarding problems with telephone service.”

Mr Finster reminded the public that the 911 emergency system should only be used by persons who need police, fire or Emergency Medical Services.

Earthquakes do occur from time to time in the vicinity of the Cayman Islands, which are located near to the boundary of the North American plate, with the Caribbean plate sliding past to the south.

The Cayman Islands government has commissioned a seismic monitoring network, consisting of four state of the art seismograph stations. Two seismographs will be located in Grand Cayman, one in Little Cayman and another on the Island of Cayman Brac. One of these seismographs in Frank Sound is already fully functional and the earthquake was detected locally and the information relayed through to HMCI as expected.

In December 2004, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake occurred 20 miles to the south of Grand Cayman. Since the formation of HMCI in 2006 the agency has embarked on a proactive public education campaign to raise awareness of the earthquake threat in the Cayman Islands. Earthquake drills have been conducted involving both private and public sector entities and the program has also been instituted in government schools.

If any business organisations, schools or other entities would like to have HMCI perform an earthquake education session or drill to better prepare for this type of impact, then they are asked to contact Simon Boxall or Omar Afflick at HMCI (telephone 526 2027).

Sus this is so scary glad no one was hurt. There is supposed to be a special coming on one of the news shows in light of what has happened surrounding the most vulnerable places in the US to be effective by earthquakes. I need to find the info and send it to all.......

I know that feeling and I hear that music playing in the background often. I promised myself that I will get myself back in shape this year. I've definitely had more than my share of eating whatever I want for this long, it wouldn't kill me to modify things for the rest of my life to be the best I can be.

Hey Den's I am so feeling you girl, it's a struggle but you can do it. It's not an easy journey and never gets easier but its all about focus and will, I have done it before and I know I can do it again! You can do it!!!!!!

Philly, thanks, and Ok..... Joel just told me to go and rest my brains, he says I think tooooo much. I will make it work it some kind of way.

Mawning Yardies :star:
i thank god for this site and for putting me in touch with people who understand this process and how difficult it really is

Hey Mama I echo your sentiment!

philly your hubby look like he has thickened up since he reach the US...lol

so its been a year or two years, you all are renewing your vows in JA? how sweet, im so happy for you. time sure flies, it amazes me how long some of us been floating round the the yardie thread.

Yup we have been together for 3 years but will be married for 2, honey chile he has thickened up LOL since he has been here and you should hear him chat bout he gonna work out and get fit for the trip but he eating cakes and cheese steaks all day! CHO

He knows my struggle with weight and is supportive and I cut out all meat and foul and was eating only fish and he was doing well then it all went sour. I know when he gets home they gonna be in shock , he was so mawga but I will say I like the thicker version he looks better to me and he is tall so it falls into place nicely LOL but he can't fit any of his old clothes

Hey Philly, As you know in Kingston there isn't much room to grow a garden in some of the yards, so I keep trying to get my MIL to grow a container garden for some of the small plants, like tomatoes, peppers, and beans. But, I somehow am not getting thru to her about the concept of a conatiner garden, so while I am there in Feb, I will be trying to get this concept going.

She has a small ground garden out back, but with water being a problem, some things don't survive. I have a question thru, can she use water that was used to wash dishes to water her plants, or will the chemical in the suds kill them?

HUSH Roxcie the dishwater with the soap in it   noooooooooo.

I have a few plants growing in town too but where there is not dirt there is a way container gardens are great. I have plenty of plants in large pots because of the size and type, and some people prefer to garden that way overall. Please please please no soapy dishwater, I know excess water may be an issue but you would be surprised they don't need to be watered every day maybe twice a week is fine and along with the morning dew they are just fine. I have never watered my plants in country an they are just fine LOL  :star:

Are you trying to get into a dress you wore before? Or you bought one that gave you the opportunity to cut back to get into it?

Who is Mrs Bootsy?

-------

So I was trying not to eat after 7:30. It was easy the first few days. And it's fairly easy on many days. But anytime my husband orders food later (like the Pizza Hut last night), I give in.

Maybe I need to do like Philly & hide out in the bedroom while he eats outside, so I don't even see the food.

