Yea his coaches were okay.

Today was the first time the parents called each other names.. I was staying out of it until some lady told my husband to shut up. All he was doing was telling her to calm down and that it was just a game.

She was so trashy and she looked like a walrus.

But his team was great, they worked together. Yesterday they won in overtime and today they just kicked a$$. It was really exciting to watch. My mom really enjoyed it too, glad she was here to catch these games.

Ok, we just got back from a really fun time at Karen and Joel's place in the Georgia mountains. Their new (ok, not so new anymore but still newish) house is really nice. They have a terrific property - lots of land with a bit of a treed area at the side and a pasture behind so they won't have to put up with crowding neighbours. Joe's parents were visiting from Nova Scotia and brought down some lobster and scallops with them so we had a lobster dip with the chips and then scallops wrapped with bacon and grilled along with lots of other good food finished off with Tim Horton's coffee. Joe got to taste Molsen's Canadian beer as well. Joel had made some video collages of various Canadian tv shows and commercials so we watched segments of the Beachcombers, This Hour has 22 minutes, Royal Canadian Air Farce, hockey cartoons - and Tim Horton and I AM Canadian commercials including some I hadn't seen before. I haven't laughed that much in a long time! One of their friends even made a peanut butter chocolate cheesecake and decorated it with a red maple leaf to help celebrate an early "Canada Day'. It wasn't too bad of a drive - a little over 100 miles - but it was all highway except for the last little bit and traffic was only bad in two sections so we made good time. Thanks Karen and Joel for the invitation. We had a great time.

That sounds so fun! Are Karen and Joel VJers? unsure.gif

laughing.gif Front Street is notorious for towing, it's even worse than University. Lots of side streets though, arrive early and have piece of mind. If not, go to Medisys which only has afternoon appointments and is in the Deer Park area. You aren't likely to be towed if you park on a side street.

??? This confused me.

LOL, instead of Sieden, he's saying go to Medisys who has afternoon appts. Sieden only has AM appts

"It's a private event" That doesn't make sense, as Peachy is family now which means her family is your family, etc. It's not like you're inviting strangers off the street! And isn't Christmas about family, and being together?

Wow this boggles the mind... can't say much that others haven't said, just that I'm happy your fiance has your back! My Mum was down this past Christmas as I had no AP yet, and she was welcomed with open arms to my in-laws celebration. If they had said she wasn't welcome to Christmas dinner, I would have been shocked/horrified/hurt beyond belief, and lost utter respect for them. And I certainly would NOT have attended without her! I tried to get a jetboat to Sicily when I was in Malta back in the 90's but it was pretty much impossible because at that time there were air sanctions against Libya so all the boats were being diverted to Libya instead. That's awesome that you've been there too!

You guys will probably hate me for posting this, but it's been my favorite picture for a few months now. Any time I need a pick-me-up, I just pop it open and can't help but laugh my a$$ off. The back story - a friend of mine at work was listening to one of the hair band stations on XM and was wondering who sang this particular song. I knew it but couldn't think of who it was, so we Googled it. It was a band in the 80's called Giuffria who I vaguely remembered. When we saw the pic, we immediatley busted about laughing. Were they stuffing their jeans with socks?? #######?? The one guy even appears to have... um... trying to figure out how to say this nicely... a bit of ball separation. Yay for Thanksgiving!! This is my first away from home, so I actually made a grocery list today and I'm going shopping tomorrow to buy all my items, I'm making Thanksgiving dinner Sunday night smile.gif Just for hubby and moi. I don't feel like doing it Monday since I'm working and won't get a chance to do everything. So I'm making turkey breast for hubby, mashed potatoes, broccoli, string beans, gravy, stuffing, and a few other veggies for me biggrin.gif I make a vegetarian stuffing and gravy too so I can eat that as well!

As for Christmas, my first one here my Mom came to visit which was wonderful. So I got to spend it with Mom and hubby. This year, we're both going to Canada for Christmas as it falls on a Friday which is perfect. His family is totally fine with it, we decided to take turns on holidays (like one xmas here, next there, etc.) and they are understanding that he won't be with them every holiday. I would be totally fine though, like Sapphire and Sprailenes, to spend Christmas apart from him. My family is too important to choose my in-laws over them! Christmas is just another day, and I don't need to spend them all with him.

Krikit, I'm glad you decided to go home! That's great

Apply for your SSN as soon as possible.... And apply for EI like the DAY you arrive!! The 90 day countdown is on the day you cross. If you're eligible, of course.
