HA!!!!!!!

YOu just made me laugh out LOUD!!!

I was planning on wearing the jersey I got last time I was there.

Little secret for you all? My love of the Ravens is partly due to affiliation BUT I love the fact that an NFL football team is named after a great literary reference.

But the Raven, sitting lonely on that placid bust, spoke only
That one word, as if its soul in that one word he did outpour
Nothing farther then he uttered; not a feather then he fluttered--
Till I scarcely more than muttered: "Other friends have flown before--
On the morrow he will leave me, as my Hopes have flown before."
Then the bird said "Nevermore."

Ugghh I totally know how you feel! I moved all of my life posessions into my sisters garage and moved in with my Mom for the 4 months before I moved, and I was living out of a few suitcases. It's good to have, but I didn't have any "proof" of our upcoming wedding, you don't need actual proof but of course it doesn't hurt! Only because many people do a quickie civil ceremony before their larger wedding with family and friends, so there is often no proof to bring. Actually I did bring an e-mail from the JOP confirming the date we'd be at his house to be married so I guess that was my 1 item of proof. So excited for you all going to Montreal this week!

Question:

I read somewhere that it won't look good if you already had your ceremony because then you have to proof somehow that it wasn't legal.

Clearly I am not going to lie, but should I include photos of our wedding as proof of relationship??? Or is that opening a bag of worms??

I mean since it wasn't a legal wedding, then you're not married, so you can have all the ceremonies you want but until it's legal, you're not married, if you know what I mean LOL

OK, is it just me, or what????? wacko.gif Someone is wrong, either US or Canada lol!

I went to the Post Office, the largest Xpress post mailer they have is 390mm x 295mm. US letter says it has to be 314mm x 394mm. But both measure 12x15 inches. I know we use different metric conversions for some stuff... but a diff in mm's????

Maybe cause I haven't had my Timmie's yet? lol! wacko.gif

So I got the 12x15 inch regional mailer, with signature required. I filled in my info as recipient. Should I fill in the Consulate as sender and then tear off the tracking number? Or do we wait to do that at the Consulate? And if I do fill it in, do I use the actual Embassy address?

Also, should I put my name and case# on the back of my photos now, or wait for when i'm there?

I'm not taking a purse with me, I will take a wallet and car keys. I plan on putting my file in one of those Earth Friendly LuLuLemon bags lol! I figure, if they make me get rid of it, I won't miss it smile.gif

Don't fill in the "FROM" field, they do that. Only fill in the "TO" portion.

Why not put the info on the photos now? It will be easier than rushing there to do it.

Oh and don't tear off anything! They will give you whatever, but write down the tracking # now to be safe.

I don't know, Sapphire, I think I'd rather lick my dogs bum then drink Lipton tea. It's awful. (but then again, I'm really british so..)

rofl.gif I was dissapointed when I first tried "Tetley" Tea here and realized it wasn't the same at all. So ever since my first trip home, I bring back a jumbo box every few times, it has 350 teabags in it so lasts me quite awhile. It's the only tea I like, Lipton doesn't taste the same to me.

I got that email today too! I hope nothing changes so far the customer service has been great!

Question for all you Customhouser's, I did my first transcation and I am just wondering if it usually takes a bit longer for the payment to be processed the first time around? How fast usually do they process your transaction? The email I got confirming the booking says the funds need to be IMMEDIATELY available.

It took them 4 business days just to take the funds out of my CAD account to be sent EFT to USA. Then got an email saying it was processed and the next business day (will be)the payment was "sent". I guess we will see how fast my US bank processes the EFT, if it nots there in 5 business days customhouse can put a trace on it. Has anyone ever had any issues?

It does take about 5-7 days to see the money in the US account.... For EFT that's normal. The funds do need to be available right away, but it takes a few days for the money to come out of your account. I've never had any issues, I've done dozens of transactions over the past year!

OMG I loved the ####### in a box skit, that was awesome....

