CanadaApropos of nothing
The DMV here is around the corner, I walked there. It's a nice and tidy office, I only waited about 5 minutes to be served. Unfortunately I got the biggest B1TCH on the planet helping me, she was the devil I swear. I still get mad when I think about how she treated me and I left in tears. Oh well, I got my DL and didn't have to do any tests, so I guess it worked out

Definitely celebrate BOTH !!! Not married, yet, but one will be in Vegas (later next month), the other in Campos dos Goytacazes Brazil next Spring.

Why not? Celebrate the love and commitment for one another!!! GRIN.

Ok, let me ask this another way. When you go to get something engraved with your wedding date on it, which will you chose? I am not being picky, it's just that we will most likely do a civil ceremony followed by a formal ceremony and I was wondering which date to use for personalized things.

We're getting our rings engraved with Sept. 4, 2010. We don't wear wedding rings now either, only will after our celebration with friends and family. To me, that is our "wedding" day. Nov. 22, 2008 was simply a legal recognition - but we still toast to it! On our 6-month anniversary we noted it biggrin.gif

OK I am resurrecting this thread to tell you all about this amazing product I bought. It's called the Clarisonic

www.clarisonic.com

So I found out about it when shopping in Sephora a few weeks ago. The lady told me all about it, raved about how amazing it is. She said Oprah uses it, Cameron Diaz, alot of celebs. Anyway I was like yeah sure, sales lady and went home with the brochure. I decided to do some research on it and was thorougly impressed. It's been featured in dozens of magaines and recommended by dermatologists and facialists.

It's basically like a big sonic toothbrush for your face. It can be used on all types of skin (acne, dry, sensitive, rosacea, wrinkles, etc) and it is safe for all skin types. So morning and night you put on your facial cleanser and you put this brush to your face. It beeps to let you know when to move (from forehead, cheeks, nose, chin). There are hundreds of little soft bristles cleaning oil, makeup, dirt out of your pores! It feels soooo good and soft when you're done. Then when you apply your moisturizer or lotion, your pores are completely open to take it in and it soaks in way better. It's so gentle it's not even exfoliating it's just deep cleaning, that cannot be done with your fingers.

Trust me I am not working for this company LOL I just rave about this product. Just google "clarisonic reviews" and read the hundreds of reviews on tons of different websites about how it really works. Clinical research shows that it minimizes appearances of pores, reduces acne, redness, makes skin softer. It's truly amazing, I don't know what I did before the Clarisonic and I haven't even been using it a full month.

Here's the down part - it retails for $195. BUT, when I take into account all of the $$ I've spent on dermatologist visits, prescription drugs, and tons of different skin care products this is a small price to pay for what it does. The brush heads are good for 4 months and it is completely waterproof you can use it in the shower. To me it was worth every penny and I just wanted you guys to know about it in case any of you have skin issues! Do your own research and see if it's right for you smile.gif They offer a 60 day money back guarantee if you're unsatisfied with it. Oh, and you can buy a few brush heads and other people in your household can use it

So it does work? I wondered about that - could it be shared bewteen my daughter and me - that would make it worth while.

It does work! You have to make sure to use it right when you feel the pimple forming though - red or sore spot but you can't really see it yet. Once it's past that stage and already developed, it's useless as I've tried it. But if I use it straight away, it never comes through and goes away! It's worth the $$ as I bought it in Feb and still have not replaced the cartridge tip (you can use it 90 times before replacement)

And it can be shared, as long as you clean the tip between each use (with rubbing alcohol or soapy cloth)

A couple of weeks ago Mike and I broke the garlic press because I had this bright idea to try pressing ginger in it... it was a quality press but the handle snapped off.

So yesterday I am at the grocery store and I pick up this garlic press that was $7.00 and I decided to buy it.

Mike looks at it and says hesitantly: "Well.... I guess that will do.... for now"

I thought, how great would it be if that garlic press lasted our entire lives! And I told him that... "You watch this 'cheap press' will last us forever! We don't need to spend an arm and a leg at Williams Sonoma for the same thing!" and I was quite pleased with my find.

Well, anyways, we bring it home and I get the first clove of garlic to press it and... SNAP the thing breaks in two.