Hey Nat,

The latter, this is a new dress and its 2 sizes small LOL I could fit in the summer but that seems so far away so I just need to work it out and I will be fine.

Mrs Bootsy is my Second Mom she is my neighbor and Damian sends her boxes of cake mix cause she is a such a fabulous baker and she whips up all kinds of goodies for him during the day LOL. The downside is I have to come home to cheesecakes, cookies, carrot cakes and banana breads in my fridge and all I hear is the them music from psycho playing in the backround. OH THE HORROR!!!!! He has no shame he will eat it right in front of me and even share with cats that's why he had to go in the living room! :bonk:

Philly im trying to develop a green thumb, i love to plant flowers but when i moved into my house last year i dont know maybe the soil here needs some work cause none of my flowers grew except one little funky flower, it looked so pitiful...lol

i bought back callaloo seed from Ja so i think when spring comes im gonna try that, just send some tips my way :)

I had a similar issue years back where I had different types of soil in different areas of my garden, sandy, claylike and too water soluble. Some plants like certain types of dirt so you have to plant accordingly. I dug up alot of dirt bagged it up and carted it off to the dumpster and replaced it with pete moss, manure and garden dirt and that mix works for both my veggies and fruits as well. I find that most tropical plants like a sandy blend so I add that to the pots. Girl do your research you will find that you wont hit every time with every species but practice makes perfect!
I won't even tell you about my poor Ackee tree :crying: that was a miss :crying:

I tested with the collards to see if they come back , I have some callaloo seeds I will plant them this year and see how they fair, good luck girl you can do it!

I put Hubby out the bedroom until he ate his 2 Big @ss pieces of cake he husteled Mrs Bootsy into making for him while I was at work LOL. How the heck was that supposed to keep me on track I wanted to :bonk: him good

wow it is a full house... cant remember when i have been on and its full like this.

Morning to anyone i missed earlier. Hey 1luv ( waving)

Hey Philly, i had to laugh the other day when i see your pics of your banana plants...will they actually produce bananas on the inside?

Hey JAHoney LOL

Nope I haven't gotten any bananas because our summer season isn't long enough and they are sun deprived now but still hanging in there. As long as I water and manure them and keep the florescents on them they keep until spring ( this is my own process I developed . I have 4 Bananas in the laundry room in hibernation mode that are no longer in the dirt and still growing. I have a few on the veranda which I dead headed but as soon as the end of February reaches they will begin to grow they are cold right now but hanging in there. I have some Dasheen growing right now and some growth peaking through but I mix things in pots so I have no idea what they are LOL. I have one bird of Paradise that is over 7 feet but the cats won't leave it alone and they like to poop in there :luv: . I need to take pics on my indoor amazon I need a bigger house just for my plants

i feel ya nat, im the same..and like i said most of the time he handles our business cuz im at work (which has been GREAT to my annual leave, woo hoo) and he is WAYY more frugal than I with money.. i prefer convenience over low cost ANY day, just certain things he has a TOO LAID back attitude for my liking.. thats all..

Q D is very laid back too, and I am super hype, sometimes it drives me crazy  and I want to :bonk: I but other times its so needed to balance us

Confession time:

Someone called Steven regarding the Birth Certificates. She told him that FedEx showed that the package was left on our doorstep on December 17 (we ordered it Dec 9). Steven went & checked with the apt leasing office, but they didn't have it. So then we went through this big stack of paper (where the housekeeper puts any paper she finds) and lo & behold! There it is. Neither of us remember seeing it before, but the package was even open.

So we actually did get the 6 color copies of the birth certificate only 8 days after ordering them.

Should I email the RGD office & tell them we found it? Or just drop it, since they only have responded to 1 of about 5 email messages so far.

-----

Oh, and Dens. I saw the gold suit.

