K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEvidence of meeting in person is must?

Me and my fiance'e met last year(2005) dec. but at that time we didnt were not sure about us and we didnt know we will require a proof for K1 visa petition?
what kind of proof one can give to prove we have met in last 2 years?we dont have pictures together.
She came to India and we met here thats it.
In case this PROOF is necessary ...and we dont have it...is there any other way that she doesnt have to come back to India just for this proof as she is a student as well as she is working so its not easy for her to come back.

We read about involving international marriage broker but we dont know any thing about it...can any one suggest us?Preferably if you can give any such broker locaed in Mumbai city of India?

awaiting your responses and guidance.

Airplane ticket stubs, hotel receipts, ATM withdraw receipts and passport stamps are primary evidence. Pictures are secondary evidence but they usually want that also. If you have all the above but not the pics I would put a letter of explanation in with it saying you don't have pictures so you don't get an RFE asking for it. I don't know if this will be enough. Maybe a certified letter from someone that was there and saw you together may be in order. I would call the USCIS and ask.
The marriage broker thing refers to the IMBRA law. If you used one to meet for the first time you must state so on your I-129F. It isn't used to prove you met.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat to expect?
NOA1 will come an average 2-3 weeks after filing. It has been longer but most happen quickly.
NOA2 Well, things have picked up speed lately. It can take 2-4 months now.
Package 3 and 4 The Philippines take about 4 months now from the time they get the petition. By the time you get your approval who knows what it will be.
Hang in there. Patience is the name of the game with this.
Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTouched...
The only way to tell if you have been touched more than once in any single day is if the status changes. I had that the day my NOA2 came. In the morning I got a "touch" IE the date changed and then later that day the status changed to reflect my approved petition.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresOther Names Used
You should put your "legal" name on the application and on the question where it asks "other names used" I don't know if you would put your nic name there. I don't think it really matters much as long as all the official record names match. If you used your nic name in an official way, like DL or loan apps then I think you should put it under the other names used line. When in doubt ask the USCIS or a lawyer.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLost job.

My fiance has sent off the I-129F pack. Since she has sent it I have had to leave my job. I am now unemployed. Is it worth calling the USCIS and telling them so they can make adjustments to my employment status? Or is it ok to leave it as it is? Will the fact that I'm unemployed make a difference to the application?

Thanks ahead of time guys!

It shouldn't make any difference with the petition and I wouldn't call them to tell the USCIS about it. Your employment status comes into play at the interview. If your the USC you will need to make sure you have a steady job or a co-sponsor or your fiance will not get a visa. If your the fiance then it will not matter at all, just inform them at the interview if they ask.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWho can help me!!!
Your in what is called "name check hell" It's unfortunate but it happens. Since it has been this long you may consider contacting your senator or congressman. They may not be able to speed things up but they can get better information than you get over the phone at the NVC.
Good luck!

I would really like to see all the march and april people get their NOA2's. First because they have waited longer than they should have already and second because I would like to leave march and april off the list. It's getting really long now!

No one is more familiar with this data that you are so if you are comfortable with leaving March off, then I trust your judgement, CSC timeline dates are now listed as April, so any Marcher left has the means now to push for an answer beign outside of processing times right?

Thats what I was thinking. Anyone left from March now has a legit reason to ask the USCIS to investigate.

I am thinking about leaving March off for next week and start adding Oct NOA1's. Anyone have any objections to that? There are only a handfull of March NOA1's left and I suspect they might have problems other than just being late. Let me know what you think.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEnglish translations of foreign documents

Someone correct me if I am wrong here but I always thought that any translation needs to be done by a "certified" translator? I know that whenever something gets translated to many times errors get introduced. (lost in the translation) You better make sure the translation complies with the requirements.

I believe the requirement is actually "certified" by someone who is competent (or some word similar) in both languages. I know it does not have to be "certified" by a translator who has been "licensed" by some governmental authority. If I were competent in both Ukrainian and English there would be no technical restriction on me doing it myself. It seems the rules are a little "loose" in this area. Anyway, she had hers done at a business that does this professionally and the translations are full of official looking seals.

This is what the I-129 form says. Not really sure what the standard it though.

Translations. Any foreign language document must be accompanied by a full English translation that the translator has certified as complete and correct, and bythe translator's certification that he or she is competent to translate the foreign language into English.
