Ok, a better way to phrase the question. Are the court papers required? All she has are the contracts with annotations. I am wondering if she has to go and get them from the court.

I have a question. When my fiance goes in for her interview I know one of the documents she needs is her annullment. Does she take the marrage contract with annotations alone or does she also need the court papers from the annullment?

I have been looking at the cases here and see that most of the interviews end up with AR's. This is a bit worriesome for me. Why is this? Is there a thread that details the reasons for AR's so I can do what I can to prevent it?

Hi, I am waiting for my packet 3 from USE, Kuala Lumpur, and I just want to know the US embassy will send the packet 3 by post to me, right? And I don't need to go to the USE in person to pick up the packet, right? As I live far away from Kuala Lumpur, and need to fly there. Please advice. Thanks.

This is going to get moved as soon as an organizer sees it. But to answer your question, yes they will mail it to you.

CanadaSicko - Don't Cry - get angry and do something about it
Sicko or Wacko?

Michael Moore’s new film, Sicko, which premiered at Cannes last week, is receiving the expected rave reviews. In one particularly interesting review Time Magazine reporter Richard Corliss rejoices that “the upside of this populist documentary is that there are no policy wonks crunching numbers….”

Yes, we wouldn’t want anyone who knows something about health care reform to point out that:

* Moore frequently refers to the 47 million Americans without health insurance, but fails to point out that most of those are uninsured for only brief periods, or that millions are already eligible for government programs like Medicaid but fail to apply. Moreover, he implies that people without health insurance don’t receive health care. In reality, as Michael Cannon and I have pointed out, most do. Hospitals are legally obligated to provide care regardless of ability to pay, and while physicians do not face the same legal requirements, few are willing to deny treatment because a patient lacks insurance. Treatment for the uninsured may well mean financial hardship, but by and large they do receive care.
* Moore talks a lot about life expectancy, suggesting that people in Canada, Britain, France, and even Cuba live longer than Americans because of their health care systems. But most experts agree that life expectancies are a poor measure of health care, because they are affected by too many exogenous factors like violent crime, poverty, obesity, tobacco and drug use, and other issues unrelated to a country’s health system. Americans in Utah live longer than Americans in New York City, despite having essentially the same health care.
* Moore downplays waiting lists in Canada, suggesting they are no more than inconveniences. He interviews apparently healthy Canadians who claim they have no problem getting care. Yet nearly 800,000 Canadians are not so lucky. No less than the Canadian Supreme Court has said that many Canadians waiting for treatment suffer chronic pain and that “patients die while on the waiting list.”

* Moore shows happy Britons who don’t have to pay for their prescription drugs. But he didn’t talk to any of the 850,000 Britons waiting for admission to National Health Service hospitals. Every year, shortages force the NHS to cancel as many as 50,000 operations. In a Cato Policy Analysis, John Goodman noted that roughly 40 percent of cancer patients never get to see an oncology specialist. Delays in receiving treatment are often so long that nearly 20 percent of colon cancer cases considered treatable when first diagnosed are incurable by the time treatment is finally offered.
* Moore calls the French system “free,” convieniently ignoring the 13.55 percent payroll tax, a 5.25 percent income tax, and additional taxes on tobacco, alcohol, and pharmaceutical company revenues that fund the system. (Despite the high taxes, the system is running an €11.6 billion annual deficit.) The French system is not even free in terms of what patients pay. Its patients pay high copayments and other out-of-pocket expenses, and physicians are able to bill patients for charges over and above what the government reimburses. As a result, 92 percent of French citizens have private health insurance to complement the government system. Yet there remain shortages of modern health care technology and a lack of access to the most advanced care.

I’ve invited Moore to come to Cato and debate the issue. Of course, he is probably too busy to talk with a mere policy wonk…

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionQuestion on children and filing for removal of conditions.
I am thinking ahead to when I will file for Luz and Robins ROC forms. Robin is now 17 but when we file he will be 18. Is Robin included on Luz's form or does he need to file his own form? Obviously if he can file on Luz's form we can save ourselves the $575 fee.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionQuick question
I am about to file for Luz and Robins lifting of conditions. They came here on a K1 and K2 visa at the same time. Robin is now 18. I can still include him on Luz's application? The total fee for the application and both biometrics is $625. I can just make one money order for all the fees? I think the answer to both questions is yes but I just want to make sure before I mail it off. Thanks.

Also, you need to do this ASAP. Do not wait until your GC expires. You are eligble to file right now if your GC expires in Oct. If you wait until after your GC expires you will be out of status and deportation procedings will begin.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionDifferent Bio dates for Luz and Robin
I just talked to the USCIS. They said the same thing sister Len said, both go at the same time. If they have the time they will do both, if they don't have the time he must return on the 15th. It would really suck if we had to come back. I only have one more vacation day left and as it is I will be taking a day off without pay if they need an interview. She also said that he may get a different interview day if one is required since he is over 18 now. Jeez, I love the USCIS.