Nat that is great news, but I wouldn't bother but all your harasment may pay off and they send another shipment

i waited for him to finish the story but thats ALL he says.. i whispered, "tell her you just put some money in ur account friday"
he said OH, and told her..
so the lady says he had -5 in the account and he starts looking confused, i was like SERIOUSLY???
i asked her, do you show the 300 deposit.. she said NO. (heffa how you gonna just FORGET we just told you that)
and starts asking him did he have the receipt and what time he did it...

i was tripping, cuz i throw away all small pieces of paper, BUT thankfully this one was in my purse..

as she's looking, roger says.. why is it -5, thats not right..
i told him they should credit it back becuz its prolly atm transaction fees when we attempted to use the card..

so the lady comes back and gives no explanantion, just that he has 295 now..WHATEVER.. i WAIT for him to mention the credit.. HE DOESNT!!! so i did..

i told him later.. babes, what happened in there, i don't like to speak on ur behalf, but you were speechless in there???.. him say.. baby..they have cameras, SOMEBODY know i gave $300, mi nuh stress bout such tings..
  and what bout the $5?????
dat small tings babes, small tings. i could let that slide
:bonk: :bonk:

I broke down and put a peanut punch in the freezer. I'm in heaven right now.......YUM!!!!

yummmy stop teasing, when hubby makes it he makes me sit in the garden and crack all the peanut shells it takes me forever but I can't come in till I'm finished LOL

JG there is a time and place for every color and that shade of green does NOT belong on a car. And let me tell you the entire car was green...seats, dashboard, carpet, steering wheel...EVERYTHING!!!!! I felt like I was driving Kermit the Frog! (no smart remarks on that one either)

We do the general cleaning of the other rooms, but for our own room I do me, he does him. When we do laundry he helps me because I usually have more stuff than him. When I see stuff outta place in the kitchen, I just put it back where I feel it belongs. Don't nag Ells just put it where you need it to be. My peeve is (and don't laugh yall) Im the shortest one in my house so my kids and Steve tend to put things high up so I can reach lmao... I get so wound up, I use a spatula to knock it down so I can catch it. One of there smart rasses always says "you shouldve told me, I would have gotten it for you..." Well who the hamskin told you to put it up so dayum high!!! lol

Ok Tee you are killing me softly with HAMSKIN

don't worry girl.. at least it gives you a breather b4 the next episode.. thats a hard age even w/out the added drama of a new stepdad
i was just telling shems things are SLOWLY getting better on my side now.. i don't feel so torn anymore..
they are talking more and making an effort more (meaning the girls and roger)

That is great Mamma, doesn't it feel good when things come together!

You ain't lying about the breather before next episode oh I forgot there was actually one about a week and a half ago, but I am not letting them stress me like before

After a while, it doesn't come out so nice anymore. And then to be told I've never said anything before. Can you say, 'HOTTER THAN FISH GREASE'??

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.....I know that one.

You will love this, Philly. Finesse too.......he's got his kids 3 nights in a row this week, starting last night. I'm missing him in my bed every night (except when he's working firehouse). I took and sent day 1 picture. Which was pretty tame. Told him he's in trouble day 2 and 3 and to make sure the kids don't have his phone when I'm texting. I expect Thursday will be a good night :innocent:

 @ JG you were sexting

Yardies, here's my question of the day (mostly directed at the ladies)....

Do your guys help you out at home? Do they take the iniative themselves or do you have to ask? What do you do if they did do something but it wasn't quite right & you need to do it again?

Yes Damian is very good about helping out, the best part is I don't have to ask him he cooks, cleans, paints builds I am so blessed! Hmmm well communication girl if there is something you think can be done differently just let him know how you feel and tell him how you would like to see it done

Pulling up their uniforms? So does that mean they were in boxers??? Please I beg of you to give me details!!!

LOL  you so crazy they had on some sort of official uniform when they jumped into the fire suit! Looked like Dickies or something rugged

nothing really happened...i just have a very low tolerance for stupidity and everyone seems to be a dumb #### today....this one dude at my job specifically...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

You too, yeah shorty doo wop over here is a pain in mi raas!

It's not really that pretty of a picture, Dada, to think of some of them running around in their boxes......(OMG I think I may be blind now thinking about that)......and um, what kind of firehouse has all the guys running around in their underwear?????? Oh, that's just not right. Chi chi.

I had to do my Steven Segal moves and jump out the car hot mess! All I can remember about that car other than it was a piece of ####### was the guys I bought it from down North Philly had speakers installed instead of seats LMAO I wish I had a pic of that. My Mom was like ####### but I begged her to keep them
