USCIS Service CentersNebraska is much faster than CSC
My senator said something about rearranging the way petitions are done. I got the imbression that Nebraska will no longer do I-129F petitions.

Well some good news I think - a friend of mine just received an email that her approval is being sent out - dated May 16. Her application was sent on 3/3/06 and she received her NOA in the mail on 3/8/06. Since her dates are so close to the IMBRA cutoff dates, it's hard to know if she just made it in under the wire or if this is news of a post 3/6 approval.

If it's after March 6 and she just got it, it can mean only one thing. Nebraska is moving again!!

Stella,
Have you contacted the service center yet? Since you are way behind the timeline it seems that SOMEBODY at the SC can help you. Maybe your file just fell behind a desk or something? Hears hoping that you get a speedy response.

I understand what you are saying Linababe. The way you are saying it gets done in your office is the most fair, efficent way. But the fact remains that some are getting fast service and others like Stella wait. Just putting forth a supposition. I have no facts to back it up.

I think, and it's only my speculation, that when applications come in they put them in a pile. When the pile gets big enough someone grabs it and starts working on it. If you are lucky enough yours is on top because it was the last to be put on the pile, if your unlucky yours is on the bottom because it came in first. Only my thoughts, I may be all wet.

When I say the case was touched all it means is that someone at the USCIS did some work on it. The status didn't change, just someone there did some work on it. To find out when your case has any work done on it go to https://egov.immigra.../jsps/index.jsp and create a customer account. You will see when you log in a date that your case was last updated. When it changes that is a "touch". I do have a lawyer but I doubt that it has any affect on when the cases are proccessed. I just wanted to avoid any RFE's or AR's due to a mistake on my part. Good luck to you!!!

Ok my US Fiance has an account there for email notification can i also set up an account? I just go there and type in our case number and i get that message i posted in last message.

Lina (UKC)
[/quote]

Log into the account your fiance created. It will give you the last date your case was worked on. Simply typing in the case number in the tracking will only give you the status.

My case got touched today! Is that normal to have it touched so soon? Does that mean they are working on it already??????? Oh man this is killing me!!!

When you say "touched" does the online status change, if so what to? how do you know it has been touched?
Our case still says the following:

Current Status:

Your I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was received on March 1, 2006. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It is taking between 60 and 90 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete.

And this is worrying me because our NOA1 was before yours :( I did also notice from the timeline searches that people with fiance's in places like phillipines, canada etc are getting their NOA2 and being approved alot sooner than where the fiance is in the UK. I just assumed that the other places would take more time due to the rare cases of fraud marriages etc. Please dont get offended anyone from these places as I mean no offence I was just curious. My US partner said those people may have a lawyer to deal with their cases to try to speed them on but I dont think that is the case. Im sorry im just observing and wondering why this is.. but then again this is the immigration offices - they are not always logical are they? lol

USCIS Service Centers61- Day after IMBRA RFE?
The RFE I got said that it takes a minimum of 14 days to process the RFE and if it takes longer than 60 days then you should contact them. I think they are saying that until it goes past the 60 days then you shouldn't worry about it. After 60 days then contact them.

USCIS Service CentersProcessing Time

I sent my 129F to California on May 19, and shortly thereafter read the news about the IMBRA law. I received the RFE for that, sent it back, and was approved by the end of July. I saw that they are supposedly way behind on processing, but I don't believe it's really as far back as March 6, because I've already been approved!
Maybe I'm just lucky... :star:

Yes you were lucky. There are still a lot of us from March that haven't gotten our NOA2. The problem is they are no longer following any rules. The approvals are all over the board.

Something interesting just happened. I was listening to Rush Limbaugh (PLEASE NO ENDLESS DISCUSSION OF THE VIRTUES OF RUSH HERE! save that for the off topic forum) There was someone that got on and talked about the delays caused by IMBRA. He ( the caller) sounded very angry about the whole thing because our government is bending over backwards to allow the illegals to stay only to hold up the ones that are doing it legaly. Rush said he should fly her to Mexico and walk her across. He also said that this illustrates how the government could deal with the illegal issue if it wanted to. Just thought it was interesting that we just got national coverage for our problem.