So the stripper was pretty funny, he showed up as a cop not a pizza man as thought. He just danced around, hooted and hollered, shaked his booty, only there for 10 minutes! All in good fun though, we had a great laugh and I think the bride to be enjoyed it LOL They do make easy money, 10 minutes of dancing and you get cold hard cash! Pop I loved your blog posting, it's so well put and I do agree with alot of what you said. If your man is gonna cheat, he's gonna cheat and it's more likely to happen with a girl from work in the middle of the day than at 3am at a strip club, so true. Of course there are 'bad seeds' in every profession, not just the adult industry. I think you're a great writer smile.gif

And to those who judge and make nasty comments: you must have something to worry about in your own life, because why else would you care or judge what another person does for a living. It doesn't affect you so go pass judgement elsewhere yes.gif

I once asked this a long time ago, but... how do Canadians tip strippers? In the U.S., you generally walk up to the stripper dancing on stage and give her a few bucks. Sometimes she lets you stuff the cash into panties and other times you can just toss it onto the stage.

The problem I see with Canadian cash is that there are $1 and $2 coins. So what do Canadians do? Do you fling loonies at her? Maybe part of her routine is avoiding a barrage of coins? tongue.gif

Wow this thread is moving fast!

Nev I love the story how you hit the man's thang, that's awesome! laughing.gif

I don't mind if my husband goes to a strip club for a friend's bachelor party, he has a few times, that's what alot of guys do at bachelor parties. No big deal, nothing to worry about. He told me the one they went to in FL was really dirty and some of the girls were fat and gross. Anyway, obviously if he enjoyed it and went alot I'd be pissed but for a bachelor party it's fine. "Look, don't touch" is the rule laughing.gif As long as he TELLS me, I don't want him lying about going because that would be wierd. He told me he was going in FL and I said have fun!

I've been to a few male ones and while I don't find the guys hot by any means, it's a fun/funny night out with the ladies when I have gone. It's all in good fun!

CanadaMixed feelings about having civil wedding first
I kind of like having 2 anniversaries actually, more reason to celebrate! smile.gif We did our civil ceremony at the home of a justice of the peace, I found him on the internet. He was a sweet man and is doing our other wedding as well! Of course it's not ideal, but sometimes in this situation (immigration) you don't always have a choice! I had to accept alot of stuff I didn't originally want to do, but realized that's how it had to be, and I don't regret it one bit! I am a stress case so there was NO WAY I would have been able to plan a wedding in the US while going through immigration and not knowing the date I would be approved my Visa, if I would be approved, etc.

Sure, you can say that to the IO. But it's up to the IO to let you in or not, and then you'd have a wasted flight (if you're flying) and they choose not to let you in
JillAFemaleCanada2009-09-09 11:26:00
CanadaVisit US without activating K1 Visa?
Technically, no. You're not allowed. This question has been posed at some peoples interviews, and the interviewer says no, they can delay issuing the Visa but it's not allowed. Once you have the K-1 and cross the border, it has to be activated. Saying that, a few others have tried to go across with it and not activate it and it's entirely up to the BG. They can let you in or deny you, or make you activate it. Personally, I wouldn't chance it (being turned away). Obviously processing times for Montreal really fluctuate...I saw some old post where people complained that it took 4-6 months to get an interview and many of them had their USC SO write their congress-men and -women with inquiries and complaints. Personally, I do not buy this high volume of cases argument...it is not like from day to day they have suddenly noted 200% or 300% increase in workload...it's been very well know for a few years that MTL is in high demand. Why don't they increase capacity? Obviously it is possible, if cases in Philipinnes (and this is one of the busiest consular posts) wait 2-3 days for their interview dates...Canada as a bordering country will always account for a significant portion of US immigration so it is very hard to understand why only one consulate in a whole huge country processes IV cases...it seems like only one consulate in Mexico processes immigration visas as well but for some reason they do not seem to have the same problem with scheduling and interviewing...and imagine the workload they must have.

Well you know Canadians. It's not like they're complainers. devil.gif
