Was feeling lazy today so made omelettes with okra, green onions, green peppers and cheese. Made hot baking powder biscuits to go with it. Still a satisfying meal, though.

What are hot baking powder biscuits, Kathryn?

Do you ever have a fridge & freezer full of food, but still have no clue what to make for dinner? That's me tonight. I'll think about it....

Zis is called lack of motivation to cook - it happens to me a lot laughing.gif

laughing.gif Yeah the pre-planned menu seems like a good idea, I just don't think I'd follow it as I rely mostly on my cravings when I'm deciding what's for dinner. If tonight is pasta night on the menu and I don't feel like it, I'll mess up the menu laughing.gif

It was a lot of fun!! We will most definitely be doing it again sometime. Our little crew just keeps on getting bigger and it's just really nice to hang out with people who understand what you're going through. You can try to explain it to someone who lives here, but they don't really understand.

EXACTLY!! No matter how many American friends I make here, it's not the same as being friends with Canadians and able to talk about stuff that only WE understand!! Oh and the restaurant Nev picked was really good, Tapas and delicious food. My favourite was the eggplant and lentil empanada with lots of spices, soooo yummy biggrin.gif

Hopefully you guys will accept my crazy self into your group after I move tongue.gif

Of course! The more the merrier biggrin.gif

I'm making this tonight, but subbing the ground beef with soy crumbles. I also add more veggies, like peppers and onions and corn

Beef Taco Bake
From: Campbell's Kitchen
Prep: 10 minutes
Bake: 30 minutes
Serves: 4

Ingredients:

1 pound ground beef
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell's® Condensed Tomato Soup
1 cup Pace® Chunky Salsa OR Pace® Picante Sauce
1/2 cup milk
6 flour tortillas (8-inch) OR 8 corn tortillas (6-inch), cut into 1-inch pieces
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (about 4 ounces)

Directions:

Cook the beef in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat until well browned, stirring often. Pour off any fat.

Stir the soup, salsa, milk, tortillas and half the cheese in the skillet. Spoon the beef mixture into a 2-quart shallow baking dish. Cover the baking dish.

Bake at 400°F. for 30 minutes or until the beef mixture is hot and bubbling. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese.

I hate "what's for dinner".....just sayin blush.gif

I love to cook but trying to find things that everyone is kosher with all coming to the table gets tiring.

I do love the crockpot ideas though....so easy.
Butternut squash ravioli sounds delish!

I hear that! I have to cook for a meat loving, vegetable hating husband and a meat hating, vegetable loving wife laughing.gif

Darn, I didn't take a picture! So should have though, it turned out pretty well for my first cake! The only little thing was when I was icing the cake, some crumbs came up into the icing.... but it tasted good, so that's the most important part! I'm definitely not a baker though wacko.gif

Dinner is whatever hubby wants, it's his birthday so I'll make whatever his heart desires, on this night only laughing.gif

So I ended up baking a Betty Crocker cake this morning, it's half-homemade since I had to add eggs, water and oil laughing.gif I also picked up some Wilton Buttercream Icing mix, you just add butter and milk. My stepmom told me it's the absolute best icing and she used that to ice my sister's wedding cake, so I'll ice it this afternoon. Then I bought M&M's (Grrrr I wanted Smarties!!) to spell out happy birthday! Oh and to top it off, picked up some choc and van ice cream biggrin.gif

Well tomorrow is hubby's bday, so tonight we're going out to eat at his (and mine) favourite Mexican jam. They have "Margarita Mondays" And the best chips and guac ever. So I can't wait for that! The reason we're going out the night before his bday is because I'm having the in-laws over tomorrow night for cake and ice cream

We went out again. I was about to make dinner and Mike called to tell me that someone rear ended him, so I had to drive over to the scene and grab Ethan's hockey equipment that was in Mike's car because he had practice. I gave the lady who hit him the stink eye. laughing.gif

But ya we had wawa hoagies after Ethan's practice.

Tonight we'll have what we were supposed to have last night black bean and lemon couscous and crispy fried tofu.

Yikes! Hope Mike is OK.

So I took a frozen Supreme pizza and added extra veggies (peppers, tomatoes, onions, yellow squash), more cheese (pepperjack) and more spices and that's what we had for dinner. Not too bad when you dress it up like that.

I do that too whenever I make a frozen pizza! Add my own veggies.

Well tonight I had cheese and spinach ravioli, it was quite good.

Oh! So exciting! I finally found a good Indian grocer!!! It's called House of Spices, but I was really disappointed to find they only carry one type of black pepper. I wanted to try some non-supermarket gourmet brands. I bought the one they carry, though, and will give that a try. Was disappointed to see they don't carry fresh samosas or pakora. I probably should have asked, though. Maybe they only get them on a certain day. I picked up some aged basmati from Pakistan, though! Looking forward to trying it.

Cool! I'm sure it won't be as good as Golden Groceries on Kerr though crying.gif I miss their fresh pakora and samosa

We've been eating ethnic all weekend, and I need something else to eat now. blink.gif I STILL haven't made that soup and sandwich dinner I wanted to make last week, so now THAT is what I'm going to make tonight.

BTW, what classifies food as "ethnic". I've been reading your post about the potluck, and was wondering blush.gif

Tonight, It's chicken strips and mashed potatos and gravy yummmmmmm.

I'm just guessing here, but I would think it's any type of food outside of "american" food. Like Indian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, etc. Anything not classified as American food

LoL, I thought that, but didn't want to assume. But then, that leads me to my next question..... What is "american" food? Hamburgers, fried chicken and meatloaf? I can't really think of too many things that are uniquely american.

Hmmm when I think of American food.... Pizza, burgers, hot dogs, fries, roast beef, steak, turkey.