Mike just looked at me and said: "Aww that was supposed to last us our entire lives" laughing.gif

laughing.gif That sucks!! I know this is bad because cooking with real garlic is a million times better, but I got tired of my fingers smelling for like 2 days after peeling and cutting it, so I've just started using the garlic in a jar in the juice and garlic powder in lieu of real garlic cloves. There is no comparision but anyway LOL

You bring up very valid points Tmix. The fact that we in Canada have such easy access to the US makes visiting even for a weekend much easier. I'm just thinking of myself personally I guess, I couldn't imagine moving and getting married after only meeting once or twice. I probably wouldn't be too surprised if it didn't work out, because there is alot you learn about someone in person and not on the phone/internet.

I've been noticing in some of the other forums the amount of "I want a divorce" posts going on lately.... It really makes me wonder about this whole situation. How many people are coming here and getting married after only meeting their SO one or two times? Shortly after they are married, they claim there is alot they didn't know about their SO and they now want a divorce. Alot of them want to stay here too, which also makes me wonder. I don't know how you could get to know someone well enough to marry after a few visits together. To me, this immigration journey was so serious and I put everything I have into it and never would have done this lightly. I'm not passing judgement on those who come here then shortly thereafter get divorced, I'm sure there is a good reason why. I'm just wondering why people would consider upheaving their whole lives, moving here to marry someone they apparently barely know.

And the entire game he talked super loud and yea it bothered me, but I didn't say anything. He was literally giving a play by play commentary the entire time, and you're going to tell my someone to sit down?? Sheesh. When they score you stand... its a known fact hello? laughing.gif

Oh anyone know the dancing fat guy you always see at flyers games?? We were really close to him... dude has pit stains the size of lake huron after one of his numbers tho its pretty disgusting.

rofl.gif Philly fans are really rude and horrible. I remember going to a Phillies game last year against the Mets and the fans were really cruel and yelling at the Mets fans. I was so embarrased to be there, they take their sports way too seriously. I don't get the need for it.

I've been to a mets/phillies game... I went to one last May.... INSANE! Fights were breaking out and everything.

Mike took me to a Leafs/Flyers game last year and there were a lot of leafs fans there and the Flyers fans were following them around after the game yelling: "THEY HAVE SARS!"

Boy am I glad I left my leaf gear home that night. laughing.gif

I want to experience an Eagles game. I heard those can be 100 times worse.

What the hell rofl.gif If I ever go to a Flyers game against the Habs (my fave team) I will be too scared to wear my Habs shirt and am leaving it at home. I don't want people yelling or screaming at me, especially Philly people!

Back from our game. Good game though.

Hey who has the most annoying fans of all time??? PHILLY!!!

I swear. The guy behind us kept telling my son to sit down, and Ethan would only stand up when they scored... like everyone else does. Finally at the 4th goal (yea the one before the two empty netters tongue.gif) Ethan stands up to cheer and the guy goes: "I CAN'T STAND THIS KID! SIT DOWN!" and well Mike and I got a tad mad and kind of went off. He's a kid, and last time i checked it was a HOCKEY GAME... WHEN THE TEAM SCORES YOU STAND AND CHEER!

I couldn't believe it, so I said: "He'll sit down if you shut up and stop giving us a play by play of the entire game" because the guy wouldn't shut up the entire time. For serious. He finally ended it and said: "Okay I understand... he's a kid"

It was kind of funny in a waste my time sort of way.

But it sure peeved me off.

What a freaking a$$hole!! Could you imagine him at a concert, trying to tell people to sit down? You stand at a concert, adn you stand when a goal is made!

Could I have had fatigue all along, and it just be flipped now that I take the pill at a different time of day? Am I just a baby? this is so silly.. I had to switch brands of pills when I moved down here, but honestly been on these things since 13 and NEVER had a problem before. sad.gif

Hmmmm.... are you taking them before bed? That might help. I used to get nausea and feel like ####### when I took them in the day, my doc suggested take them before bed. Then the side effects occur while you're sleeping, and when you awake they've (hopefully) worn off.

Yep.. I'm taking them in the evenings.. the symptoms I have are almost 20 hrs later.. right before I am ready to take a new pill.

That's really odd.... Maybe they just don't agree with you, maybe you'll have to try another brand or discuss the issue with your doc.

I saw "He's just not that into you" tonight, it's so cute and funny!! I thought it might be cheesy but it's actually really sweet. And lots of big names in there.

I use vinegar in all of my household cleaning and my husband ALWAYS complains about the smell of vinegar! tongue.gif

Its the best thing ever to clean with though! No streaking, helps pull up stains. We have this air freshener at work though that we just got....anyone remember the play dough flower factory? How they scented the playdough with that stupid fake flowery scent? This air freshener smells JUST like that stuff.

It's also the best on fries.... MMMM lafleurs!!