Luz got her Bio appointment of Sept 3 last week. Today her son, Robin got a letter saying his Bio date is Sept 15! Now, we live 3 hours from Naperville where we must go and I don't understand why they would split up the appointments like this. Has anyone else gotten split dates for mother and son like this? Does this mean there will be separate interview dates?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionLuz and Robins's GC in hand, Luz's has wrong birth date on it.
Luz and Robin got their GC's today. Luz's card has the wrong birth date on it. The year is wrong. I looked at the USCIS web site and it looks like she needs to file an I-90 to replace her GC. It says the fee is $290 plus $80 for a bio fee. I looked at the I-751 form that we filed and the date is correct on it. Does this mean we must pay an additional $370 to fix a USCIS screw up?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionMy son's name is not mentioned in my Biometrics Appointment
QUOTE (Pinay Wife @ Sep 27 2009, 06:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I filed my I-751 in August and received my biometrics appointment recently. I noticed that my dependent son, who turned 19 this year and away at university, is not mentioned in my appointment. I called him to ask if he received any communication from the USCIS and he replied in the negative.

I was wondering that since he is already of legal age and lives away from us, if he will be sent to a different Service Center near the university. The I-751 form did ask if my son lived with us (No) and asked for his address (I gave his dorm address).

My biometrics is on October 8. Should I just pick up my son from university (it's a 7-hour drive) and take him along with me for biometrics?

For those with younger children, were they required to do biometrics when you filed for removal of conditions? Did their names appear in your appointment letter?

Thanks for any feedback.

When Luz sent her 751 she included Robin on her form. He is now 18. They sent a different bio notice with a different appointment date. Since he still lives with us it was sent to our address. We took him with us on Luz's appointment date and they let him take his biometrics that day. I have heard that not all offices will allow this. Your son should get his own bio letter with his own date.

Luz did her Biometrics today. As some of you may know, Robin got a Bio date of Sept 15. They did allow him to do his today and save us another 6 hour round trip. I found it amusing that they made it a point to tell him that this is the only time they would do this. The next time he would have to come on his appointment day. I didn't bother to tell the fool that this would be the last time he would need to do a biometrics since this is for removing conditions or point out that they would have to have the memory of an elephant to remember him. Oh well, all's well that ends well.

If you're planning to naturalize them - or just renew the 10 year GC - another round of bio.

If they can remember Robin 3 years from now when he naturalizes then more power to them. The whole problem came about because they gave Luz and Robin different bio dates. A three hour drive each way and missed work for each appointment was the rub. I am glad they allowed it but it was amusing that they tried to make it look like they were doing us a big favor. There were only 2 other people in there at the time, it wasn't like they were swamped.

The letter that Luz and Robin got didn't mention a passport, only a green card and another form of ID. We didn't have theirs today and they didn't ask for it.

As you can see above Luz finally got her NOA1, in fact she got two copies of the same thing. wacko.gif
There is a contradiction in the wording that I don't understand. Let me quote it and ask if everyone else has the same thing.

QUOTE
In order to further process your petition, you will be receiving an Application Support Center (ASC) appointment notice with a specific time, date and location to capture your fingerprints, photo and signature. You MUST wait for your appointment notice before going to the ASC for biometric processing.

The next paragraph seems to say the exact opposite.

QUOTE
NOTE: Conditional resident applicants, including conditional resident dependents residing overseas pursuant to military or government orders WILL NOT RECEIVE and ASC appointment notice. To complete biometric processing, these applicants must submit the required items listed on the I-751 form instructions.

To be clear we submitted a lot of evidence with the application. What does this mean? Is this the same thing everyone else got?

Gary the second paragraph is for people who live overseas. You eveidence is received and nothing nmore is needed. You know the USCIS always wording things in such a manner as to confuse peeps smile.gif Yes the letter is the same that we received

Cool, I forgot how stressful dealing with the USCIS can be. Thanks for the reply. Three cheers for the last step finally started!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAugust 2009 I-751 filers

Ok, we are starting to be a little nervous. Last week Robin got a letter dated Aug 10 that he is included on Luz's application but as of yet we haven't gotten Luz's NOA1. Lost in the mail maybe?

PhilippinesHelp?? Passport not attached to Envelope
QUOTE (Arrta @ Mar 12 2008, 09:50 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Charry just got her Passport from Delbros.
When she got the Passport it was attached to the envelope that you can not open.
The delivery guy said it was fine to detatch the passport from the envelope!!!

One of the guides I have read about the CFO Seminar says something along the lines of when photocopying your passport becarefull not to detatch the envelope from the passport or you will have to have it reattached at the embassy...

Should I be worried that Charry did this?
Anyone who has gone through the process already, have you had trouble if this was done?

Thanks

Marc

You should get an envelope within an envelope. The brown one with the corner cut off is the one you should NOT open. The one that has the passport ( the outer one) is OK to open. As long as you do not open the brown one with the corner cut off you are fine.
